YAKINIKU WASHINO SHINJUKU

We had an absolutely wonderful experience. The Kobe wagyu beef was outstanding — beautifully marbled, incredibly tender, and full of rich, buttery flavor. It literally melted in my mouth. You can truly taste the quality and care that goes into selecting such premium beef. The service was just as impressive. Fendy was attentive, professional, and genuinely warm throughout the entire meal. He explained the different cuts and preparation clearly and made sure everything was cooked perfectly to our preference. His friendly attitude and attention to detail made the dining experience even more memorable. Highly recommend this place for anyone wanting to experience authentic Kobe wagyu with top-notch service. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely amazing, mouth watering dishes! The meat is melt in your mouth! Must visit while you’re here! Fuka, our server, was so warm and welcoming and made our first meal here in Japan the best! She is the absolute sweetest!! The team in general is so accommodating, especially since we were walk in! Will definitely be back and would 100% recommend!

NEED TO TRY! The experience here was very memorable. If you ever want to eat Japanese wagu, this restaurant is the place to go. There are various meat options available in the restaurant. I personally recommend the Chateaubriand (the second picture) and the Sukiyaki (the video and the last picture). The tenderness of the meat, the texture and the flavour is going to be unforgettable. Fendy took care of us during this experience and did an incredible job. He cooked the meat for us and explained about the dishes. His hospitality skills was very impressive.

We LOVED it. Delicious from start to finish. I can’t remember all of the different courses, but there must have been at least 10-12 of them! The Wagyu was tender, fatty and had perfect flavor. I really enjoyed that you got to cook it to your personal temp. I like mine done slightly more, a little crisp on the outside if I can without overcooking it. It was easy to do on the grill. I think our favorite was the final course, the sirloin that was so thinly sliced it was almost paper thin. It was a little difficult to cook and we preferred it without the egg that it was served with, just the sauce that was on the plate with it was perfect. Also had some hot sake, I found it just ok but I’m not a big sake fan to begin with so couldn’t tell a good one from a bad one. The service was outstanding. We made a reservation over a week in advance that we needed to change and it was really easy to make that change 2 days in advance. Excellent dinner and one of our more memorable foodie stops in Tokyo this trip.

I had an outstanding evening at Yakiniku Washino Shinjuku, savoring their Premium Course dinner. The menu kicked off with an unique Wagyu yukhoe with seafood that melted in my mouth. The stars were the premium salted tongue, tender chuck flap, superior lean Wagyu, and exquisite Kobe beef selections—each grilled to perfection at our table, bursting with rich, juicy flavors. The Wagyu sushi trio and sukiyaki-style sirloin elevated the experience, paired with chilled noodles and a delightful dessert. Our waitress, Risa, was exceptional—warm, attentive, and knowledgeable, ensuring every detail was perfect with her radiant smile. This Shinjuku gem delivers top-tier Wagyu in a cozy ambiance; I'll return soon!

[Read first] I’m always happy to leave reviews, but they were pretty persistent about asking for them while waiting for dessert and before the bill, with a few reminders. It felt a bit uncomfortable, though they don’t pressure anyone to give good reviews for freebies. The high ratings likely reflect the overall experience, myself included. Saw the amazing reviews on Google Maps and decided to give this place a try. Managed to walk in without a reservation, which was a nice surprise. It didn’t feel super local since most of the customers were speaking English, but overall the experience was still very nice. They recommended the premium course, which had a good variety of cuts and came with appetizers, dessert, and tea. Ryuichi-san was very attentive and friendly - he helped us cook the first piece and the last few pieces, and let us grill the rest the way we liked. The restaurant was playing jazz when I visited. It was a bit loud for me, but the vibes were still good for a slightly premium dinner.

Two words: JUST GO!! Fabulous restaurant. We ordered the Premium Set and this will probably be the best meat you will ever have. Each cut of beef was different and had their unique tastes. The Kobe beef was truly amazing. The service was also outstanding. Our server Hikaru was so welcoming and nice and explained every part of our dinner to us and taught us how to grill the meat properly. Unforgettable meal.

I will have to agree with the other reviewers about the food taste and quality. The wagyu is incredible. Each table has a small grill for you to cook the beef to your desired perfection. Our server demonstrated how to rub a bit of beef tallow on the grill to prevent sticking, but there’s enough fat in wagyu that I’m not sure this is necessary. Each cut of meat was tender and juicy and served with a certificate of authenticity. Unlike several other reviews, our server never pushed for us to leave a review. He was attentive and very likable. The atmosphere has a warm and intimate vibe that added to the enjoyment of the meal. I highly recommend Yakiniku Washingo Shinjuku to any beef lover - you won’t be disappointed.
