Amazing sushi and service. We loved everything, especially the the salmon flight, both tartare, crispy rice, and spicy scallop roll. Very fresh and tasty. Reservation wasn’t available online but we got there and it was empty, they gave us the best seats. Then it quickly filled up with a lot of walk ins. Thank you

Hands down my favorite sushi spot around! Everything we ordered was beautifully plated. The salmon flight is my favorite plate. Every bite is an explosion of flavor! But the reality is, I can say that about everything we ordered. Not to mention how attentive the staff is. Highly recommend for sure!

This was my wife's and I first time ordering from this restaurant and this is the reason why I'm giving a 1 star. We have always wanted to try sushi and this is our second time doing so. Our order took 2hrs! The food was great though! Until I found a hair on my food!

Loved the nigiri sampler with hamachi, salmon and tuna!!! That's a must have. The Kobe beef main dish was excellent as well!

First time at Yellowtail and I had quite a mixed experience. The food itself was very good and the fish was incredibly fresh, although I was hoping that the portions of the rolls especially for the price were a little larger. As a sushi place, I could definitely see myself coming back as I felt like they had a great menu! However, I came with a group of 6, and it took a long time to get our order in. After we ordered, it took 50 minutes for the first plate of food to hit our table and around 60 minutes before all our food was here. The food took so long that some of us ended up walking over to a nearby taco place to get a quick bite. I might put it down to the fact that they were busier than usual but I’ve also never waited so long for food in my life. I’ll definitely be giving it another try maybe at a less busy time!

A solid sushi spot in the heart of Lakeview. We were expecting a quiet sushi bar, but the restaurant turned out to be a modern dining space with uptempo music in the background. The seats in the back room had a pretty intimate atmosphere. The selection of rolls and nigiri was extensive. The Uni Otoro, Koshou Madai, and Seared Salmon Belly nigiri stood out for their freshness and unique flavor combinations. A minor note is that the sushi rice tasted a bit dry and was a bit lacking in the rice vinegar flavor. Several rolls were excellent, especially the Hotate and Yellowtail Maki. The Furemingu Maki was more average. Overall, a great dining experience, though the prices leaned towards the higher side, averaging close to $75/person.

It’s popular place in this east lake view area. It’s asian food with sushi dishes. i ordered more on sushi and seafood because i m a sushi lover but i would say it just fine. All staff are helpful and great. It’s kinda cool place to hang out and it’s BYOB.

The restaurant is dedicated to using only the freshest ingredients in its ever-evolving menu, which features both classic Japanese dishes and more unique offerings. The casual, yet refined atmosphere is perfect for a relaxed meal with friends or family. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Yellow Tail with my partner, and we were both blown away by the food and service. We started with the crispy spring rolls, which were perfectly fried and filled with fresh vegetables and chicken. For our main courses, I had the teriyaki grilled bento dinner, which was an amazing value. The grilled chicken was perfectly cooked and the teriyaki sauce was delicious. For my roll, I had the crispy spicy California roll, which was the best sushi I have ever had. My partner had the Kobe beef tenderloin, which was cooked to perfection and melted in our mouths. The service at Yellow Tail was excellent. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, and she made sure that we had everything we needed. Overall, we had an amazing experience at Yellow Tail Sushi and Asian Kitchen. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was perfect. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience in Chicago.
