This spot was always my childhood go-to in chinatown. This is my first time trying the flushing location and they have so many other items! They offer udon, ramen, takoyaki and other appetizers at this location. It’s super filling and really good! The udon broth definitely hit the spot, tasted like miso soup. We got the large rice balls too and they were really filling. They are also offering a new item: Hokkaido milk tea which I really enjoyed!

Google
Top favorite place to go in Queens to grab a quick bite and the only place I know that makes onigiri. I'm so happy to see this here because whenever I want to get onigiri I always have to go to kinokunyia to get there which is too far from me. The person at the register is very sweet and lovely to see and she does an amazing job at making tea definitely will be tipping her often for it. See you again!!! ^~^ Update: it's very disappointing that this location is closing and that the other location is just in Elmhurst luckily I work near it but I feel like this location wasn't good for the business because it's hidden but I strongly believe and recommend that in the future to open up a Yaya Tea place right in flushing main street where there's more foot traffic. People avoid this area of Queens because of the random women that try to get you to go into their business for "massages" and also because it's near the projects. I strongly believe that if you were to open up in the main street or Roosevelt area of flushing it would get more exposure and more customers.

Google
A bit high priced but the best vegan oniguri I have ever had, ample filling and served warm/sealed. They have an entire vegan oniguri menu to choose from, and the staff was so amazing- the woman working the counter was so nice and we chatted about our travels in Japan. This place is a must see

Google
friendly staff and delicious onigiri! really enjoyed the longanisa. online ordering is super convenient when you're in a rush :)

Google
The Jasmine green milk tea was one of the best I’ve ever had. Definitely coming back for more! The tea was also cheaper than most places around this area. Not sure if that’s just because it’s new but it’s very much worth it for the price.

Google
Very fast. I paid $6.50 for my Thai milk tea

Google
Nice employees & decor. Ordered a salmon rice ball and they gave me a tuna rice ball with the salmon labeled on it. It was mislabeled . Please be more careful next time. I’m extremely disappointed due to the fact I was looking forward to my meal.

I am a huge fan of Yaya’s!! I used to order from brooklyn, chinatown/les & elmhurst all the time! It always hit so I was soooo happy when they opened up in Flushing but when I ordered the large japanese, it was SO much rice. I feel like I ate all white rice and barely any fillings. It wasn’t like this in all the other locations so l’m super disappointed. I will not order from this location again because they fill up the onigiri with 90% rice.

Yelp
Overall a great place to grab some casual bubble tea and rice balls. First time I tried Yaya tea was in Chinatown, what got to me were the quirky names of their bubble teas---my friends and I would get a chuckle every time one of us ordered a large boyfriend or a First Love. Opened in place of where yifang used to be, unfortunately they will be closing this month. I'll continue to buy Yaya tea whenever I am nearby at their other locations.

Yelp
Rice balls and Boba Spot in Flushing Queens 135-15 40th Rd Flushing, NY 11354 Yaya's has been around for so long and the Chinatown location was the OG spot for me tbh. The Crawfish Riceball was def my fav but overall good spot for small bites and perfect for a picnic

Yelp
The Salmon Rice Ball at Yaya Tea is a popular item, particularly appreciated for its balance of flavors. It's made with cooked salmon, mixed with a touch of sweet mayo, and topped with black sesame seeds. Reviews are generally positive, with customers enjoying the onigiri-style rice ball as a filling snack. However, some have mentioned that it can occasionally be a bit dry due to the lack of mayo but i always get extra extra spicy mayo on the side to constantly which makes it even better If you're into simple yet satisfying rice balls and enjoy savory flavors, it's worth trying. Yaya Tea's extensive menu of teas and rice balls, including other options like shrimp tempura and spicy crawfish, makes it a versatile spot for a quick bite The service is always quick easy and efficient which is a plus for me especially if i am rushing The ambiance is great inside if you like to sit down and eat your food before you head back on the road They also have teas and chips to purchase with very unique flavors this place is highly recommended

Yelp
What we ordered: Taro Milk Tea, Oolong Milk Tea, and a Fruit Tea. Taro is always my go-to, but this spot was a bit underwhelming for me. I couldn't taste much of the taro at all, even the color seemed to be a decent lavender color. It tasted too milky and watered down. I do like that this spot offers food and snack options. Reading the other reviews, it seems like the options are pretty decent. If I stop by again, perhaps I'll give the food a try but the bubble teas are a no for me.

Yelp
We ordered 2 drinks - Blue Blood and I Love Yaya ($4.95 each) and 2 onigiri - tuna onigiri and yaya chicken ($4.15 each). Blue Blood is one of their most popular drinks, which consists of blueberry, strawberry, lychee, and black tea. It was refreshing, and I did see a dried blueberry on the bottom of the drink, however, due to it being fruit syrups it did have a little artificial taste. On the flip side, I Love Yaya, which consisted of strawberry, mango, and passion fruit oolong tasted pretty watered down. It was weird, but compared to other drink places, the price is more affordable for the size. The tuna onigiri tasted good, but the yaya chicken was quite salty. It's nice that they have a small and large size, but I've definitely had better onigiri elsewhere at a better price point.

Yelp
Such a cute logo! I needed to try it while passing by. They had a big variety on the menu: snacks, onigiri, boba, and more! I tried the Lychee Tree, which was disappointing. Just tasted like watered down lychee and strawberry syrup. I didn't taste any notes of tea. The onigiri was a highlight! Decent option you can't find elsewhere in the area. A convenient quick bite. I recommend the salmon one! I also tried the Shrimp Tempura (3 Pcs) and this just tasted like pre-made freezer tempura you could find at Mitsuwa Marketplace. I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Yelp
Was able to come during soft opening. Grand opening is 7/1/2023. There are a few kinks they need to work on and I hope they are here to stay for awhile. I ordered a spam rice ball and a chicken rice ball. When I looked inside my bag both rice balls said spam on the stickers even though one was actually chicken when my husband ate one. The rice was a bit hard and not soft/chewy like other places. The spam had a nice flavor and the chicken my husband said was only ok. I liked the jasmine milk tea I ordered with 30% sugar. You can really taste the tea and it's not overpowered by the milk taste. Will be back to try other drinks and food items.

Yelp
I never had an onigiri before so it was my first time trying the Japanese street style snack on the go! I was craving it because what Onigiri consist of is compact of rice and filling inside (meat or veggies). It was my first time at the little packing house that is like a food court with few vendors inside. Taya Tea is located inside on the right when you enter. I ordered an ice drink The Car which has peach and white tea and excluded the lemon flavor. It was refreshing and not sweet at all. You have option to order small or large onigiri and I had chosen two small ones. I ordered the Salmon and the Tuna Onigiri to go. Service was great and it didn't take too long thank goodness!! I ate my onigiri 30 minutes later and first I am happy they didn't get soggy!! The packaging is great and the rice didn't disappoint at all or fall apart!! Both the Salmon and the Tuna were great! However, they were both salty... and the mayo ratio consistency was barely there. They need to add more mayo in their filling. The tuna filling was more compared to the Salmon onigiri- the salmon onigiri was practically more rice barely any salmon filling :/ The portion size for both of the small onigiri is filling!! Would love to be back and try other flavor of the onigiri's!!!

Yelp
Q Quick grab for boba. Fast boba at hand, k-pop music lol. Try everything here that's for sure.

Yelp
Ordered the Japanese onigiri (small and large sizes available), which was pretty good. It has Japanese seaweed, mayo, hard boiled egg, and imitation crab. It's a nice filling snack. We also had two drinks with the BOGO grand opening promo. We got the "boyfriend" drink and it was pretty good. I got 50% sugar and yogurt pop bubble since they don't come with toppings. It's a cute and small store located right at the entrance of a tiny food hall. Minimal seating of 2 tables that can seat up to 5-7 people at the back but seats are shared throughout the food hall. Workers there were really kind even though they're a bit swamped.

Angel F.

Yelp
Yummy! They're located in a small food hall, right at the entrance. Service was quick and easy. I really loved how their menu items had creative names like the "Boyfriend", "First Love", or "Better Life". Pretty funny saying "I would like a Boyfriend please!" This was my first time here and I got the "Boyfriend" which is a Mango and Lychee White Tea. It was pretty good and the default level of sweetness was perfect. I also added herbal jelly which helped balance out the flavors.

Annie C.

Yelp
I got the "sunrise" drink and it is very good! I added popping boba and mango jellies, and they all taste superb. My little sister got 2 onigiris and they're good, but she didn't like them because they're not sushi rice or whatever. For me, it was good either way. The service was good, and the cashier was patient. The overall ambiance of the store was nice, and the k-pop theme is there I recommend!!

Yelp
Sooooooo, I was their first customer on their grand opening day today (July 1 2023). Super super friendly staff, very knowledgeable about their products and gives great recommendations on what to get if you're not too sure. Store is literally a small corner, very clean and nice decor, but their menu is quite large. Special shout out to Maggie. Idk if she is the store manager or just a regular employee but she's awesome!! I got 2 drinks, one was The Boyfriend and another was Sweet temptation, along with a Shrimp tempura onigiri and a spam onigiri. Everything was wonderful. (Maggie: if you're reading this, keep doing what you do best, and that is providing exceptional customer service! And keep smiling cus that smile can definitely brighten up anyone's day)

Vincent Y.

Yelp
Got a large spam Onigiri for about $6.50. It was good and had great flavor. You can taste each ingredient: the mayo, spam, rice, and seaweed. The spam to rice ratio is like 1:3 so I wish there was a little bit more spam in there since there was a lot of rice.

Genesis D.

Yelp
Love the rice balls! Drinks are great too! Favorite one is boyfriend or second chance. Service always friendly! Always clean and over all a good vibe.

Wendy Z.

Yelp
Came during grand opening for the BOGO deal. My friend and I both got the boyfriend, recommend by an employee, with 75% sugar. I got lychee topping while my friend got popping boba. It's was the perfect drink. Very refreshing, not too sweet. We also got the Japanese onigri and it was very flavorful. The workers there were very friendly and was able to answer questions we had about the menu.

Anitej P.

Yelp
We were here a day before the grand opening of the place, so there wasn't many people around the shop(it's one of many on the building) The onigiri(rice balls) were really nice and easy to eat. Definitely recommend this place over others in queens for some quick Asian food!!

Michelle L.

Yelp
went on one of the days when they had a bogo deal! the flavor is a little artificial but it's still pretty good. i like the cup design, it's very cute!

Peggy Y.

Yelp
Cute milk drinks made so good. Taro and Thai iced are my favorite. The fruit tea was less flavorful than the one down the block. Adjustable sugar and ice levels. Warm rice balls I tried the yaya and crab. Open til 8 pm.
