China’s Braised Chicken Mega-Chain Opens Two Restaurants in Los Angeles - Eater LA

"Yang’s Braised Chicken Rice, a mega-chain from China, is opening two new locations in Los Angeles this weekend. The signature dish is a Jinan-style braised chicken made using a 100-year-old family recipe. The new restaurants are located in Rowland Heights and San Gabriel and will serve this single dish customized to diners’ spice preferences." - Cathy Chaplin

Flavor is good, although a little too salty for my taste. I do enjoy the combination of chicken and spices to go along with a small bowl of steam rice. The thing that gets to me is the price and the number of menu items they have. I feel you're getting way too little for the higher price they set on these bowls. I would think if all they serve is that one item, why not just give us a larger portion? They should really expand their menu. It's a hit or miss place because of that. If you don't like their food, you're never coming back because all they have is that one item. That's it. I thought it was just ok. I wouldn't go back again because I can get the same thing elsewhere for a better price and I can also get a larger variety of foods to go with it. Would I recommend this place? I have a video up on Simply Tom for Youtube if you want to see more detail of this place. If you've never been there before, definitely check them out. They go from there. It's not a bad place at all. It comes down to personal preference.

simple and tasty chicken bowl. They have three spicy levels and I picked the original one, should have gong for the third level. Chicken is well prepared and sauce is juicy.

They dont have much of a menu and they do everything digital. You get 3 selections of how spicy you want your chicken. Comes with small side of rice but, it's very tasty. This location is cozy plenty of room to sit in or take out. Worth trying

Simply tasty. This one dish restaurant makes it easy. One dish - three levels of heat. Tender chicken, mushrooms, ginger slices and spices served piping hot with white rice on the side. Super yum comfort food. Not fast food. Great service and usually in and out in 15 mins. Love the boba milk tea combo. Prices in store are lower than advertised on web through food deliver services. Yum!

Just okay. The sitting area is nice and modern but the amount of food you get is pretty conservative relative to price paid. You also forced to buy a fountain drink with the entree as its priced in, I wasn't too fond of that gesture. I wouldn't return

Actually Surprised by the quality from the taste, cuz just by looking at the served food wasn’t expecting too much from it. However, hmm sometimes you never know until you actually take a try of the food. Lol. Recommend here, just watch out if you are not too comfortable with ginger. I’m loving the ginger spiciness.

Ordered the mild version. Unlike the stock photo, there was a thick layer of fat floating on top of the soup base which makes the dish super greasy and unappetizing. Taking 5 minutes to skim off the fat from the batch can make this a 5 star dish. What a shame.
