"Chef Walter Marskamp's plant-forward menu offers something for both vegans and omnivores alike. The a la carte or five-course tasting menu is focused on produce. Find seasonal items such as spiced zucchini beignets with zhoug and dill yogurt or winter mushroom pie with beluga lentils. There's a wine list with a large selection of natural wines. It's perfect for a quiet night out to catch up with a friend, especially if one is vegan or vegetarian." - Meredith Bethune

Excellent mostly vegan restaurant. The menu is entirely vegan but you can add meat or fish if desired. The wine pairing is also very good. The restaurant is on the noisy side - some extra acoustic design would be nice to have. The dishes are interesting combinations of flavours.

I truly hate to give poor reviews to restaurants I can tell are really putting in the effort so let me give you some of my credentials first. I’m a 10+ year veteran in the service industry. The other people I was dining with are also in fine dining (chefs and FOH). I’ve also been a vegetarian for over ten years. So I do have high expectations, I’ll admit that. But with a high price tag and good reviews who wouldn’t? We all did the full vegan tasting menu with wine pairings. They had an option for dessert and we had both chosen in our group. I don’t want to get into too much so I’ll just say this. Every single dish severely lack seasoning, it certainly had not been tasted by anyone who believes vegan cuisine can be just as delicious as “regular food.” Many dishes has sever texture issues as well. One dessert was genuinely inedible because the cake on the bottom had congealed to a texture that was impossible to cut through. Service was well timed but fairly stale as they just repeated the same descriptions to each table and really added no personal thoughts or emotion to it. The wine pairings were delightful and played a large role in saving our experience. They did seem to notice we weren’t having an exceptional time as they attempted a service recovery at the end by having the chef bring over an extra treat. We very much appreciated this gesture. Perhaps I had my expectations too high but for that price the wine and service recovery techniques were unfortunately not enough to keep me from feeling the need to share my negative experience. I do believe they have incredible potential there and truly hope we just went on an off day.

We had a great time here to celebrate my partner’s birthday! Food was excellent with great tastes and combinations. Also, service was super kind and our waiter took the time each time to introduce us our next plate. I read a few comments about the noise inside of the restaurant. It could only happen if you have noisy people around you as the tables are quite close to each other. Apart of this, nothing to highlight apart of a great experience from the start to the end. Thank you!

Definitely the best vegetarian restaurant I have ever been to and such a friendly staff. If you like meat you can even add some to a selection of dishes (without paying extra). All the dishes have really daring tastes and structures and you can make a journey through palettes from very soft and comforting to spicy and bitter. Excellent! They also offer a vegan cheese platter: wow! A shame that we ordered the four course menu. Next time more!!! One lesser item is the acoustic. If you are sitting opposite of each other you can hardly hear what you’re saying. Of course we were here on a busy Friday night but something should be done about that. Despite the sound problem: we will come again! Thanks.

Yerba delivered one of the great dinners of my life. Imagine a concept restaurant where the food is fully realized. We ordered a four course (5 & 6 also available) at this plant forward restaurant with bio organic wine pairings. I loved the Salsify prepared 4 different ways: crispy fried, pickled, sautéed and made into a hummus. Incredibly tasty and paired with a white from Alsace. The chef-owner is friendly and helpful and our waiter was helpful and well-informed. Outstanding experience. Eat at Yerba, in the museum district - your senses will be glad that you treated them to dinner.

Wonderful food, service and atmosphere. A unique restaurant offering high quality vegan food at very reasonable prices. A tasting menu where you choose your dishes and if you do eat meat or fish you can add to some dishes.

Google
One of the few restaurants that pops up when you search for “vegan fine dining on Monday in Amsterdam”. But do not confuse it with a Fine Dine restaurant. Had reserved the place to take my wife for her birthday dinner. We opted for 6 course Chef’s menu. The food was very innovative and decent in taste.. course number 3 was outstanding. There were few things that we felt can be improved: 1. The dietary restrictions mentioned while making the online reservation might not have been noted properly and was asked again during our visit. 2. Ambience lights can be improved. It was quite dim and also the sitting couches could have been more comfortable. 3. The non alcoholic beverages was quite limited and made of packaged juices or soft drinks. I would expect at least to have fresh juices to be available given their plant based theme. The drink we ordered had such a bad aftertaste, felt like either it the pomegranate juice was quite old or was used from packaged boxes. Another drink we ordered was just given to us a empty glass with lime and can of soda. Not even served in the glass. So we had just returned it back. The staff and service was nice. We had a good experience

Yerba is a high end restaurant at a mid-tier price with a relaxed vibe. The open kitchen let’s you see how the chefs prepare the amazing presentation and even better tasting food. The wine was perfectly paired with each dish, and the entire staff is super nice and so knowledgeable about the food and wine. Yerba is a must try!

Yelp
Upon an interesting and hectic pandemic relocation, I found myself trying to figure out what to do to celebrate my birthday in a new country. A friend recommended Yerba and I made a reservation. As a lactose intolerant person, if the restaurant is vegan then I know for sure that I can have dessert! The vibe is simple, cozy, minimalist, and peaceful. My server had a lovely, positive attitude and she was very knowledgeable about the menu. The main issue is narrowing down what to order, because *everything* looks stellar. Chef Walter is very involved in the dining experience from start to finish. Not only is he behind the pass at times, but he also makes sure to come out and explain dishes personally to customers. As a newcomer to the Netherlands, I was thrilled to have him talk to me about where the tomatoes are grown, for example. I can taste the care that Chef puts into the texture and creativity of each dish. I chose to have a 5 course tasting with one wine pairing. But the course that blew my mind was dessert- I am normally a chocolate fiend, but my server convinced me that the blueberry ice cream would be mind-blowing. And, yes, she was right- the blueberry ice cream dessert was unthinkably good, and I couldn't believe that he was able to coax aubergine into a dessert with such finesse. One tip for visitors who may not be used to this difference- make sure to ask for tap water (not still water). I wasn't aware that I'd be charged 6 euros for water, I told my server that it was a misunderstanding and I just wanted tap water but she didn't correct it. Thank you, Chef- I'll be back.

Yelp
Yerba has become a must visit place for trips to Amsterdam. Always great food - every course is creative, flavourful and delicious. Great place to enjoy with friends too

Yelp
Best vegetarian restaurant I've even been to. Amazing - fresh / farm to table, and excellent drinks as well!

Yelp
I don't often feel the urge to write reviews and for this place, I probably lack the sophistication to do it justice, but I do want to say this was a great dining experience. I'm a vegan so I have to look around for places ahead of time. This place popped up with very few reviews but all of them were enthusiastic so I made the twenty minute drive from my distant rented houseboat. I didn't realize it was going to be on the pricey side. Usually, I'm reluctant to spend much but today's exceptional meal was worth splurging for. The chef was visible preparing the food and it was fun to see such a craft in action. He was also involved in serving it to us and told us about our dishes. The info was beyond my basic knowledge but the taste of everything was truly remarkable. If you're going to indulge yourself in Amsterdam, make it here. I'll be back on this visit. I

Yelp
An incredible dining experience!! From the fine dining ambience, attentive and educated servers and staff, to the most delicious and most intricately created food - this restaurant is a MUST TRY in Amsterdam. Chef Walters cuisine is sooo unique you won't be able to find any food like it in the world! I had the four course and each one was full of amazing flavors. I can promise if you are Vegan, Vegetarian or a Carnivore if go to the restaurant you will not be disappointed in anyway! If it were up to me, I would give this restaurant a Michelin Star.

Yelp
Yerba is a real culinary experience. The ingredients, flavours, and plating will constantly surprise you, as they use the most seasonal and local options they can, even in the winter. Yerba is perfect for a nice dinner for vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores -- the dishes are mainly about the veggies (which I love) but meat, fish, and dairy are optional for no extra cost. The dessert (all vegan) was exceptional! Try the caramel cake. Can't forget about the owners! The husband and wife pair know what they're doing and are extremely welcoming. Try Yerba if you like exciting food and want to relax and enjoy for a while.

Yelp
My wife and I arrived in Amsterdam for a long weekend and were interested in finding a restaurant that served vegan and vegetarian food since we had Re Rocha fed our diet. The challenge we had is that we also wanted to find a restaurant would challenge our palate and make us feel special since we just traveled over 3000 miles! We did a little research and found YERBA, an absolutely phenomenal restaurant. The chef and owner had previously had restaurants in New Zealand and his passion is using fresh vegetables and creating unusual creations that not only excited our palates but led to in-depth conversations with our wAitress, who turned out to be the owner's wife! While Yerba features vegetarian, gluten free and vegan dishes, they will also add meat and fish to dishes for additional protein. We added smoked cod to an unbelievable dish that combined fermented kohlrabi, celeriac, beer mustard, leek and dukkah ! Everything we ate was awesome and whether you live in Amsterdam or are planning to trip from as far away as the USA, you have to explore this one of a kind restaurant!

Yelp
This is an amazing restaurant! It serves the best vegan food that I have ever had in Europe. The flavors are subtle and exquisite. I will be back....

Yelp
Amazing food and experience! The owners are so nice and the chef genuinely cares that you enjoy he food. My boyfriend and I have been vegan for 3 years and we wanted to find a fine dining vegan experience while we were visiting Amsterdam. We came across Yerba by accident online during a search, and we thought it looked great. It exceeded our expectations! The food was BEAUTIFUL as well as tasty and the flavors were so creative. This restaurant really does showcase that vegan food is beautiful and delicious and you're not missing a thing. If anything, you're gaining. And even though vegan food I think is wonderful on its own, they cater to people who would not otherwise go to Yerba and add a few animal protein options. Even though I absolutely do NOT think you need it, I do understand why they have the options there to get more people to just come in and check it out. We got the 6 course chef's tasting where he surprised us and they were all spectacular. We were surprised to learn that Yerba was very new and only opened 3 months ago. I truly hope more people find out about Yerba because the staff is wonderful and the food is exquisite and gorgeous!
