Sachère, An Adorable New Dessert Counter Arrives in the Village | Eater Montreal

"I spotted a slick new Japanese restaurant on Mackay Street—Yen Cuisine Japonais—which boasts a dimly lit, den-like interior and a menu of sushi, noodles and rice bowls; with foie gras and salmon roe showing up in a few dishes, it seems to be styling itself as a somewhat more high-end destination." - Tim Forster

Wow, the salmon appetizer and fried dragon roll i had here were so so good! The salmon had literal fried, crispy, puffy salmon skin with a raw salmon tartar on top - super crunchy and delicious. Three dragon roll was perfectly spicy and flavorful. Both were very filling and well prepared. The place itself is also really nice - it looks like it could be a spot for formal meetings or just casual lunches. So so so good! One of my new favorite sushi spots in town!

Omg this place has the most fine and yummy dishes. Been there twice and will come back to taste them all! Sophisticated japanese cuisine at its finest. Only once i got pissed because they served us the entrées along with the main dish even though i had specifically asked not to. But I guess this is also something used to happen in Canada.. It happens to me a LOT in this country lol But the second time i ve been there they were amazing on the service, so its all forgiven!

Loved our visit to YEN Cuisine Japonaise! Fresh, flavorful dishes with a modern twist and such a lively, youthful energy. Great spot to enjoy delicious Japanese cuisine with friends!

I took many friends to YEN over the past two years. This time, I ordered one of their poke bowls with salmon and scallops—it was beautifully arranged, super fresh, and the balance of flavors was spot on. The rice was seasoned just right, and the sauce had enough depth without overpowering the ingredients. What stood out to me was how calm and inviting the space felt. It’s minimal but warm, with clean lines and soft lighting that make you want to slow down and actually enjoy your food. The staff were really kind too—patient with questions, and they seemed to genuinely care about making sure the bowl came out the way I liked it.

Google
It was my second time visiting this sushi place. Loved it as usual. I'd rate it as the top few Japanese sushi places in Montreal among those I've been to. Every dish (those shown in the pics) was yummy. We ordered a few more (Toshikoshi soba, beef rice bowl and Kizuna Hotate Maki) which we forgot to take pics. They were also really delicious!

Google
The food was amazing and tasty, presentations were great too. The staff were so kind and thoughtful. Very happy customers!

Google
Celebrating my birthday, staffs were very nice and welcoming. They paid attention to the occasion we have reserved and offered us a slice of cake to celebrate my birthday and even sang me happy birthday song. Food and presentation was good. We enjoyed their Chirashi bowls.

Google
NOT FRESH! Asked for the uni, I was told there was only one portion left, and when it was served, it already went bad. You can tell it from the photo that the uni was not in shape. Then they only gave 10% off, even without any apology, and I believe that is not enough to cover the bad uni either.

Yelp
We loved the place! Came early, so were seated right away. Great variety of appetizers and sashimi/sushi. Excellent quality of fish and very creative appetizers. They ran out of dessert which was a bummer :-) Service was fast and friendly and I loved their dishes!

Yelp
We Were reading reviews on yelp and decided to dine here. Thanks for the Excellent service , Taian! The recommendations for all your suggestions were "so perfect "!! We Will come back Here again :)

Camila V.

Yelp
Service is always quick and the poke bowls are delicious. In other places, it's often disappointing how little fish you get but not here! They're generous in their portions and it really is worth it for the price.

Yelp
This was the lowlight of our Montreal dining experience. The food just didn't cut it. It was sushi. It wasn't izakaya. The tastes were just strange. I don't think anyone in the kitchen has any idea of Japanese food. Better pass.
google avatar

Yelp
I'd totally drive hours here to enjoy their sea urchin & foie gras. Sea urchin is super fresh & foue gras is super tender, a perfect balance with eel. Took one star off b/c the bottles of saki are way too expensive (a small bottle for $48). Service was ok when it's super busy.

Yelp
While I value local businesses and understand the impact of a bad review, it's important for clients to be aware of quality issues. I tried the Ten Zaru Soba and found the sauce overly sour, deviating from the traditional Japanese tsuyu taste. The noodles were too sticky, and the tempuras weren't evenly fried. Fellow community members reported similar experiences, which I wish I'd checked beforehand as a local guide. To the owner: please consider studying this dish to match its authentic flavours. It's not fair for people who try it for the first time and remember it as something that it should not be!

Yelp
The food was not good. I had beef/shitake with rice, and the beef was chewy. My friend had a poke bowl in which the tuna was not good. I do not recommend this restaurant.
google avatar

Susan A.

Yelp
A cute little place! A huge menu. Very hard to choose and I am always suspicious of places with such extensive menus-how do they keep all that food fresh? We were here on an August Saturday and it was not super busy. I had the salmon tuna poke bowl which had a lot of veggies. The spicy Mayo overwhelmed it a bit. I would have that on the side next time. Husband had the soba noodles with tempura. Too much fried food for my taste. Portions are ample and food is served quickly. Would I come back---yes. Is it the best I have had of this type of food-no but not bad. Service is friendly.

Tina Y.

Yelp
I saw the "Choix de la clientele 2024" by OpenTable and invited my friend to eat there, both of us were quite disappointed. There are not many options on the memu, the food did not taste good. Tuna in the poke bowl was not fresh.
google avatar

Yelp
This place was a very pleasant surprise. My husband wanted sushi and we didn't really know where to go. The sushi places on the neighborhood around our hotel, literally 15-minutes walk from YEN Cuisine Japonaise, were all pretty expensive. This place looked reasonably priced. Both my husband and I have spent some time in Japan and this felt pretty legit Izakaya-style food. It was delicious. The tempura was great and we had an amazing sushi with tasty Maguro tuna. The service was perfect and the ambiance, typical of a busy Japanese bistro. I would recommend this place.
google avatar

Greg L.

Yelp
Fresh, creatively prepared, beautifully presented food. It was good to have a wider variety of seafood than we often find.
google avatar

Sherry S.

Yelp
It is a decent place to grab sushi. I found the foie gras sushi not at all what I expected, as I realized later it is goose not duck, so it is a milder flavour, too mild and creamy for a sushi pairing. Food is fresh, all delicious to eat. Thick slabs of fish, not skimpy. Would I come back? Yes, it's a step up from random sushi shops, and good quality but personally I'm not a fan of mayo-based sauces that permeate everything these days (including the sauce they drizzled all over the hotate (scallop) and ruined the flavour for me. I prefer raw fish, raw sushi, and cleaner flavours. That's half a star off. The other half star being taken off is that their tempura is AWFUL. I am expecting tempura to be light, crispy, shards of flaky lovely bits that explode when you bite down. What I got was an oil soaked tempura battered shrimp that I choked down because I paid $$ for it. It was a medium brown, not the light yellow I was expecting. I will come back to try other dishes, but avoid tempura at all costs. Service was great. They're really nice.

Yelp
From the outside, you might not expect much. It's located under another building so it might be hard to catch. However, it is amazing. I wouldn't say it's a "hidden gem" because it seems to be pretty popular-- and it deserves that! When you walk in, the decor of the interior is like a breath of fresh air. Minimal, but very Asian. The staff are nice and the service was really good! The food came out quick and the waitress that served us was super great at communicating. My friend and I ordered a feast (we finished it all!). Two different Chirashi bowls, tempura, raw octopus, and an I pictured ikura steamed egg. My Chirashi was amazing. I got the one with the egg on it.the flavours of the fish were out of this world and the scallops literally melted in my mouth. The rice had a nice sesame oil taste and it came with nori sheets that paired rlly well it it! The tempura was *chefs kiss* I've never had TOMATO tempura before, and it was definitely unique. The raw octopus was good too-- heads up, it has a strong wasabi kick that'll instantly clear your nostrils. The ikura steamed egg was sooo good too, the ikura just popped in our mouths. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her Chirashi as well. I almost wish the menu was LESS options because it was extremely hard to pick. I'll definitely be back so I can try new things. 10/10, amazing experience!!!!!

Yelp
If you are looking for a take out option. This poké bowl place is pretty delicious to try out. They always put good quantity of meat and veggies to stuff you up. The sauce is very delicious. I've try many times for quick take out. Location itself is pretty nicely decorated. It's also a good place to have a drink with friends.

Yelp
A new discovery near Concordia! I love their innovative menu and meal presentation, and of course it also tastes amazing. I've been here twice now and I've tried their tartare, avocado, and soba noodles. They don't disappoint. I really recommend the avocado tartare as an entree and the chicken miso soba noodles. Those were my favourite meals of theirs so far. What I like about their noodles is they serve the broth in a teapot on the side so you pour at your leisure.

Yelp
This place is so cute!! From the neon signs at the entrance to the colorful sake bottles lining the walls, YEN Cuisine Japonaise definitely knows how to decorage its interior to make everything look cozy and inviting. We went there last night for dinner, and took two tables in the back. The menu was beautifully illustrated, and the food seemed delicious. I got the Gyu Toshikoshi Soba, and my friends got the Hotatedon, Oyakodon and Gyudon, amongst others. The food took quite a while to come (~40 min). The food looked beautiful and the dinnerware was very neat. The broth for the soba was served in a teapot, which was an interesting touch. Taste wise, things were a bit less exciting. Flavors were good but did not keep my attention for very long. The Hotatedon, in particular, was overtaken by katsuobushi while the scallops were thin and discreet, hiding under the roe. We overall had a good time, but not so much because of the food.

Yelp
Amazing. We came here during our trip in Montreal. We made a reso for dinner. The food is amazing I had the soba with salmon in soup. So delicious. I wish the portion was a bit bigger. I was still a bit hungry for more! We also had the plum wine which is my fav and I got the crew to love it too! Would def be coming back every visit!

Yelp
A hole in the wall. Very good value for the price. We loved every thing especially the crunchy roll, spicy miso, and rainbow salad. The green tea cheesecake was nice and small and not too heavy. The foie gras egg custard was very good but a bit heavy. Deluxe sushi set is good but not outstanding. Foie gras sushi was average but very good value. I would skip the peach sake next time. It was quite sweet. The beef was also too tough. Service was very good.

Yelp
First time trying out YEN. Sushi was ok but I kind of expected a bit more. The tuna nigiri pieces were a bit odd, there were extra stuff that they should've probably trimmed off the tuna because they couldn't be chewed without a knife!

Les P.

Yelp
Great food, great service! The tuna was so fresh and amazing. The gyoza was perfection. And the edamame was like no other! So good.
google avatar

Katherine B.

Yelp
Lychee iced tea, gyoza, and teriyaki beef were all delicious (beef was flavourful but a bit chewy). The lychee in the tea were sweet and flavourful and the gyoza were tasty. Make sure you have a reservation because it gets busy. Peaceful, hip crowd and ambiance. A bit too pricy for what it's worth.

William S.

Yelp
Wow! Absolutely the worst dinner I've had pretty much ever. I was greeted by a condescending server who gave me a bottle of water with black mould around the cap and the hottest glass straight out of the glass washer that literally I pushed both to the side. I ordered the foie gras chawanmushi and the deluxe nigiri. I also order house hot sake. First came the nigiri. Right past my table to the next and of course they say. "We didn't even order yet,". Them dumbfounded sever who I took the order with says "did you order this". Bro I just literally ordered this from you. Are you high? Imagine eating brown akami. 200 g of rice and 2 g of neta. Bland brown tuna. Nikiri or soy dipping sauce I had to request after eating my first piece. I assumed it was seasoned because of the discolouration. Chawanmushi. Hahahaha another joke. A sliver of unseasoned foie gras with a chipped cup. I might have internal bleeding after this. Thanks for a well wasted money, Will.

Yelp
I really like this restaurant! Fishes are fresh and I enjoyed my meal very much. However this is a small portion considering how much it costs, I am okay with it because I don't eat a lot but I am sure it's not enough for people who eat much. Also, I noticed there was a girl who didn't wear a mask and works in the kitchen OR she was taking a break? Either way, I don't want to see a person working in the kitchen without her mask on even without COVID. Taking a star off for this but I will give it a second try.

Yelp
YEN is hidden under La Panthere Verte and under another Japanese restaurant so it's easy to miss, but that would be a shame. The place is so cozy and charming: the walls are wooden beams, the light is soft.. They have the most beautiful menus, printed with a black background and lush images. I am a sucker for wakame and of course ordered the entree: it was fresh and delicious served with a little roe. I had shrimp tempura and soba which was so good I saved some for later. My date had the duck and soba dish and that duck was so tasty I would recommend it in a heartbeat. They have some dessert (matcha creme brulee and something else) but sadly I haven't tried them...yet! YEN is such a cute place for a date! Date or not, I will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
What a great little place near Concordia! Definitely a little hidden gem and very reasonably priced. The service was a little slow but we were a big group. I had there vegetable tempura. It was so fresh and delicious definitely did not regret getting it! By the time my main dish came I was pretty full but still had my noodles in a spicy miso. Again so good! Everyone in our group loved everything. I will definitely be coming back, so many more things to try.
google avatar

Gabrielle L.

Yelp
I was looking up Japanese restaurants in Montreal and stumbled upon this one. A friend had also mentioned it to me but we both hadn't been here yet. Instead of going to the actual restaurant I saw that YEN delivers on Uber Eats. Being sick and lazy, my boyfriend and I decided to order in on a Friday night. Boy am I glad we did! It was delicious!! The food would probably be even better at the restaurant because it would be more fresh and just the right temperature. I will definitely be back! We ordered four things from the menu but the restaurant messed up and only made two out of the four things. We had to call them back and they made us order a soup so that they could add the other two dishes to our order. They refunded us the soup but since they messed up and we had to wait another 40 minutes for our food I felt like they should have made it up to us like maybe give us a free appetizer or dessert or something. Technically we got the soup for free but it was a simple miso soup and honestly I took one sip and threw it out. It was way too salty. I love foie gras so I basically got everything from the menu with foie gras!! We ordered the foie gras salad. It's so not healthy but damn that salad was tasty! The salad was your typical leafy green salad but with four pieces of foie gras in it and sesame. Not sure what the dressing was made out of but I liked it. We also ordered the grilled duck breast with soba noodles and creamy sesame sauce (Kamo Goma Soba). We wanted the green tea buckwheat soba noodles but unfortunately they ran out. There were four pieces of duck breast with noodles and salad. I was surprised that the salad was there. My boyfriend and I shared both plates and in the end I ended up mixing both the foie gras salad and soba noodles together which paired well together and there was already salad in the soba noodles anyway. Then we waited about 40 min for our order. We ordered the nigiri moriawase which I highly recommend. It comes with 6 nigiri: salmon, blue fin tuna, foie gras, scallop, BBQ eel and shrimp tempura. Everything was so good!! The shrimp tempura nigiri was probably the least impressive and the one I enjoyed least but it was still good. We also ordered the foie gras Uramaki roll. This was also delicious!! The inside of the roll contained tamago (Japanese omelette) and avocado and the outside of the roll was salmon with a piece of foie gras on top and roe (fish eggs). I will definitely go to the restaurant and I will definitely order delivery again because even though they messed up our order the food exceeded my expectations!

Yelp
So I don't know if the restaurant had paid influencers or not for such high ratings, as I came here with very high expectations but left with a bad taste in my mouth. First impression, great deco, they def cater to the Instagram dinners. With the lights shining on the table for gréât pictures. Then it pretty much went downhill after. I should really have paid attention to the many previous reviews about bad service. It was one of the worst ones I have experienced in a long time....I'm talking in years. And I go out to eat almost every week. We ordered three items, the salmon and foie gras roll 20$, salmon on rice with broth 11$ and salmon roe and sea urchin soba for 18$. (I'm rounding off/up to the dollar amount before tax) The rice and soba came first. Both dishes required mixing which I did. The soba had zero taste, no sauce....and when the waitress came asking how is the food, I told her bluntly it taste bad, as it's totally bland. She came back with the house sauce....which was a salad sauce....not soba. So I requested the dish to be returned. A manager or senior waiter came and started saying if I wanted to return the dish I should have returned it right away, not before I ate all the sea urchin and roe.....I told him, I mixed it not ate it. Then I processed to find him the three pieces of the sea urchin (the dish only comes with three pieces) and all the salmon roe that was just covered under the noodles. He then proceeded to tell me that I shouldn't have mixed it.....at this point I'm like...are you crazy.....the dish is suppose to be mixed.....then he told me that soba is like this, bland......that's how we make it here. So I said well if you choose to be different from all the other Japanese restos here in how you make soba and make it bland, please warn me when I asked you about the sobe before I was ordering the meal. So I was adamant I'm returning the meal...all these time my sushi still didn't come. I had enough and asked for the bill. They removed the soba but still charged me for the sushi which never arrived and I had to ask to get my corrected bill again. Overall...I'm sure it's a mutual feeling that Neither parties want me to come to this place again.

Yelp
We came here at 8 pm to order some takeouts, waiting outside for 80 minutes for the food. We only order two rolls and one sashimi plate, and I don't understand why it takes so long. If your kitchen can't take this much capacity, stop taking takeouts. Horrible, horrible experience. NEVER coming back again and not recommend you to come either.

Jeanette W.

Yelp
A wonderful dining experience from the moment you walked in. The tucked in experience of the tables, beautiful presentation of food, and flavors all sparked memories of Japan. It was an epic way to finish a rainy night in Montreal.
google avatar

Yelp
Very good Japanese food! I ordered a tenzaru soba and they gave a very generous portion of tempura and the soba was made perfectly! Price is decent for a japanese restaurant and a lot of varieties of dishes. I would definitely go back

Yelp
As I wondered around Concordia, I came across this beautiful place with food that made me felt like a 5 years old eating my favorite dish made by world's best mom! Although a bit pricey, but it's definitly worth every penny. I was astonished by its deliciousness that I forgot to remember the name of the dish I ordered. Please look at picture underneath for reference. It was a hot and tender soba clearly made from the heart and soul of the chef. On top of it, was a fried teriyaki chicken fried to perfection. The chicken was crunchy yet tender from the inside. It came with a small portion of salad that I'm sure was from costco (not a complaint, I love costco products hehe). My supper also came with a spicy salmon miso soup that I forgot to take a picture!!! What a crime from my part. I gotta say, one of the best miso soup. I would drink it everyday as my entre if I could! Overall, like the terminator once said "I'll be back".

Yelp
Delicious food, convenient location and great service. We had the takowasabi, kaisen barachirashi and the soba noodles. They were all fresh and delicious. The takowasabi had a strong wasabi taste, perfect for congested nose. The kaisen chirashi was very fresh and the sauce was perfect with the combo of avocado and raw fish. The soba were nice and the soup was comforting. It cost us around 20$ per person. The service was great. The waiter was friendly and has a nice smile. The place had a nice deco and is clean. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
Went to Yen cuisine with a group of 12 on a Saturday night. The place is very cozy with dim light and a decor with wood accents. Service was really good, staff very nice. We had a reservation at 8pm and restaurant closed at 9 but they let us stay without any problems until about 11pm. One downside is that my friend had ordered an appetizer and a meal and the meal came so late everyone was almost done theirs. The food presentation is great for photos, very colorful. I had the kaisen barachirashi which was a sort of poke bowl but with a lot of lettuce. Taste was good, a little on the bland side but i liked it, nothing wow. Also had the home sake (hot) which was also good. I tried one of the sushi (can't remember the name) but it was on a fried salmon skin. I didn't really like it as it was very fishy. A friend had one of the soba bowl and the noodles were overcooked. Also didn't have much taste as he kept on adding and adding soy sauce and spices. Another friend had the foie gras sushi and she mentioned it was delicious. I guess it's a hit and miss depending on what you take.

Ngan Ha H.

Yelp
Just one word: AWESOME! Delicious urgh. It's definitely a must if you are a fan of Japanese cuisine. A bit pricey but it's worth a try!!! Best decoration, best taste not too crowded and really cozy place. I've been here once and got delivered three or four times. Soba is the best!
google avatar

Stan C.

Yelp
Ah, the thrill of a new discovery!! This discrete new Japanese restaurant serves Soba noodles the likes of which I have never experienced. These were prepared in Dashi and some mystical ingredients that made them smoky and sweet and enticing. Atop this mound of slippery Soba goodness was a healthy serving of duck slices - perfectly cooked, toothsome and juicy alongside a delicate handful of greens. All the flavours complemented each other, playing nice and not competing for superiority. Superbe! For dessert I tried the black sesame Crème Brulée. It was tasty, and different to my palate, but the fusion of oriental and occidental cuisines remained harmonious. It being a month old (the restaurant, not the Crème) and that fall term classes haven't started yet it was underpopulated. Do not expect that to be the case come September. This place should be hopping!
google avatar

Faye F.

Yelp
This restaurant had a number of innovative dishes that I haven't seen before. They were all delicious. They had many specialties that were charred. The ambiance was also lovely. I like the decor it was moody and great. Overall I'm glad I found this place. I can't wait to come back. I wish I had taken better note of the notable dishes.
google avatar

Kay L.

Yelp
Not bad for a restaurant that just opened! I really like the interior of the place, exactly what it should look like when you enter a Japonaise place. The food is very good and flavorful. I ordered a lot of raw fish and it wasn't smelly. It was F R E S H! This is the place where I'd go eat and hangout.

Yelp
Got a reservation quickly for dinner tonight for a party of four. Two kids and two adults. We ordered the the teriyaki steak, tori karaage (fried chicken), tofu spicy miso soup with soba noodles, and teriyaki chicken soba noodles. All was fresh and delicious! My sons really enjoyed their small plates. The food came out staggered and fairly fast. The service is quite slow. Be prepared to have the servers take their time to obtain your order and give you the check. Of note, there are only chopsticks which is fine for my husband and me. However, my kids had to try to use chopsticks or their hands to eat. They didn't mind. I did ask if there are forks and there aren't. They don't have kids-style chopsticks either. They were unfortunately out of Sapporo. Bummer! There is sake but we didn't want it. I almost took off a star for the service being quite slow. But they are so nice and super busy. Lots of take out and the place filled up from half full to three quarters by the time we finished
google avatar

Yelp
A very nice restaurant with the best sushi I've tasted so far in Montreal. There's also a different type of dishes that you can't find in others japanese restaurants. The waiters are so nice and kind. Recommended 100% !

Yelp
I visited this resto as one of a group of 12 foodies on a Friday night, and we all agreed that we loved the food, cozy space, and light ambiance. This spot is really informal and the menu is extensive; I opted for the tartare in avocado, as well as their miso noodle soup with teriyaki chicken. Both dishes were super yummy, but the soba noodles (made in-house) were exceptional! The soup comes with a separate kettle full of warm broth so you can always top up as you go; love! Although the service was a little off, as the dishes were not being served all at once, we still managed to alll catch up wIth our mains so the diner ended perfectly! I would definitely return to try some if their rice bowls and more of those delicious noodles!

Daniel H.

Yelp
I ordered a Fuji Chirashi rice bowl (salmon, sea urchin, scallop, tuna...) and a Gyu Tataki Soba noodle bowl (beef, soft boiled egg) for delivery. Unfortunately, I was a bit underwhelmed. I liked the seafood rice bowl just fine; the ingredients were fresh, and the flavors worked well together. The soba bowl, however, featured a sauce that was too strong; it overpowered the subtle flavors of the soba noodles and the lightly seared beef. Where the freshness of the sea was enjoyable in the first dish, the second one felt disharmonious, the acidic sauce overtaking the other, gentler flavors. The soft boiled egg, which was nice and runny, did add a certain mellow creaminess to balance it... but I also found bits of egg shells, somehow! Overall, an okay experience, but I was not impressed.

童宇

Yelp
Not bad but more expensive than the foods worth. I ordered a foie gras hotate chirashi (rice bowl), the portion is very small, but the foie gras tasted fine. The restaurant is very small and can get really crowded in peak hours. When I was there a table behind me was laughing and coughing in a very disgusting manner.

Yelp
Wanted to try a new sushi place as the ones in Griffintown are not that great. We ordered takeout, kaisen chirashi, two sushi rolls (unagi and dragon) and one karache chicken. Great value for the money, everything was ready on time, food was delicious. Will definitely order again.

Yelp
I think this can be my two hours drive to and from once a week worth it place! I am not usually a nigiri person but ordered their nigiri moriawase because it looked so good! Let's just say that I wanted to turn around, go back in and order another set of nigiri! Also, do not think that it's expensive there because there are no prices listed on the menu in their site. It is very affordable! The only issue that I have, and it's not a big one, is that they only serve sake, shoju and beer. So no wine. Probably make it a Friday thing lol

Yelp
The food is fresh and delicious. You have to try the foie gras nigiri moriwase. It is heavenly. Definitely coming back here to try everything foie gras! The soba noodles were fresh and delicious. Service was friendly and helpful. Leaving with a full stomach and very happy taste buds.

Yelp
This is a pretty solid Japanese restaurant in Montreal. They have quite the extensive menu, with lots of variety and thankfully many options for me as I don't eat seafood or fish! I started with the Renkon Age (lotus chips)...probably falls in the category of "I bet you can't eat just one". Then I tried the Gyu Tataki Soba. I really enjoyed it. Presentations of food were really nice too. The restaurant itself has a great decor. The service was great as well. Definitely would be back.

Yelp
Good tataki and salmon foie gras. Need reservations in order to get in. Rice bowl was okay.

Yelp
The service was great, and the team provided solid recommendations including which sake paired best with my meal. The Niji salad was phenomenal as was the sake. I was not however a fan of the tempura... it had a thick breading and tasted oily.

Yelp
Love this place especially the food, service and the decoration. Perfect for dating or simply just a dinner/lunch. The staffs here are extremely nice and fast. For Food presentation, I would rate 10/10. PlusWith variety of choices I would guarantee that you will not be disappointed of the food taste. Nice location and cozy ambiance. Highly recommend this restaurant for those who love Japanese food!
