The Hottest Restaurants in Denver Right Now, Summer 2024

"Chowhounds in the know are raving about this tiny but mighty Thai eatery inside Lakewood’s Viet Hoa Supermarket, which is dishing up myriad staples — from papaya salad and massaman curry to pad prik pao and khao soi — with aplomb along with a particularly prized rendition of boat noodle soup. With all of six tables, the dining room fills up fast, so plan on visiting during off-hours or prepare to wait." - Ruth Tobias, Eater Staff

Yummy! Was craving cashew chicken so I did some research and found this place. And boy am I glad I did. Definitely different dining in a grocery store (for me), but I suppose Whole Foods and places like that have cafes, so .... We seated ourselves and the waitress brought us water pretty promptly. She double checked our order before placing it, which I always appreciate. I of course, ordered Cashew Chicken (medium) and my dining companion ordered shrimp spring rolls and some curry. We sat near the tv, I was facing it, and I really enjoyed watching the food preparation while there. The rolls looked fresh and the peanut sauce looked scrumptious. I refrained from trying them. My cashew chicken was a bit sweet at first (wasn't expecting it), but definitely grew on me as I ate. I thoroughly enjoyed every last bit of it and will definitely eat there, and likely it, again. If I lived in town I would be a regular for sure. 😋 We checked out the market afterwards and that was a bit of a treat as well.

Stopped in for lunch as I needed to shop at the Viet Hoa supermarket that this Yai Thai restaurant is attached to. You can come in through the restaurant door adjacent to the supermarket door on the right and go from the restaurant straight into the store. The atmosphere of the restaurant is clean. It’s quaint in size but roomy. The service was excellent. The food was delicious and the ingredients tasted fresh . Everything in my meal was cooked to perfection. You get to decide your heat (spicy) preference from 1-5. They offer plenty of condiments to go with your meal complimentary. There’s a tv for viewing in the dining area. And you can view the store from the restaurant . I would definitely go back and try different dishes on their pictured and well organized menu.

The food here is amazing! My husband and I lived in Thailand, and we have been unable to find truly authentic Thai food since moving back to the states. This place truly hits the spot and takes us back to our time in Thailand. Check Yai Thai out because you will not be disappointed!

The food was very tasty & I give it a 10/10. The portion served is great, it’s not too much & not too little. You can adjust the spice to your desire. The server was very sweet, she was really patient with us & was very respectful toward us. The chai tea was amazing, all the food was great in general. I’m definitely coming here again!

Overall really good place to eat at for your buck my wife amd i enjoyed it! I ordered the miso ramen with chashu pork i also asked for some pork dumplings on the side, the miso with a spice level of 3 it was really good! I added a bit more of the sauces that they offer to make it a but more spicy to my liking, really good and quick to get your food! As for the drinks the taro boba is fenomenal and not too sweet like all the other places that engulf the boba with so much sugar, this is more naturally sweet tasting!
