YAKITORI Moe es

"The chef’s pedigree in both yakitori and French cuisine shines in this restaurant’s omakase set meal. The magic begins with appetisers such as smoked chicken or terrine de foie gras. The chicken soup is like a clear consommé. The restaurant sources whole chickens of a variety that requires a long breeding period, and rests the meat for several days to concentrate the flavour. To bring out the flavour of the meat, salt is used liberally, sauce sparingly. Simple chicken soba noodles end the meal." - Michelin Inspector

This Japanese culinary gem offers a perfect blend of simplicity and sophistication. Each skewer showcases the chef's mastery of grilling, with the smoky aroma of char-grilled goodness being utterly irresistible. A particularly memorable spot while in Japan.

We were brought to a little room across the street from the main restaurant, it felt like an adventure to a secret room for the 10 of us, complete with a bar just for us. The whisky ice was beautifully round and clear like a crystal ball. Skewers we're good, not fantastic imho, but definitely good. I just wish they were more smoky/burnt and rarer on the inside at the same time. Rice bowls to end the meal we're impressive.

Gem of a place hidden in a residential street right next to roppongi crossing. Great yakirori, great drinks, plenty of tables and room at the bar. Foreigner friendly..

Fantastic Yakitori, wonderful service, we had a very nice time there! My recommendations: chicken oyster and gingko nuts 😋

We already had dinner before this place so we just wanted to try a few skewers, ended up paying ¥4700 at the end… 2 sakes, 3 chicken heart and 2 chicken skewers. We had to order drinks even though we said we rather not (edit: this seems to be a norm in yakitori places). Also they serve you this weird soup as an appetizer and charge you for it even though you didn’t ask (edit: also a norm in higher end yakitori restaurants to charge a cover fee). Then on top of everything they add 10% tip onto your bill. It did feel like a tourist trap. The food was okay, a little undercooked to my taste, ambiance was great.

We came in not expecting much due to the rating but we were pleasantly suprised at the quality of the food. The items that really blew our minds us were he chicken neck, kinkan, and espescially the chicken ramen. The chicken neck yakitori was juicy, crispy, flavourful, and had a wonderful bite to it. The kimkan, which is an embryo of a chicken that is gently roasted outside wrapped in seaweed accompanied with a bit of wasabi was divine, exploding in my mouth, coating it with rich, creamy and umami golden liquid. Finally, the chicken broth ramen. The broth was so rich and flavourful, and you could tell it was boiled for a long time by the gelatinous texture of the soup and the way it coated your mouth. In addition to the amazing food the place has a warm, cozy vibe to it. Not to mention the inpeccable foreigner friendly service by the staff, as they all speak English. I would also like to mention the "boss", who is a charming, handsome and knowledgeable host who made the experience all the more unforgettable. It was truly a delectable experience, absolutely worth trying.
