If you want an amazing wagyu experience in Tokyo, then Yakiniku Kappo Note is a must visit. It is rated as one of the top 20 steak restaurants in Japan and one of the top 101 in the world. Each dish was both beautiful and mouth watering. The staff was enthusiastic and friendly. They only do 2 x 6 person sittings per night so you must plan your reservations in advance. Let there be no doubt that this meal is an investment, but the intimate experience and the extremely high quality food was worth it. There was even some interactive arts and crafts as the staff led us through some kanji calligraphy. There was even a takeaway bento box!

Yakiniku Kappo Note is one of the best dining experiences I've had. It's a set course menu featuring 7 dishes and dessert. Taste, presentation, and seeing the chefs prepare the meals in front of you made this experience very fun. I had to reserve via Japan By Food and there are only 2 timeslots 5:30pm and 8:30pm. If you're willing to try this experience, it'll definitely be worth it.

The best dinner of my life! This place is an 8 seat restaurant that you have to book way in advance, but it’s not as complicated to book for other places where to have to log in at certain dates and times. The chef is very young and super talented. It’s a lot of food and you want to stop, but you don’t because everything is so delicious and the presentation is like a show. Expensive but worth it. An amazing experience while visiting Kyoto. Watch the pics and videos and you will better see what I’m talking about

They are really nice and try hard. The food is priced way too high (comparable to the Michelin 3 stars in town) and the quality isn’t quite there compared to other restaurants that draw a less touristy crowd. No standout dishes, just reasonable quality beef. Not to mention I was a bit shocked by their solicitation of tips, which I’ve never seen in Japan even once before.

I recently went to this amazing restaurants a few days ago while on vacation in Japan to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Each course was absolutely delicious. We left full and extremely satisfied with our meal and experience. Definitely hoping to return one day.

A bit mixed feelings about this one. Beautiful presentation, friendly and fun chefs, all dishes were delicious. But at the same time no outstanding course, somehow I would have also expected a bit more meat quantity (while we for sure didn’t left hungry, I would have loved to get a proper wagyu steak and not just tiny bits and pieces), and maybe also more variety in wagyu, tongue, etc. The waiter in charge of the drinks was a disappointment, we selected the indeed expensive Sake pairing and at the beginning he served us almost too much, then at some point we were left with a tiny cup of Sake for several courses (which was obviously empty for most of them), and we even didn’t got served all of the promised pairings, at least one was missing, but as the waiter after a while didn’t show up at all anymore, we were too tired to complain. Overall, not worth the hefty price tag.

beautiful beef, creative chefs and delicious courses. the segregation for halal preparation was much appreciated. the lychee marinated tomato was a unique surprise and highlighted the level of craftsmanship possessed by the chef. however, I felt some of the courses were a little overdone eg the foie gras and unagi combos were a bit too fatty and needed to be pared back. the tea pairing was a little underwhelming.

This was unapologetically the best dining experience of my life so far. The staff was insightful and kind, the presentation was stunning, the atmosphere was elegant while simultaneously fun, and the drink pairings were immaculate. I would and will fly back to Tokyo for this experience again. Thank you to the team of chef’s for an unforgettable experience.
