"A5 wagyu beef, that most decadent of meats, is king here. Order dishes for sharing a la carte, or put your trust in the personable and helpful servers; an omakase tasting menu is available for ¥20,000 per person. We love the beef tongue, heart, and other innards, but the seared wagyu sushi, layered on rice boiled in genmai-cha (roasted rice tea), and the thinly sliced sirloin dipped in raw egg are all-around crowd pleasers. You’ll need a beer to wash down the garlicky kimchee, but whisky highballs work just as well." - Melinda Joe

My favorite of the Jumbo franchise. It’s more casual and you have the ability to cook all the delicious meats to your preference. Everything is fantastic but I think our favorite was the meat tartare. Highly recommend.

Google
Yakiniku Jumbo Shirokane is hands down one of our all-time favorite yakiniku restaurants in Tokyo. We’ve been here twice, and the wagyu quality is consistently top-tier — incredibly tender cuts like zabuton and misuji that practically melt in your mouth. You can order à la carte and grill the meat yourself, or opt for a full-service course where the staff handles everything for you. We’ve done both and loved the experience either way. The atmosphere is cozy, slightly dim, and elegant without being intimidating. Despite the upscale feel, we had no issues dining here with our young kids — in fact, the staff were warm and welcoming, even gifting our daughters a small toy after the meal. If you’re visiting as a family, I recommend going for an early dinner around 5 or 5:30 PM when it’s quieter and easier to settle in. The space is a little tight, so we folded our stroller before entering. There are high chairs and baby utensils available upon request, and the staff were extremely accommodating throughout. English menus are available, and while not all staff speak fluent English, a mix of basic phrases and gestures was more than enough. Prices are definitely on the splurge end — we spent about ¥7,000 to ¥13,000 per adult, depending on what we ordered and whether we chose the full course. Reservations are required, and there’s a ¥500 non-refundable fee when booking. Do note that cancellation fees apply depending on the time and course selected (¥10,000–15,000 per person for dinner), so be sure of your plans before reserving.

A meal here can be a splurge, but honestly it’s worth it. Go for that $20 slice of meat that they grill on your behalf and serve to you in a fresh egg dipping sauce. You won’t regret it. Probably the most rich, tender and delicious slice of meat I’ve had. Ask for recommendations from your server in the best meat for the day and order that. Everything is ala carte/ tapas style so portions are smaller for each order/ cut of meat. All the meat cuts are pretty solid. I highly recommend getting a salad as well for a refreshing crunch to balance out the richness of the meat. The beef tartare with egg was an excellent starter as well. The garlic beef fried rice is also an excellent way to end the meal. Make reservations via tablecheck!

We were recommended by a friend and came in with high expectations. I’m very glad to say that this was one of the best experiences I’ve had in Japan. It was simply amazing! The sirloin might be the best single bite I’ve ever had. We opted for the omakase option to try everything. Not only was the food really good, but the service from Kazuki made it very memorable. He was very knowledgeable about the menu, good at English, and he took great care of us. I will definitely be visiting anytime I have the chance to visit Tokyo.

Google

Google
I had an absolutely amazing experience here. We had a private room they provided for free, and the quality of the different cuts of meats was unbelievable for the price. They grilled all of it for us (we would definitely messed it up otherwise!) and our server (young man with short hair) was unbelievably kind and provided friendly and amazing service. I cannot recommend enough :)

Hidden gem of beef BBQ in Tokyo: Yakiniku Jumbo Shirokane Yakiniku Jumbo Shirokane is a renowned beef BBQ spot, highly recommended by Japanese food experts on Tabelog, ensuring its top-notch quality and flavor. Given its popularity, we made a reservation for two to avoid the long wait. We ordered: • Grilled sirloin - JPY 3,000 • Zabuton - JPY 3,900 • Misuji - JPY 3,900 Unsure of where to start, we simply ordered from the top of the menu—and every dish was absolutely delicious. The staff patiently guided us on how to grill the meat and even assisted with the grilling, enhancing both the experience and flavor of each cut. The meat quality was exceptional, fully justifying the premium prices. I also ordered bibimbap, which was the perfect complement to the grilled beef. Overall, it was an impressive experience, especially for true beef lovers.

Google
This is a famous yakiniku place with premium beef. The food was amazing and delicious. However, note that food is quite premium range here so the bill will be high. I felt that it was worth it as you get served such nice cuts. I highly recommend the signature one that is served with egg. Do try the raw beef with egg also. It was delicious. To balance the budget, we ordered other cheaper cuts to fill up the meal also.

Yelp
If your wallet doesn't allow for spending at least ¥15k, keep walking--you won't enjoy here on such a tight budget. Everything here is amazing. All the meats (sirloin, fillet, chuck, etc.) are incredibly tender and practically melt in your mouth. Although it is hard to pick the best one, I have to say that the one served with raw egg for dipping was the most memorable. The staff are polite, elegant, and attentive, providing exceptional service. Also, I like the well balanced atmosphere- not too casual or too upscale. You don't have to suit up but definitely avoid shorts and sandals. This is the perfect spot for special occasions or to impress out-of-town guests.

Yelp
Be prepared to splurge if you're coming here but it will be well worth it!! Yes, their special is a thin slice of beef that costs $20usd but it's worth it to experience at least once. The beef was so tender, buttery and rich. Dipping it in the egg yolk after helped to mellow it out a little bit while enhancing the flavors. Omg it's definitely an orgasm in the mouth. All their other meat cuts are solid too. Make sure you ask the server for their recommendation since meat quality differs on the daily. We got a jumbo salad split between two of us to go with the meat. The beef tartare with egg was an excellent starter and the garlic beef fried rice was a satisfying way to end the meal. Definitely a memorable dinner. Reservation can be made easily via tablecheck!

Yelp
This place is one of finest meat grill restaurant. It has multiple fantastic menus such as meat with raw egg, meat nigiri, etc. I explored 5-6 menus today, and it was like a dream world of meats. If you want to experience fine meat, I strongly recommend here.

Yelp
2nd steak/meat place we went to in Japan. This place is nice and very Americanized. Most of the staff can speak English very well. Service was excellent. We walked in at 7:21 and they sat us within 5 mins without a reservation. They did tell us that we must be done by 9... Which was fine bc we are fast eaters. There must have been a reservation at 9 or they were closing at 9. On to the meat review. It was good. But not as good as the last place i ate at. I asked the waiter (just bc I'm not knowledgable with these meats) if this was Kobe, he said no, it's better then Kobe. I asked what is it and he said wagyu. I think the menu said black wagyu. Doing a quick Google search, google said black wagyu is classified as Kobe. So I don't know... Anyways, we tasted several meats and none really compared to the last meat restaurant I reviewed. (Look at pictures to see which ones we tried. None really "melted" in our mouths. They were tender and tasty but not compared to the last place. For a couple of the meats I had to add salt or us a dip. Price was pricey. I feel like we had less food and we paid around 4,000¥ more. As we walked around the area, we realized it was a wealthy area because of the cars and houses, which makes sense for the pricing... **** my wife just informed that the other steak house was in Osaka, I forgot it was in Osaka and not Tokyo. It's been a long trip! Lol so I'm not really comparing apples to apples Still worth a try. There is an option where you go with the waiters recommendation. I wish I knew this and would have gone with this option. He said it would have been around 8,000¥ but we do not know if it was per person or total. We didn't ask because we were finishing our last plate of meat.

Yelp
This was my first time experiencing yakiniku, and it did not disappoint. My boyfriend and I were visiting tokyo and our friend took us here and his friends ordered everything for us so I can't list the items we got... all I know is that every item was so perfect and delicious. Our server was so attentive to us and he cooked every piece of meat for us. It was honestly really interesting to watch, he explained how the meat was supposed to be cooked for a certain amount of time for each side. Hands down the best meat I've ever experienced. So good!!

Yelp
One of the best yakiniku restaurant in Tokyo. Make sure to make a reservation few weeks ago and have to try Noharayaki and cold noodle!
google avatar

Rein C.

Yelp
Food and service were both good. Quality of ingredients was fantastic. A little touristy - there were definitely more tourists there than locals - but maybe it's because it's a fairly residential area and the people there weren't prepared to pay $20 for one slice of beef bbq price is ok for ny standard but probably seem more expensive for most others. A fair number of staff spoke English.

Yelp
The best wagyu I ever tasted and was within walking distance to my hotel, New Sanno. I've been to Kobe for their wagyu but Jumbo's A5 graded wagyu is a step higher. Everything was so tender. The waiter spoke perfect English as he said that he used to work at their Singapore branch. He told us to cook it for 3 seconds on each side....so delicious. Add a touch of wasabi to your meats or use their dipping sauces. They also had Korean banchan- kimchi, pickled cucumber, and bean sprouts. To top it off I had Yamazaki 12 for 1400 yen. Total bill for my friend and I was less than $100 for the excellent quality and unforgettable flavor.

Yelp
Great place to have Wagyu beef in all kinds of cuts. In addition there are tongue, liver, heart, intestines on the menu. Each type of cut requires different timing on the grill and the staff will inform you to get the best results. Try the cold noodle to finish off the meat courses. Good place to have dinner with friends or family. Inside is little smoky due to the grills. The service is prompt and friendly. We made reservations few weeks ahead.

Yelp
MUST-TRY! Everything we ordered was the best thing I've ever had. Japanese bbq anywhere else will never be the same. Their meat were all premium, and they tell you how long you should grill it for so it is medium rare and cooked to perfection before you take a bite. Among 6 people, the bill was around 400, which isn't bad for premium meat! My favorite was the large thing piece that I took a photo of, but unfortunately don't remember which part it is. But you can't go wrong with any of the wagyu or anything else. We had the spicy noodles, and the cold ramen. I liked the spicy noodles a lot more than the cold (a bit bland). I also had the mango juice, which tasted very watered-down, but I guess it's because the ice cubes were melting next to the grill. I tried my friend's apple juice, and it was way better! At the end of the meal, you MUST order the ice cream! It is amazing.. so amazing my friends ordered another one! The cookie crumbs at the bottom of the ice cream mixed with the delicious milky ice cream made it the best thing to ever go in my stomach! I would go back there just for the ice cream if I could hah. But seriously, everything was so good here that it is worth going to in Japan - they have a few other restaurants too. Be sure to reserve because this place gets booked quick, or do as we did - go at 5pm and got seated right away. Decor was also very nice and has a large sitting around for people who needs to wait. Will be back for sure when in Japan! :)

Yelp
The best bbq meat I have ever eaten my entire life. My father in law ate here and said it's the best meal he was ever eaten ever. I suggest to do Omasake. I can't wait to come back here again this year taking my siblings with me. The meat quality is superb and literally melts in your mouth. It is quite expensive though, so be prepared to pay a high price for this meal. Won't recommend it if you are on the budget.

Yelp
Yakiniku Jumbo is best for friends getting together for quality beef, rather than couples having a romantic dinner. Their beef is surely high quality - It's certainly not cheap but once you understand its quality, you will be convinced. If you intend to make it more cost-efficient, or are on a date, I'd rather recommend going to Beef Kitchen. I think Beef Kitchen gets a better score based on their incredible cost performance, but if you are talking about the quality of beef itself, it's Yakiniku Jumbo going further a bit. Lastly, their curry and omlet & rice are outstanding as well. You've got to try them out too.

Yelp
Insanely high quality meat. Go for the chef's "makase" menu and lemon chuhai. The servers will likely cook the meat for you (on the grill right in front of you) to ensure that it's perfect.

Yelp
Yakiniku was definitely a MUST on my list of foods to hit in Japan. I looked online for some places to go to and this one was in an area that was kinda close to where we stayed. Plus it looks sooo boooooomb. So we did NOT have a reservation ready (party of 2)... but from the way things look when we got there, I would suggest making one. Coming from out of the country though, with things constantly getting moved around in my itinerary, making a reservation was just a bit difficult. But we got lucky I think. When we got there, I went up to the host and said we have 2 people, and he asked if we have a rez, and I said no. Then he went to look at his lil book real quick and looked a little concerned... but then he said, "we have a table for about an hour. Is that ok?" I was like HELL YEA!~ Haha an hour... for us 2 piggies it would be no problem. So we got seated right away (and there were a lot of people waiting in the waiting room too) and it smelled sOOOOOOOO good in there. MMMM. Our busboy? I'm not sure what he was. Trainee server? He was born in the US so we had a little chat and stuff.. haha so that was cool. Actually all the workers were preeetty good at English so if you're a noob at Japanese you may be ok. As for the meat, I can't remember exactly what cuts we ordered, BUT there was one that stood out a lot. Look for the meat that says "Jumbo Original" and "sukiyaki style" at the top of the meat selection page. Ok just looked at the English menu and it says Nohara-yaki. ORDER IT! It's marinated thinly sliced beef - the server will grill it for you, roll it up, then dip it in the raw egg (that you mix yourself) and then you eat it......... HOOOOOLY. It's so juicy and flavorful and omgggggggggg I loved it. Seriously delicious. As for the other cuts, I think everything was bomb. I remember we ordered galbi, tongue, several other ones, and we did not have any bad pieces of beef. Honestly so tasty, every single one. We also ordered one omurice, which was SO GOOD. And it was perfect to share as a rice dish, although my bf got plain white rice for himself as well. As for price and stuff, it cost us about $50+ per person/$100 total, at least if you count in dollars lol and that shit changes constantly. Actually it was more I think. Bring at least 10K Yen if you're dining for 2 but that's probably not gonna get you very full. Maybe bring 15K lol. We were like full but with room for dessert still lol. Service was good, price was very reasonable (especially for the quality of meat.. I mean wagyu beef ain't cheap yo), and food was fantastic. I recommend to all!

Yelp
Japanese style Korean BBQ seems like something you would avoid but like anything the Japanese co-opt the result is always impressive. It's quite hard to get a reservation here and it's some ways from Central Tokyo. It's certainly not cheap but it's not super expensive for Tokyo standards. We only managed to get a reservation at 850 pm. If you're even one minute late you lose your spot. The hassle and the cost is the reason it doesn't get the full five stars but the food is definitely delicious. I wouldn't go out of my way unless you have a real craving for it but then again I'm used to great Korean BBQ where I live.

Yelp
This place was a bit overrated and overpriced for my tastes. I left feeling hungry from their recommended platter and spent around 3900JPY. No AC either. friendly staff. no English menus.

Yelp
One of the best Yakiniku restaurant, I love every dish, yummm!! And very impressive service.

Yelp
best wagyu beef in my mouth reservation only, can't be late

Peter L.

Yelp
This is the best wagyu I have ever tasted. Multiple cuts of beef (misuji, harami, beef tongue, sukiyaki with egg yolk). The namul and kimchee are delicious. Assorted side dishes including garlic rice and cold noodles were also incredible.
google avatar

Yelp
HOLY COW. Melt in your mouth meat. Garlic rice so good. Doesn't matter what meat you choose because they are all so amazing. The end.

Yelp
Yakiniku Jumbo cane highly recommended to me by many friends however it didn't seem to live up to the expectations. Don't get me wrong- the meat qualify was fantastic however I was disappointed they didn't have a course set option. The highlight was the sukiyaki and also the beef tongue was quite tasty as well. I recommend you checking out a different branch to compare as the other ones I have been to were much better.

N c.

Yelp
All the beef dishes we tried were amazing, melt in your mouth and flavorful. The eggs for dipping are special imported from Kyoto with the most beautiful orange yolk I've ever seen. Service was impeccable. Reservations a must.

Tom F.

Yelp
Fantastic Yakiniku in this part of town. Not the easiest place to find amongst the small streets lined with vending machines, but once you arrive, you'll be in for a treat. Every cut of meat is phenomenal, well presented and perfectly seasoned. The service is great per usual Japanese standards. Prices are not unreasonable for the quality of the beef that you're getting either. Highly recommended.
