PROS: ambiance is great, staff is exceptional, owner is really nice, English speakers, phenomenal food, excellent wine!
CONS: expensive—this seems to be a theme with the places I have been reviewing. I keep going to fantastic places that seem more pricey than the norm—but I do believe all of the places I have rated 5-stars and the only con was the price simply means to be prepared for a great meal and to spend some money. This place is worth the price IMO.
REVIEW: We made reservations, they had our table ready for us—we had sparkling rose, and several different red wines—the menu is small but what they do is really good. We started with the meat and cheese platter—it wasn’t listed on the menu but what wine bar doesn’t have one, we asked and the delivered—most certainly not the best meat and cheese platter, but we aren’t in France either. We shared the Riesling soup (I think this one is the best I’ve had here in Germany, and I have had lots), the shrimp avocado mango salad which was really good, and the sea bass risotto (which we thought was going to be veal—but to our pleasant surprise it was sea bass) and that was sooooooooo good! Fish was cooked perfect and the risotto so flavorful! Highly recommend this place!
