When they say don’t judge a book by its cover this is the spot they were talking about. Definitely a hidden gem in San Bernardino. Very nice atmosphere and servers were very friendly. I ordered the Cajun chicken sandwich and it was delicious. I will definitely be back soon!

First of all, the food was divine. Especially the New York style cheesecake. The waitress was so kind and was very patient with us. The place just had an overall amazing vibe.

OMG! first let me say I have not had a dining experience like this in a very long time. The staff was super friendly. Great atmosphere and very welcoming. Their cocktails were delicious. We got the salmon and the rack of lamb 🐑 which was worth every penny. The food was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be coming back.

We had our first experience at Ye Olde Lamplighter last night and it was well worth it. My husband and I both enjoyed ourselves. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. The reservations were full, but we were able to get a spot in the bus, which was perfect. It was in and I love that the decorations the staff were very friendly and alternative. We had the ribeye and the prime rib also which were good to perfection. The ribeye had wonderful normal and the prime rib had favor through and through. The clam chowder was delectable in the garlic bread was divine simple, but tasty. we will definitely be back again. I do suggest making reservations, although they will do their best to accommodate if you walk in, but there’s no guarantees. The location is what it is, but the restaurant is well worth it. A fine spot in San Bernardino to continue to give back to our community and keep small businesses thriving.

Came here after work on a Friday with my wife, and was not sure what to expect because it looks so low-key and the lights are so dim. My wife got a lemon drop and the bartender made it really well! I got a hangar 24 , pretty good selection. I was in thee mood for a steak so I tried the prime rib? ( my first time ever having it ,period) I honestly did not enjoy it, but this may have been my fault for experimenting with this dish since I was t even sure if I would like prime rib. I may come back for the burgers though, they sound good judging by the description (1/2 lb burgers) and toppings they offer. I love the dim east of lights and the fact that when you are in there you forget you are on 40th and waterman. The booths are nice and the restaurant itself seems sophisticated in many ways.

My husband & I love coming here for dinner! Everyone is so friendly, family owned & owners are always attentive to their guests needs & making everyone feel at home. The FOOD is always AMAZING, great quality & my favorite is the prime rib!

Small Cozy Tavern with amazing salad and honestly huge proportions!! I think everyone at the table had a take home box! I had the Cajun salad and it was too much for me to finish! 5/5 now one of my go-to spots for special occasions!

The ambiance was nice. The place is clean and the staff are very nice. Our waitress was very friendly and sweet. For my birthday I chose the brownie sunday and our waitress and the manager or owner sang Happy Birthday to me. It's a locals place. It's was a good birthday dinner! Thank you!!

Drinks are fine, the food isn't. Ordered their weekend special, queen cut and king cut. One with fries, other with a baked potato. Instead, we received 2 baked potatoes. The veggies were bland. The cuts of meat - while filling, were bland and tough. This place used to be really good, but recently I've been noticing diminishing quality.

I stopped in here on Thursday expecting a nice quiet dinner. Unbeknownst to me it was karaoke night. So it was a little bit loud, but people were having a great time and enjoying the karaoke and getting up to sing good for them. I know the place had changed hands and they seem to fix things up very nicely. The restaurant is well attended and nicely decorated. I've had steaks here before and they've always been good. This time. I opted for the appetizer platter. It had chicken nuggets, onion rings, fried zucchini , shrimp, and mozzarella sticks. I enjoyed it very much. The service was very good even though the place was packed and there's really one waitress doing the restaurant and one attending the bar. The one attending the bar would help out in the restaurant area when she could I really didn't have to wait for anything. They did a great job Serving us. I would definitely recommend this place if you're in a mood for steak or seafood I don't affordable price.

It was our first time coming here and it did not disappoint. My only regret was not getting the waitress name. Or perhaps after 3 drinks i forgot. I had the top sirloin and husband has the mushroom cheese burger. Both were amazing. And to top it all off, they had kareokee!! I was so enamored with the vibe and im begging my husband to make it our new regular place. All the kareokee participants were amazing and I hope I can come back soon! Also, if over 21 years old. try the Panty Dropper drink it was so good. Again our waitress was amazing and truly a gem of San Bernardino.

The service was very good and the food was really great. We each ordered the powerhouse and baked potatoe with all the goodies. Our meal was cooked to perfection and the dessert was just as tasty. We will be going back again in the very near future. I will try the ribeye next time and the prime rib the next.

Family owned great food and entertainment by the locals, try the mushrooms delicious actually everything is terrific a secret to the traveler but not the neighborhood!

What a hidden gem always wanted to try it since it's near by but we walked in what a wonderful welcome servers were excited!! So nice and pleasant , Soo good everything was great ! If you like desert it was the best cream brûlée banana rum flavor !! The girls got the Sunday ! Soup was great! So delicious week going to make it a weekly event !! Good music !!! This is the best steakhouse in San Bernardino. Where the steaks are so tender you don't need teeth to chew on it. Ye Olde Lamplighter is a must try restaurant. The kitchen is always busy cooking some amazing food. The food is always cooked to perfection. The staff is very friendly and attentive, they also have great drinks. I would generally include recommendations, but you can't go with anything on the menu, that includes side dishes and desserts. Every item is delicious and quality food is incredible consistent. The ambience is warm and cozy. I absolutely % recommend anybody to try this steakhouse.

This place was unexpected and last min for a birthday dinner and was great! Brie cheese appetizer was amazing!

I had such a wonderful experience the first time I was here. Sadly, today was to the contrary. We had a 7pm reservation. We were promptly seated and served our drinks, we ordered our food shortly after arriving. It was 8:45 and we had not yet received our food. I was upset but didn't want to be rude and just leave so we asked for our food to be packaged "to go" since it had been an hour and a half since we had placed our order. Coming from a food service background I understand inconveniences, emergencies, Hollidays,etc. but having to wait hour and a half for a steak to be grilled is unacceptable. I spoke highly of this place on my last review but sadly I don't think I'll be coming back. Our Valentine's Day dinner ruined.

Friday night. I've never been here. Now I know why. Clam chowder was good. That's about it. I ordered a strawberry margarita. The weakest dam drink. Needless to say. I won't be back Ambiance a little too dark for me. The table cloth at the booth was a little too long. The same 3 Neil Diamond songs were on repeat Service. They constantly checked if we needed anything. To me, an attentive waiter would have noticed my margarita was 2/3rds full. A slurpee would have had more flavor. Later he asked me how everything was? The shrimp is salty and my drink is weak. 'Thats nice ' as he walked away. Lord have mercy. What a waste

As always an excellent meal Tonight we tried the baked brie & boy it did NOT disappoint for sure Also had a bowl of clam chowder and was really meaty! Yum We ordered the 22 oz porterhouse steak - medium rare cooked to perfection. This was on the special for $40 A bit of hard fat on the edge but nothing to cry milk about. Baked potato with all the fixings was delicious. No dessert tonight as we we stuffed. Tables were packed & we finished in just under 2 hours. Again. Thank you for a delicious dinner date once again Next time we will be bring a bottle of our vine collection to enjoy.

This place is home away from home !!! I got a "Ye Ole Lamplighter shirt and it makes me an official regular here !!! Food is amazing. Appetizers are amazing and the prime rib is on point!! Don't forget to come here on a Friday night to hit the karaoke!!!! Love it here !!!!!

I found Ye Old Lamplighter on Yelp while looking for a good place to celebrate my birthday with family. First off don't judge a book by its cover. The center that the restaurant is in is older & not updated. The interior is classic and long bar runs the front of the restaurant with two windows that give an excellent view of the mountains. 'We were greeted and seated right away. I ordered the Rack of lamb my partner ordered the Porterhouse Steak , mom had the sirloin . All served with soup or salad we opted for the clam chowder. Served with garlic bread. The rack of lamb was huge, cooked to perfection. Served with veggies and rice. The steaks were thick and cooked to orders. Dessert was the banana fosters cream brûlée., the cheese cake with chocolate sauce and a hot fudge sundae. Everything was excellent. Service was extremely friendly, the Restaurant is family owned and operated. Prices are very reasonable, wish I had taken pictures of the food but I was too busy enjoying it. I have it on my return list and we all have items we would like to try on a future visit.

Heard good things and had to try it for myself... Enjoyed a steak and egg breakfast with my hashbrowns EXTRA crispy just like I requested perfectly cooked. Waitress was polite and professional and the setting was relaxed and made me feel at home... I'll be back!

This place is a hidden gem. We came in from out of town and saw the reviews and they were the highest and we were not disappointed. It is a family owned business and the family was so nice and welcoming. We had the taco special, which had amazing salsa and was a great deal. My sons had the prime Rib and chicken Marsala and loved them. My daughter had the salad, which was loaded and large. We had desert too, cheesecake and the lemonchello cake. Overall amazing experience, so glad we got a chance to dine there.

We haven't been here in years. But decided to retry it. We went in around 5:00 on a Thursday. The food was good we had top sirlon with baked potatoes, vegetables and a salad. Bonus points in being the only place I've been to that still actually bakes their potatoes in aluminum foil, every other place microwaves them. It wasn't crowded there was a large party of 9 but that didn't interfere with our order. There is karaoke but we didn't stay to participate. I'd recommend this place to others.

We stopped by this hidden gem on the way home from Santa's Village up in Sky Park. We just wanted to have a drink or two and rest before the long drive home but we ended up having some prime rib! The service was great! We went in with 2 grumpy kids and they were laughing and eating 30 minutes later. It's a very interesting ambience, kind of like an old steakhouse meets a dive bar. We got there a little early around 5pm but by the time we left around 6:30, the place was packed!

Food was amazing I had fish n chips but substituted for a loaded baked potato no extra charge it came with bread 4 fish vegetables and a salad for only 20.00. My husband got the salmon with everything as well was very delicious. Service was excellent as well.

Had a wonderful karaoke date here last night (Friday). We were welcomed by Sean the bartender as soon as we walked in. I wished we hadn't already eaten dinner-- our server, who was great, said they have excellent food. We just ordered cocktails and enjoyed listening to everyone sing. This is a crowd of friendly regulars of various demographics. The place is dimly lit, very cozy, and the little strings of lights make the room inviting. The KJ was accommodating and professional and also a fantastic vocalist. It got live around 10pm and the list of singers was long. I'd recommend signing up for your personal bangers right from the start cuz you might only get to go up 2-3 times depending on how late you want to stay. If you want to enjoy a totally friendly, welcoming bar/restaurant with entertaining regulars, this is the perfect spot. I smiled all night long.

Ye Old Lamplighter for the win!...Went for the first time today with my son and I'm happy I did. We both ordered the rib eye medium rare. Delicious perfectly cooked. The place was awesome. Perfect lighting, a real treat. In the back ground music played, not your typical music but music that took you to another space. A comfortable space. I was told Thursday through Saturday they do live karaoke, I have to check it out. Thanks to three generations of lovely ladies that greeted us and made sure our experience was good and it was. I recommend Ye old Lamplighter. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

People, service, and food are amazing. Awesome owners n staff. Delicious food and cocktails. The new owners are very accommodating no worries if you have food allergies or restrictions they will make your visit wonderful. Prices won't break the bank. Enjoy! Bon Appetite

The new owners have done a fantastic job with the menu and entertainment on Wednesday evening. The food is amazing and so was the service. 2 people at my table got the steak dinner and said it was great. The salads were perfect and huge. The coconut shrimp was cooked to perfection. You definitely won't leave hungry. Fred Gomez plays Wednesday nights. So much fun. A great cozy restaurant.

Food and service was great. I had the rib eye steak dinner. The steak was cooked to perfection, medium well. Even the sides were really good. The shrimp cocktails were delicious. The place has a nice intimate feeling to it.

We booked a reservation for our parents' 65th wedding anniversary. We had a total of 25 people in our group. The owner Lisa gave us a separate room. She was so accommodating and helpful. She had the room ready and set up for us. We came in and added some decorations the day of. The food and service was amazing! Everyone loved their meals. Thank you!!!

First time last night although I've lived in the area for 35 years. This place is a huge winner! Food is great, service is great, and the ambiance is old school. I had the Nashville chicken sandwich for $13. Was served with a large salad, fries and yummy garlic bread. Definitely a value meal. The chicken sandwich was served with all the trimmings and Franks hot sauce. Will definitely be back bringing friends in tow. The kareoke was very entertaining.

Since Lisa and Dave bought this place last October, it runs like a well oiled machine. Orders are correct and come out quickly. Tables are cleared quickly. Drinks and food are amazing! Very welcoming atmosphere. So happy to see The Lamp get new, amazing blood in it!

This was our first time here, the staff is very welcoming, attentive and nice. The prices are great and the service was wonderful. We had the special porterhouse steak & flank steak, both came out cooked perfectly with a baked potato and a nice seasoned side of vegetables. The meal included soup or salad and garlic bread. The meal also includes soup or salad and we got salads which were nice and fresh and the ranch was delicious. We also had the sautéed mushrooms which were good & flavorful. We have definitely found a new spot.

The food was nasty AF! New owners must be cutting corners on the food quality. I got the queen prime rib. The cut was so tough I couldn't even eat it. I brought it home for my dogs. The chicken was also tough and flavor less. We are a family of four and we each had dinner and shared one appetizer. There is no way our bill should have been $177. I have no problem paying this price for a dining experience that's worth it. I couldn't even read what I was being charged for because the waiter wrote each item in chicken scratch. This place sucks!! I can't express this enough. Never again! I'll stay at DJ's.

Just had a wonderful dinner from Lamplighters. Got it to go. It was ready right on time. The food was absolutely amazing. It was hot and the steaks were cooked perfectly. I had the Clam Chowder.... WOW just might be the best Clam chowder I've ever had. We've been there for a sit down dinner before too. Service is always really good. Thanks for an amazing experience.

Years ago we love going to Ye Olde Lamplighter for dinner. I had read that it was now under new ownership so we went there last night to try it out. We met the owner and our waitress was Amanda. A very friendly atmosphere. I ordered Chicken Marsala and my husband had a Queen cut of Prime Rib. The food is amazing! It started with a crisp green salad and garlic rolls. The Chicken Marsala was tender and the sauce with mushrooms was delicious. The Prime Rib had very little fat and was tender. Overall we had great service and great food! We'll be eating there often. It was our first time here. My husband got the rack of lamb. It was tender and perfectly cooked. I got chicken Marsala this was also perfectly cooked and delicious. It was on a Saturday night. I felt they had a good crowd but our lovely waitress said it was light for a Saturday night. The atmosphere was very friendly and inviting. I was initially concerned because I noticed a musty smell when we first walked in but once in the dining area it was gone. It was a pleasant surprise to find such a good steak house in San Bernardino. We will definitely be going back.

I recently began revisiting Ye Olde Lamplighter since the New Owners have taken over and I can't say enough good things about my experiences. I have been there a handful of times in the last couple months and each time the experience grows. Their food product is exceptional especially in consideration of their reasonable prices. The service goes beyond wonderful as there are a number of different bodies simply there to make sure you're being taken care of properly!! The care being taken for the cleanliness and odor enhancements are very noticeable and speaking with other patrons they see the same improvements that I have noticed. Yes including the bathrooms. I also just happened to notice that when I first went back their Health Department Rating was a "B" and it now is an "A". Speaks volumes about the care being taken. Oh ya I almost forgot to mention that the Karaoke DJ is special and doing a fine job as well. Overall great experience!!!!!

Wow , I had the special chicken fried steak with sausage gravy and mashed potatoes! More than I could eat and so tender it melted in my mouth. The staff remembered my favorite drink! Amaretto sour! Made to perfection. Our waitress was fabulous and made sure everything was perfect.

We went on a Saturday 5 PM we are greeted by very nice people specials Was prime rib my wife said it was great cooked to perfection. I had the Cajun halibut wow it was large and cooked. Perfect the way I like it a variety of people working there kept coming by and making sure everything was OK and had everything we needed to make a great dinner. Can't wait to go back. Next time I'll get some pictures before we start in.

Wow this place is so amazing. We had clam chowder so yummy coconut shrimp such flavor stuffed pork chop is hard to put the fork away. And even the baked potato perfectly fluffy but the desserts Oh my oh my. Had to eat 1 set there and 1 set to go. Banana foster creme brulee. And lemon cake. And to go the waitress said I can have the crème brûlée it just won't look pretty who cares it's amazing crusty top being perfectly mixed with the banana and the lemon cake oh boy the frosting is not so sweet Then the amazing karaoke singers so fun to listen to so much talent

My favorite local bar and restaurant. Great food and drinks with very reasonable prices. Come in and have a drink and a bite. Family owned with great service.

Staff was helpful and friendly, everyone works together, the food TOOK FOREVER to come out and the starving size of fish was very small, but it was good food, and it was nice watching the staff work together. I beat this place was awesome during the 1980's
