The Best East Bay Sports Bars in Oakland, Berkeley, and More | Eater SF

"We can safely say that Yeti is the only spot in the East Bay that offers a classic sports bar vibe with top-notch Himalayan food. That means chicken momo dumplings or Nepalese pineapple fried rice to go along with drinks in a room wrapped in TVs. There are also burgers, can’t-miss butterfly shrimp, wings, and garlic Yeti fries for the less adventurous eaters in this wholly unique sports bar environment." - Adrian Spinelli

Google
Yeti Sports bar a wonderful community bar and restaurant. I frequent there all the time on my bike or car. The owner is very personable ad big in the community. Yetti fills a great role in the area. It's a creativevplacecalso, lots of karaoke an other activities. Its is my favorite third spot.

Google
Very cool sports bar. High ceilings, a lot of TVs, cool lights. I had asked about a beer on draft, and the bartender couldn’t tell me anything more about the beer other than that it was on draft, that was unfortunate. so I guess research your beers before you order. Also the people who come here for karaoke are VERY GOOD so if you’re into that, you’ll be super pleased. I’m pretty sure some of them are professional singers?

Delicious food!! Came here to see a Warriors game and they are a very friendly staff here. Try the Yeti fries they are amazing 👏 We loved our Bartender! She's sweet and accommodated our wants and needs. I will definitely come back soon!

Stopped by from Idaho. I was not sure if it would be a good choice but wow right off the freeway safe location and bartender so friendly. Best cocktail in Berkeley! Love the local beers! Will see you again Roxie!!

Google
Yeti is definitely a great local bar... Food is good... service is great... atmosphere is warm and inviting. They have Karaoke every Wednesday and Friday...so much fun. They also have 24 beers on tap with more to come. Don't take my word for it! Please stop in, and see for yourself.

Google
Great place to hangout!!! The bar has plenty of selections on the drinks menu, and the food was simply amazing! I really enjoyed the unique fries and the fried rice. I would definitely go there again.

Google
My new favorite sports bar is at Yeti! 10/10 would recommend. Wonderful experience thanks to Eddie, he's an amazing host and we were so happy that we got the experience at Yeti. There's lots of seating inside and a huge bar area with lots of big screen tvs. Great food, great drink and a great time! Definitely will be coming here again to try the other menu items.

Yelp
Apparently politics matter more than sports at this " sports bar" This was my first and last time at this bar. The staff was friendly. I sat down with my partner and had a beer to watch the warriors game. There was a man in the background with his red rhinestone MAGA hat and laptop streaming the state of the union with his obviously favorite orange clown, volume way up for no real reason. Although I was insulted, I chalked it up to whatever he's a regular, until the game was over and it was overlooked by the manger (or maybe owner)? Then all the sound in the bar was overtaken by the continuation of state of the union, as if there were no other games left to watch. I requested to watch more sports, which they obliged for 15 min before lowering the sound to accommodate the state of the union. This place will never see another dollar of mine. It's obvious they are making a statement, or if they aren't, they do not understand the city they are in. This is a trump loving bar and if they are not that is the image they are portraying.

Yelp
I drive by this place a lot and finally had a chance to stop by. We came to watch the Warriors game. The good - there are so many TVs, staff is super friendly, they have a pool table, and later after the game we enjoyed karaoke. No one was there after the game so we tested out our singing skills. Big bar and a lot of space indoors including a couple of couches. The Ok - the mixed drinks and tap beer were not so good. My friends ordered the same beer and it looked different. One was cloudy and the other not and it tasted different. The cocktails didn't quite test right, maybe the mixer? Not sure. Anyways, I'd stick to canned drinks and beer. The food was ok - we had momos, wings and tater tots.

Yelp
Came on a Saturday evening the weekend before Christmas. Not many customers from 7-9 Restrooms look clean but don't smell clean because it's a bathroom for either men or women. I'm unsure of the price because the guy I met up with paid. I think he did say that it wasn't that bad. We had 4 different drinks Henny and coke, Long Island (which the new bartender did not even know how to make, pretty popular drink to not know) so I would say know what's in your drink so u can tell them since they probably won't know it. I believe it's even on their menu. I had a lemon drop and a margarita she suggested. She put tajin instead of salt, it was only ok...would have been better the regular way with salt. Street parking near other places to eat and drink Probably will never return

Yelp
Yeti is a great place for a good hang. Football and hoops watching are really fun here because of the plentiful screens, good taps and cool bartender. When the Warriors are in playoff mode, I especially appreciate this spot with so much seating and good fans. The W's didn't make it last year. But it's still a good hangout for all playoff action. The menu has the coolest kind of split personality. Half Himalayan restaurant, half sports bar menu. Momos are the best thing I've found. The wings are my #2. Plus, the fish and chips ($14) and the burgers are better than most you'll find at a sports bar. With the new mega beer wall flowing, Yeti now has 40 taps with an incredible selection of IPAs and lagers, pilsners, blonde/golden ales, a bunch of lagers and three wheat beers even ($9). Local IPAs from all your favorites. Drake's and East Brother are well represented on the menu. The Denogginizer is my go-to brew. The Fort Point Kolsch is so good. They even have a Kona from Hawaii and the Spaten Dunkle from Munich! Modelo and Trumer Pilsner are solid options and the tequila and whiskey collections are surprisingly impressive. The owner is a really cool guy. So are most of the fans I've chatted with at the bar. Berkeley and Oakland seem to blend well at this DMZ spot.

Yelp
A fun neighborhood joint! There are multiple screens over the bar if you're keeping up with local sports. It was karaoke night when I went in, and I believe they're expanding it to more days during the week! It's a casual spot, so the food and beverage menu reflects that. I got some Yeti fries and fried Chicken Momos, as well as a Grapefruit Hibiscus hard kombucha which was very good. The portions were generous - I could have easily shared what I got with another fully grown adult. Service at the bar was good. They also have a robot come out to deliver your food, which is really cute. This would be a good casual place to catch up with friends over drinks in the neighborhood. Very much a Himalayan sports bar.

Yelp
Everything was delicious! I will definitely be coming back. We watched the Warriors game here and had the yummy Yeti fries. The bartender was very friendly, and there were a lot of large TV screens to catch all the games. Can't wait to come back and try the other menu items!

Yelp
Good vibes, great food and prompt service with a friendly staff. We came here to watch a Warriors game last week and the crowd was fun! It was lively and good energy. The food came out on a Robot, totally convenient & fast. I was with a group of people. We will be back for the next Warriors game!
google avatar

Yelp
I had the best time ever at this bar!! I met a few friends here for karaoke night. Friday night and it was good vibes. The food came out so quick on the robot, which was perfect because we were so hungry! The owner is very friendly and bartenders are great. We are coming back soon and those yeti fries are a must try....so Delicious.

Yelp
Date: 6/18/2023 Time: 4:15 PM 70° Sunny My girlfriend and I are at the Berkeley Juneteenth celebration on Adeline Street, about two blocks from the Ashby BART station. We got hungry and were looking for some place to dine. We didn't want food from the street vendors. We happened to see Yeti's, which used to be a Bank if America branch many years ago. The service was slow, as there were only the bartender and a bus boy serving the customers. I told my girlfriend I was hangry...just kidding being angry and hungry. Perusing the menu, we decided on their classic charbroiled cheeseburger with yeti fries. That cheeseburger hit the spot. I must say it had everything thing I wanted in a cheeseburger - slaw, thick burger patty, melted cheese, tomatoes, sliced dill pickles and mayo. The yeti fries were amazing. Well-seasoned and absolutely delicious. Since they did not have an Arnie Palmer, I ordered a lemonade. However, I found it a bit strange that they had Long Island iced tea on the menu as a cocktail. Wherever I go for lunch or dinner, I always order an Arnie Palmer. My theory is if the "Arnie" is good, then the food is tasty and delicious. As mentioned above, that cheeseburger was bomb-diggity good. So good that if I'm in that part of the 'hood, I would get that classic with the fries again, and a side of onion rings. I believe I saw that they have happy hour from 4 PM to 6 PM, Monday through Saturday; 5 PM to 7 PM, Sunday. There was no happy hour today. They closed at 5:15 PM. Bar area, four flatscreen TV's mounted on wall and two pool tables are quite nice. Ambience is comfy and casual. Great place to hang out with friends.

Yelp
I definitely love me some Yeti's with each visit I am never disappointed the Owner and staff are absolutely amazing.Eddy is a dedicated Owner who goes above and beyond for each person who comes to his establishment and Yeti's would be nothing without Scarlett who is a sweet Angel and knows her business and sees that everything runs smoothly... Thank you Yeti's for a great place we're it is filled with laughter and great people. Can't wait for another visit I definitely recommend this Spot

Yelp
I love this place and wish it was in my neighborhood. A friend and I went there to watch the Warriors recently. The food was good and reasonably priced. The service was excellent. They schedule fun things like anti-valentine's day where you sing sad love songs, off-key, while wearing black. They've been open for about three years, so are still relatively new and have so far survived the tail end of the pandemic. If you live near Ashby Bart, you're lucky to have Yeti in your hood. Lucky you.
google avatar

Xander C.

Yelp
Place was cool but they are pretty cheap with soda refills. You buy a soda for 3.50 and you get one 1 refill.... great TVs
google avatar

Jeff P.

Yelp
Love this place! I've been here multiple times and absolutely love it! I'm a regular and local the people are kind and friendly. I will be here for football because it's the best in Berkeley! I love that it's a middle spot between Berkeley and Oakland. The food is delicious also. Burger & yeti fries are my go to and so good. Great vibes always here. Can't wait for the next football game.
google avatar

Yelp
The staff is great. My friend and I came to watch the 49ers game & it was packed! Not a seat in the house, but they found a spot for us close to the bar. I got the yeti fries & cheese burger. The fries were so crispy and tasty. Order the Garlic or yeti fries and thank me later! Lol We will def come back! We will def be coming back!

Yelp
Stopped in here on a solo dolo since my kids had an event they were at and my hubby was bussy so it left me with nothing to do and I needed to stick around the area until my kids got done with their event #momuber I've herd good things about this place so I decided to me for a few minutes It was a quiet Friday night here today. Sat at the bar. The bar tender helped me right away. Ordered me some mozzarella sticks and a house margarita. The margarita was so refreshing you can definitely taste the freshness and my mozzarella sticks were crispy hot and gooey in all the right places Glad I stopped in on my brief excursion with myself

hari m.

Yelp
It's a good venue to watch sports. Lots of tvs, good home town sports vibe. Service was good. They also have a lot of good beers on tap. Where they need help is the food. They can't make french fries, and the Nepalese food is not restaurant quality. Beers are also quite pricy at $10 for a Fieldwork single stout and $9 for a hazy IPA. They do have a cute robot. The pints are actually pints, which these days you can't assume.
google avatar

Ray B.

Yelp
Himalayan Food & Huddles - an odd combination, but it works! There are dishes you don't typically find in a sports bar as well as your your favorite sports grub. Both food and service were great and the seating was obviously setup by a person that knows and loves sports. Large TVs and a dark room sets the mood just right to watch your favorite games. Looks like this place is relatively new - I hope they stick around for a while. BB

Jasmine W.

Yelp
Was searching for a late night beer and fries with a friend and stumbled upon this place. Awesome beer selection on tap. Fries were amazing, unique shape, super crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It's like steak fries meet curly fries, idk but get them! Pics are after I ate a few. Good portion cus they are thiccc was able to share with my friend. Staff was friendly and warm, very down to earth vibes! There was a vibey crowd dancing and singing karaoke. Very free and nonjudgmental space to let loose, have a drink, eat, be a little silly and have fun. Will be back with friends and excited to try more of the food (:

Yelp
Do not expect a good time on Football Sunday! Showed up at 10 am to get a prime spot to watch the games. That's there posted opening time. I think everyone called in sick or something. No cooks, no bartenders, no service! Couldn't even put the game on, they didn't have the channels!

Yelp
5-26-2022 6pm I'm alwayz looking for place with good food, good people, with a good vibe...YETI Sports Bar & Restaurant is a place to stop by fam. This place is new, just 5 weeks with the doors open. Yelp
The best , love the food and the atmosphere is great as well. The owners and staff are always friendly, and one of the only places I have seen that has a robot waiter lol. Love it
google avatar

Lionel C.

Yelp
So I checked their website. It said they open until 10 PM on Sunday. I call to double-check what time their kitchen closes. They said 9 PM. Ok, I've got some time to do some grocery shopping. I finish and get there at 8:30 PM. But they've decided to close early! Way early. Another establishment that clearly values their own convenience over their customers. Yeah, maybe there was a lull that night. But some people come later because you posted as closing later and you told me your kitchen was open til 9! Honor your word!

Yelp
Pretty cool local spot. Lots of TVs which is perfect for a sporting event. Some interesting guests during the 49ers Divisional Game... One lady was literally vaping inside, butt hurt Cowboys fan trying to prove his masculinity. You know how it goes with football crowds. As for the place, they handled the large crowd pretty well. They were a bit unorganized but what bar isn't? The draught beer was 7 bucks, so pretty standard. I found it funny that their glassware for cocktails had "Live Laugh Love" on it. Would definitely replace those... Didn't try the food but the prices were a bit much for appetizers. Around 8 or 9 bucks for fries which is on the high end. But their burgers were reasonably priced.

Yelp
My second time at Yeti and had a wonderful experience on both occasions. Yeti is in a good location (corner spot with parking), has several TVs to watch a game (not like the other sports bars in Berkeley we visited, and is spacious. Definitely perfect for large groups. Good vibe and very friendly staff. If you want to try something different from the traditional sports bar food, come here and give this place a chance! I personally like trying something out of the norm and found their Himalayan cuisine delicious. Please note... this place is fairly new. Not a lot of staff, but they try very hard to serve you the best they can and get your orders out right away. One other thing that stands out for me when I go somewhere is the restrooms... I know, not the typical review to share. However, Yeti's restrooms were spacious and clean. I've been to other restaurants where the dining area is great, but their restrooms are just horrible. I also love how they support local breweries. Got to try Oakland United Beer and was pleased. Win-win if you like to support local businesses as I do. If you'd like to do the same, check them out!

Yelp
My new favorite sports bar at Yeti. 10/10 would recommend!! Wonderful experience thanks to Eddies! He is an amazing bartender and host and we were so happy that we got the experience at Yeti. There's lots of seating inside and a huge bar area with lots of big screen tvs. Great food, great drink and a great time! Definitely will be coming here again to try the other menu items.

Yelp
A pretty solid place for beer and wings. I'd come back again. These are the other characters I need for yelp to accept my review.
google avatar

Angelica M.

Yelp
Solid local neighborhood joint. Just piped up on the scene early April. The bar tenders were super nice. They were honest about being new and working through the kinks. However we hardly noticed. Our server was super kind, quick and friendly. We sat our selves and ordered a random variety of stuff. A side car, lemon drop, fish and chips, momo dumplings and a salad. Nothing was super stand out but for a local neighborhood spot definitely worth the stop. Super glad out next door discovered it and shared it with us. My hubby said the fish and chips are where it's at so you should try this local spot.

Carlos B.

Yelp
This place rock's Friday night! Karaoke is quality. Nice people- - get your beers in a bottle
google avatar

Cam L.

Yelp
This place is aight. A wide variety of drink choices and some cool bar food...but youll be waiting for awhile. And the happy hour is kind of whack-- $1 off beers only. Pass. I'd come back but I'm not running back, and cautiously recommending to others.

Vanessa J.

Yelp
I went to this place Sunday did not like how the server brought my beer to me holding the part of the glass you drink out of with no serving tray at all and then I wasn't comfortable so I CX my order and asked for my bill I was charged $15 over what I agreed to pay!!!

Samyam P.

Yelp
Best place in Berkeley to watch games and hangout. Loved their Yeti fries, wings and chicken fried rice. Was very much impressed with their service as well. Definitely coming back! Highly recommended!!

Charles W.

Yelp
Good vibes. Pretty good fries and burgers. Not mind blowing, but a good spot to stop and grab a drink and some grub. Friendly people.
google avatar

Anthony A.

Yelp
Eddy was awesome. Great guy. Nice atmosphere, good vibe. We really had a great time there. Definitely would come back again.
google avatar

Elsa A.

Yelp
TL;DR: If you like spicy, try the choila, but honestly, even if you don't try it anyways! And yeti fries is fantastic! Yeti bar was a happy accident. We were in the area when Argentina was playing Netherlands. We stopped by the bar for that. What was meant to be a quick stop ended up being a full blown fantastic lunch of chicken momo and choila complete with scrumptious yeti fries! Service was fast and portions was generous! Definitely give it a try: come for a game and stay for the meal!
google avatar

Justin E.

Yelp
This place is vibe! The setup and aesthetics made my friends and I want to go in and have some drinks! Eddie greeted us and immediately got our drinks and welcomed us to start with some appetizers as we told him we had dinner plans. He took pride in telling us how good the fries are and we ordered some BBQ and Thai Chili wings. I could taste the love that was made in both the wings and fries. The textures and flavors were delicious and the perfect combination. We got to know Eddie a little bit and became really fond of him and his successes while still being humble with passion for each of his businesses. I'm based out of Hawaii now but I would gladly make another visit to Yeti's Sports Bar when I visit the Bay next year to try more food, drinks and support the business. Thank you Eddie for your service! Aloha!

Rebbeca B.

Yelp
The yeti fries are the perfect shape to dip into the paneer tikka masala. Honestly if they offered tikka masala as a dip for the fries I'd choose that over the ranch it came with.

Alyssa Z.

Yelp
The garlic fries are amazing. They are slightly spiral cut with fresh minced garlic. They also have an incredible selection of draft beers, including from local breweries like Fieldwork. The momos are also bomb and had a nice spicy ginger flavor. I would come back again soon!
google avatar

Derek R.

Yelp
What a wonderful bar and restaurant Yeti is! Recently opened in vibrant Alcatraz/Adeline neighborhood, this warm and welcoming atmosphere is hosted by owner Eddie & Scarlet. Great fun with Karaoke, big screen TV's enormous drink selection and great eastern menu as well as American faves. I have been welcomed every time I come back by Eddie & Scarlet and feel very comfortable meeting my wife there. Give Yeti a try it would be great to see this friendly upstart bar make it. Bravo Yeti. Good luck!
google avatar

Troy M.

Yelp
I really like the way the bar turned out and I wish the owner the best in succeeding at this entrepreneurial endeavor. The wings and the fries are the best part of the menu in my opinion. I think his engagement with the community will help him out in the long run attracting regulars. Still needs to attract more folks from outside the immediate area and the homeless encampment next door is quite an eyesore thankfully they don't typically wander in. Bathrooms are very clean. He even washes the windows nearly every day.
google avatar

Mark A.

Yelp
We showed up for a game day. They had a very basic beer list which is blasphemous in the bay area and ran out of all of their Nepalese food before halftime. Their burgers and standard sports bar food all seemed to be out of a bag and of lower quality.
google avatar

Craig A.

Yelp
Great spot to come get a drink and watch a game. The staff are super friendly and the food is good, try the Nepali choila and the Thai chili wings. Lots of TVs and ample seating, they also take reservations.
google avatar

Eric S.

Yelp
Well I just stopped by for a little lunch and a beer. But the owner was there there and I ordered food and both was pretty amazing. He was totally helpful with all my questions and the waitress was just as friendly. I will be back very soon. Thanks again.

Jess M.

Yelp
Pros: pretty good beer selection, and open space. You can always find a seat. Maybe because it's a dive bar and dead inside, but it's nice to have space Cons: WAY over priced. Food is really subpar. They bill themselves as a gastro pub that is unique food, but it's just refridgerator food at best heated. The staff are awful. The bartender was possibly the rudest person I've ever met. She gave so much attitude, just chats with her friends and doesnt give any attention to other customers and she can't mix a drink lol. I would skip this place.
google avatar

Jessie K.

Yelp
This place is awesome, the food is great and the staff and owners are really nice folks, it's a good place to catch a game or just have a drink after work or the farmers market.
google avatar

Meggie C.

Yelp
Kind owner and staff. Eclectic menu- something for everyone! Can't wait to watch football here every Sunday. Shout out to Scarlett and Eddie. Very kind. CNt wait to come back.
google avatar

Sammy S.

Yelp
The food & drinks were on point! We came to this Sports Bar because of the high rating! It did not disappoint. My husband and I stopped in and ended up staying all night! The vibe and location was great. Very friendly staff also! We really loved the chicken momo and shrimp fried rice! It was so delicious! A definite must try! We will definitely be back!

Celeste T.

Yelp
If I could give zero stars I would!!! Horrible service. The manager literally tried to force me to eat chicken and lie and tell me it's fish. I AM PESCATARIAN, if I were to eat that I would be extremely sick! I can not believe that anyone would insult a customers intelligence in this manner. The drinks were made badly as well, there is no reason why a margarita should taste like juice and syrup ( I'm a bartender I should know). Lastly the manger himself extremely rude we watched him yell at his employees seeing that the mistake was clearly made and he proceeded to STILL come back and try and save face and money stating that it was fish, a flaky meat vs the chicken they served us that was impossible to even tear apart!! Update: The server offer to comp meals for the table (party of 3) and had us sit and wait for them only to come back and deny us the food.
google avatar

Alexandra T.

Yelp
Love this bar! I come here with my partner all the time. Staff and patrons are very friendly and the food is so good. I recommend the choila if they aren't too busy (it takes a little while to cook but sooo worth it). Chicken tikka masala and chicken momos are also on our list of go-tos. Great place to watch the game or pop in for casual dinner and drinks.

Yelp
Amazing food, new craft beers , new food menu, amazing ambiance. Pool tables . Music on demand, karaoke nights . Amazing service.
