I went in to see the Ethiopian coffee ceremony, and found the walls covered in art, which I should have guessed considering the name of the place. The art was centered around the works of one artist, but it seems to rotate every few months. It was nice to get to see so many pieces by one artist and really explore how they see the world. I'm not really an arts person, but I enjoyed it thoroughly. One of the first things you'll notice is how approachable everyone is. I got to strike up a conversation with anyone and everyone and it was lots of fun. It makes viewing the art even better when you are flying solo. The coffee ceremony was super fun. We all sat in silence as it began but once the smells wafted through the air, the conversations started in the cramped space (cramped because of so many people attending!) It was like magic, strangers just started talking to each other. It was quite the experience to see something so simple as a scent spark so much socializing. The people who volunteered there are super friendly. I felt like I could spend all day there. It's a beautiful gem, tucked away in an unassuming corner. I highly recommend a visit, I very much enjoyed my time and plan to go to their next event.

Such an incredible and impactful space in Jacksonville at the intersection of art and community. The Yellow House is engaged in mutual aid efforts for the local community through their food cart and little free library. It is so warm and inviting inside and the art gallery is so impressive. It also rotates every few weeks with a different theme!

There's always a hidden gem in Jacksonville that's often overlooked. It's imaginative, powerful, historic, and deeply rooted in giving back to the community. Get to the 'Yellow House' and experience it for yourself. 🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇

A lovely and welcoming environment. My family's first visit there was for an event. They opened it to all ages. My 8 year old son said he "felt inspired" by his experience. My 12 year old thoroughly enjoyed the installation. They both enjoyed the planned activities that were provided. We will certainly be back.

Yelp
There is something magical that happens when creativity, art, poetry, community, activism, and education intersect. Hope McMath has curated amazing exhibits that change frequently giving visitors something fresh and new each time. Yellow House is also a family friendly affair with a kids table and chairs for art, activities, and books. Hope is the perfect host with kids snacks and refreshments for adults. The Yellow House also hosts continuous educational events, writing space, and is a safe space where art and social justice merges. This space is not only an art gallery but also a place that encourages and hosts community building projects. This space really is an amazing resource for Jacksonville and great for the entire family.
