"Yagi means goat in Japanese, and there are two reasons why that name makes sense for this spot. All the recipes pay homage to the chef's hometown of Guangzhou, nicknamed "Goat City," and these noodles really might be the greatest of all time—or at least the best in Newport. Their dishes take local ingredients, like Aquidneck Farms beef and seasonal vegetables, and combine them with bonito furikake and shio to create dishes that somehow manage to tick every single flavor box. You can add extra pickled eggs, chili crisp, or a noodle refill, all of which are totally worth it. If it’s nice out, grab a caffeine-free milk tea and sit at an outdoor table on Long Wharf." - danielle rose

Google
A must visit especially when you’re sick of all the seafood in Newport and want comfort food. This was our last dinner of our long weekend getaway and hit the spot. The broths are so rich and all so unique. This place makes the ramen places by us seem below average 😩.

Great Ramen is Downtown Newport! When it is cold outside, this is the place you want to be. Started with the OG and Gochujang baos, which were small packages of immense flavor. The OG was traditional but I really liked the Gochujang especially given its focus on Korean flavors. The ramen was excellent with the flash fried mushrooms being flavor bombs along with the rest being well executed. Prices were reasonable and the service was attentive. My strongest recommendation and I will definitely be coming back.

This is my favorite restaurant in Newport!!!!! Super friendly staff and Amazing flavors, to be honest this is my favorite Ramen place in America. They change certain items on the menu seasonally so there’s always fresh ideas going on. when you come to Newport don’t only think about the seafood, you should try a unique business like Yagi !!!!!

Went to Yagi for the first time last night with my friends and it was everything I was told it would be and more!! The squash blossom Rangoon is a must have, along with the bao buns and dumplings. I chose the tonkotsu ramen as my entree and it was filled with flavor and absolutely did not disappoint. My friend and I both got the sake flight and it was delicious as well as educational, I had no idea about the differences between each sake and it was a wonderful experience to learn about it. If I could give 10 stars I would, I’ll definitely be heading back soon with my foodie family. Thanks for an amazing meal!

Google
Fantastic ramen - Americanized you can’t get that in Japan. I am a local guide with a whole lot of experience, I simply know what I am talking about. People call me out of touch but I know what’s going on. When I say Americanized that does not mean bad or untraditional. No, the tradition of ramen is to keep the spirit - that’s all you need - and then be creative with it. It’s the jazz of food. And boy oh boy they delivered. They did it. It is worth a visit from wherever you are. We drove here from New York City and it was worth every co2 molecule we generated. Get the tantanmen if you want a creamy sesame ramen or get the classic tonkutsu and you can’t be wrong. The great thing: it is very filling of course but! It does not leave you feel like crap because you ate too much at once. Highly recommend

Google
Some of the best ramen I've ever had. The fried tofu was amazing and the bao bun was delicious. The spicy miso broth was the perfect heat and was my favorite of the bunch.

Google
We ordered dumplings, tonkotsu ramen, chicken chintan ramen, and warm cookies. The picture I took of the dumplings only have 3 on the plate but it comes with 5 of them. Tonkotsu ramen has really tasty soup and has depth to the flavor. I could taste the Yuzu in the Chicken Chintan ramen and I loved it! Also food came out pretty quick!! Thank you for the delicious meal☺️

Google
I am Always inspired by good stories - this one is born out of Covid misery. A few blocks down this place thrived, moved to a pop up and then opened in their current location. Our server was friendly and helpful! The food was delicious, flavorful and crafted with love. We loved the Chicken Bao, Veggie Dumplings, and especially the Tonkatsu Ramen. The Watermelon Basil Cheong was a hit!!! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Pretty good place for ramen if in Newport. Big portions and friendly staff. I wished they offered bamboo as a topping though. We ordered chicken karaage for apps which I did not like. The sauce was overwhelming for me. First time we went, we ordered cucumber salad and kale salad which was good. Pretty filling to share between only two people. We ordered the spicy miso and tantanman for entrees and I think the spicy miso tastes better. Prob should have gotten that the second time but I'm familiar with tantanman. We also tried the sake flight which was fun and delicious bc Tom gave us a little history on their selection. Definitely will return.

Yelp
Food- flavorful and delicious. I got the spicy miso ramen with extra egg $21 and it was amazing. Very filling and barely finished it. I also got the pandan boba tea and wish I had more. Very sweet but that makes sense. The LOBSTER bao bun was $10 for one and DELISH. Service- I came with a group of 15 and they were able to accommodate each and every one of us. They were very very kind and friendly.

Yelp
Best. Ramen. Ever. Okay I am exaggerating. No, I am not really exaggerating. The noodles I ate here are some of the best I have ever had. I will stop short of that... for now. Pretty servers. Pretty honest servers, friendly servers, and all the more reason to get that kaedama (refill for you non-ramen sequiturs). The broth is just too good to let it all go to waste. Because I had such an amazing experience here, I gave not one, but two generous tips to two servers. One generous tip for my server for genuine honesty about the menu; another generous tip to another server for being a hard worker; not just giving friendly smiles and delivering lines from the server script. This is one noodle shop that deserves all the recognition. Keep it up ladies and gents!

Yelp
Authentic wheat noodles, large portions, yummy drinks. I had the taro latte and friends had the lemon lime margarita, everyone was stuffed and sad they couldn't t possibly eat their whole meals! Great spot!

Yelp
A wonderful winter pick me up! We came in around noon and the restaurant was pretty empty, but we were greeted quickly and kindly! We tried the tonkotsu and the curry (with an extra egg), and both were flavorful and delicious! I had never thought of alfalfa on ramen, but it was fun and worked well! The restaurant was very dim, since there were no lights on at all. There was enough natural light to see, but that combined with really loud music gave off kind of strange vibes.

Evan B.

Yelp
Food is amazing. Had their Tokyo fog bubble tea, which was so delicious. Their spicy miso ramen is the best ramen I have had in a long time - with unique and rich flavors. The service and ambiance is also great. Highly recommend and would love to go back.

Yelp
Nice vibe for a lazy Sunday afternoon. Saw a TikTok video about Yagi and had to make the trip. Plenty of seating around 4 pm. Our server was the best part of the whole dinner. So knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful; the quintessential enabler and salesman. Ordered ramen all around with smashed cucumber salad and karrage for starters. Tried a Korean beer that was smooth and silky like a Nigori sake. Tantanmen was so flavorful and well done. The broth was on point

Yelp
I feel like in the last 5 years there has been a huge improvement on restaurant options located in a strip mall -- growing up it was always fast food or semi fast food in these types of locations. Yagi is definitely one of those restaurants that elevates a strip mall! It's a spacious, clean, great lighting with the nicest and most knowledgeable staff. I feel like the people there are excited about the food, which made me excited to try! They have your staple ramen options & they have experimental options too. I had a ramen in a spicy pork broth, ground beef, edamame, egg & chili oil. And for an app, the squash blossom ragoon -- the filling similar to a crab ragoon, filled in a squash flower & deep fried. Pricing was around $30 without drinks. Highly recommend and I would definitely want to come back and try their bao buns.

Margaret L.

Yelp
I love ramen so when we booked a quick winter getaway in Newport I knew I had to try having noodles! Fresh off the James beard nomination it was fairly busy at dinner time so I was glad that we had made a reservation. Everyone was so extraordinarily nice and accommodating. Unfortunately I was feeling a little off and not super hungry so my husband and I split a tonkotsu ramen and a milk tea boba. Both of these were great and they were super nice about us splitting. They put two straws in our drink (it felt like I was in a cute old school diner) and brought out extra bowls for us to split the ramen more easily! I will definitely come back when I'm feeling better and I can't wait to try some more of the appetizers and get my own ramen!

Kristen S.

Yelp
Awesome Bao. Loved the smothered dumplings. Peanut noodle with beef was excellent. Fresh good food. Cant wait to try other items!

Yelp
My family visited Newport, Rhode Island during December and Yagi Noodles was one of two ramen restaurants that I looked up close to where we were staying. Since it was our first restaurant stop, we didn't know better and spent $10 parking lot. There was plenty of free street parking during the winter time in Newport. Not being from the area, we did not know any better. For appetizer, we ordered the chicken karage with the spicy Korean gochujang sauce on the side. It was plentiful, and in retrospect, a good decision to keep the sauce on the side. My husband and I both ordered the tonkotsu ramen while my son had the duck version. The broth was very rich and delicious, I ate to the very last drop. The micro green garnishments was a nice touch, however, the mushrooms were amazing. It added such a nice earthy taste. There should be a mushroom appetizer dish made of just these mushrooms! I liked it that much! The pork meat was very much to my liking as well, nice thick cuts with a chewy/bouncy texture. Most ramen restaurants that I have been to, the pork slices are either too thinly sliced, or they are huge chunks of melting fat. The drinks menu was the deciding factor and what made me picked this ramen location over another location I was looking at in the area. The matcha strawberry latte with added lychee jelly was amazing. I highly recommend this! We also ordered the brown sugar milk tea boba and that was good as well. Overall, the service was excellent, and the food and drinks were great. The interior was very clean and had comfortable bench seatings with pillow cushions for your back, which was nice. I highly recommend this location if you are in the area or just visiting Newport, RI. See my pictures!

Yelp
Really enjoyed this place. Large portions, yummy flavors, and great service. Spicy Miso was amazing, I asked for a side of cilantro which made it even better. Tantanmen had such a great flavor, very hearty helping. The dumplings were so flavorful and crispy. My boyfriend loved the Tokyo Fog, which was recommended by our waiter. 5/5 will be back on our next trip!

Yelp
Yagi was much different than what I had imagined. Being in the previous space of Liberty donuts I thought it was a tiny little noodle shop. It's been open for a while and I passed by it numerous times. Incidently it only caught my attention when I was reading the profile of the dessert chef of Castle Hill Inn. She had Yagi Noodle on her resume. This is when I knew I had to try Yagi noodle. My daughter and I came here during restaurant week. Reservation system was interesting as you request for a time on the website and they will confirm that it's available. Lucky for me they had the time available. Yagi is BYOB. That's like the best thing in the world. I grabbed some yummy sake from the package store and off we went. I found the staff at Yagi to be very hospitable At every turn they checked up on us and it wasn't just out main server that checked up on us. All the servers including the owner worked together to give the patrons there excellent service. All the staff had a smile on their face and that's nice to see as it shows what type of work culture that Yagi has. Well off to the food. I ordered three dishes from the restaurant menu. The pork dumplings were excellent. Maybe a tab bit too much sauce for me. But it wasn't that hard to scrap some off of it. The wagyu beef stick was delicious. It was a part of the beef that I never heard of so it's always nice to try something new. I normally don't like wagyu too much as it seems too fatty for me but this beef wasn't like that. My kid and I had Ramen dishes. Now to be fair we both are not Ramen people. I realized this many many years ago. But considering I'm not a Ramen person these two bowls were excellent. The layering of the flavors were excellent and the noodle texture was spot on. I'll be interested in trying the rice dishes next time. The dessert was okay. Maybe a bit too sweet for me but thats how I feel about most of the desserts. The grape soda was really good. Although 7.50 for a soda is a tad bit expensive. Overall we loved the experience at Yagi and will be back soon.

Yelp
Nice space with nice ambiance and good layout. Service was great as well. Our server explained things well and was there when we needed her. Food was great. I would try the O.G. or fried chicken Bao bun and the Tonkotsu ramen for certain. If you like spicey, try the spicy scallop miso. They have a great number of selections.

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place. I drove down from Providence just to try it and I was so disappointed. I'll start with the good: The service was awesome. The bao bun appetizer was definitely yummy. Was it as good as Ebisu? No. Was it expensive for what it was? Yes. They put pickled onions in the ramen I ordered, which was unique and delicious. The bad: My tonkatsu ramen broth had zero flavor. The broth tasted like watered down chicken broth. I should've asked for chili oil or something to add to it. After reading other reviews, it seems like the general consensus is that this type of ramen is bland and not at all flavorful. I wish I read these reviews before I ordered. The homemade ramen noodles themselves tasted like whole grain spaghetti from Stop and Shop. I realllly wanted to like this place. Based on the rest of the reviews, maybe I just came on an off night? Or maybe I'm just spoiled by the ramen in the northern part of the state? Some of the other appetizers looked really good and I regret not getting those instead of my ramen dish. It's just painful for me to only order appetizers at a ramen place when I usually love ramen. If you're in the area and only want some appetizers, then definitely check it out. Is it worth driving 45 minutes from Providence? Absolutely not.

Praise T.

Yelp
The customer service is kind and the food is yummy! We had chicken pot stickers, the chicken bao and the ramen with ground beef (blanking on the name). Overall a great experience in an aesthetically pleasing space. We will be back for sure!

Susan P.

Yelp
Another restaurant with rave reviews which I don't understand. Food was mediocre at best. maybe an off day in kitchen? The stuffed zucchini rangoon was good but stuffed way too much with the crab/cream cheese mixture. The OG Bao buns were also very good. But that was it. The chicken karaage was just ok. The two ramens we tried lacked any real depth of flavor ( Tonkatsu and Tantanmen). The pork in the Tonkatsu was like dried shoe leather despite being in a broth. The Tantanmen was bland as well. Have had much better ramen elsewhere. The BYOB is still valid but they charge a $6 fee per drinker. They are now serving wine and beer whereas before they did not. All in all , a disappointing dinner but the staff was very nice and attentive and the OG buns were as good as my favorite places in NY & FL.

Yelp
Just stopped by for the boba & saw it's got a great legit loose leaf selection & their bobas are based on actual teas. Like the taro tea is made with jasmine tea! It was a light drink, refreshing but lacking in taro flavor as were used to. I really loved the sweeter pandan boba which was a great mix with coconut milk! Another thing, we like our bubbles sweetened & as deliciously chewy as they were, we like our bubbles cooked with a tinge of sweetness. Reallly admire the eco friendly bamboo straws! Never saw those before! Super kewllll! Nice inside space, quite empty but thh her customers were enjoying the outside tables. Not busy at all. Otherwise, it's in the walking mall where parking can be horridly difficult, but supposedly there's a parking lot that is 1 hour free with a receipt from that shopping mall.

Anatoli L.

Yelp
Actually, we didn't have any noodles or any food at the restaurant that we visited as Yahoo Tea. However, we had cold brewed coffee that was very good. The store also offers teas, and some of the teas smelled incredible - Assam, Jasmine, Earl Gray all smelled superb - it is too bad the teas are not sold at the store as the teas are simply superb. Good, friendly service. Recommended.

Yelp
What a delicious treat. I'm a local not a local but read that the chef is up for best chef for james beard award. I can walk to this great spot and was not going to let another day pass without a meal here. So after the Saturday farmers market I walked over and enjoyed food so full of flavor and thought, every detail. For appetizer I enjoyed the chicken karaage. It's Korean fried chicken either naked or two types of sauce. I went with the sweet chili. It was so filling, crunchy, and everything my southern craving needed trying to survive this north east world. I could make this a meal next time. I had a hot tea in between my app and entree to reset my palette. A separate tea menu is avail on request and I found a tea I've never seen before served with just a touch of honey. I shouldn't say I would come back here for the tea. But I would. The name escapes me. But it was their only oolong tea and maybe "buds milk." Yes please. For my entree, I enjoyed the tantanmen. It was such an interesting take on ramen with a creamy (yes correct) broth like gravy that complemented the house made Raman. I was practically full but ate a good portion. The bite was nuanced with a spice but not overpowering. It felt savory and good. I want this bowl on a cold north east day. Something about the way the broth coated my tongue made ea taste addicting. I wanted more. I did enjoy the house made desert. I had cookies and milk tea. The cookies (2) were served warm. The cocoa and cherry together with a sip of my brown sugar milk tea just made me giddy from the nostalgic flavor. I would come back. I get the james beard nomination for best chef. The food is clever and delicious. Newport doesn't really know how lucky they are with this chef right here and open in the off season too. Thanks for a great lunch and very gracious service who guided my culinary moments perfectly. I hope you win the nomination!!

Cal L.

Yelp
If you were to have told me that there would be a solid ramen joint in Newport, Rhode Island, I'd tell you that you were crazy. But here it is - Yagi Noodles. The food is Japanese style for sure, but they also had stuff on the menu like Thai Iced Tea and lobster bao (Japanese bun + new england style cold lobster roll). The ramen and asian dishes were delicious. The Thai iced tea hit the spot. And we overordered and ended up finishing all of it the same day. My favorite noodles were the dry ones (no soup) - they had a hot option (soy based) and a cold one (sesame based) and both were flavorful and well-designed. The spicy miso was also fire! The pork bun was great, but I would probably skip the lobster one. Drinks were pretty good too. We will be back!

Dan S.

Yelp
Service was A+. We had Tom and he recommended every dish and we were glad he did. We sat outside and enjoyed people watching as we shared 3 delicious apps. The salad was very unique and we were tempted to get an encore. The chef, who is Cantonese blooded and quite trained, made us the Sesame Mazeman and was kind enough to split it into two bowls as we were sharing many dishes. I prefer my food on the spicier side so I recommend that you request your spice level to be "very spicy" because there was practically zero spice in the Mazeman by default.

Jenny K.

Yelp
Their steamed pork dumpling was so good. I ordered them with 2 marinated egg(so yummy) and kimchi. My family ordered tan tan ramen(delicious). We had hard time looking for decent restaurants(we often visited New port. Everything was greasy and salty). I went there everyday(past 4days)while I stayed in New port. Highly recommended.

John M.

Yelp
Hearing of Yagi Noodles and their chef being nominated for a James Beard award made our list of places we wanted to check out. Newport RI is certainly not known for its Asian food but we were pleasantly surprised by the quality flavor that was heavy on authenticity but still had creativity added in by the chef. All the staff were very warm and welcoming. My wife and I wished to sample a variety of food when we visited. If you also enjoy variety, I would recommend ordering a ramen to split and 1-2 appetizers. That and splitting a brownie left us both very well fed but happy to have tried 4 dishes off their menu.

Alex E.

Yelp
I've been meaning to come here since it opened. I'm glad I finally did. The dining area is warm and comfortable. Both my hostess and server were friendly and professional. My wife & I started with the fried brussells sprouts appetizer; it's the best we've ever had. She moved on to a ramen with won tons, while I ordered the pumpkin ramen. Our dishes were nicely textured and well balanced. In short, we were both very happy with Yagi Noodles. We'll be back. PS As with all shops and restaurants in this complex, they validate parking here.

Kelsey P.

Yelp
WOW. Just WOW. Words cannot describe how spectacular this place is. The service: AMAZING. The food: BEYOND AMAZING. OUT OF THIS WORLD. Immediately upon entering the restaurant, my boyfriend and I instantly felt at ease. The hostess warmly and attentively welcomed us and our server was just as caring and sooooo nice. To start, we ordered the O.G. & Gochujang Fried Chicken Bao. Our favorite was the Gochujang Fried Chicken. Sweet, spicy, tangy, savory. So good. For ramen, we both ordered the Spicy Scallop Miso, and upon ordering it, I just knew it was going to be good, but I was still not prepared to experience the best ramen of my life. This wasn't just any bowl of ramen. This was the best thing I've tasted in a LONG time. Where do I even begin???? Words can't describe how amazing this thing tasted, I mean, I almost fell on the floor after my first taste of it. It had the BEST flavor. The perfect balance of everything - savory umami flavors with fresh seafood flavors and it just created this beautiful majestic flavor overall that was unlike anything I'd ever tasted. And scallop crudo in ramen?? Genius. It was giving "coastal" ramen and I was obsessed. My boyfriend and I couldn't stop saying how amazing it was the entire time we were devouring our bowls. I can say without a doubt that we will be back to Yagi. It was the best meal I've had in a long long time.

L K.

Yelp
So, I just arrived to Newport, RI and wanted to try some lobster rolls since I was here, but, instead when I was walking, I saw Yagi Noodles. Knowing the asian in me, of course i opted for Yagi. The place was beautiful and crowded with people (tourists). So I decided to eat outside, which was good; the restaurant was nice and clean as well. Service was 10/10. Nice and accommodating staff. That is what I enjoyed the most. Food 8/10. Both the appetizer and entree was like an Asian fusion dish. The pork bao bun was good. It was innovative and was pretty much a Bahn mi in a chinese bun. The pork noodles was ok. It was a little too rich and salty. Also, it is different from the typical ramen. Doesn't taste authentic, but I can appreciate their own twist. Overall, great place and a very enjoyable experience. Thanks Yagi.

Andrea T.

Yelp
Yagi was awesome! Great flavor to everything we tried (ramen, bao buns, drinks), and plenty of options. Also, all the staff were really sweet. It's paid parking but right now it's 1 hour free with validation.

Kelly K.

Yelp
Owner clarified that I was confused about the type of pork that would be in the soup. I was in the wrong. Still was a three star experience for me because of the thickness and toughness of the meat in a soup.

Hungry G.

Yelp
Chicken Karaage $13.00 was not good. It was made with dark meat chicken and was chewy. It seemed to be frozen and then flash fried making the meat raw trying to achieve crispy skin. Tonkotsu: $20.00 The homemade noodles were tough. It was undercooked. It had more of a bite. Many freshly made noodles would be soft to the bite. I was very disappointed with the noodles. I expected soft noodles. I would not visit again.

christine n.

Yelp
From start to finish the service and food was excellent. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. This is a hidden little gem worth going if you like Ramen. Its a level above.

Asha L.

Yelp
Excellent food and service from Rachel! It was wonderful to have delicious vegetarian options, usually noodle places offer 1 very bland veg option. The sesame broth with tofu noodle dish we got was amazing! We also had a hot Tokyo Fog (think London Fog, but better) with warm sesame chocolate chip cookies - delicious!! Highly recommend

Graham P.

Yelp
Fantastic ramen spot new (since I've been) to Newport! Staff was great, bubble tea was delicious and the ramen was interesting/unique and super good. Great noodle quality, reminded me of my time back in LA

Marc A.

Yelp
Service was awesome, food was off the chart great. Very relaxed vibe. My wife and I also own a restaurant's near by and know how hard it is to get this good. We will be back often and we will send friends

Rona A.

Yelp
Happy Tummies! This was our first time in the east coast so finding an authentic Japanese ramen shop is not that easy. We came here because our son is moving nearby. Yes, this is what we needed as the season is changing from summer to fall. Being Asian and from Hawaii, I can say the broth really made the tonkatsu (pork) ramen very tasty and my husband sons agree. Not many places on the mainland can make an authentic ramen broth that takes hours and patience to create the right flavors. We loved the subtle Asian decor and vibe, too. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We had their gyoza and pork belly boa for appetizer and they were delicious. As for price point, very similar to Hawaii and we get it since it's in Bowen Wharf (more of a tourist town similar to Lahaina, Maui). You want cheaper, find a Japan town or Chinatown. You want convenience, good food and friendly service- come here! Aloha...

Joel R.

Yelp
I love my job because I get to travel to a lot of different places and try out all kinds of restaurants. Every once in a blue moon, you come across a true diamond in the rough like this place. Just a heads up, the parking lot is paid parking but the restaurant validates so you don't have to pay for the first hour. I went by myself and was in and out in 45 minutes so I didn't have to pay anything. Walking up to the restaurant, it didn't look much different than any other Asian restaurant in a strip mall. Upon entering, though, the decor was pleasant and inviting. I was immediately seated by the hostess and my waitress appeared almost immediately. I took a few minutes to review the menu before ordering. I was told that one of the Bao Buns on the menu had been replaced by a corn fritter bao bun. I ordered one to try as well as three of the OG bao buns, a marinated egg on the side, and an order of the pork dumplings. I waited less than ten minutes and my food arrived. I decided to try the corn fritter bao bun first. To be honest, this was the absolute best part of the meal. I live in Georgia and have never had a corn fritter as good as the one in this bao bun. Seriously, it was sweet with just a touch of heat. Combine that with the bao bun and other toppings and it was one of the best individual bites I have ever had! Next up were the OG bao buns. The pork belly on them melted in my mouth. They were cooked to perfection. The crushed up peanuts that were sprinkled across the top added an amazing crunch to pair with the melt in your mouth pork belly. The hoisin sauce was just a touch heavy or this would have rivaled the corn fritter bao bun. Next up was the marinated egg. I have no idea what the egg is marinated in but it was also delicious. I didn't realized it was a soft boiled egg when I bit into it so the yolk came rushing out. Another great bite. Last were the dumplings. To me they were just standard pork dumplings I can get anywhere but they were good nonetheless. If I am ever in Newport again, I WILL DEFINITELY COME TO THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN!!!! This was the best meal I had all week in Newport.

Justin H.

Yelp
We spent a day in Newport and enjoyed some amazing Ramen! They had both indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant was clean and spacious. The staff were really friendly and attentive. They answered all our questions about the menu We ordered the dumplings as an appetizer and each had a bowl of ramen. Extremely tasty ramen, flavorful and hearty broth, fresh ingredients. They also had a wide selection of different drinks which we would like to try next time. Wish they were closer to Providence because we would be there often!

Melissa P.

Yelp
Being completely honest, I was skeptical going into Yagi but came out a total believer! When I walked in, I felt like I was in Chinatown. Cute Asian decor, tables close together with pillows on the benches. Our waiter was a hoot- super helpful in answering all of our questions and upbeat! I had the Caesar salad (I know, I know, who orders a Caesar salad in a noodle house!?!) but it was THE BEST Caesar salad I've ever had. I added chicken- which tasted reallllllly good, but beware it is fried ( I was hoping for grilled but we all know hope isn't a strategy lol). Oh and the donuts!!!! The answer is yes! I'm totally bringing my husband here for a date night. Not sure the kids would like it but I know he would!

Yelp
*** Excellent service!! Friendly and attentive!! *** Tonkatsu ramen was fantastic, especially the flavorful broth. The rosemary matcha lemonade was a showstopper. Definitely will be coming back!!

Yelp
We came here for lunch and boy was it a treat! It started with great service by out waiter, Tom. He could not have been more enthusiastic and helpful when we were figuring out what to order. We both chose Ramen dishes, Tantanman & Tonkotsu and they were full of flavor and delicious. Highly recommend. We look forward to coming back soon!

Yelp
Place is pretty good. The only thing is the menu is very small. Very very small. Wish they had more options and more dumplings. The Tonkatsu ramen was good. The only thing is the meat is very tough and they stir fried everything a little too much. The noodles were delicate and delicious but the meat and the rest were just too thick and not tender enough to balance the texture. Also please no pickled red onions in ramen it just didn't go well with the broth and flavor my stomach started to hurt from the vinegar and the savory broth . Leave it for tacos.

Yelp
One word: amazing! Food, service, beer selection - all of it. Cozy spot, reservations recommended. I will make this a regular stop when in town. The noodles were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The bao was flavorful and fluffy. I will come here again!

Yelp
YAGI noodle house is delicious, creative & innovative! It's such a nice space with very attentive staff! Tom explained every Ramen possibility and customized each one for all of our parties tastes. I had the mushroom based and it was incredible! My friends had the sesame peanut and the spicy miso. Both are highly recommended! The brussel sprout appetizer and the potato appetizer was off the hook! The service was attentive, timed perfectly and we can't wait to go back! Chef Basil is so talented! He even came to our table to say hello!!

Yelp
Best ramen in Newport. I especially love their spicy ramen and their matcha bubble tea (matcha is high quality and one of the better tasting matches ive had). Great friendly staff every time and is its very clean!

Yelp
Ramen with an American influence. We both had noodle dishes without broth, one warm and one cold. Both plates had tons of noodles, great if you're ravenous. I found the noodles themselves disappointing, without the snap and body of Japanese ramen noodles--a little too soft and very much like spaghetti. My dish was supposed to be spicy, but it was bland. I wish I ordered the bao because that seems more foolproof than ramen. The service was friendly and excellent. We came on a Saturday and it was easy to get a table. Ambiance is nice. Good for a festive large party.

Yelp
Such a delightful surprise! This is definitely not a typical noodle place. Everything we ordered was delicious and memorable. We'll be back to try more options ASAP!

Yelp
Super yummy food. There were some really unique dishes and the no-proof cocktails were fun.
