Yaocho

not worth the price. it was Fine, but if im paying 30 bucks for a chicken sandwich and some tater tots, i expect it to be amazing. definitely regret not trying a different place in this food hall.

This is my second visit to The Square, the fantastic new food hall in the heart of DC, and I couldn't be happier with my dining experience this time. I had the pleasure of trying Chef John Mooney's Yaocho, a culinary journey into Polynesian flavors, featuring delectable fried chicken, chicken and fish sandwiches. The Fried Chicken Sando was a revelation, with a perfectly crispy thigh that was not only succulent but also incredibly flavorful. The charcoal bun added a unique and appealing touch to the dish, setting it apart from your typical fried chicken sandwich. However, the real star of the show was the Mumbo Yao Sauce. It had just the right amount of spice to give the dish a kick without overwhelming the palate. The combination of the crispy chicken, the smoky bun, and the tangy-spicy Mumbo Yao Sauce created a flavor explosion that left me craving for more. Chicken was terrible, very dry and it felt old. The bun was so soggy.

The actual sandwich was good did not like the Black bun just plain weird AND had no taste, what I found tacky was one dollar tip added, really??

This place was open to take orders but no one was there and the door to the kitchen was literally wide open…now I have to have to figure out how to report fraud on my credit card. Based on the other reviews it sounds like I dodged a bullet anyway.

Placed a carry out order online via Square and when I went to pick it up I was told the restaurant was already closed. They never refunded my order and they won't respond on social media. Honestly, scam behavior. Avoid this restaurant.

Asked for wings, git very dry breast. The chicken was soggy and flavorless. Would not recommend 😕

The staff is really nice, but it's one of the worst things I've eaten in recent years... I've been feeling nauseous since.
