I visited with my family on a Friday around the start of happy hour. We've been here before at that time as it allows us to get a booth before the restaurant gets busy after work hours and still enjoy the scenery at North Hills.
The wait staff smiled a lot and were very personable. We arrived during a shift change, but there were no issues with delays in getting our drink/food order placed. Our waiter was very attentive in refilling our drinks and checking on us to see if everything was ok. We appreciated that.
The main reason we came during happy hour is for the half priced appetizers. They have a decent selection of items for half price during that time. My wife, son andhalf-priced daughter and I all were able to find something that we liked. We just ordered a bunch of appetizers and shared them. We had the calamari, cheese pizza, bbq chicken pizza, Korean boneless wings and the chicken tenders. My wife had to go rouge and get the Firecracker shrimp (not eligible for the happy hour discount). I don't blame her for ordering it, as it is very, very good! My apologies for not providing a detailed description of the shrimp, but it is good and my wife and I would recommend it to anyone who likes some slightly spicy shrimp on a bed of sweet rice cake.
The calamari were lightly fried with just the right amount of salt. Crispy and not overcooked. The kids had the cheese pizza and tenders, which was, well... cheese pizza and tenders. Not much to say there. They enjoyed it. The Korean boneless wings were very good. I'm not sure how authentic the flavor was, but I enjoyed them nonethelessin. Crispy chicken breast bites fried and tossed with a sweet chili sauce. Our waiter mentioned the wings would be spicy. She was correct, spicy, but not hot. The sauce was just right, not very sweet, but had a nice chili spice to it. I will definitely get that again. The BBQ chicken pizza was also good. I had that before. The size of the pizza (all of the pizzas) was nice for $8. The chicken was breast pieces were still tender after cooking in the oven. The bbq sauce as the base was good, not too sweet, a bit smokey, and just the right quantitiy on the pizza. Red onion was a nice counter to the sweetness of the sauce and the cilantro provided some brightness to the pizza.
Overall, we had a nice time out there. Except for the shrimp, nothing we ordered was over $8. As Bob Barker said, "The price is right!". The TVs were showing various games and the music was not too loud (easy to hold a conversation at the table).
We'll be back for sure!
