Yasmak Sultan Hotel | Best places to stay in Istanbul

"In easy walking distance of top sights such as the Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sofia and the Grand Bazaar, this traditional neoclassical-style hotel is a perfect base for first-time visitors to the city. The super friendly service – totally geared to helping you get around and enjoy the best of the city – is a huge plus, and when you’re finished pounding the pavements, the hotel’s Sultan Spa, with an indoor swimming pool and traditional Turkish hammam, are just the ticket. The comfortable prices, exceptional buffet breakfast and celebrated rooftop Olive restaurant (with lovely views over Old Istanbul) make this hotel a guaranteed winner for both couples and families. I had an excellent experience at Hotel Yasmak Sultan. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming, professional, and always ready to assist with a smile. The location is perfect — just a short walk to all the major historical sites like Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, and Topkapi Palace.||The room was clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained with all the amenities I needed. Breakfast was a highlight, offering a great variety of fresh and delicious options with a stunning view from the rooftop restaurant.||The hotel’s spa and pool were a great bonus — a perfect way to relax after a day of sightseeing. I truly appreciated the attention to detail and the warm hospitality throughout my stay.||Highly recommended to anyone visiting Istanbul — I would definitely stay here again!

This is a gem of a hotel that I find myself not wanting to review so that it remains a secret! It’s located centrally with easy access to places of interest as well as a wide range of restaurants and bars. Staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We decided based on our experience (rightly or wrongly) that Turkish hospitality needs to be studied by other countries. Everything is provided fresh at the lovely rooftop restaurant, when you go out and come back there’s ice cold water waiting for you at the reception, the rooms are immaculate and the spa section is lovely and serene. Definitely will be visiting again.

We stayed in connecting rooms at this hotel. Everything was fine. The breakfast was pretty good. We also had dinner at the rooftop restaurant, which was nice. The service is excellent. The only issue we had was you need to have or purchase swim cap for the pool, which I thought was odd. We didn't experience that anywhere else in Turkey or anywhere else we've travelled.

Great hotel, in a great location. I read it had a good breakfast; indeed, it does. The breakfast offering is extensive and you should definitely find something you'll like. The view from the restaurant is great and the service is great. You definitely want to go to the Turkish bath, in the spa; it was extremely refreshing. The rooms are small, by American standards, but I knew that coming in and don't really care. The room was clean and comfortable. The mattress is really comfortable; I was surprised because many hotels have hard mattresses. The shower is great; it gets hot fast. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. I think it is a great value in a perfect location.

Full review already online. Basically with great restaurant and perfect position. So go ahead and you will not be disappointed. Breakfast with absolutely anything you could want including views of the river that will make your day. We did not try the spa, but can't believe it would not be as good as the rest of the hotel.

Excellent service, very professional and helpful staff. Special thanks to Elif. There are many hotels in the neighborhood, but just comparing lobbies it is obvious that Yasmak Sultan is more reliable. Standard rooms are quite cramped, but very clean. If quiet is a requirement, bring good earplugs and ask for a room that is not along Ebussuud Cd as the street is very noisy. Food at breakfast is diverse, tasty and plentiful. The hotel has a very convenient location, right across the tram T1 line and in the vicinity of Sirkeci train station.

Hotels staff at the reception were rude and unhelpful, I had booked a taxi for airport transfer from a different company and they wouldn’t help him. He couldn’t find parking near the hotel due to them blocking the parking near the entrance and so the driver rang them and they refused to help him saying that it isn’t there problem and is his. He had to park in the middle of the road risking a parking fine. The only reason they deserve the one star is because of the housekeeper she was lovely and really helpful always making sure our room was clean

This was our first time in Istanbul, and although it was a bit exciting, we definitely recommend this hotel. The rooms are small but clean and have enough space for your belongings. The staff is friendly and helpful. Most attractions are within about a 10-minute walk, with the tram just 1–2 minutes away and the ferry (vapur) about 10 minutes on foot. Definitely a great choice!
