It's a gem in Corpus Christi. It's the perfect place for special occasions 💕 It's so warm to be greeted by the owners once you stepped in the restaurant. Looking at the photos on the walls of the entrance hall, I already felt so welcomed and like visiting my granny at her home. Then, the attention to details also caught my heart; like serving salad in cold plates, making simple salad with fresh veggies (you can definitely taste the difference in the cucumbers and carrots used here!) and the unique house blend dressings. The entrees are solid gold. I understand why they only need a one-page menu! Will definitely come back and check out more on the menu!

Do NOT judge this book by its cover. The service is amazing and attentive. The food was delicious! We had the crab cakes-wonderful, stuffed mushrooms-rich, bagged fish, pistachio crusted drum and salmon. Everything was fresh and tasty.

Google
Excellent place on Ocean drive, great food, service, drinks, hospitality, and views. Their seafood is simply awesome. We had escargot, flounder, and tiramisu. Yum!!

I stumbled upon this restaurant by accident while searching for places to eat in the area one of the best mistakes I’ve ever made! The food was so good that I had to come back the very next day just to try more from the menu. The waitstaff was incredibly friendly and knew the menu inside and out, which made ordering even easier. So far, I’ve tried the fried shrimp platter—absolutely delicious—the black Angus ribeye, which was so tender I could cut it with a fork, and the clam chowder, which was rich and flavorful. Even the salad was fresh and well-prepared. They also have a fantastic bar menu with a great selection of specialty cocktails, wines, and beers, perfect for pairing with their amazing dishes. But that ribeye? That alone is enough to bring me back again! Can’t wait for my next visit.

We tried this place for the first time on Valentine’s Day. We made a reservation for 7pm but didn’t get seated until 7:30pm. No big deal, it was pretty packed and the guy explained they were under staffed. Understandable. We sat down and ordered and service was great. We had Oyster Rockefeller for our appetizer and let me tell you. Ahhhhhhhhhmazing. I will never be able to have these anywhere else and think they are good. We got drinks and they were great too. They didn’t taste cheap like some places we have gone. We ordered and the food was out at a decent time, I got the Lobster Thermidor and I was in heaven. I can’t express how wonderful their food was. It’s so rare for us to go to a restaurant and eat and we are both 100% happy. That’s so very very rare for us. So thank you. We will most definitely be back.

Google
Me & my Wife went recently for our 6 year anniversary. The owner sat us by the window with a view of the ocean & she was the sweetest lady making sure everyone was enjoying there food. We loved the appetizers we had two different ones the fried calamari & crab stuffed mushrooms. The mushrooms were so soft with a creamy crab sauce & the calamari was not too chewy & very good texture. Then for our entree’s we had the Shrimp DeJonghe & the fried Shrimp. The fried shrimp comes with cocktail sauce, tartar sauce & orange spicy sauce. The shrimp were A good size & the batter on them was very crunchy. The shrimp DeJonghe was shrimp with noodles, green beans ,corn & mushrooms. It was 10 out of 10. Then we followed with dessert with the cheesecake & it was very creamy & not too dry. Best place for 5 star food & great views. Very romantic place & it’s has been open since 1975. Best restaurant in Corpus Christi

Google
The food was way overpriced and hit or miss. The chowder was absolutely delicious. The crab stuffed mushrooms had no flavor whatsoever and tasted like a wet sock. The atmosphere is nice and so is the waitstaff. However, the owner's wife needs to retire. She was very rude when we showed up without a reservation and wanted to dismiss us until her husband said they could take us. Sounds like she treats most new customers this way in reading the other comments. It was something I wanted to try out after seeing it on the Texas Bucket List, but I will not be back.

Google
Parking is limited and the lighting is fairly dim. While the staff was nice, it took about 5 minutes after we sat down for a waitress to swing by our table -- they weren't busy either. Food takes forever to come out and for the price, there is not enough food. 1/4 cup of rice and 1/2 a squash does not cut it for a $40 plate. The shrimp dish Dejoghe(?) had an odd flavor and only came with 6 medium shrimp ($38 plate). The paper bag fish was so/so with a small fillet ($40.) The bread you get in the beginning might cut your mouth with how hard it is. The clam chowder was good, and their salad dressing was okay. Unsatisfied overall and not worth the $$$. Saw this place listed in a "must visit..." I beg to differ.

Yelp
Food amazing A+ Service outstanding A+ Ambiance very coastal A+ Dress casual dress nice your choice. It works here. I've been to some of the finest sea food restaurants in my day and this place is in my top 3. The staff is of a 5 star caliber Had a bit of an emergency they were so very helpful Cashing us out in a hurry.. make sure you make a reservation cause it packs up fast on weekends. Im not a huge calamari fan but are you kidding me..never ever had it so tender and spiced to perfection. The salad was spinach and fresh olives onions tomatoes and their dressings are above the top. Don't get me started on the home made bread..and the butter is whipped soft..if you don't experience this place you missed out on the cutest most nostalgic part of Corpus Christi that serves some of the best sea food I've ever tasted. Bring your wallet cause it's every bit worth it.

Yelp
Outside is sooooo deceiving THIS is fine dining! Very quaint but the food is outstanding and the Servers are on their game. Sierra my server was excellent. Chowder and Shrimp DeJonghe was one of the best ever! Such a jewel!

Sharon M.

Yelp
Amazing!!! Not much to look at from the outside Inside feels like grandmas house ( old) Service and food are beyond compare. All of the seafood entrees were exceptional. We had escargot, cevechie, and oysters Rockefeller for appetizers. I had the market drum. Everything was chefs kiss wonderful

Yelp
I had a customer dinner here back in August. The food was ok. It was nothing spectacular. They charged me an amount that was different from the receipt. It was only a difference of $2.38 but since it was on my company card, I needed it corrected. After multiple phone calls and emails it still hasn't been resolved. I am appalled and totally disappointed by their service. It is terrible! I will never go back here again and I will not recommend this to anyone! Food was mediocre and service is despicable. They don't know the basics of customer service.

Brandy S.

Yelp
I am so glad we made this drive to try this gem. It is expensive but worth it! Should not have ordered the special for the evening and ordered a menu staple. Still a great experience

Kaye M.

Yelp
Went with a group of nine and it was fantastichad many appetizers, entrees, salad, soup and desserts and no one in the party was disappointed! I will go back!

Yelp
The food was amazing. Unfortunately the service left a lot to be desired. I would wholeheartedly recommend you come here for the food. It was delicious. Just don't get Mary Sue for a server. She was rude. We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary and she left me in tears for her attitude and comments.

Yelp
For a restaurant rated so highly on Yelp, I was very disappointed with my visit here. I was not expecting to find out that this restaurant's exterior looked more like a house than a restaurant. I came for dinner service so I was confused if we went to the wrong location or not. There is not much seating inside either, but the ambiance was pretty good. Seems like a spot more for locals who frequent this place. I did not expect the menu to be so limited; there wasn't really much selection, but even so, the food took over an hour to arrive. The food was mediocre at best and insanely overpriced. The quality and quantity were not there for the prices they were charging. None of the entrees were enjoyable (all were pretty bland) but the appetizers were decent (Chowder, Oyster Rockefeller, Crab-Stuffed mushrooms). I do not recommend this place - There are far better options in Corpus.

Yelp
We spend our 21st Anniversary here but will be back! What a view and fresh fish/seafood entrees can't be beat. Make sure you pay attention to the daily specials and make a reservation in advance!! Highly recommend!!!

Holly H.

Yelp
I never noticed this Restaurant Until I watched Texas Bucket List. The food was excellent. Great service. We tried Lobster Thermador and the other couple had the stuffed Black Drum. The Sweet Great couple who own were so nice and welcoming

Sherry W.

Yelp
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The server was super knowledgeable about the menu (she had worked there 25yrs). Her recommendation were spot on. This restaurant was featured on The Texas Bucket List show, which is how we discovered this gem! Highly recommended the food and service!

Yelp
39 years ago went on our first date. Thursday went with our oldest child his wife . It was still good hasn't changed although they could update and expend.

John B.

Yelp
We took our friends here to celebrate 55th wedding anniversary. What a treat they had. Entrees were cooked perfect, market fish was black drum. Wine selection very extensive. Even though this restaurant has been around for close to 50 years they continue to put out delicious food. Our waitress was very cordial and attentive in spite of a packed house!
google avatar

Yelp
Good food, service and atmosphere! Mel was such a great waitress and took excellent care of us! The restaurant is quaint and overlooks the water.

Yelp
Food was excellent! Service, wonderful! Met the owner and he was so nice and so friendly! Fine dining at a very casual place. It's cozy, it's eclectic, and just really good food. Don't expect that quality of food at this place. Don't judge a book by its cover! Saw many comments about "run down" or "saw cats outside" like so what. The quality of ingredients and the servers and the experience are well worth it....in my opinion, anyway!

Barron H.

Yelp
The old saying, big surprises covered in small packages, certainly pertains to this incredible restaurant. Although very small, they serve up huge flavors! Definite must go-to for that very special night!
google avatar

Yelp
I have dined at this restaurant since the 1980s and the food has always been terrific. Please bring back the del Monico potatoes as they created a flavor memory that can't be duplicated anywhere else. The staff has always been accommodating and if I ever had an issue it was quickly addressed. Anytime I make it back to Corpus, this is where I make sure I make a stop. The only place I know of where I am sated and when I walk out of the Yardarm and when I catch a whiff of the kitchen, it makes me want to turn right around and go back inside and order more of their delicious food!
google avatar

Yelp
What a fantastic little hidden restaurant in Corpus right on the water. This is very easy to miss when driving by, as it almost looks like a little house. It may not look like much on the outside, but this is absolutely a fine dining restaurant owned locally. This is one of the nicer restaurants I've been to on my travels to Corpus. They open at 5:30pm and we were able to get a table for 3 people with no problem at all. It is very quaint and small inside though, so I'd recommend calling before showing up with a larger group. The service was great and the food was mouth watering. They have daily specials to choose from as well. Full bar. Pretty large menu and views of the bay. You can't go wrong. Make sure to stop in here and support this local business!

Alan P.

Yelp
Tried it out thanks to bucket list tv show. probably would have just passed by but glad i stopped in. stuffed flounder and pecan crusted drum were both great! our waitress was a doll and the mojitos were on point. highly recommend

Birdy R.

Yelp
We had our first dinner here 2 weeks ago on the occasion of a 'courting the parents' dinner. The ambience was relaxed, yet dignified; our waitress a gem, giving delightful descriptions of different dishes. There is a fine selection of wines by glass and by bottle. The view is lovely. We all chose a different dish, so we could try each others' meals. Same with dessert. Nothing disappointed. It was a perfect evening. Highly recommend! My daughter says the crème brûlée is the best dessert because you can tap the crust. We tried the cheesecake and mousse au chocolat and all were divine.

Yelp
Service was fantastic! Food was fantastic! Ambiance was so welcoming! We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
A bit pricey and the food was disgusting. Amazing how someone can take something simple like fried shrimp and turn it green by adding herbs that taste like ass.

Maria Luisa V.

Yelp
Amazing Food Great Service Wonderful View I Love been going seems 2003. And it's the place to go Greek Cuisine I give it Five Star Restaurant
google avatar

Vernon C.

Yelp
This place has incredible food and an awesome ocean view. Probably the best clam chowder I've ever had. Absolutely delicious. The crab stuffed mushrooms were very good. They had made from scratch dressing for their incredible salads. I ordered beef medallions, but they gave it to me in one filet, turned out it was super delicious, a little well done on the outside,, tender and delicious inside, on a bed of pasta, so good.
google avatar

Stacy J.

Yelp
Great food and exceptional service. The ambiance is very nice and a touch of romance. It's a very quiet non assuming place that you may easily pass driving. Ask the locals and you will quickly find out this is a favorite. If you like escargot then try theirs! Fresh seafood on the menu. It's on ocean drive so will have a nice view of the ocean
google avatar

Klin L.

Yelp
To start with food, everything I've had here I literally wanted to lick the bowl. Even the side salad was weirdly good. While their entree's are on the pricier side of corpus seafood, it is all locally caught and perfectly cooked. Comes with a soup and a salad. Also, I feel like their drinks and their apps were reasonably priced. Drinks were definitely strong and tasty. We had the crab stuffed mushrooms and they were amazing. Crab cakes were awesome too. I had the special which I think was drum in a bag and it was mouth watering good. My husband had the ling and he liked it too. Sides were delicious. Everything was really perfect. What you have to understand about this place is that it's like a mom and pop restaurant that's fine dining. It's tiny. Reviews talking about them acting confused when you walked in 30 min before closing should be more of a reflection of the reviewer. You should def make a reservation. Just a tip, even though they don't open till 5:30 you can call earlier in the day and reserve a table. They are very nice people who sit on a very sought after piece of land in corpus and probably have to fight to keep that land year after year. They're worth supporting. I am a corpus native who has tried every seafood place we have and this is where I would tell out of town people to go for the best seafood. It's really the best seafood meal I've had in town. If you want cheaper, last second service, try snoopy's. We are lucky to have fine dining family owned restaurants like this.

Matthew S.

Yelp
This is the best restaurant in Corpus for my money. Exquisite seafood dishes you won't get anywhere else. Everything on the menu is terrific. The service is always excellent. The atmosphere is great as well. It's quiet and classy, but you can wear anything you want and not be out of place. I only gave it 5 stars because they wouldn't let me give 10.

Al L.

Yelp
It was my son's birthday and after reviewing decent restaurants in the area, we decided on Yardarm. A shack! Horrible parking but the place was packed, a good sign. Small but cozy place and comfortable despite being very hot outside. Went in and the old lady that greeted us made me feel very uncomfortable. A smile would have been a far better approach. Good thing we did' t see her any more after that. Then we were seated. For being such a high rated restaurant, you would think they've have fancier menus. A sheet of paper....wine selection was above average and pricing was just what you expect to pay at the store. Stags Leap always a good choice. We ordered. The beef was raw. Tasty though. A few more minutes would have made a huge difference. The fish with capers was solid and so was the Lobster. Gazpacho and chowder were both good. Good size salad. The desserts were just ok. No expresso available. Too bad. $300 what I would expect to pay. Tweak the place a little and you have a winner. Service was outstanding and you don't have to wait a long time to be served.

Emily M.

Yelp
We enjoyed our meal and had good service! We enjoyed the clam chowder and salad that came along with each meal.

Al B.

Yelp
This place is a local institution. The food is great and the service is very attentive. My wife and I have been coming here for over 30 years.
google avatar

Jo S.

Yelp
Great service. Food was cooked perfectly. I was concerned about previous reviews regarding service and food. But that was not our experience. Our server, Cynthia, was very attentive with on point suggestions. Never intrusive. The calamari was delicious. Our salads came with "marinated" carrots that were so tasty. Cynthia advised they are soaked in a nutmeg(?) brine. So yummy. My flounder was cooked perfectly. Tender. Delicious (I appreciate it was not overcooked). My date had the shrimp newberg and said it was "perfect'. Seasoning was perfect on everything. Dessert was key lime pie (super tart - great taste) and creme brûlée. Overall. We loved the experience. We will return.

Tatjana Faith M.

Yelp
It was a good meal in a casually elegant rustic setting. Husband and I tried the lobster thermadore. Tasty, rich. I am eager to try other parts of the menu. Our waiter was new, it was his first day, and he did well, was very attentive.
google avatar

Lamar S.

Yelp
The food was amazing! Great personal service. Such a delight! Ambiance was most welcoming and distinctive well thought out menu. Great wine choice!
google avatar

Dean R.

Yelp
I started off killing a roach in the parking lot. We arrived 30 minutes before closing time. When we walked in the staff was eating at the bar and acted like we were interrupting them. After being seated by the eating employee, he returned to let us know they already closed the kitchen and we would not be served. We couldn't leave fast enough. I wanted to support a local individually owned business, but ended up at Landry's for a great meal with fantastic service. I will never be back.

Yelp
Had Date Night with my wife here. The atmosphere is very unique and intimate. The Owner and his wife run this Restaurant. On Ocean Dr in Corpus Christi with Awesome Views. Excellent Experience And food is Amazing. We look forward to coming back. Definitely special kind of hidden gem. Make reservations well worth wait.
google avatar

Don S.

Yelp
I am a foodie, I can't believe I waited 5 months to try this place. Definitely over price for mediocre food. Environment was nice, waitress was great, owner...can you look less prejudice?! Chowder was the only thing we liked. I don't like to write negative reviews so I'll say, give it a try and be your own judgment.
google avatar

Sheril S.

Yelp
It's been a while since I last dined at he Yardarm, since I no longer live in the area. I was delighted to learn they are still open and was excited to go again last night, and to find the same owners! The atmosphere was cozy and reminiscent of Cape Cod, the service excellent, and the food outstanding, just as I remembered from years past. I had oysters Rockefeller, with gazpacho soup, salad, sour dough bread and Chardonnay. Other family members had shrimp dejonghe, and bouillabaise, all delicious. Then my favorite, the chocolate mousse and after dinner cocktails. I am so pleased to find a restaurant that has not changed over the years, menu the same, outstanding food and service unchanged. Highly recommended.
google avatar

Rob D.

Yelp
While visiting friends, we visited the Yardarm to enjoy seafood that one can only get on the coast. Alas, it did not go well. Honestly, the cozy setup and view of the water would otherwise make it a super date-night restaurant, but lackluster food, limited selection, and the distraction of the owners bickering among themselves. For context and clarity, it is mid-October, and when I ordered oysters on the half-shell, I was told that they "haven't had oysters all season". Five of the menu items are oyster dishes and, if it had been "all season" or more than a few days of a supply issue, it would be appropriate to give a notification (a sign, covering the menu selection, etc.). I also wouldn't use the term "ceviche" to describe what was brought out, either. I really think that somewhere, someone in the organization has a vision and ideas that could be wonderful, but something else prevents their blossoming. The lady of the house (owner) spent her time, huffing and complaining to a staff member (maybe a son or relative), scowling, and marching sporadically through the dining area. Mind you, she was making no effort to hide it. She wasn't loud, but it was enough to be uncomfortable.
google avatar

Kathy W.

Yelp
Lovely dishes specious seafood. Gaspatcho is absolutely delicious. You'll love any and every dish. They've been there for at least 40 years. Perfecting each special more like 5 not the 3.5 I see on ratings
google avatar

Christopher S.

Yelp
BUYERS BEWARE; Establishment is discriminatory. RESERVATIONS REQUIRED (unless you are a regular, or mostly Caucasian). Came in from out of town. Stopped here for food. They asked for a reservation. Obviously it was a tactic to get minorities to leave. Pass this restaurant. They are trash.
google avatar

Erika C.

Yelp
I literally did not need a knife to cut my steak. The food is exceptional, so much so that I have a hankering for their escargot as I write this. One slight downside--it's LOUD. Popular restaurant, close quarters... I get it. Don't expect to be able to have an intimate conversation there if it's dinnertime on a weekend, but that's probably just evidence of how good the food is.

Eugene T.

Yelp
First time there , the food was so delicious!!! They had homemade salad dressing , the clam chowder soup was also delicious and so was the ribeye I had , the tea was soo goood !!!! And especially the service we got there !! A shout out to Cynthia for serving us and telling us the specials she was on top of it , never had to ask for a refill !!! Thanks , Cynthia!!!!
google avatar

Debbie H.

Yelp
One of the best restaurants in town! The food is always excellent! Friendly staff and environment! A beautiful view. I highly recommend!

Dennis M.

Yelp
We always look forward to our trip to Corpus that would not be the same without dining one evening at the Yardarm. Our service is always great along with the food, especially the nightly specials. After reading some of these postings, apparently some definitely did not pertain to this restaurant. The owners are both in their 80's and are there to greet their new and long time customers not because they have to, but because they enjoy it and have a restaurant that is unique in both food and atmosphere. My wife always orders the pan fried shrimp.
google avatar

Kirk A.

Yelp
Public service announcement. I don't post negative reviews but this place was rated way too high on yelp. It has character (read between the lines that it needs some obvious maintenance). The calamari was a small serving and not cooked properly (rubbery). The chowder was good. The salad was sparse. The shrimp dish with pasta was the highlight of the meal. The fried shrimp well let's say I have had much better for half the price. The waitress must have been having a very bad day because our treatment was barely professional but that is her issue not the restaurants. Overall I would think that for the cost of the meal it should have been much better. We will not be returning.
google avatar

Robert O.

Yelp
Loved the food, view, and service. Would definitely come back. A bit pricey but we'll worth it. A foodie nirvana.
google avatar

Robert M.

Yelp
Food is great. Service was excellent. I will be back again. Ambulances have excellent prices were average.
