"This yakitori specialist is nestled in a quiet corner in Yeonnam-dong. Make your way inside to discover an elongated counter, open kitchen and, at its center, Chef Kim Byoung-mook busy concentrating on grilling yakitori skewers over a charcoal as well as a straw fire. This visually arresting image of the chef, standing under the intense lights that also illuminate the grill, is reminiscent of an actor delivering a monologue on stage. The restaurant's motto is plain and simple, “We prepare fresh purebred Korean chicken every day and grill our skewers over the highest-grade Japanese Binchotan charcoal and serve them immediately to our patrons.”" - Michelin Inspector

Such a cool dining experience! We came here for the 9:00 service, and we really enjoyed the restaurant’s ambience and the food. The various chicken skewers were all delicious and imbued with the fiery taste of charcoal. The 9:00 set menu costs ₩22,000 per person, and you must order a drink, but for the environment and amount of food, it was not a bad price at all. If you’re looking for a chicken skewer omakase place, come to Yakitori Mook!

Ummmm….. 🤨 may be not my expectation.. it’s a too commercial and the food sequence can be improved.. especially the fish “cold corn soup” .. I really can’t figure out what’s the rationale of the chef

Impeccable dining experience without having to pay a fortune for it. Definitely not cheap either, but it was a great culinary experience. All dishes were of amazing quality. Would highly recommend it, also the location in the cute alleys of Yeonnam-dong doesn’t hurt

The overall food and service is just ok, initially I thought it’s good as it’s from the TV famous chef but far from the expectation

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Yakitori Mook, and it was an experience that left my taste buds dancing with joy. This is a restaurant from one of the chefs that was featured on "Culinary Class Wars". It is a small, cozy place with mostly counter seating so you can see all the grilling action and a few small tables along the sides. Make sure to book in advance, we used CatchTable to secure our reservation. Each skewer was grilled to perfection, with a delightful balance of flavors and textures. The chicken was tender and juicy, while the vegetables were fresh and crisp. The chef’s skill in seasoning and grilling was evident in every bite. One of my favorite skewers was the Tsukune (chicken meatball). It was incredibly flavorful, with a perfect blend of spices and a hint of sweetness. The tare sauce, a savory glaze, added an extra layer of deliciousness that made it impossible to resist. It was served with a sous vide egg that you were able to mix in the sauce for an extra velvety bite. The service was impeccable, with attentive and friendly staff who were more than happy to explain the menu and make recommendations. Their passion for the food and dedication to providing an exceptional dining experience truly shone through. In addition to the yakitori, the restaurant offered a variety of other dishes such as salad, soup, dessert that complemented the meal perfectly. I'm not usually a salad guy, and I wasn't expecting it to be anything special here, but the yuzu cabbage salad was crisp, refreshing and perfectly seasoned with the balance of acidity to cleanse the palate. Overall, Yakitori Mook exceeded my expectations in every way. If you’re a fan of yakitori or simply looking for a memorable dining experience, I highly recommend giving this place a try, It's no wonder they are on the Michelin Guide!

Reservation only. Over priced try hard fancy bar haha. Its 35 000 per person and you get like 15 tiny dishes and or yakitori skewers which most of are litterally 1 bite. The skewers are good but out of the 18 dishes you only get like 4 or 5 also its all chicken and cheap parts too. No steak no pork no lamb nah just chicken even the smaller bites they bring is just chicken wings they also give a nasty almost tastless chicken liver patte. You must order alcohol as part of the service because they like to remind you they are a "bar" not a restaurant.. cheapest drink is like 10000 so its more like 45000 minimum and thats only if you go before 7pm after 7pm it becomes 55000 total per person with drink. Tldr its decent but not for 100 bucks its 100% chicken and you will still be hungry after

I want to give this place 6 stars. For 35 000 krw you do get a full ~ 15 dishes omakase menu, so from a price value standpoint it cannot be better. So it's just cheap? No! It's excellent, skilled chefs, attentative service in a cozy setting. Each part of the chicken is treated individually to create an exquisite experience. Fantastic! The only downside is that you have to buy alcohol. Second time I went here, I came with my daughter and then alcohol felt unnecessary, but it was no problem in bringing the bottle home.
