Went this past Saturday and it was amazing. We've lived here for over a year and I cant believe we've never been. I would recommend to anyone! The bbq chicken pizza was great. The staff was awesome, and the location is smack in the middle of the strand!

Google
We dropped by for brunch before leaving town and had a fantastic experience. The prices were very reasonable, and the food did not disappoint. The patio is dog-friendly, and the staff seemed genuinely happy to welcome our pup. Plus, a carafe of mimosas for just $15? Can’t beat that! Great service all around — we’ll definitely be back next time we are in Galveston.

Google
We had a great experience. Food was excellent. Our server Braden G was very attentive. It is also a dog friendly restaurant. Last time we had brought our German Shepherd and Boxer with us.

Google
This restaurant was amazing!! So many choices to eat here!! I really wanted a virgin bloody mary & the waiter made me one! I asked for a water with a ton of lemons I got that! The hangover burger was delicious!! So much flavor the meat was perfectly seasoned. The tomatoes had fresh taste. Everyone enjoyed their meal! Our service was amazing, the bathrooms were nice, clean & the restaurant was good busy.

On a day trip some friends and I came to Yaga’s for dinner after spending the day at the beach and had a great time. Everyone enjoyed their food and there were options that catered to everyone’s dietary preferences (vegan, vegetarian, etc.). We dined in and were seated immediately, the atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly, and the service was great considering how busy they were. We will likely be back the next time we are in Galveston!

Google
Simply a fun place to eat. Party of 2x on a Monday night. Only half full. Service was quick and friendly. Cuban panini and cajun potatoes were rated as excellent. The Shrimp (you get a lot of them) and sweet potato tots were also excellent. Decor is cheery and welcoming. Paid street front parking might be available when not crowded, but on busy days it will be difficult to find a spot. Fortunately, you can probably find a spot around the corner or a block away.

Google
I used to wear Yaga clothing when it first came out, so the nostalgia can't be overlooked. The atmosphere is great, with indoor and outdoor seating. The food does not disappoint and the staff is relaxed and friendly. Definitely a place to visit when on the Strand!

Google
Excellent food options that are healthy and can be vegan or made vegan. Very friendly staff and super nice vibe/atmosphere. The drinks are also really good and the prices are more than reasonable considering the quality and the service. It’s also ideally located for a nice walk downtown. I would really recommend.

Yelp
Ask for Owen! This place is awesome! Great atmosphere, great drinks, great food! We enjoyed ourselves!

Jessica H.

Yelp
Owen was incredible! Our food was great and Owen's service was amazing! Atmosphere was inviting.

Nireitha O.

Yelp
Great restaurant, food is very delicious and our waiter Owen was awesome. He's was very attentive and outgoing, super funny as well. He made sure we were very well taken care of. Love coming to this restaurant every time I visit Galveston.

Danny B.

Yelp
Food was good. Service was great. Owen did a fantastic job taking care of us. Go by and see them before you sail.

Yelp
Our waitress was so sweet! We went to Yaga's on a whim last June and had a great time! My MIL wasn't very hungry and they let her order off the kids' menu, which was so nice! We had a great time and the food was delicious! I had the shrimp burger on the waitress's recommendation and it was super unique. Ambiance was cute.

Yelp
Had take out the other day for lunch. Grilled chicken sandwich with bbq chips and a cookie! It was great! The portions of chicken were extremely generous; there were two good sized pieces in the sandwich. Have always loved coming to this place because of the great service and casual environment! Definitely a great place to cater for events!

Yelp
We visited during the week of Cinco de Mayo and ordered the Seafood Flautas, Fish Tacos and a Cuban Press. The food was very bland, almost no spices seemed to be used and everything kind of had a stale mayonnaise or sweet chilli flavor... the seafood flautas were oooo...kay, that's mostly what we ate. The fish tacos had a strange aftertaste, and the Cuban press was almost inedible (the meat was so dry I could barely chew it, the only saving grace was the sauce and the pickles... which I picked and ate off) Service was friendly enough but kind of spastic, most of the servers were teenagers or clearly very inexperienced. Basically we settled the bill just to leave at the end of our meal and were still hungry. I thought based on the reviews it would be a hit, but it was very very underwhelming.

Ciera B.

Yelp
Great menu choices! Gluten free options abound. Yummy food fun casual atmosphere. Patio or inside options. Dogs allowed on patio.

Crystal L.

Yelp
Hannah was awesome pizza was soooo delicious. I loved love the service. The weather was great outside and just a great place to hang out. Will definitely be back again soon.

Yelp
Ordered HEC of a sandwich & my Husband ordered Blackened Salmon .. The sandwich was not as pictured but tasty none the less .. my husband's blackened salmon .. im still smh it was so small & thin in portion hidden underneath the fried eggs with hollandaise sauce.. he didn't want to complain he said it was tasty I just couldn't believe the portion size for the price of $15.00.. smh.. ik I wont be returning .. my evening was ruint in thoughts.

Sonya B.

Yelp
Enjoyed brunch at Yaga's. Shrimp and grits with an egg and my daughter had the eggs benedict.

Steve W.

Yelp
We decided to stop in here based on the good reviews. Typically we prefer to shop and dine along the seawall because this area of Galveston charges for parking. We started with the queso supremo which was great, although they don't give you much salsa. The wife loved her cauliflower pizza and my yaga-burger was very good, but on the salty side. The only drawback was the pickle spear they served with my burger was on the rancid side. Our server, Georgina was on par. Four drinks, appetizer and 2 meals came to $75 minus tip. I would like to point out that the men's room leaves much to be desired (who puts 2 urinals just inches apart with no divider!). Nonetheless I'm sure we will revisit this place in the future. The rest of the review is in the photographs included.

Jessica C.

Yelp
Love love love this place! Anytime I'm in Galveston this is a MUST! Prices are great and the variety of food is incredible. My favorite is the white pizza and the Seafood Flautas! Those I can die happy after eating!!!

Andrea S.

Yelp
We had a great brunch today at Yagas. We sat outside. Hannah was a exceptional waitress. All my family was pleased with their meal choices. We tried several starters and 4 brunch items and everything was good. I highly recommend Yagas on the Strand.

Melissa C.

Yelp
December 15, 2022 Came in with a group of cyclers from an island bicycle ride. Sat at the bar and shared a breakfast burger (had egg and bacon on it) it was good, the meat could have been seasoned more and the cajun potatoes were dry Still a 3 star for me

Aileecia C.

Yelp
It was ok. The wait wasn't bad. The service and food was descent. I'm not saying it was bad but it's not at the top of my list.

Elayna D.

Yelp
Brunch and brunch bar specials!! What's not to love about that?! We ordered wings, cocktails, a burger, shrimp po boy and fries. The burger was ok, the shrimp po boy had sooo much shrimp there was enough to share and the fries were basic fries. The star of the show....the brunch drinks and specials! The drinks were good and refreshing, our waitress was nice and checked on us periodically and kept the drinks flowing. Back to the shrimp po bo, it is prob the only thing on the menu where you actually get wayyy more than your moneys worth. Shrimp piled high plus more shrimp, think 5 guys fries with more fries thrown in, that's their po boy. The shrimp was also good and came out hot. The burger was a basic burger and was dry. I wouldn't order it again, the wings were good and made to order. Do yourself a favor and stop in from brunch/lunch and enjoy the brunch specials!

Daniel G.

Yelp
Atmosphere and employees were great. They however were pretty occupied talking to their friends or regulars. Nice relaxing place in old Galveston. Crab cakes were bland and not firm. The chili was almost like it came straight out of a can. Not impressed with what we ordered and we were not checked on for additional drinks or to see how our meal was.

Tiffany N.

Yelp
Lots of choices on the menu. I'm glad they had a kids menu too. Mine loved the Mac n cheese and grilled cheese. The shrimp quesadilla was a good size portion (as it should be for the $15 price tag). I wish I could've gotten a drink bc they had yummy flavors but I needed to drive. It was pretty busy for midday on a Monday.

Chris H.

Yelp
Owen was awesome and the food was great! Beer was good too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yang Z.

Yelp
Stopped by for brunch on a Saturday. I tried the gumbo, hash, salmon, and deviled eggs and all were excellent. Presentation and flavors were on point. Prices are very reasonable. Only $5 for mimosas during weekend brunch. Not the most upscale nor the quickest but I thought the food and service were overall both good.

Reanna H.

Yelp
Our server Owen was one of the best!!! very polite and helped me with every question i asked. great enviroment & the best grilled shrimp and queso I've ever had.

Jill L.

Yelp
Great food and good service. Owen was helpful. Can't wait to come back. He was a great photographer!

Naomi E.

Yelp
Great vibe and food! Great for vegetarians and non vegetarians. Customer service is excellent. Owen was awesome! Will be back next time we are in Galveston.

Samantha M.

Yelp
Owen was awesome and very attentive! Great service! Brunch was delish and the mimosas were refreshing!

Berit D.

Yelp
Old school Galveston restaurant and went in for the first time and enjoyed my experience. Service was a little slow but the food was worth the wait! Their burgers are unique the way they blend and grill the meat and it was exquisite. It was a little pricey too but again the enjoyment of the food was worth it too!

Lavisa Y.

Yelp
We walked in and were sat immediately with no wait. Only down side is, it was right next to restrooms. Our waiter was smiling and very friendly. I think he forgot about us I do believe but the chips & queso were on the house so I guess it makes up for that part. The drinks are good. We had a piña colada & Bahama mama. Fish tacos, salmon burger are top notch. They forgot about our pizza also so everything was on the house. All together our visit took over an hour to get all food out but the food was great. I'm a realist so I realize things like this happen sometimes and they definitely made it right. We will be back because of all the times we've visited this place this has been the only hiccup.

Angela G.

Yelp
Sooo good. Loved the vibe and service was great. Food was so delicious and waitress recommend this lovely dish and so glad I listened.

Danielle M.

Yelp
Love this place!! My friends and I like to go for their (amazing) happy hour deals and we are never disappointed. Their happy hour is from 4-7 and it's well worth it to come around this time. We've tried the keto salmon avocado pizza (8.5/10), fried chicken club (8/10), roasted jerk chicken (7.1/10), with their sides of sweet potato tots and fries. All very yummy. Our servers are always very attentive and make sure we're comfortable and satisfied. The ambiance is pretty laid-back and casual. Nice spot to grab a bite and hang out with friends, I highly recommend.

Nikki J.

Yelp
The 5th star is 100% due to our lovely server! She gave great recommendations, was patient with all of our requests (we had an 8 month old baby with us), and when I asked her to "surprise me with a good local beer" she came in clutch! The cocktails were great too. The beautiful, shaded patio is right on the Strand. The food was decent, but nothing overly amazing. Definitely had a varied menu with seafood, burgers, and even pizza, and had a decent selection for gluten free/vegan as well. Would definitely return for patio drinks!

Justin A.

Yelp
first time here and service was SO nice!! staff was polite and food was tasty! definitely coming back again

Elizabeth T.

Yelp
Casual dining in downtown Galveston. As the weather begins to not be miserable, you can actually enjoy the outdoor patio. Requested a bunless burger and accommodated accordingly. Burger was just good- could have had a little more flavor. Fries were solid and beers were cold.

George S.

Yelp
Good food option in Galveston. They've got a wide selection of food and drinks. The service is fast and the staff is friendly. Prices are decent. It's well located near a lot of landmarks and you can easily find parking. There's often special events happening there, when we were there, they had the MLB trophy outside on the patio, you could take pictures with it.

John A.

Yelp
What a lovely meal. We stopped in and were welcomed warmly. I had the quinoa bowl and my sister had the Cuban sandwich. They came quickly and were delicious. Shout out to our server, John. Great service and food.

Amanda C.

Yelp
First time here and the food was pretty good. We came for a friend's Aggies Ring Dunk and it turned out pretty well!! We ordered jalapeño chips with ranch dressing for an appetizer and roasted garlic chicken pizza and a few ice cold beers. Our server Gabby was so awesome and although she had been there since wee earlier in the day, she treated us as if she had just started her shift. People like her are rare to come by and are so very appreciated especially when they're busy.

Carrie D.

Yelp
Excellent food, super friendly service, and our window seat was great for people watching

Jasmine J.

Yelp
Yagas isn't premier gourmet food in anyway, however they are quick, easy and quite delicious. I love their $6 12" pizzas on Monday special (my fave is the bbq chicken) and their happy hour hits (be sure to get on the rocks). Another delight of mine is the mango salmon salad - very light. Yaga's is a Galveston staple and I frequent alone or with friends often

Zoie F.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I were visiting Galveston last week, And we stopped here. I liked the colorfulness of the place, that's probably what caught my eye, and the fact they had Keto pizza on their menu! The service was prompt and friendly! We got the crab cakes and cured salmon keto pizza, The crab cakes and the sauce were AMAZING, I wish they came with more than two. The keto pizza was good, it would have been better with cooked spinach in the cheese but it still hit the spot! My boyfriend got a bloody mary and I , a margarita, those were absolutely perfect! I'd definitely stop here again If i were to come visit Galveston agai

Jose G.

Yelp
Great family meal there. We went to the strand after church, when we normally eat out. Initially we went into a cafe nearby, but it gave us a really bad vibe (they had a weird cat theme, new age, and hipster host). Using trusty Yelp, we found Yaga's. Really glad we did. I had the 1lb shrimp po boy. Had so much shrimp, I got to share with the wife and kids. My wife enjoyed her meal, as did my kids. Our waitress, so if I recall correctly was named Madison, was great. The prices were extremely fair. The restaurant is quirky but not corny, right next to the town square or plaza at the strand. Definitely recommend.

Samantha D.

Yelp
Cute little place. Had the best waitress ever. She was so sweet. The food was good. My fav was the crawfish risotto appitizer. Everything was fresh. Will deff be retiring when back in Galveston.

Erika P.

Yelp
Always see this place, but this is the first time eating here. Food was better than I expected. Pizza and fish tacos were delicious! Joseph was our server and he was excellent!

Jana M.

Yelp
Had a great brunch Landon was an outstanding waiter. Great food and great prices. We will be back.

Raylene T.

Yelp
This was a great place to have a nosh and a cocktail at the beginning of our day in the Strand. Landon, our server, recommended the crab cakes which were "award winning" so we started with them. I'm not sure what constitutes an award winning crab cake but they were pretty good! My husband and I split those and the coconut shrimp. That meal was a surprise. Usually coconut shrimp are fully battered and barely recognizable as "Shrimp" and served with a pile of greasy fries but these were gorgeous plump juicy shrimp served on a bed of sticky rice and teriyaki asian vegetables, all perfectly cooked al dente. So good. My husband had the Dirty Monkey and I had the Yagarita. Yum. And then Landon asked if I wanted a second one and I was about to say no, because we were about to leave and he said "you can take it to go!" And just like that, Galveston became my new favorite place to vacation! The food was reasonably priced and the atmosphere was comfortable. Will definitely go again next time I'm in town!

Haily Z.

Yelp
Food was cold and disgusting. I ordered the chicken fajitas and the chicken was dry. I would not give it another chance.

Heather M.

Yelp
It has been years that I've walked on by and finally I stopped in. We got the chips and queso as an appetizer, and WOW on both! Most of the time, it's so easy to fill up on just chips and salsa, but that's not the case here. Both the queso and the chips themselves are super light in weight but heavy on delicious flavor. I was way too excited to eat my strawberry cider salad that I completely forgot to take a photo. It was fantastic! That type of salad is one of my favorites; it's so simple with few ingredients but SO GOOD. Everything compliments each other so well, and they prepared each bit to perfection. The drink (beach bonnet) that I replaced the Sauza with Hendrick's was refreshing and tasty on a hot day. I'm looking very forward to going back for brunch and happy hour. I'll probably still end up getting that strawberry salad again along with everything else!

Sonja F.

Yelp
Ethan Fox is an excellent server/bartender! We have gone there several times but this was our first hand experience with this young man whom brighten up my afternoon. Had a real bad day at work, needed to relax and was grouchy but once Ethan saw this he took special time to make feel better with his great smile, sparkly eyes and expertise in serving. Ask for him!!

Lisa V.

Yelp
The salmon pizza is freaking amazing. Everything there is a bit funky but it's a cool environment and nice outdoor seating. Great drink menu. Yaga's controls all of the festivals and I have a bit of an issue with that but this is not the place to air that. Great place to visit!

Ari D.

Yelp
Utterly disgusted by the food here. The turkey burger I received and took a bite out of was completely raw.

Erica W.

Yelp
The food was terrible. The waiter took a while (20 minutes) to come to my table to take my family and i orded. Then after we ordered our food it took 45 minutes to come out to us and we were one of the only few people inside that restaurant,I also ordered the chicken quesadilla when i was eating the food it was great at first but when i went to go eat my second quesadilla the chicken tasted HORRIBLE. i couldn't fathom the taste. AT ALL. the chicken tasted BLAND and it tasted like it had been outside for 8 hours then served to the customers. But even though the food wasn't up to my expectations the waited who served us was excellent and deserves a raise. The place of the restaurant was very nice very quiet and not many people.

John C.

Yelp
Food sucks. Hands down. Tourist prices to boot and even if it wasn't galveston, it wouldn't be worth the price. Service was excellent though which is why I'd give it 2 stars. Poor young waitress apologized and so did the manager and comped a meal in my party on the count of it being disgusting. I ordered the sliders (which said it would come with bbq sauce on it) and I literally got a small dried up dot of sauce on it. Patty was also dry and cold.
