Yard House

Clearly this place is popular or maybe that it was a Sunday that we picked for dinner. It’s a pretty big restaurant and my best guess can easily seat about 100 plus when full. It’s got a fully stacked bar and they are famous for the beer shots (rather beer in small glasses. The one we sampled was 6 different types of beer served up front in a single tray. You better reserve a table eye it’s going to be a long wait. The staff is friendly and the service is great. But somehow I came away not exactly over the moon - or maybe what I ordered isn’t the taste that I am used to. The only thing I remember that tasted great was the spicy edamame that paired perfectly with the beer. The jambalaya was quite the disappointment- I’ve had much better. Clearly they are popular but at least for me it was like I’ve has much better food for that price. But then this is my review and you should make up your own mind about the place…

Yard House at Santana Row is a solid spot if you’re looking for a vibrant, high-energy atmosphere with a wide selection of food and drinks. The location is great—right in the heart of Santana Row—so it’s perfect for people-watching or grabbing a bite after shopping or a movie. The beer list is massive, with plenty of craft, local, and international options on tap. If you’re into trying new brews or just want a cold classic, you’ll find something here. Cocktails are decent too, and the happy hour deals are worth checking out. Food-wise, the menu is extensive and has a little bit of everything—burgers, tacos, pizzas, and some healthier options too. It’s not fine dining, but it’s consistently tasty and satisfying. The truffle fries, and Korean BBQ wings are fan favorites and definitely worth trying. Service can be hit or miss depending on how busy it is. Sometimes it’s super attentive, other times a bit slow—but the staff is generally friendly and helpful.

I’ve eaten here multiple times Fresh beers great… Watermelon margarita is my sisters favorite. (Pass on the dragonfruit one) The mushroom truffle pizza amazing. Crust thins crispy and chewy. And the truffle mushroom green onion combo with a drizzle of special sauce. Yummmmm 5/5 Burger sliders 5/5 Sweet potato fries 4/5 Tuna sashim5/5 Brussels sprout spicy sweet crispy 4/5 Calamari. Ok but not very special. Batter to meat ratio is not good….too much batter …only taste batter but it is extra crispy 3/5 Not a fan of truffle fries Cheese curds are only ok 3/5 Tuna nachos—I really wanted to like this the fresh tuna and avocados And cilantro….but the fried nacho (freshly made in store) was just too greasy, it through off the balance 3/5

Great Beers & Appetizers at Yard House – Santana Row Stopped by Yard House at Santana Row with a friend for a casual afternoon hangout, and overall it was a solid experience. The atmosphere is lively and modern—perfect for grabbing drinks, catching a game, or just people-watching in the heart of San Jose’s upscale Santana Row. We ordered one of their signature yard-long beers, which comes in a tall, narrow glass that definitely turns heads. While it’s not literally a yard long, it’s close—around 32 oz—and makes for a fun experience if you’re looking to split with someone or just go big. The beer was cold, fresh, and they have a great rotating tap selection. I appreciated the variety—from IPAs to lagers and seasonal brews. For appetizers, we went with the nachos and chicken wings. The nachos were loaded and came out hot—crispy chips piled high with melted cheese, black beans, jalapeños, tomatoes, and a generous dollop of guac and sour cream. Definitely good for sharing and surprisingly filling. The wings were also solid—crispy outside, juicy inside. We went with a classic flavor (Buffalo, I believe), and it hit the spot. Not mind-blowing, but exactly what you’d expect from a quality sports bar-type spot. If I had more room, I probably would’ve explored more of their menu, because there’s a lot of variety—burgers, tacos, even poke nachos. Service was friendly and relatively quick, even though the place was decently packed. Our server checked in at the right times and kept things flowing without being intrusive. The only reason I’m giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is that while everything was good, nothing really stood out as exceptional or uniquely memorable. It’s reliable and hits all the right notes, but doesn’t quite push into “must-visit” territory for me. That said, I’d absolutely come back, especially for happy hour or game day. Pro tip: If you go during peak hours, expect a bit of a wait. But Santana Row is a great place to walk around while you wait for your table.

Really great food with huge portions, as always. Their beer menu is massive. I love Yard House. Unfortunately their speaker seemed to be malfunctioning because every 5-10 mins the soccer game on TV was randomly blasted so loud I could hardly think and everyone in the restaurant was looking around staring at each other wondering what was going on. Please fix your audio system to avoid hurting your guests' eardrums

Yard House is the perfect spot for beer lovers and foodies alike! They have an impressive selection of draft beers, offering something for every palate. The place is massive and usually packed, creating a lively and energetic vibe. Their late-night happy hour from 10-12 PM is a great deal, making it even more enticing. We absolutely loved their iconic onion ring tower and found all their appetizers to be delicious and well-prepared. The drinks and overall atmosphere make it a fun spot to hang out with friends and enjoy a great evening. Highly recommend!

2nd time I visited Yard House. My 1st visit wasn't pleasant but this 2nd time was totally the opposite.. I was with a group of friends and we ordered a selection of items, but their traditional chicken wings are one of the best I have ate... Very crispy and very meaty

Our graduation dinner at Yard House was fantastic! The cocktails were absolutely delicious, and the food was just as impressive. What really topped off the evening was our server, who was incredibly kind and attentive. It was the perfect celebratory meal 🙌👌
