Yangguofu Malatang Chinatown - Review - Chinatown - London - The Infatuation
"Yangguofu Malatang is a mega, two-storey restaurant in Chinatown with over 100 hot pot combos and lots of kitsch London tube signs and red bus wall art.
We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Sinéad Cranna
Perfectly customizable. There are many choices for meats, veggies, noodles, fish cakes and more. Similar to hotpot, they also include a small bow for sesame sauce, coriander, or spices of your choice. Highly recommend!

Absolutely amazing experience at YGF Yangguofu Malatang Chinatown. The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. I loved being able to choose my own ingredients, and everything tasted delicious. The broth was rich and comforting, and the portion size was generous. Great atmosphere and friendly staff too. I will definitely come back again.

Another malatang chain but this is one of the bigger ones.
I suppose I prefer this over the other ones I have tried but the only problem is the food is too spicy.
The format is good because you are given a ticket which is scanned when you are ready to pay and send your ingredients to the kitchen.
After you have paid, they allocate you a table with a number where they bring the food over.
Food takes a good 20 minutes if they are busy.
Overall, it was good but the sweetcorn looked weird!
Very convenient if you are dining alone as it saves you looking for a seat and having to collect it.
On one visit, I was not happy with the seating arrangement on a non busy day because they grouped people together when there were many free tables.
However, I do find this place inconsistent having visited three times.

I went there after a week or so of it opening. There were lots of choices in terms of the ingredients and I went for the classic spicy soup. The service is quite efficient and you are given a ticket on entry to confirm your seating position. It was quite a tight space to sit next to other people whilst eating quite a brothy dish so I felt a little difficult to focus on my eating. Chairs were also quite uncomfortable. The food arrived in good time and just enough time to get the sauces from the condiment bar. The soup was quite spicy but good level of heat. Whilst it’s not the top 1 soup for Malatang for my taste, I am happy to recommend for convenience and for choices.

As a picky eater, I definitely recommend this Malatang place to everyone. I tried the mushroom broth (vegan) with all the ingredients that I loved. It’s absolutely amazing! As you can see I finished the whole bowl 😂

What stands out in this place is the flavourful broth, which was such a comfort during these winter days. Sadly there weren't that many ingredient choices compared to other places, but overall the food was still very good.
While I appreciate that the staff seat you and serve your food straight to your table, the seats were a bit cramped and there was no room to place bags or hang your coats anywhere.

Ingredients are quite fresh and lots of options but they didn’t have a dry mala pot. The dry pot is sesame flavoured so feels like it’s missing something. Overall mala tang is quite expensive though in London. The bowls were £20+ which doesn’t make so much sense tbh but it is what it is.

Taste really good. £24 for bowl of ramen and a lot of fillings of my choice probably not bad. I would return but not in the near future. £4 for bottle of tea is just very pricey!
