Yellow door south end has some of the best service I’ve ever had in Boston. As someone with gluten allergy the staff was well informed and offered me many modifications to food that did have gluten. Additionally they ensured the kitchen staff was aware and they informed me that they have a dedicated fryer for allergies. Our servers were so kind and accommodating. We sat outside and it got a little chilly and they kindly offered several times to move us to the side patio where there are heaters. The food is also great we went for apps and drinks. The margs are in my opinion one of the best in Boston. I will definitely be back

I’ve heard so many good things through friends about yellow door Taqueria and it’s definitely worth it! The ambience is cute, has dim, lighting, and cozy. Definitely recommend making reservation or trying your luck at the bar. overall will be coming back love that the tacos were shareable and the spicy mar fabulous! They put effort in the plating and in the aesthetic of the drinks.

Google
Go-to place on a night out or with guests. Staff is beyond hospitable and kind. Brings the old school corner bar vibes but with current drinks and food. Found this place after looking for tacos post living in TX and now it’s our favorite place to spend the night (or a boozy brunch). Start off with a classic marg and chips, then cruise through the bubbly mixed drinks. A Waking Up in Tijuana and churros cap off the night perfectly. Can’t say enough good things about this place and team.

Google
Every time we come here it is always excellent food, drinks, and service. We were there tonight for Taco Tuesday and had awesome bartenders. The guy serving us at the bar was phenomenal. Never seen a bartender make drinks that quick and delicious! Highly recommend a spicy coconut margarita. Or any marg made spicy. The girl on the bar was super sweet and funny!! Such good service overall. Give these peeps a raise!

Love the nachos - should definitely try Recommend the birria tacos and the pork belly tacos Staff is friendly. It can be a bit dark inside.

I went Friday afternoon after work and it was already busy. Cute little place, food was very good and waitress hurry you up, other than that… was great!

Google
Super nice place. The menu was very interesting and I had a tough time deciding what I wanted but ultimately landed on a brunch item. The staff were super nice, including my waiter. Would definitely like to return.

Yelp
Went to Yellowdoor on Friday and the food and service was amazing! While we waited for a table we got a drink from Sophia at the bar. Drink were amazing and we shortly sat at our table and had an incredible server. The hostess was also very attentive. Great experience!

Yelp
This place had such a cool vibe and excellent food and drinks! It's a small restaurant so I think reservations are definitely needed especially on the weekends. They also have a wait list online that you can use, which is what we did, and it was super convenient so we could put our name down ahead of time and not have to wait as long. Parking was a little difficult but once we found a spot, we checked in and were able to be seated right away. We ended up ordering a lot of food because we didn't realize the portion sizes! For "small" plates we got patatas bravas, street corn nachos, and flautas. The nachos were huge! We would've been good with just that! So cheesy and delicious. The chips were nice and crispy and had a great crunch to them. The flautas were my next favorite. There were 3 of them included and the meat inside was so flavorful! Patatas bravas were good but probably my least favorite. We definitely could've done without them. On top of all this we also ordered 2 tacos each! Needless to say, we definitely had leftovers that we took home!! I got a birria and carniatas, and between them my favorite was the birria!! This was absolutely delicious~ highly recommend! My fiancé got the crispy pork belly and queso carne and between those two we both loved the queso carne. That steak was so flavorful! Overall, an awesome spot for date night. From the atmosphere to the food and drinks to the friendly service, I would definitely recommend and come back here.

Yelp
Stopped in here a few times by now, it's a smaller joint so be patient things can be a bit turtle. Staff is usually always nice, drinks are pretty good. The food was hit or miss depending on the night. We usually get a spread of tacos and drinks. The barria i thought was lacking flavor so I'd probably pass on that. The carnitas, fish and mango bbq ones were pretty good. The street corn nachos were good to share as an appetizer but our chicken wings were a bit extra charred (some may like that) Ambiance is great for a corner spot, but it is limited in space! Closes later than most spots in the area midnight on weekends. Parking in street parking anywhere you can find it.

Lizzie Y.

Yelp
I tried to like Yellow Door Taqueria in Lower Mills but I just did not have a great experience. The birria tacos are a complete miss... please do not order it if you come here. Our server took forever to bring our food out and it really felt miserable, especially when the food did not taste great. I have not tried their drinks yet but I have been told their drinks are good so maybe I will come back once more to try.

Brandon B.

Yelp
Super nice place. The menu was very interesting and I had a tough time deciding what I wanted but ultimately landed on a brunch item. The staff were super nice, including my waiter. Would definitely like to return.

Yelp
I've ordered food twice from Yellow Door Taqueria. Once I picked up my food, the place is on a corner... kind of found it hard to find parking (but I was also in a rush, maybe they have their own parking?) but it's a cute little spot with a bar! Looks nice for a night out with the girls or friends. I haven't had their drinks but the tacos, nachos and churros were good die for! I enjoyed every bite! The staff were also super nice. My second time ordering, I had them delivered. My good arrived well packaged and nicely secured (with staples) in the bag. I really appreciate that because sometimes you never know if you can trust these delivery services.

Yelp
Great tacos and drinks favorite bar in the neighborhood . Great service recommend reserving a table usually pretty busy especially on the weekends they also have a great brunch

Alee L.

Yelp
A friend and I wanted to catch up so I suggested coming to YDT. We came for lunch and it was just us at first but then it started to fill up. Started with drinks and my friend got the resting peach face, and I got a mocktail spiced guava. I tried my friend's drink, but it was too much for me, I'm not a drinker, hence why I got a mocktail, and my drink tasted like fall. We order food and started with the street corn nachos which were amazing! You can nosh on a tray of these all day long. I preferred there was more corn and avocado but still it was delicious. Also, for the tacos, we got crispy pork, fish, and coconut shrimp. All were very yummy! I can't wait to try the other tacos when I go back. YDT is a great place to hang out and grab some drinks and nachos and tacos. The atmosphere is chill the staff is great.

Tiffani J.

Yelp
I went back to see if my last experience was just a one off. I did not enjoy my food but the service was slightly better. They haven't figured out how to transfer tables mid shift. We sat and waited and waited. When we finally got our food, the tacos were cold. The steak was pretty rare. The restaurant wasn't even that full when we placed our order. There were several to go orders filled so maybe that's what happened . They did check on us after we complained to someone and gave us free wings. They took the cold tacos off. I had shrimp tostadas. Awful. Awful. It wasn't a typo. They were bland. The pico on the tostadas was mostly onion. It needed lime and salt but the service was so slow, I just ended up sending them back and getting two yummy scallop tacos. Bailey was good when she took over.

Yelp
Street corn nachos, and the churros are amazing ........... ........ ........ ........ ........... ........ ........ ........

Janick B.

Yelp
I would recommend this place just for the drinks and the street corn nachos. The other dishes are okay. They are not the most authentic tasting and are not rich in flavor. I have returned here multiple times JUST for the nachos. The decor is aesthetically pleasing and the service is standard.

Brienne T.

Yelp
I had a great first experience here the second one not so much. Food was alright but making a reservation even well in advance doesn't guarantee you a seat. I waited past my reservation time only to be told they had no seats available. When I inquired about the empty seats there they told me those were for a party coming in who had a reservation which really rubbed me the wrong the way. We decided to sit at the bar because we'd already been waiting but the bar staff was palpably stressed out so it made it difficult to enjoy our time there. Except for the last ten minutes after they had refused to seat us at a table, been rude to us at the bar and messed up our orders twice THEN they were a bit more pleasant.

Nick M.

Yelp
If you are looking for a good place in Lower Mills that serves great drinks and food, this is worth a visit. The cocktails and beer selection are great, as are the tacos and other food options. The bar and dining room are small, but cozy. Definitely a good date night spot.

Jess H.

Yelp
We got the street corn tacos which were good, but we did wish they used real shredded cheese instead of queso. The cranberry + hibiscus and blueberry + maple margaritas and tacos were super tasty. I was mostly impressed with the service! Our server was very attentive and genuine.

Angela P.

Yelp
I finally got to visit this spot after driving by many times, and it didn't disappoint! I loved the vibes/ambiance, it was surprisingly cozy but the vibrant colors and decoration was fun. Our waitress was super attentive and friendly. The coffee coquito was probably one of the best coffee based cocktails I've ever had. I got the birria eggs Benedict which was flavorful, juicy and I loved the grittiness the corn muffins brought to the plate. It was super easy to make a reservation online as well. Can't wait to come back for dinner one of these days!

Mike F.

Yelp
Ordered delivery. Everything was cold. Food tasted old, like it's been sitting out for a long time. Idc how much celery garnish or splash of paprika they sprinkle. That presentation don't cover up them flavors. Hope this isn't a consistent thing. YDT is usually good. Pricey at that! $40 for cold corn and a few pieces of chicken. Gotta do better

Ali K.

Yelp
I stopped in to grab to go food at noon on a Sunday. It wasn't too busy. The staff was super friendly. I was in and out in under 10min. I ordered a drink at the bar while I waited for my order and ended up taking it to go too, because the food was ready so quickly (snapped the photo before they packaged it up for me). I got the elote, chicken tinga and fish tacos. All were 10/10. Can't wait to stop by again and try more of the menu!

Melena S.

Yelp
Food delicious! Service alright to bad lol. Chill vibes! I went on a Wednesday night looking for a table for two and they were busy! We sat at the bar and they really paid no mind to us after we put in our order for appetizers. They didn't ask how things were, didn't ask if we wanted anything else. I really wanted a margarita but yeah, paying us no mind but certainly paying attention to the guests on both sides of us. Eventually I asked but not because they tended to us and when I asked, she didn't get to it and then she forgot. So I didn't get it until I asked again. It felt like they were tired of us being there because the best service we got was when they asked if we wanted the bill and she gave the bill, ran the card, and gave it back waaaaay faster than anything else. The food was GOOD though. We got the nachos and the mango habanero wings, soooo yummy both of them! We wanted to get more food but yeah, no one was really paying us any mind. It's tough. But the nachos and mango habanero wings really hold it down!! I would recommend it to all. The nachos had the perfect chip and perfect amount of toppings. Yum! I definitely want to try more things on the menu so I will be back :)

Yelp
Certainly some of the best gourmet tacos in the greater Boston area. It's a little loud in there, but the food can't be beat. Never had anything bad there at all. Everything we have has been excellent. And good drinks too with very attentive service.

Ruby R.

Yelp
First went there and it was great sever Phil was awesome I had some tacos make sure y'all check it out y'all just need to repaint the yellow door because I couldn't find it

Haja F.

Yelp
Have to say this is a go to for me now whenever I need my taco fix. Their tacos and drinks are delicious. I've tried a good number of things from their menu and like that they do switch the menu up seasonal. It is a bit small but cozy with good music vibe. The service is always good even though they get busy. If you are a taco lover and looking for something new to try, I would recommend going here. They do have another location, haven't been there to speak on the quality.

Alaina Y.

Yelp
The food was amazing, the queso was my absolute favorite and the salsa was very yummy as well, the salsa did have a spicy kick to it. The service was great and I loved the upbeat music and environment on the inside, although I did sit outside because the inside tables were booked for reservations. The inside is very small with limited seating. I got a spicy margarita and it was watered down In My opinion, so I give the margarita a solid 6, the environment a 9 and the food a 10!!

Kira D.

Yelp
Such a bizzare night going to Yellow door. I had never been before but I have friends who have raved about it from the food to the atmosphere. To begin, the music inside is at the level of a club environment I could barely hear the person sitting directly across from me. Then there was the service. The poor hostess who was practically doing every role in the resturant besides actaully cooking the food. Multiple times people had come up asking to take our order when we had already put in food. Then, throughout the night there were multiple times when the food runners would bring over orders that weren't ours. I really hope this was a fluke of a night but after my experience tonight, I'd say it is very likely I WON'T be returning.

Marion D.

Yelp
We stopped by here after a hike in the Blue Hills, knowing nothing more than that it was a reasonably well-rated taco place. We found it's what one might call "upscale" or "elevated" Mexican fare, which is to say, $7 tacos that are too loaded to eat in your hand until you've picked off some of the filling, flavors that were OK but less fresh and spicy than any good low-budget taqueria would offer, and no good non-alcoholic options except mocktails or sodas (whereas any authentic Latin American place will offer multiple types of juice drinks). The decor is nice, service was quick and friendly, and I could see the bartenders make beautiful cocktails, so I could totally see this as a place to get drinks with friends. As a taqueria or a place to get authentic Mexican food in general, though, Greater Boston has many, many better alternatives.

Yelp
Amazing food and wonderful customer service, Everything was great, small place but very warm environment

Reggie W.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday afternoon and could park easily and FREE in this neighborhood. It was 95 degrees outside so we decided to eat inside. Their AC was having issues so it was a bit warm, but not unbearable. It's a relatively small restaurant and we were able to sit down right away. Our sever was OUTSTANDING and checked in on us quite a bit giving us a ice cold water frequently to make up for the lack of AC. In general, she was friendly, personable and consistent. We ordered the house made chips to start off and they gave us two baskets where one is plenty. The raw tuna dip wasn't for me, but my friend couldn't get enough. I ordered a Charred Brocolli taco ($5) as well as the Chicken Tinga taco ($6). Both were excellent!! Minus the AC, this spot was on point and would recommend it to any one who loves tacos.

Kayla M.

Yelp
It's really a shame because these are some of the best margaritas I have had but they need to take care of their rodent issue. We were sitting at the bar and saw at least 3 mice running around in the open under the dining tables. Absolutely unacceptable. If you're okay with eating and drinking with mice running around you then give it a try.

J W.

Yelp
Wish i could give them 10 stars the service is great, food is great, drinks are great the atmosphere is perfect only thing that sucks is it's not a bigger place but that's ok to best place in that area

John H.

Yelp
Picked up tacos to-go on a busy Friday night. It was packed inside but seemed like a fun and bustling place perfect for date night. I would call this place more of a bar that serves tacos rather than a restaurant. Scallop Taco and Fish Taco - by far the two best tacos I tried. The light breading allowed the fish to come through and the creamy sauce and toppings added just the right balance of texture and flavor. Duck Taco - Not gonna lie I was thrown off by the vanilla. Just didn't seem to go with the savoriness of the duck. Birria Beef Taco - This taco didn't quite do it for me either. The shredded beef was tender and well seasoned but with the dipping broth it was a bit soggy and fatty. Watermelon Salad - my wife was looking for something light and really enjoyed the salad. The creamy dressing is to die for. If you don't have luck finding street parking, keep going down Dorechester Ave until you see the CVS. There is a huge lot there and everyone seemed to be parking there so I guess it is safe from towing.

Bee G.

Yelp
Food was amazing. Especially the birria tacos! Churros were excellent. Woke up in Tijuana for a drink was unbelievable. It was so delicious!!! The star of the show is Phil one of the servers- he is awesome.

Clyde L.

Yelp
still worth the trip. Excellent service, drinks and oh those tacos. All the tacos we had were very good but personally I thought the Birra tacos were the best birra tacos I have every had. I also tried a breakfast taco as there is brunch on Saturday afternoons. It was delicious .

Kelly O.

Yelp
Everything here is very flavorful, fresh, and well-done with some nice modern twists on classics. All of the tacos I had (coconut shrimp, carnitas, charred broccoli and romesco) were really excellent, and they do not skimp on spice here. The elote nachos were unique and cravable (although to be fair some of the avocado pieces were already browning), and the birria tacos were purportedly solid as well- and they've got some great vegan options here too.

RM J.

Yelp
Experience was fine. Mostly a local spot serving decent food Not worth the drive for those that are not local

E.G. S.

Yelp
Pretty much love this joint. Food is great, drinks are great. Location is fabulous. Know when to go bc it can be quite busy. Staff are generally great.

Jane S.

Yelp
great night excellent food loved the tacos server was great drinks were bomb hostess so helpful

Ladee Bugz R.

Yelp
Service was slowww and cold . Food wasn't authentic. They gave me fake Tajín! Typical of WP trying. I'll pass, thnx

Nicole S.

Yelp
The restaurant is cozy & quaint. The staff was very nice & the food phenomenal! The tacos were packed to the brim and the food was so tasty. This is definitely a local favorite for me now!

Anthony C.

Yelp
Amazing service by staff and manager! Great food and drinks! Make sure to make reservations ahead of time

Lauren P.

Yelp
Love the new items on the menu. Best margs in town. Only complaint is sometimes the tacos come to the table a bit lukewarm.

Nicole B.

Yelp
Really delicious food and even better ambiance! Came on a Sunday night and absolutely loved the music - old school reggaetón vibes! Place is located right at the very corner of the street so it may be easy to miss. Just remember to look for the yellow door and your should be fine! Had the coconut margarita and it was really good. Flavorful but not too sweet. The street corn nachos were so good! I couldn't get enough of whatever crema is on them. The tacos were all really delicious too. Scallop one comes on a cold taco which is good to know, but it still really good! I must say the star of the show was the Elote. Wow so good!! Perfect amount of the cheesy crema on top and corn was perfectly sweet and juicy. Staff is also super friendly and helpful if you need anything. Looking forward to coming back soon!

Sam T.

Yelp
Come here for the tacos! The birria and pork belly are to die for! Also, indoor dining seems to be cozy and lively. Will definitely come again!

Gio B.

Yelp
This is ONLY for you the food. Wow! Wow! Wow! Food is absolutely delicious! We had the chip and queso con chorizo, scallop, coconut shrimp tacos. AnD the churros!!!! Sooo this place is a TRUE hole in the wall. Shoesize place. I saw a lot of people doing take out. Either or is fine Drinks - Pasa me la Botella I think it s called. Too die for literally!! Definitely will get food there again in the future!!

BurgerBaron G.

Yelp
Good cocktails for the most part. Tacos are inventive but too "fussed over", by which I mean a bit too many additions and too full. Street tacos should be handier to eat, these are a bit too full (I know, complaining about too much meat in a taco, but...). Also a "plain" street taco would be cool - just marinated, seasoned meat, some onion, maybe cilantro and a few dashes of sriracha, hot sauce, whatever. The queso with chorizo was more like a soup than a slightly stretchy cheese dip. Was hoping for a good, simple street taco place in the area but... anyway.

Koi S.

Yelp
Awesome food menu! Try their amazing taco and margaritas selection! One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Boston!

Sarah O.

Yelp
The duck and fish tacos were really great (don't worry-- that's two separate tacos). The guac was just okay and the queso was much thicker than I'm used to at Mexican-esque restaurants, but I got somewhat used to it over time. It just didn't have the liquid-y quality nor the cheesy quality I usually see with queso. Overall the prices are high for what you get ($40 for 2 tacos + guac + queso), so you want to make sure to get things you love. I would go back for the duck and fish tacos (again, separately), but skip the guac and queso.

Sandy T.

Yelp
Literally one of the best places to eat in Dorchester! I showed up to yellow door on a Saturday night with my fiancee without a reservation. I was worried we would have to wait a long time for a table but we were able to be seated at the bar right away (one of the benefits to being based outside the center of the city). Yellow Door has great vibes if you're looking for a place to chill out and have drinks. It's not too loud/noisy, plays good music, and the low lighting and smaller interior make the place feel a little bit more intimate. My fiancée and I ordered a couple of their cocktails which were pretty yummy but also strong as a heads up! We also tried several of their tacos which we immediately scarfed down like a hungry pack of wolves. We agreed that our favorite tacos were the chili duck and the queso carne but you can't go wrong with any of their tacos.

Anthony C.

Yelp
Great vibe, great food and excellent drinks! We has 8:15 reservations however the place is tiny. We were a party of four and had to wait another 15 minutes before our table was ready. We all had variations of a margarita which were excellent. Wife loved the chips and queso. We then tried fish tacos, coconut shrimp taco, carnitas taco and chicken tinga taco. Also we had the habanero wings. All the food hit the spot with the margaritas. We even saw actor Kevin Chapman having dinner! All in all - a good spot.

Somaly K.

Yelp
Went for a girls lunch and stayed well beyond 2 hours! We tried almost all of the tacos but there really wasn't any that stood out more than the other, they were all pretty good. Drinks were delicious! The place is very small so reservations are definitely a must.

Haley M.

Yelp
Bartender got pissed when we refused to pay for our appetizer after seeing a family of rats run across the floor. Wasn't even going to say anything to anyone nevermind write a review but the disparaging attitude given by the bartender after having rats run across our feet rubbed us the wrong way. Embarrassing they would even charge us for food after moving our seats knowing we saw the rats running under our table. This place is a health inspection away from being off the map!!!

Davetta K.

Yelp
The drinks are A1 And I really liked the beef barbacoa. My chicken taco still had bones in it but I wasn't really feeling the sauce. The cauliflower tacos was a complete no despite the slight kick it had; tbh I didn't real the full ingredients but something mixed in there I did not like. Also, if you get chicken and beef , make sure you eat the chicken first because the sauce runs heavily and makes the taco soggy. I was also told that the winter squash was really yummy. But thank you for the vibes and the tunes , it was a nice Tuesday Night w. a friend
