The 20 Best Restaurants & Bars In Singapore 2024 - Singapore - The Infatuation

"Everyone talks about Singapore’s hawker centres (and rightfully so), but the majority of Singaporeans eat at kopitiams (think of them as mini-hawkers hidden in housing estates). In one of those kopitiams in Bishan is where you’ll find Yang Ming Seafood. It’s a zi char, which basically means a small place that encourages communal eating and has a large menu focusing on wok-fried dishes that often originated in home cooking. Call ahead, order the Lobster Andrew for your group, and debate whether Andrew is the chef’s name, the lobster’s name, or somehow an adjective. Then, portion out the silky rice noodles with smoky lobster steeped in soy and garlic and wonder why lobster is prepared any other way." - anthony eu

The good. Dishes was generally well executed and we enjoyed most of them. The pig stomach with chicken soup was especially good. Prawn paste chicken and BBQ squid was also very good. The bad. Except for the pig stomach soup, all other dishes took 45mins to arrive, which was an absolute letdown, especially when we got hungry young kids. It somewhat brought the entire dining experience down several notches, despite the well executed dishes. Staffs hinted that food ordered might not be enough so we relegated them to decide on the portion size. We couldn't finish in the end and had to stuff ourselves and dabao to prevent wastage.

This afternoon we had a pleasant dining experience at Yang Ming Seafood at Excalibur Centre at Ubi. Food was fresh and flavourful and came in decent portions at reasonable price. We ordered several dishes for our group of ten people and we especially loved the lobster chee cheong which was served with fresh lobster. The burnt fried mee hoon was delectable. We thoroughly enjoyed all the excellent dishes well served by the friendly staff. The place was big and spacious with aircon indoor and outdoor seats . Overall , we were pleased with our lunch and appreciate the good services by a friendly gentleman in my review.

Food is great & server is friendly & helpful, most importantly reasonably priced. Their svc charge is 1% instead of the usual 10% & portion size is decent as well. Ordered their pork trotter beehoon which is light & easy on the stomach, the bamboo clam is fresh & tasty. Would return to try their signature lobster & soup again. Place is breezy and windy as well. Returned 2nd time and as usual food is great as always with great hospitality. The white pepper crab is delicious & cooked just right. For birthday month also comes with lotus bun complimentary.

Absolutely one of the best seafood joints on our sunny island Their salt baked crab is out of this world Complimentary $3 (500g) crab was done in white pepper sauce. Fabulously balanced sauce Sambal kangkong easily reminds me of those they used to serve along Upper East Coast Road Their service is on point too. Everybody including the cook bothers to smile and greet customers!

Sunday brunch at 11:30 am. The place is already packed. Ordered their signature Andrew Lobster, 4 Heavenly Kings, San Lou Burnt Bee Hoon and Signature Chicken. Andrew Lobster did not disappoint. Costly but delicious. San Lou burnt bee hoon still cannot beat JB Ah Meng. Others dishes are good and ordinary.

Old school seafood Tze Char ... lobster nice (we ordered small) , bamboo clam nice, hotplate toufu fail, sweet sour pork just pass(not amazing good,my mum can do better), pork rib king nice. Ambient like the old Singapore Tze char in industrial area. Feels like back in Malaysia. Need to request for indoor Aircon hall if not they put u outdoor which is a bit hot humid

Staff was friendly and patient with us as we took the time to browse the menu. She also recommended some must-have which was welcoming. There is an air-conditioned area so that helped with the hot weather. Food wise - tasty. While some family members commented that dishes were slightly on the salty side, other people said the taste was just right.

We pre-ordered the Parents Day set menu. Service is good and attentive from all staffs, especially Xiao Wei who has been following up with my reservation prior to the actual day. Food is great too. Occasionally will drop by to dabao their beef fried rice, it is so good too. Though busy, they will still take time to clear the empty dishes and change plates for us Advisable to make reservation and also pre-order the signature dishes beforehand.
