20 Salads Around D.C. That Don’t Feel Like a Chore to Eat

"This casual Middle Eastern counter, in McPherson Square and Dupont Circle, sells customizable salad bowls that can be topped with shawarma, falafel, and a range of pickle, dips, and sauces. Add amba, a pickled mango condiment, for a sweet and sour punch. Order for pickup here. — G. H." - Elsie Yang

I loved this place! The staff was very friendly and helpful, they helped with my decision, as I was a little lost. The falafel was really good, the greens and sauces they put in where fresh and very tasty. The fries were very crispy and yummy. They also have different fountain drinks which I really liked.

I work down the street and was looking for a good place for lunch to grab a bite that wasnt a burger spot. Shawarma sounded great. Yafa is a quick lunch counter style place that gets you in and out. The staff is nice and keeps the line moving. I got a rice bowl with lamb and added hummus and other vegetables. Very tasty and filling. I would go back. Only draw backs were the food could have been a little warmer and they charged for the pita bread (whole piece) which I thought came with it. Out the door my meal was $11 and change.

Best place to get good Middle Eastern/Mediterranean food. It's quick and good quality food. Keeps the belly in good shape since I am DC area worker and pick up lunch here. I vote of the rice bowls are good and the toppings are amazing. Going here for 3 years and more, I have not been dissatisfied even once. Has vegan option.

Great place. Fast service and excellent food. I have been several times. My first experience was not great because I probably included too many sides. When I kept my order simple, my food was delicious. I can honestly give this a five star because of the quality and service. Plus their bread is baked fresh. That alone takes it up a couple of notches.
