"Ye Olde Waffle Shoppe, located on Franklin Street, was a popular restaurant among University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill students, professors, and visitors. Known locally as simply Ye Olde, the restaurant served inexpensive, yet hearty breakfast options, primarily focusing on waffles. Unfortunately, the COVID pandemic has made it difficult for the business to sustain operations as usual, leading to its closure. The reduction in the student population due to online learning significantly impacted its business." - Erin Perkins

Price: 5/5. Food perfectly priced and affordable. Many items cheaper than what you'd get at a Waffle House. Bigger quantities as well. Quality: 3/5. Typical food. Not overtly bland but not always perfectly seasoned either. Decent condiments, but could use a better hot sauce selection. Service: 5/5. Food came out quickly. Drinks consistently refilled. Great service. Cleanliness: 4/5. My spoon had odd little rust spots all over it, that I couldn't rub off. I used it, so I guess it didn't bother me that much.

This is a small restaurant. You do not want to come here when it's busy! I don't mind waiting on a table, but you have to stand in line in a narrow walkway, literally 1 foot away from people eating. The staff is very friendly and seem to be focused on cleanliness which I LOVE. Overall the food is good, but a little pricey - like, seriously $1.50 for a serving of whipped cream?! The waffle was maybe $8, but was too small/thin for the price.

The food did not have any flavor so I had to add hot sauce and salt/Pepper. I do not believe that this meal was worth $19... The Pancake was very bland and dry. I would not recommend this resturant.

This is a good breakfast place if you're looking for a quick sit down. The food was out within minutes of ordering it. Decent French toast. There's limited tables so they want you in and then out. Service is quick.

Great place for breakfast. There are a lot of breakfast options but I come here for the pecan waffles. Can't go wrong.
