Yakitori Hinata is truly exceptional. I’ve been to many famous yakitori restaurants in Tokyo, but it’s rare to find a place where the food, service, and wine selection are all outstanding without feeling pretentious.
The yakitori here is incredible—you can feel the owner’s genuine love for the craft and his deep respect for both the producers and the birds themselves.
He has even started visiting farms and taking part in the raising of the chickens he serves.
The tasting of Matsukaze Jidori is phenomenal, and the tsukune is so delicious that you immediately want another. The grated daikon served between bites is also refreshing and perfect.
The final dishes are always tempting—the yakitori rice bowl, ramen, and other seasonal finishes make it hard to choose.
And the pudding for dessert is unbelievably good.
It’s still under the radar, so reservations are relatively easy, and everything about this place feels perfect.
Their English hospitality is excellent as well, making it a fantastic spot to bring international guests—they always love it.
