The Best Tacos in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota | Eater Twin Cities

"During the pandemic, the owners of Zetta’s, a flatbread sandwich restaurant, opened Yeah Yeah Tacos as a pop-up, and eventually fully devoted themselves to taco slinging. Yeah Yeah’s menu is simple, but quality. Try the pork shoulder tossed in a shagbark hickory bacon glaze, or the elote and sweet potato that comes with fried cheese. The restaurant is currently closed through Saturday, May 3, for maintenance, but during normal business hours, online orders are accepted." - Cinnamon Janzer

Where to Eat on Minneapolis’s Eat Street Corridor | Eater Twin Cities

"The great minds behind Yeah Yeah kicked things off with their popular flatbread shop, Zetta’s, before transitioning to tacos, burritos, nachos, and bowls. Yeah Yeah is playful and creative with classic Tex-Mex flavors — try the juicy “Best Pork” carnitas, which are tossed in a sweet and salty shagbark bacon glaze. Vegetarians should try the elote, sweet potato, and radish tacos, which are filled to bursting with charred kernels of corn and cooling crema. It’s worth the extra dollar for the verdant, cilantro-flecked green sauce. Drizzle a bit on each bite." - Natalia Mendez

Absolutely delicious, highly recommend the best pork! The staff are so kind, definitely coming back - and worth the drive over (from customers from over an hour away)

Google
This was my first time ordering from here, and I'd definitely order again. The Elote & Sweet Potato Burrito is a unique and delightful vegetarian burrito! It was fresh, warm, and flavorful. I loved the spicy green sauce that came with it. The combo of rice, beans, corn, and sweet potato was perfect, and the textures were great. I loved the portion size of the rice and beans I ordered on the side. Great value.

Google
LITERALLY THE BEST BURRITO!! I had a life changing burrito in New Mexico and have been searching for YEARS for one on par ever since. I had the “Best Pork” burrito and it was so good I almost cried. Go to yeah yeah tacos, the burritos will change your life. The staff were so nice and it was good vibes all around, definitely going back!

Heather

Google
I’m rating on food and flavor. Definitely a 10/10. The food has all the elements of good Mexican. The salsa was thick and spicy. The meat was roasted and tender. The burrito was seared and nicely assembled. The Elote was citrusy and top with cheese and green onion drizzled with lemon and lime. 🍋‍🟩 They brought our food out to us packed in separate bags as requested. I’ll be back. Check it out and support these budding entrepreneurs.

Google
Best food I've had in a long time. Best chicken burrito rice and beans, salsa and queso in TC. Very friendly service. High quality food and great flavor! New favorite restaurant. Also great reasonable prices.

Google
Owner is really nice. They gave us good recommendations. We got taco Carnitas and taco and burrito. Carnitas and both were delicious way better than chipotle super rich and tasty. The sauces were good too. I like the red sauce. The green sauce wasn’t as good. My kid doesn’t like Mexican food and he ate two tacos. Ravenously ;) We came back two days later and tried three more tacos: chicken, flank steak, and best pork. Those were listed in order of which I liked the most. Surprisingly I liked the carnitas burrito more than any of the tacos. The combination of the rice, beans, salsa, and pork was much better.

Rebecca Mozdy

Google
By far the best burrito I’ve had in the twin cities!! 🌯 I ordered the Best Pork Burrito and it truly is the best, I’m totally serious. The meat was flavorful and rich and tender, the burrito itself had a nice balance of meat to other ingredients, and I was even more blown away when I added the sauce that came with it! Holy wow, from now on this is my go to spot for delicious feel-good meals. Nobody can compete. Also the owner was very nice and brought out some waters because of the 90+ degree weather. Totally going to come back again soon.

Ishmam Ahmed

Google
Bro…mi hombre…these are the most gorgeous tacos I’ve had in a long time. Do yourself a favor and check them out if you haven’t already. These flavorful tacos are filled to the brim and will not disappoint. Compliments to the chef. Service is very friendly and made my night. An unassuming little spot on Eat Street with quality food like this is definitely worth revisiting. I’ll be back.

Yelp
If you are looking for good food with generous portions, Yeah Yeah Taco is a must go to place. I walked in not really sure what to expect and I was blown away by the kindness and hospitality from the staff. Since I am not from the Minneapolis area, it was nice to talk and get an understanding of some of the history and culture while also having my fill of food. I would recommend for anyone craving a good taco, burrito, or quesadilla. And I know the outside seating is perfect for late spring to summer weather.

Yelp
Was on a Mexican food kick and decided to order delivery from this place along with many others that month. Located on a very popular strip of Nicollet Ave and the establishment having a small interior, takeout or delivery is the best route. We ordered the Salsa Macha Chicken Bowl, Best Pork Burrito, and Classic Carnitas Tacos. Our order arrived quickly even with it being delivered to north of the city. If you're hungry this place will fill you. The food is HEARTY. Everything was tasty, however, it all has a very similar smokey flavor. We got three dishes to try out, but with how alike they all were flavor-wise, and filling, best to stick with one entré. Street parking.

Yelp
The food is very mediocre, it has flavor yet tasteless. Sometimes keeping things simple is the way to go. I had the carne asada burrito and best pork burrito. The carne asada burrito was marinated in cilantro, and it's a not a very pleasant taste. The best pork burrito tastes like a want to be teriyaki pork burrito, very mid at best. The potential is there but there is a lot of work that needs to be done in the kitchen. The service is good. There is not much of an ambiance, but that's because it's a quick grab and go type of place. I feel bad for this but , I ended throwing most of the food away. The chips are good tho.

Yelp
This little hole in the wall is one you shouldn't skip out on. It's a little hard to find, there's little to no parking, no seating inside but service was nice and quick and not to mention, tasty. I got the rundown of the menu and really appreciated the recommendations as it was my first time. He clearly set expectations in terms of flavors and quantity of food. I'm not big on sweet and savory combos so I opted out of the big burrito (which is what they're known for I guess). I got 2 tacos 1 pork and 1 chicken. Both were LOADED with meat with simple and fresh toppings. It was more than enough! Will definitely consider coming back to try other tacos.
google avatar

Alex L.

Yelp
I tried it again, and it's actually a lot better than my first time. I told the owner about the oil-filled bowl of pork on rice that I got, and she admitted that there was a new employee that just started, and that he wasn't supposed to scoop all that oil into the bowl. She asked me to try it again, and this time I ordered one of each taco - the best pork, chicken, elote and sweet potato. These were actually quite tasty, especially with a squeeze of the generous serving of lime wedges that came with them. The elote was fresh and bright, but substantial too due to the sweet potatoes. My family liked the tacos, and I would definitely order again.

Yelp
Gave it another go. This time I tried the Salsa Macha Chicken Burrito with a side of mean green sauce. Flavor of the chicken gets overpowered in the burrito with all the rice, cheese and salsa. The taco was better. Yeah yeah is officially a nope for me. Too many much better options a few blocks south and east on Lake street.

Thuy N.

Yelp
Super friendly service and delicious, fresh food! We loved the quesadilla and elote! Would highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
Best burrito and taco ever! Elote is to die for. I highly recommend! I could eat this for days
google avatar

Yelp
Do your taste buds a favor and check out Yeah Yeah Taco this place is so delicious. Ordered the carnitas burrito and carnitas quesadilla. Let me tell you these options are Loaded with pork you will leave with leftovers unless your dying of starvation. Flavors were balanced perfectly and love how the cheese is cooked into the tortilla a nice touch. Their green paste/dip/sauce whatever it is Delicious just enough heat to not need hot sauce plus packed with flavor. Only thing I will say is avoid the salsa that comes with the chips/salsa menu option. I don't know what it's lacking but it's lacking something major. First time I haven't finished a bowl of salsa it was off but hopefully the recipe gets tweaked so I can dive back in! No alcohol but that shouldn't stop anyone from being a regular at this establishment it's that good!

Jenae C.

Yelp
Staff was super nice! The bacon pork was pretty sweet and made it unique. Not the most flavorful burrito/quesadilla but it's a fun place to try.

B H.

Yelp
MAJOR caveat: this is essentially take-out only with a small patio (so weather will eliminate), it wasn't clear on Yelp so I made the mistake of counting on sitting down. Friendly staff. You order in a business lobby (shared with accountants and the door to the old closed Evergreen Taiwanese restaurant) with a small kitchen attached--it's only a 2-person operation that appears aimed at delivery services, so ordering in person puts you at the back of whatever online queue they have. For a real sit-down Tex-Mex experience there's the Centro uptown location next door. The tacos are solid--absolutely loaded with meat. Chicken had a light spice, good. The carnitas stole the show, with a little bit of sweetness. The spiciest item was surprisingly the cheese quesadilla--the queso inside has heat. Overall worth trying as a takeout or deliver place.

Yelp
I would have to say...I agree with the review stating that they're shocked this place got so many good reviews. My boyfriend (who is Latino himself) and I feel the same. The rice and beans were super bland...and just awful. Why are you putting green onion on beans? How do you mess up red rice?! We literally threw it away after two bites. $7 gone to waste. We got the chicken burrito and no exaggeration, this was the worst chicken burrito we've had in the Twin Cities. The spicy sour cream was not that good - it was almost as if they used the same seasoning for the chicken in the sour cream. Not only that, but we had regular AND spicy sour cream in our burrito. Too much. Again, beans and rice in the burrito were bland as hell. The Mexican cokes were $6.50 for two. This place just fraudulent Two burritos and beans and rice were $35. Wish I could get my money back. Sad to say, but I regret spending my money here - now I know never to come back. There are plenty of great AUTHENTIC Latino restaurants in the area - PLEASE consider supporting those instead. .

Yelp
Yum yum yum! Yeah yeah! Haha the tacos were delicious and I love the fried cheese and the green sauce. My friend recommended this hidden gem to me and all I have to say is their business name is correctly named cause after eating their food you'll be saying, "Yeah Yeah!" . I got the chicken tacos, vegetarian tacos, and glazed carnitas tacos and the carnitas were my fav! I typically don't like carnitas tacos from other places as they are often dry and bland but these were super moist and flavorful.

P M.

Yelp
Tried this place for tacos- ordered 2 chicken and 2 veggie (sweet potato and corn) at the place to go. Overall pretty tasty. Unfortunately the veggie ones were 99% corn with a couple of pieces of sweet potato. Person taking the order was nice. Didn't have to wait too long for food.

Abby M.

Yelp
Consistently amazing, the 'best pork' burrito stands true to its name. Delicious. I love coming here
google avatar

Monique H.

Yelp
I was in the neighborhood for a meeting and decided to try out a new to me place - Yeah Yeah Taco. Oh yeah...this was good. I walked past their lovely little patio and scoped out the menu. I had a hankering for the pork and saw something called Best Pork. I mean if you're gonna get pork, why not get the best? The Best Pork is the classic carnitas tossed in shagbark bacon glaze giving it a hint of a sweet flavor. I settled on a Best Pork burrito (filled with cheese, seasoned rice, pinto beans, and spicy cream) and got it to go. It also came with a spicy green sauce which was indeed spicy and delicious. All of these flavors combined in a gigantic football sized burrito made for a great afternoon. Service was fast, staff was great, and if I had more time to spare I would've enjoyed the patio. Plenty of street parking available. I'm excited for another trip!

Danell G.

Yelp
I ordered delivery for the first time today and the Chicken Bowl is BRILLIANT! Fresh, perfectly seasoned and a portion that is a very good value for the price. The mean green jalepeno sauce suits me, but it's on the side if you're not into hot. I will absolutely order from them again and highly recommend. Plus the delivery guy was super friendly and excited to be delivering to a first time customer, and a smile and great attitude goes a long way! A+

Sophia K.

Yelp
Overall great food. Got a burrito and tacos. Super yummy, flavorful, and generous portions. They forgot to put my pickled jalepenos on my burrito last time which was so disappointing bc they are so good, but besides that love this place. A little pricey but it seems like everything is these days
google avatar

Yelp
First meal upon landing in Minneapolis! This was delicious and I would definitely come back. Looked like a ghost kitchen style, no formal seating area, just order pick up and go. The chicken tacos were perfectly smokey. Veggie tacos were bursting with flavor...that elote component was fireeeeee. As for the burrito, add elote and pickled jalapeños and you are sure to have a delicious delight. If you're feeling quesadilla, I don't think you can go wrong with any of the options. Ask for extra green sauce. Personally prefer if it were thinner, so it could be better incorporated into the taco/burrito/quesadilla. Pause your authentic taqueria tastebuds, expose all your creative and unique tastebuds. ENJOY!
google avatar

Michelle M.

Yelp
Been here many times for take out. My go to is the elote and sweet potato burrito. Definitely one of the best burritos in the city! The service is also fast and friendly.
google avatar

Kaci B.

Yelp
Anyone who doesn't like the best pork taco isn't eating it right, you NEED the green sauce! The spicy sweet combo is to die for. I can see how the sweet alone would be incomplete or off putting, but with the spicy green sauce that adds freshness and lightness to it, it's a game changer. Like, really the best taco I've ever had good. Always had great service there, too. Whether it's through a third party app like door dash or pick up, everything has always been accurate and everyone I've met there has been a delight to talk to.

Angela A.

Yelp
It should say HELL'S Yeah! Excellent burritos, quesadillas and their green sauce, spicy sour cream and they fresh salsas...5! This is the first time we've ordered here. We added Elote to all of our orders...perfect addition to give a savory-sweet to their menu items. 1/2 of us were vegetarians, the others meat eaters... we are full and happy
google avatar

Richard B.

Yelp
Customer services was the best, Bryan is very nice!! and gave us great recommendation, the pork burrito was excellent, came back the next days for more! Highly recommend!!

Eduard G.

Yelp
Great place to have some food. It's nothing like what I've had before, the carnita quesadilla I bought was the biggest thickest one over ever had. It was about an inch thick with mostly meat, exactly how it should be, I don't know what else the owner put in there but it was the best one I've ever had
google avatar

Halee P.

Yelp
YEAH YEAH TACO was bomb. We did a take out order on Cinco de Mayo, and even though we had to wait over an hour to get our food it was well worth it. The pork quesadilla was our favorite! It was packed with cheese, meat and all the ooey gooey goodness. The serving is huge, so prepare to have leftovers. The tacos were also very good! Make sure to get an extra side of their mean green hot sauce - it's so good! Def will be ordering take out from here again!
google avatar

Kabao Y.

Yelp
I did not end up eating here, but there were already awesome and positive reviews. I walked here from Minneapolis Institute of Art and came here with my partner. I was ordering the veggie bowl with no crema and cheese, and the man serving us gave us 5/5 service! As I was ordering, he told me that the elote without meat and cheese would just be corn, and he was so honest and respectful of my dietary restrictions (vegan). Great service and I'm sure the food is delicious, but unfortunately not vegan friendly. :)
google avatar

Anh P.

Yelp
I'll admit they seem to use quality ingredients, as everything smelled good, from the tacos to the burritos. But the flavor was way off!! They cook their pork meat so that it's moist and they put a lot of it in one single taco. However, what was really bothersome was a very sweet glaze all over the meat and tortilla. Coming from San Diego and having too many tacos to count, I have never had any pork or carnitas taco in which it tasted like candy. I took a bite and had to stop. Do not put sugar on a taco!! It ruins it!! I did like the elote taco though and the burrito with the same pork meat tasted better only because other ingredients masked the sweetness, but still, no meat should be tasting like candy!

Geoff S.

Yelp
Literally the best chicken burrito I've EVER had. The combo of that and the elote was a huge win! Actually ordering it again tonight. Fast delivery too!

Trth P.

Yelp
Ordered from Door Dash. A Chicken burrito for my husband and the c samebthing in bowl form for me. The food was really good , surprisingly flavorful and I don't particularly care for Mexican food in the Twin Cities because it is usually watered down to blahness. But not this. It was divine. Even my husband ,whose idea of culinary finery is Taco Bell, thought it was " really good" and " would eat at that Place again definitely". Anyone who makes food that can get him to say that deserves the highest of praise. Cudos! We'll be back.
google avatar

Anita T.

Yelp
Yeah Yeah is good. It's great. No actually, it's amazing! I found my all-time fav burrito place! It's dangerous for me to live so close and especially in walking distance from my house. Just beep boop, and I'm instantly transported there! I looooove Zetta's, so obviously I knew I was going to love YYT. They've got burritos! tacos! bowls! quesadillas! Maybe nachos? I didn't see it on the menu, but they do have chips and salsa, rice and beans, and elote! I ordered the carnitas burrito, and it's huge!! I was only able to eat one half of it, and saved the other half for the next day. That's 2 meals for the price of 1! The burritos come packed with oozing fried cheese, spicy crema, pinto beans, and seasoned rice. Spicy green sauce is included on the side, but I definitely recommend getting an extra side of it because it's soooo delicious! I don't eat a lot of pork due to the taste, but I thought the carnitas was super tasty and full of flavor! Every bite was jam packed with meat! cheese! rice! beans! My eyes are filled with happy tears and my belly is stuffed and satisfied. I'm itching for more! They also have a chicken and veggie option! The veggie one has elote and sweet potatoes in it which I've been wanting to try and will definitely get it next time I'm there!
google avatar

Manu P.

Yelp
whenever I am eating mexican food prepared elsewhere I think of yeah yeah taco, cant get it out of my head. the chicken is so so good

Shea I.

Yelp
Tried the best pork burrito and the elote. You better not skip out on the elote, if you like corn, or even if you don't. I dreamt about that stuff for a week after first trying it. The portion is large and just so flavorful! Will definitely try chicken instead of pork next time. While the pork was very flavorful, the burrito was just too small to be $14. I would have loved a better mix of rice and beans and cheese with the meat in the burrito too!
google avatar

Joseph M.

Yelp
Absolutely bomb. I have tried almost everything on the menu now and it is all delicious! My favorite is the chicken quesadilla but the burritos and tacos are fantastic too! Did I mention you get a little toy with each meal? Do not sleep on this place. (Their big sister concept Zetta's is also great)

Jim K.

Yelp
You cannot say your life is complete until you've eaten at Yeah Yeah Tacos. We just ordered lunch and I was blown away by Mexican food as it is cooked and known in various parts of Mexico. Home made tortillas, brown rice, beans and the finest spiced crema I've had outside of Mexico. it was all wonderful. However you better hurry because as this word spreads, the line will stretch all the way to Guadalahara.

Sarah S.

Yelp
This restaurant is the definition of customer services. I came to Minneapolis for a work offsite meeting and we have a thing where we like to have tacos from a local restaurant as one of the meals. I was lucky enough to find Yeah Yeah Tacos online via google search. We ordered the carnitas, chicken and elote! I wish I had a photo but I barely got the order uncovered and it was gone! The tacos are amazing but even better is the customer service from Paige and her team. From first contact to delivery from Brian, nothing but amazing. I would recommend Yeah Yeah Tacos to anyone! I just wish they had a restaurant in my home town in California! Thank you!!
google avatar

Jennifer K.

Yelp
I found out about yeah yeah when I called and found out my covid results from a test, The receptionist was eating and told me what an amazing meal she was eating, and that I was negative so I felt like I had a huge win all around for a day. The husband and I went out there a couple days later to grab an order to go, I had the veggie nachos and they were fantastic. it was a great portion size, and had this wonderful sweeter sour cream on it. we'll definitely be heading back soon
google avatar

Julie K.

Yelp
Chicken quesadilla and best pork bowl were both delicious. Chicken had slight kick to it (too spicy for our child) but adults loved it. Highly recommend!

Nora S.

Yelp
I never leave Yelp reviews, but I have to for yeah yeah! I live pretty near and had been driving by and decided to walk over to pick up a quesadilla for lunch today and am so impressed. The portions are large and fairly priced, and the chicken quesadilla is delicious! The pickup was easy and contactless, I walked but noted parking in the rear, and there was a space outside I could've stood and eaten if I had chosen to. Will definitely be frequenting this place going forward! Oh, also, they gave me a little dinosaur which I love.
google avatar

Donna T.

Yelp
Have ordered delivery from here a couple times now. Food tasty, the meat especially well seasoned but not overly spicy hot. Larger portions than I care for but a plus for my husband. Rice & beans so yummy could be eaten & enjoyed as entree.

Jordan R.

Yelp
Really tasty food, and great folks working there. Came in to pick up an order, and found that a DoorDasher took my order by mistake before I arrived. YYT recognized what happened and remade my order FAST. Super kind people and really delicious food. Please give them a try!
google avatar

Ryan C.

Yelp
We ordered the burritos! The best and the classic. They were delicious. So happy with these burritos. I will definitely be back. So yum.
google avatar

Rebecca E.

Yelp
I tried the veggie burrito and now I have to give up on saving for a house because all my money is going to this place.
google avatar

Lisa W.

Yelp
My young son bit into the Best Pork Burrito and exclaimed, "This is GREAT! We definitely made the right choice!' I completely agree! Will be back when in the area.

Greg B.

Yelp
Wow, just wow! Tried Yeah Yeah Taco for the first time tonight and wasn't disappointed. One of the best burritos I have ever had. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

Spike S.

Yelp
So I've been an irregular customer since opening. The food is super. To an item. Each one I've tried is a real joy to eat, and often unexpectedly yummy. Challenging me to think differently about tacos. Or a bowl. My husband is a fussy eater. But he loves their #7 from Zetta's next door. That's his ask when I am not making our meals. This place is worth it every time. And the people are SO NICE!

Kirbi K.

Yelp
Whoever the white male host or front face of the establishment is he was rude and insensitive as he thought he was being friendly. He joked & became patronizing about food orders being behind saying I should get too excited as the food he had wasn't mine and that I'd still be waiting. Extremely rude and bad humor when he could have been inviting while sitting in that small space! Will not visit or eat there again. Horrible service that clearly does not care about ppl.

October M.

Yelp
Visited from out of town and this is just a short walk from MIA. Best customer service and one of the best tacos I've had in a looonngg time. I had the sweet pork which was balanced perfectly by the onions. Delicious!

Britta C.

Yelp
I love this place! Our favorite tacos and burritos in Minneapolis. I love the best pork burrito but everything here is SO GOOD. The staff are also super friendly. Feels like stopping in to get amazing food from friends.
google avatar

Hima M.

Yelp
Delicious tacos and nachos! Who would have thought of fried cheese in tacos?! And the taco didn't even feel oily. I had the sweet potato taco and it may become a weekly go to. The vegetarian nachos were also delicious- the spicy sour cream was a great addition. Definitely will be back!
google avatar

Sarah W.

Yelp
Amazing! Working my way through the menu. Had the best pork burrito and it is truly... the best. Tacos are great too, but the burritos are where it's at!
