So they tried, but the meal was cold we were served at lunch. Chicken was dry in both dishes. They did accommodate my request for a meal. But it was cold and dry, it day under a great lamp too long. Nice ambiance indoors and a great out door area. Service was good. Failed on our lunch Bathroom could use a good cleaning...

Google
Great food. Great staff. Small menu but what I got exceeded my expectations. I forgot the correct name but the lamb with the homemade pasta was super good , I brought home leftovers and the pasta held the gravy like juice in so it even tasted better the next day. We had a waiter and waitress looking after us. Both very helpful and pleasant to talk to.

I have been here a few times and always enjoy the experience. The location is nice, drinks are good and food is delicious! The lamb chops are always phenomenal!

Google
Food was good and the staff were sweet and helpful ( Alex helped us during our visit and he was so knowledgeable about the food and provided us with good suggestions. Given the pandemic, tables are in open space and staff wear masks at all the time. You can view the menu using a QR code to minimize the contact.

Nice spot for lunch. Food was good and a nice selection of wines by glass and bottle.

Google
WOW!!! What a find. Just stumbled upon Yella, Mediterranean Restaurant and am so impressed!! Was headling to The Oyster House, but they were closed because of an infrastructure issue, so went looking. Yella is just down the alley. ( not obvious - walk a couple of more steps - you will find it - you will not be disappointed - guaranteed!!) I had the Short ribs with grilled asparagus and mushroom risotto. FANTASTIC!!

Google
Overall was a decent meal. Good service and cute location but nothing overly impressive or exciting.

Google
My husband and I came here on a date night and we loved it! The ambiance is cozy and the waitress we had was very polite and accommodating, even though we came on a night with bad weather. I got the queen of hearts cocktail which was quite good. We also got the hummus as an appetizer which was super tasty. For mains, we got the chicken kabob plate and Atlantic grilled salmon. They were both great, but the salmon was amazing! For dessert we had the baklava and we both thought it was the best baklava we’ve ever had. We will definitely be back and recommend to others!

Yelp
It was ok... food lacked flavor... ambiance is nice.. very small place but quant. The falafel is good. The fresh hummus was bland, I expected more flavor since it's homemade!

Yelp
Looking forward to getting back here as we went years ago and it was a beautiful delicious meal and even better sangria.

Yelp
Haven't been in a while but it's still fantastic. Tasty, creative food and attentive, friendly service. We are big fans of Yella.

Yelp
Amazing food but super expensive. Waiter was very helpful and on time. Good drinks too.

Yelp
The most fresh Mediterranean food you will find in New England! Elegantly prepared and everything cooked perfectly. The focaccia with prosciutto and arugula is off the charts phenomenal. The lamb meatball falafel grape leaves appetizer as tasty as it gets. Hummus fresh and delicious.

Yelp
Amazing Mediterranean restaurant in Andover. My visit was on a Tuesday and so to stay on brand - as everyone should on Tuesdays- I had tacos!! Now you may cringe and wonder why on earth I'd pick this place for tacos..well their tacos have a Mediterranean side and boy did I make the right choice! My rec: taco sampler with two lamb tacos and a fish taco..thank me later!

Yelp
This place is actually a pretty good little restaurant located right in the heart of Andover's charming little downtown. This place is pretty small with a limited amount of seats but absolutely has quite a bit of a homely feel to it, which is nice. The menu varies but the food is pretty good. Ordered a bunch of appetizers, all of which were delicious, ordered the cod as a main dish which was a tad salty but good and washed it down with a ton of wine. The service was absolutely outstanding throughout the night and they really ensured glasses were full and patrons were satisfied. Pros- Great service Charming atmosphere Large portions Nice ambiance Functional seating layout Great food Cons- Very limited parking Cod was a bit salty

Yelp
Great food, waitress and atmosphere. The grape leaves are the best I have ever had and I loved the wild mushroom cavatelli, Next time I want to try the falafel taco! I will be back for sure!

Yelp
We went because my husband was raised on Lebanese food, and we thought some of his favorite dishes would be available. A few were and most were not. But we had a great meal. I thought the grape leaves were the best I'd ever had. My Acorn Squash Bolognese was excellent and plentiful. I shared with my husband and still had some to take home. My husband thought his Sea Scallops were delicious, but his portion was pretty small. We ordered the chocolate mousse dessert to share, but were brought the Panna Cotta. It confused me, but we thought we would just see what it was like. It was wonderful. Another very small portion, but I was pretty full at that time. I didn't mind the small size, but would have preferred a smaller dessert price. Service was quick, but a little awkward. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the dessert price and mix up. And because the tables are pretty close together, so it's hard for us and the wait staff to get around.

Yelp
Hmmm..... Nope. Good, but not 'that' good. Lunch menu is on the expensive side. $15-$17 and up. I had the combo platter (beef and chicken skewers, fries). It was 'good'. Friend has a quinoa salad. Not much quinoa, but found a piece of metal in the salad... Bleh.... Called up the waiter: He replaced the salad, but the least he should have done is take it off from the bill, and maybe even throw some dessert on the house, but no. Sure enough, the $14.50 salad was still there on the bill. Maybe the 2nd one he brought had some of the kitchen crew's 'special' vinaigrette, who knows, I wouldn't have touched it. Golden rule: Never send anything back to the kitchen. Parking is a pain there too... No, no, NO! Will I go back? Definitely not.

C M.

Yelp
The pros: the food was flavorful and the young server was friendly and efficient. The cons: the acoustics weren't good in the small restaurant and I could barely hear my companion over the din. Also on a busy Friday lunch, the young server was the only waitstaff (except for a hostess who only handed out menus and water) ; consequently, it was a lengthy wait for food. Parking was difficult in the downtown area near the restaurant. So, research this before you go.

Yelp
This review is mainly only based on the food. Obviously I read the other yelper review and went in I called and said if they had room for 3 in 15 minutes, they sat us right away at 8:40ish The iced tea was probably the best thing I had there which is not a good thing for the rest of the menu. I got a platter for appetizer and everything on it was just okay, just okay. Nothing was like omg knock my socks off! That came out in like 15-20mins? We ordered the assiette, and lamb papparelle. The pork was so dry so dry. When I cut into it, I was literally confused by what meat it was! The pulled bbq smelled a little bad? And old? And the lamb was probably cooked the best out of the three but had no seasoning The overall dish was really salty??? Okay I had to wait 1 hour for this meal which was super disappointing because I was trying to reinsure my friends that the food might be worth it. (Just to add... I asked if the assiette could be spit up on to two plates because we were sharing and she went to ask the cook, yeah no they was not going to do that) I feel like maybe the cook got fired on Saturday night and they had some new guy in there taking forever burning my food lol just seem really off from all the other reviews I've seen We ended up being the only table there. The waitress seemed like she was unaware that we were waiting that long? And was very apologetic. She was very accommodating. Why there is a 2 star and not 1 star

Yelp
Went yesterday for an early dinner , it completely exceeded my expectations, we ordered multiple apps and everything was enjoyable , I'm already thinking about going again next month.

Yelp
I loooove Yella it's seriously the best Greek food around. I'll definitely be back soon!

Great food, staff and atmosphere! You will never be disappointed! The food is always so fresh, interesting, creative and most importantly...delicious!

Yelp
Yella Grille is one of the reasons I eventually got an ID on Yelp to write reviews. I had found it on a search about 4 months before actually getting an ID, so it was one of those "I need to pay it forward" businesses. I was pleased to have a chance to return, and this visit was even better! The wine list may be a challenge, because it features quite a few with which you may be unfamiliar, and the prices are above average. We were going to go with the Lebanese red until our waitress informed us they had sangria this evening, which we all ordered (by the glass only, $9). It was amazing both in the portion and the beverage. It was closer to a cold, mulled, sangria, complete with a cinnamon stick and a cinnamon infusion. I've never had a sangria like it, and I'd love to try to make something similar on my own. For appetizers, the Mediterranean Mezza Plaza (for 4, $25) lets you sample a lot. Their babaganouj has a very smoky taste, and the grape leaves are served warm, but the minted lamb meatballs are the best! Everything - appetizers and entrees - are well seasoned, and the portions are to the point of filling you up. My lamb pappardelle ($26) was full of fresh pasta but also full of chunks of lamb as well as the spinach and mushrooms and garnished with fresh basil (a little of which enhanced the meal even more). Dessert is a short list of about a half-dozen decadent specialties and some digestif/dessert wine offerings. I only wish I had had room, because you can also get your second dessert at half-price with your Yelp check-in (assuming someone ELSE would pay the full price of their dessert, so I could benefit, of course). Yella Grille is busy (and a bit loud) on a Saturday night, so a reservation on a busy night is a must.

Yelp
Enjoyed dinner with a large group in October. Service was great and food very good. I'm pretty sure we ordered everything on the menu. The appetizers were great, especially the chicken wings and hummus. I'll definitely go back! The dining room is small, so I highly recommend a reservation.
google avatar

Sravani D.

Yelp
A good middle eastern place definitely on the pricey side. The chicken wings are definitely worth trying. The food portion size for dinner is really small.
google avatar

Kirk T.

Yelp
Service was prompt, the food was delicious, and the drinks were artfully made. The risotto was nice and creamy.

Yelp
Some of the best food I have had recently. Loved the eggplant dish! Small and cozy but worth the wait.

Yelp
If you are looking for true Mediterranean fare this isn't it. This is more Mediterranean fusion which was still very good. I still appreciated the style and presentation. We started out with the mezA appetizer which was very good. The sauces or dips were very good and the egg plant was amazing as were the grape leaves. I ate with an Indian colleague and he agreed it was part authentic but fusion. then I had the Assietti with lamb, pork tenderloin and short rib. Not bursting with huge favors but that is Mediterranean. Well worth it still even for $28. Great location and we sat outside. Atmosphere was upscale and the area was great for people watching. The service was average. Not attentive enough for the overall pricing. Also, I have a problem with my entree being delivered before our appetizer is eaten. I want to enjoy the appetizer and not feel my $28 entree is getting cold. We also had a question what in the meza was vegetarian and the server didn't know. Again, I don't mind paying for quality but the service did not add to the overall value quotient. We didn't have dessert but wanted expresso which they didn't have. It seems odd for an upscale restaurant not to have. Would I come back. Most likely because the food was very good and the atmosphere was wonderful. I'd still recommend it.

Yelp
I've been a couple times; it's a good choice for dinner in downtown Andover with appetizing seafood. I really enjoyed the mussels and lamb chops. The cod was surprisingly subpar and I did not like how bland and subtly watery it was. However, the service is one of the best in Andover. The indoor seating has a great, dark ambience and the outside seating is amazing because I believe they had it before the pandemic, as well, so well-prepared. I'd highly recommend when you want a break from the Italian and American-heavy flavor in Andover restaurants.

Yelp
On a beautiful summer Saturday night, we decided to walk into Yella Grille in Andover for dinner. The host greeted us and offered both outside or indoor seating. Despite it being the first good Saturday night of the summer, we opted for indoors and we given a nice table for two by the window; like the best of both worlds. The interior was small, quaint, clean with ample lighting. For starters, we tried the vegetarian grape leaves. Served warm the blend of rice, tomato, and herbs inside the soft, yet sturdy grape leaf were very good. A cucumber yogurt dressing was served on the side, but not even needed. The Fattouch salad of mixed greens including romaine, kale, parsley, mint, peppers, radish, cucumbers, tomatoes, and onions was ordered with additional salmon as protein. The salad was mixed with a house vinaigrette that wasn't too overpowering or abundant. The crispy pita bread wedges as croutons were a savory treat that added a nice crunch to the healthy plate. The seared Atlantic Salmon was our other entree and it didn't disappoint. A large piece of salmon was cooked to a perfect, flaky consistency and served with a bed of beat with fennel quinoa over a drizzle of beet-tahini coulis. Of particular note was the iced tea. Delicious! Cold served with lemon, fresh mint and a cinnamon stick it just tastes like summer. Try one...or two! We didn't save room for dessert, but the menu looked very good as well. I highly recommend Yella Grill if you find your way to Andover.

Yelp
Fantastic food and fantastic service! Yella can always be counted on for wonderful a food experience! Thank you!

Yelp
Setting/location = cozy Service = great Food presentation = awesome Taste = would return for more

Yelp
Popped in for dinner outside. The outdoor seating is nice and the service was good. We got the cavatelli mushroom pasta with shrimp, hummus, and lamb chops. The hummus was great, nice and fresh. The pasta was full of flavor but oily. Not much shrimp came with the pasta either, a little sad. The lamb was unfortunately dry and risotto did not have the right consistency. The sauce on the lamb was the best part of the dish.

Yelp
I called for take out and got the Greek salad with chicken. They wrapped the chicken separately as not to wilt the salad. Thank you kind staff!! The creamy Greek salad dressing was amazing. I loved this salad and want to return when I can. The restaurant is small and I assume if can get busy but i don't often save want to save left over salad dressing but this dressing made me want to get another salad. It was good. Thank you Yelp!!! Nice find in between appoints in the community.

Yelp
Far and away the best dining destination in the Merrimack Valley. Every entree and app we've had here over multiple visits is exquisitely prepared and presented. Small but solid wine list, great vegetarian options and the service is spot on. Small room can be a bit loud and avoid the table right by the door. Bring a date who cares about food and you can't go wrong.

Yelp
Yella is 'alley' reversed, and this place is indeed tucked away next to an alley. I liked this meal, and there were lots of little nice touches that I appreciated. The mint garnishes on many of the dishes, the grey/violet color scheme of the decor, the noise-reducing panels on the walls and ceiling: all very thoughtful. Service is fast, friendly, and attentive. I was seated promptly and all my food came out very quickly on a Thursday at dinner time. The food is a solid interpretation of Mediterranean -- lots of herby, bright, savory flavors. They make pretty good hummus, and I'm pretty picky about hummus. It's very light and fluffy, and while I thought it could have used a little more acid, the consistency and texture were perfect. Their pitas are similarly airy and light, and taste super fresh. I had a glass of Pinot Grigio, the hummus awarma, and the fattoush salad. They also brought a small app plate of hummus and pita chips. The hummus awarma is terrific: a generous portion of hummus topped with a ground beef/onion/pine nut mixture, and plenty of fruity olive oil, served alongside a tall stack of hummus. I really loved this. The fattoush was pretty good, though the vinaigrette was extremely vinegar-forward. Also, I expected more of a traditional fattoush with soaked pita, but the pita chips here served more as croutons. Nevertheless, I really liked the sumac and herbs in this. This is a great spot on Andover, and don't forget to redeem the yelp check in offer if you come!

Jane G.

Yelp
I love the updated decor, with the same friendly upbeat waitstaff. Great new art work As well. They have added yet another "my favorite" to the menu. I would called it Shrimp scampi PLUS . The melding of the artichokes with the more traditionally ingredients was a stroke of Carlos genius. I could eat there multiple times per week and never get board. make sure you leave room for the chocolate mousse. we are looking forward to the next night I can't decide what to make for dinner. Thank you to the team for always making even take out, a special.
google avatar

Lisa S.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I were looking for a new place to have dinner last night and we came across Yella . Hands down the best warm hummus we have ever had . The lamb shank and the flatbread pizza with the fig glaze were out of this world everything we Ordered was packed with flavor! Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Yella Grille is one of those rare finds great food, great service and a great environment. During our visit the customers and staff were pleasantly enjoying each other's company while being surrounded by world class food. We're on our way to Ontario and found this place on Yelp, so five stars to Yelp also.
google avatar

Yelp
This is probably my 5th time to Yella, each time a wonderful experience. Wine selection was great, although I miss the Lebanese beer they used to carry. Appetizer plate was great with a combination of babganoush, hummus, feta spring rolls, and lamb meatballs. The fish of the day, Haddock, was seasoned well with Za'atar rub but was over cooked and tough. My wife ordered the scallops, which were small and also overcooked, making them tough and chewy. Not sure the chef was having a good day with the seafood. Our waiter was extremely nice and chatted with us and shared some stories. The restaurant gave us a dessert to celebrate our anniversary, which was a very nice touch.

Yelp
Delicious food and fabulous cocktails. Cozy, sweet atmosphere and lovely service. Will absolutely be coming back!
google avatar

Yelp
I had a salad & a beer for lunch. They were good. Menu says "grilled shrimp"; they were fried. Oh, well.
google avatar

Samantha H.

Yelp
Food is excellent. Probably best quality food in Andover. Last night our service was a little lacking- server didn't greet our table until we had been seated at least 20 min. Beyond that everything was wonderful and we will be back. Wings and mussel appetizers great.
google avatar

David H.

Yelp
Get the Yella Let's Mezza and the Yella Grille and the family (4-6) will be rubbing their stomachs in glee! Fatuous salad is deliciously lemony but ask for extra feta!
google avatar

MB S.

Yelp
We were so disappointed. We had to flag down our server to order drinks...then decided that we'd better order...since the server would disappear. My friend's pappardelle was actually swimming in...sauce/liquid. The fish tacos were mediocre, at best. Quantity and quality. My falafel salad was....OK. It was rather chilly, but management did not deem it necessary to turn on heaters. All in all, don't plan on returning!

Pamela R.

Yelp
Seriously divine. Delicious, authentic mezza platter. Shared Moroccan Shashouka and lamb assiette. Service via Karen was prompt and very friendly. Wine selection well curated. Really nice ambiance, dim lights and music: Socially distanced inside dining but with a great view of the street and Andover center. This is a hidden gem, if you're sick or ho hum food this will awaken your palette with complex spices and flavor profiles.

Yelp
We called before coming to see if they had a wait and they mentioned 30 minutes which we were willing to wait for. We arrived and there were several open tables, some that just hadn't been cleaned off yet. The hostess was on the phone and then sat a prior reservation and then meandered around the restaurant for 10 minutes looking at her iPad and seemingly checking reservations (which should take 2 max). Several tables still needing to be cleaned she said she could sit us immediately. At this point we've waited 20 minutes to just be seated at one of the empty tables. We're waiting for the tables to be cleaned and the hostess is walking around the restaurant at snails pace, no waiter is assisting. We ended up walking out. The only reason there was a 30 minute wait is because they're so unbelievably slow. I'm not sure how they're still in business as the turn over is horrible.

Joe N.

Yelp
We love Yella. The food is always excellent and service is friendly and prompt. I wish they were open for lunch as well.

Yelp
All I can say is...WOW. We ate here last week and since then I have told many people that this dinner was one of the best I've ever had (top 5 at very least). The location and atmosphere are idyllic. This restaurant is on a small alleyway in beautiful Andover center. The inside is casually refined, with white tablecloths, candles on the tables, and a small wine bar. We started with the Mediterranean Mezza Platter appetizer. It was such a good looking plate that I Instagrammed it. It tasted even better than it looked! The falafel, lamb meatballs, and potato cakes were incredible, but the highlight was the feta spring rolls. That's right...FETA SPRING ROLLS. For my meal I got the assiette of meat. Like I said above, this was one of the best things I've ever eaten. The lamb was served over risotto, the short rib was served over babaganouj, and the pork was served over a polenta cakes. The flavor was rich and smoky. I literally interrupted our conversation to proclaim how much I loved this dish. My partner got the steak and was a huge fan as well. For dessert I got the pot de creme and my partner got the baklava. Both were fantastic. The last thing I'll mention is the service. Our server was warm, attentive, and made great recommendations. We were greeted with a warm hello by the hostess and left with a warm goodbye. There was not one thing I'd change about this place. Overall, this experience was top notch and I cannot wait to go back!

Yelp
The food is incredible! My favorite Mediterranean food in the Merrimack valley- hands down. The people who work there are always very friendly.

Yelp
Went to Yella for the first time this week. Cute like place in downtown Andover. Finding parking is a challenge in this area for certain. I had the steak with truffle fries. The truffle fries were very good. The steak, while flavorful, was sadly over cooked. I had ordered medium and it came out a little past well done. It, unfortunately, made the steak very tough and chewy. The service was very good and attentive and the menu looks to have a nice variety of choices. I would go back, but definitely would not order the steak again.

Yelp
The first time I tried Yella, it was very disappointed, I gave it 2 stars at most. I was around the area and I gave it a second chance based on a lot of good reviews. I was glad I did. We ordered crispy Melanzane Napolean, Hummus, crab cake, Seared Salmon Fattoush salad, Combination platter and Moroccan spiced pots de creme. The Melanzane Napolean was excellent, the eggplant was very crispy. I would come back just for this dish alone. Crab cake was good but I had better in other restaurants. Salmon was crispy. The lamb, sirloin, and chicken were tender and moist. We had Moroccan Spiced Pots de creme for dessert. We had it the first time, it was horrible, the dessert was very salty. I felt like the chef was mistakenly putting salt instead of sugar in it. That proved me right. The Moroccan Spiced Pots de creme was not salty at all this time. The dark chocolate was creamy and smooth.

Yelp
Solid food and nice service. I really like how they write information next to each item to tell you if it has dairy, is vegetarian, etc. Falafel wrap was very good. Not the best ever, but certainly the best I have had North of Cambridge. Grape leaves were about the same. They threw in some pita chips which were also good. I took off one point for the price. While the food was an A and maybe A+ for Andover, the cost was around a C. Perhaps stuff is just really expensive in Andover, but my sandwich was almost 100% more expensive than the same thing in Cambridge for comparison. With all that said, food was of high quality and tasty and I imagine it is probably one of the best restaurants in Andover in spite of being very expensive.
google avatar

Grace M.

Yelp
Andover has always been lacking in the restaurant department, so I'm glad to see Yella doing well here! I recently made my first visit and had a nice experience overall. We had reservations for a group of 6 and it was pretty tight in the restaurant, being seated in the middle. Service was pretty slow as well, so those were 2 disappointing factors to start. On the food, I am at a toss-up. We had the Mediterranean Mezza Platter which includes Meat Pies, Grape Leaves, Spring Rolls, Spinach Pies, Falafel, Babaganouj & Pita Chips. Most of these items were just okay, but quite disappointingly, their falafel weren't good- they were too fried and had a nearly burnt taste going on. Also notable was that the spinach pies were extremely undercooked with a raw, doughy interior. For my meal, I got the Tuscan salad w/ pan-seared salmon and it was SO GOOD (this really made up for all the other misses and I would easily return just to have it again!). I also tasted the salmon entree which came with a Golden Raisin and Cumin Spiced Barley (also available as a side), and the barley & sauce were STELLAR. I can definitely see why others have given this place 4 and 5 stars, but I think I was mostly turned off by the mezza platter. Still, I'd go back and I definitely do recommend this place!

Brenda S.

Yelp
Are used to love it here at the food was great at one time but the service is lousy the waitresses have no personality whatsoever that's why I haven't been neck I rather go to the new restaurant on Main Street LaFina's for the service is spectacular!

Yelp
Great service! Our waiter was very pleasant and knowledgeable about both the menu and beer selection. The food was fresh and delicious!
