My wife and I visited for the first time on a Monday night which is Neighborhood Night meaning all day happy hour menu. Upon entry, it feels like you jump into an anime theme comic book from the wall paintings, graphics, decor and lighting you feel like you leave Philadelphia.
We informed our server that this was our first time and they gave us a thorough overview of the menu, popular items and we made our selections. I ordered a Sake Wide which is their Japanese take on the local staple, City Wide (shot and beer). My wife had a highball.
The rest of the meal was a selection of shareable items from each section of the menu.
Sushi & Hand Rolls - Shrimp Tempura and Salmon Avocado (this came out last and we were busy eating so I forgot to clip it in the video.)
Cold Starter - Spicy Tuna Rice Crispy. This was a great first item and introduced our pallet to the flavor journey we were about to take. This had a mixture of spice and savory and textural complexity. Great start.
Hot Starters - Spicy Karaage (chicken thigh) and Duck Onigiri. The chicken arrived first. A nice tender cut of thigh topped with aioli with a nice crunch to it. The duck was tender and mixed into the rice almost like a risotto. Flavorful, tight, neat.
Rice & Noodles - Hibachi Fried Rice. Once again, carefully prepared and flavorful. We enjoyed each bite and debating our favorites which was difficult to land on a definitive decision.
Mustering up a little more room, we asked about their soft serve ice cream and were informed it is discontinued in the winter but they have a house made black sesame ice cream that did not disappoint! I got lost in this dish and forgot to capture it.
We will definitely return on a different night to experience dinner but will have no problem returning on a Monday. Highly recommend!
