"When you say misonikomi, the first thing people from Nagoya say is Yamamotoya. The restaurant has become iconic for its clay pot full of noodles in earthy, flavorful stew. Most visitors and Nagoya natives like the Sakae location of this chain for its modern-meets-traditional atmosphere. The restaurant’s long shared tables often get packed during the lunch rush, but it’s worth finding a spot to enjoy your noodles in the perfect environment. [$$]" - Nina Li Coomes
There’s not alot of places in Nagoya that offers halal Japanese food, so very thankful that this restaurant provides an opportunity and also to try something different. First time having miso udon and it was scrumptious! The udon noodles are so chewy and the miso gravy was flavourful~

Literally the cutest udon shop with warm atmosphere, great food, and great service. The staff saw me trying to translate my menu to English and asked me if I want the menu in English instead. She also asked me if I want apron, the staff’s English is good! I had oyako miso udon with add on rice cakes and tempura and it was delicious! The udon was soooo chewy and the atmosphere was great. My palate is super mild though so it is a little intense, but I had a lot of refill tea along with it. Love it and would come again for sure. 🥰🥰🥰

Went here after hearing there's a halal menu that you can get. The udon noodles are so good! I recommend getting the miso soup one. The flavor is very strong which I like.

Some of the most authentic Nagoya miso nikomi udon !!! The noodles are handmade and so delicious!! I came back a second time. They have a special vegetarian / vegan menu with a lot of consideration for many different dietary needs ! It’s truly a special experience eating here. And the food is absolutely amazing ! Local warm cozy vibe. Affordable food and good portions! Highly recommend it !!

Had a good dinner here. Has a separate vegan menu with tasty options. My udon was extremely hot and tasty and my extra mochi really added to the dish. Dessert was also tasty

They had muslim friendly udon, the taste was so good when we had it in the cool January weather. The staff can’t speak English, but her effort to explain and serve us is so impressive.

A recommended Muslim-friendly restaurant with many variations of Nagoya local food, such as tebasaki, isomaki, etc. which I like the most. They also make udon themselves; however, the texture is less chewy, in my opinion.
