This quiet spot serves excellent and creative sushi using high-quality fish topped with things like yuzu salt, edible flowers, parmesan, truffle, and sun-dried tomatoes. "Every time a tuna craving strikes, we get flashbacks of the genius, slightly sweet ponzu jelly on top of Yashin Sushi’s soft toro and remember the profound urge to weaponise our chopsticks to secure the last piece of truffle-topped grouper. Nothing here comes with classic soy sauce. In its place, you’ll find a lip-smacking kiss of green chilli sauce on your Scottish salmon or burrata miso on the sea bass. We like to leave the fancy theatrics for restaurants like Yashin Sushi. It’s a small but decidedly upmarket Kensington spot that excels in drama by way of raw fish. The counter seating enables a whole lot of expert knife envy and thoughts around whether it’s socially acceptable to lean over and grab a little truffle-infused ponzu jelly.
