Best Restaurants in Concord and Pleasant Hill - Eater SF

"Standouts on the extensive menu at Yaedam include marinated LA style beef short ribs. Not only do you receive a generous serving of crispy edged, caramelized, deeply flavored short ribs (no flaccid ribs allowed here) with the lunch combo, you also get your choice of kimchi soup, soft tofu stew, soybean paste stew, or cold noodle as an accompaniment. From the meat section of the menu, try the thinly sliced brisket. Served on a bed of raw onion, the brisket is tender and tasty. Enjoy it unadorned, or dipped into the sesame oil and salt condiment to enhance the flavor. Yaedam receives high marks for its banchan takeout game. The juicier banchan are packed into small containers, nestled next to their less juicy banchan neighbors, so that flavors don’t mingle until you are ready for them to. For those that don’t prefer takeout, Yaedam has an outdoor patio dining area with several tables." - Rebecca Shea

Yaedam Korean BBQ is hands-down one of our favorite spots! The food is consistently amazing—everything is fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, whether you’re there for a casual weeknight dinner or a weekend outing. What really sets Yaedam apart, though, is the incredible service. Ester, the owner, is truly the heart of the place—she makes everyone feel like family. Her staff is just as friendly and attentive, always going the extra mile to ensure a great dining experience. This place has become one of our regular go-tos, any day of the week. If you haven’t been, you’re missing out!

The setting of this restaurant seem dead. Everytime I drove by, I thought the place was popping. The blue RGB lights was up for decoration to catch the outside attention of fine place. My experience here was alright. Meat quality was poor, corn cheese (no effort) just taste sweetened corn with melted cheese ontop, and cocktails were awful. Mango slushie cocktail was original flavored Soju with mango purée. The cocktail was watered down. Get a new bartender. It was no pitcher, it was brought into a stainless steel tall cup. The vibes of this restaurant was either quiet or the music playing loud. Service was not bad though the food experience here was poor. Come on now the brisket should've at least passed my standards but the bulgogi, brisket, pork neck wasn't even delicious. For the price, it's not worth it. Will not be coming back here. Deuces ✌🏻

This is my favorite Korean bbq place in the area. I love the food. It is always delicious. The staff there are always super nice and caring. I recommend this restaurant for those wanting some Korean bbq.

The food was terrible and the service was really bad. Sauce was spilt on my leg when the sauce trays were being served. Food tasted like crap and the portions were terrible. Saw many roaches crawling around and their salad bar was near empty. Their fries were cold and bland, and their plates had remains of people before us. Not cleaned at all.

This is my partner and i’s favorite Korean bbq place in the Bay Area! We are such foodies and have been to many Korean bbq places in the bay and this has outdone them all. The quality of the meat is excellent (thick 👌), it’s so clean and the food is so fresh. Plus the service is top tier! Update.. they def changed the menu and their food. It’s okay but not as great as it was

Really good kbbq. I like that the bar is accessible to everyone and you can get as much as you’d like.

Really quite delicious and a great variety of banchan. I specifically love the eggplant which usually isn’t given at other Korean places nearby. Also a great lunch combo! It comes with rice, soup, and a protein. Great portion and perfect for leftovers too. Their broths are really flavorful and warming. So definitely come on by and try yaedam!

OK, First things first. The food...Flippin' AMAZING! I might be biased because I'm Korean but seriously, the food is delicious. This place used to be a different Korean restaurant pre-pandemic but everything's new/different/changed now and this is yet another example. Back to the food... The banchan is well done and flavorful and has authentic flavors that is really hard to do well. The Kim Chee Jigae is OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!!! The richness of flavor without being over salted is what surprised me. They also had a korean beer that I never had before so that was pretty cool. You know I had to order the Kal Bi too. That was super good as well. The manager/owner said that an order would feed 1 and a half people but we found that it'll easily feed 2 and in our case they brought out 4 decent sized ribs and it fed all 4 of us. Granted 2 of my party were little ones (actually 1 little one and my teenage son who could put away the groceries). One of the issues I had was that things I asked for didn't show up and I had to either ask multiple times for them or the wrong thing showed up. Eventually I asked to cancel a couple items off our order. If it weren't for that I would absolutely give this a 5 star review. In the end it wasn't a big deal but I can see these things being exacerbated during high volume times like Friday or Saturday evenings. With that being said I think it's a 4.5 star place. Well done, authentic Korean food is hard to do and good places are a rarity. I would be more than happy to drive an hour to come back with my family or wife on a date night/cruise. Support your local korean restaurant, give this place a try (just not on Friday or Sat night lol).
