"Yi Fang has opened a new location on SE Foster, bringing no-joke fruit tea with it. Fruit tea is often overlooked in the world of boba, mostly because it’s never quite as fresh or visually pleasing as the milk-based drinks. Yi Fang does things differently, leaning heavily on fresh fruit instead of cloying artificial sweeteners. Yi Fang also offers a variety of top-notch blended drinks, including mango or red bean smoothies with sago pearls. Yi Fang has very limited dine-in seating within its tiny space." - Seiji Nanbu

I ordered the taro milk tea, but I didn’t realize that they gave me the wrong order until I have already left. It was still good though!

I have no clue why... but this was the worst experience ever. I normally love going to this brand for tea and other drinks (in other locations), but this location just gave me the worst boba experience in anywhere I have been to in the entire world. This time, We ordered the lychee green tea and taro with fresh milk. The tea was brewed to have very bitter taste, which is super gross. Then the taro was not cooked fully and they just blended it into small pieces so it was pretty much lots of uncooked taro all over the place. Taro is supposed to be soft enough so it can blend well with the milk. Next, the drink itself is like super sweet syrup when I only ordered 30% sweet... like what the heck?! ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. To be honest, I am not sure if this was one of the off days where the workers there just wasn't trained well, or what... but this is seriously super disappointing knowing it is a Yi Fang store. I think even a drink from quickly was better quality than what I got from this place.

On my way to Radiator Springs, I stopped by Yi Fang Taiwan Fruit Tea and ordered a hot oolong soy milk tea with boba pearls. It was so good I had to go and order one for Sally. If your vegan, there are several options to choose from on the menu. ✨🚗 • Follow us on Instagram @__tinycars

I went today and I was greeted by a tablet (you order yourself) I first ordered a matcha drink and a mango pomelo the mango pomelo was very very tasty and fresh but the matcha was so overpowering it tasted fishy I had to return it. They use real ingredients and maybe I’m not used to that because I have never tasted matcha like that in the past in other places. The lady was very sweet and made me a taro drink. It was very delicious and also tasted much different than other places I’ve visited, but that’s okay! I love that they use ReaI ingredients and I appreciate the sweet lady making me a new one because I don’t like returning items but now I know I don’t like real matcha lol.

Google
The service here is the best! I always get the matcha boba with my sister and my brother gets the mango sago or mango snow top. All the drinks here look good and taste the best!

Let me preface this by saying I've had lots of boba in Taiwan (where boba originated), all over LA, Seattle, and Portland. I drink boba at least 3 times a week. I’ve been to a few different Yifangs in Seattle and now Portland. They’ve all been consistent, especially their fruit teas. My go-to is their signature YiFang Fruit Tea, with boba, 70%. I love that they have real fruits in a lot of their drinks. Their sugar levels are not exaggerated or vise versa, so 70% and 50% sugar do taste like their appropriate sweetness levels. Boba is always a great texture and sweet enough. They use mini boba, which is a little smaller than at other places. I got Grapefruit Lemon Tea 70% sweet with boba today. The little grapefruit pulp pieces were so yummy😍 My only complaint is that they took 25 minutes to get my boba. I hope they’ll be able to streamline their process to get orders out in time.

Very nice dining tables with music, and friendly staff! Such a cool atmosphere and experience to see the variety of teas and lots on the menu!

We found this spot by accident but truly so glad we did. Highly recommend. The mango pomelo sago. Delicious 😋. The pineapple green tea with pearls is also good. 👌🏽

Corine W.

Yelp
We had amazing treats. The mango drink was chunky and amazing and the hibiscus one was very refreshing. Will go back! Very clean and quick service.

Quang L.

Yelp
The mango sago is consistently the best drink here. Unfortunately, after trying various others, it is also one of the only good drinks here. The custard flavor Yifang egg pancake is a solid snack whilst the pearl and plain ones don't have enough flavor. Self-order and drinks are made promptly. The establishment itself is small with only 3-4 tables and bar stools, but it is never full. Parking here is the downside, and it can get tricky to exit the lot with the busy intersection.

Yelp
Yi Fang Taiwan Fruit Tea is named after the founder's grandmother, who made fresh fruit teas for her husband who was working long hot days on their pineapple farm. She inspired the store's mission of using natural ingredients and serving drinks with love. They've got seven locations across the PNW, including this one off SE Foster. It's got a small parking lot near other busy businesses. Their menu is quite extensive. They actually have the option for you to order off of a computer screen right at the cashier, which I like as it allows me to take my time selecting my choices. You can also use this system to order ahead. It will text you when they start making your drink and then again when it is ready. The store is pretty cute, not a bad place to spend time waiting for your drink, or to hang out and enjoy it. They've got more seating than I'd expect for how small the store is, even a couple chairs out front. They also have free wifi. I got the brown sugar boba drink and a passion fruit tea. I really enjoyed both! They were just what I wanted. Prices were reasonable and in line with other drinks of this style. Will be back here!

Yelp
It's been a few years since I've written a review here, but I have been here a couple times since. To date, my favorite drink has to be their mango pomelo sago. It's my go to here, a little spendy but highly recommend it. However, this time their sago was undercooked (which is why it lost a star for rating). They also have taiyaki in the shape of a boba drink with various fillings to choose from. The taiyaki were made fresh to order and it was delicious.

Keely N.

Yelp
2nd time at this location and I absolutely adore the flavors. Lowkey upset by the wait today because there were three employees, but it literally took them more than 10 minutes to make a drink... but still think this place deserves more attention! it's very delicious and true to natural tastes and flavors.

Wei C.

Yelp
10/10 for their mango sago and yi fang custard pancakes. The mango sago is perfectly sweet and the tapioca was not chewy at all. The yi fang pancakes came out hot, soft and delicious! I can't wait to come back for more mango sago and to try their other flavors of pancakes! So happy I found a place with a mango sago drink!

Jeremiah M.

Yelp
Another standard boba spot in Portland specialising in Fruit Teas. Drinks are usually good and there's nothing completely negative to comment on. Only downside is that the space is small with minimal seating, but it is a good place to stop by for a quick drink.

Stephen K.

Yelp
Yi Fang is FANTASTIC! You'll find all manner of fruit beverages here that you won't find anywhere else. The Mango / Pomelo was just amazing. SO much flavor and lots of real fruit! I also absolutely love the two varieties of "beverage with a straw in it" of custard cakes...both are delicious. Service is prompt and friendly, prices are really low, and portion sizes are big. The only item I wish they had were full-sized boba pearls. The only pearls offered here are of the miniature variety, and I just don't care for these too much.

Darren Y.

Yelp
Located at the corner of 82nd and foster this is an awesome milk tea place - tho the thing to get is their fruit tea. You can order on their touch screen or in person. I like their pineapple yaukult green tea. It has chunks of pineapple and is sweet / tangy and creamy. Lots of Asians coming here so gotta be aurhent

Yelp
The first Yi Fang location in Washington square always had long lines, which deterred me from going. I was so excited when I saw that a second location will be opening up in SE Portland! With Covid going on, I forgot that this second location existed for the longest time. I stopped by with a friend on a hot summer day, which turned out to be the perfect spot to visit! I ordered the Grapefruit Lemon Fruit Tea with 50% sugar and it was the perfect sweetness level! All of the drinks that I had at the Washington square location was always too sweet when I ordered 50%. I am glad this location is actually 50% sweetness when I ask for that adjustment. The interior is super clean and cute! They have a few tables inside and outside for customer's preference. There's also a restroom at the back of the store if needed! This Yi Fang is at a great location with great drinks! Don't forget to check-in on Yelp for 20% off your drink!

Linh T.

Yelp
Everytime I go to Yi Fang, it never disappoint. I've tried many of their flavors and its been delightful. Their egg pancakes aren't bad either. Tip: Do a "self order" at the counter. By placing your own order, you can participate in the rewards program. This is the only way to earn points every time you order any drinks from Yi Fang (at this time).

Jenny Y.

Yelp
Hidden. Super hidden in the plaza. I wanted to get something to drink with a friend. Needed a sit-in, hangout place where we can chat for a while. Boom! Found it. Totally forgot YiFang opened one up near me. You will miss it if you are not looking for it since it is located in the center of the plaza and their signs are easy to miss. Outside of the place looks plain Jane, nothing special. Once you walk in thru the doors, you can see they put effort in making it look nice and clean. Immediately greeted and were ready for us to order. I ordered the original Yifang Fruit Tea - if you check in on yelp, 20% off. Brings the total to $4.20. YES! Asked for 30% sweetness and 30% less ice - which was perfect for me. A nice cold fruit tea on a hot summer day was definitely a nice treat. We ended sitting there for a few hours and they did not kick us out. They also have two outside tables for those to want to sip outside. Service was quick, limited interaction though. Parking can be difficult at time when it is busy, spaces feel like they are for compacted cars. Beware, getting out of the lot is not fun either, unless you get lucky! Have fun!

Miki M.

Yelp
I was sad to hear the location in Washington Square closed so I'll have to come all the way here get my Yifang fix. I love their fruit teas and they usually put the right amount of sweetness in the drinks. I wanted to try something new so I got the Black Glutinous Rice Red Bean Coconut Milk and Yifang Egg Pancakes. The egg pancake was good, there wasn't too much filling though. The drink was delicious, the sweetness of the rice and red bean topping mixed well with the creaminess of the coconut milk.

Yelp
For a boba shop, I would actually give it a 5 star(because of the staff, I have to give this review a 5) Super nice, friendly and not rude at all(some boba shops can give that rude vibe)- we stumbled upon this boba shop and it was about 10 minutes before they closed. There were 2 employees and they were so nice and didn't even once mentioned that they're about to close! (We found out as we were waiting for our order and saw it on the door. The teas, I would say should be the go to choice, the milk tea is a bit on the heavy side and I had to tap out. Custard little treat was so cute and pretty good as well! Fresh is the way to go!

Bachtuyet L.

Yelp
Right when you step into the shop, you are welcomed by the pleasant scent of brewed tea. If you are expecting to be greeted by a human behind the cashier, think again. There are two self ordering kiosks and you order what you want. The tearistas are behind some curtains working their magic and busting out the drinks you just ordered. This was my first time at Yi Fang and since fruit tea is in their name, I ordered their fruit tea. I was underwhelmed by it. There was an abundance of fresh and canned fruit in the drink, it almost felt like it was more fruit than tea. I'm not sure if it is even tea. For how strong the scent of brewed tea was in the shop, I did not pick up much tea favor. It was also very sweet, I should have gone with less sugar. I got my mom the black sesame smoothie and she liked it. She enjoyed that it was thick, but not icy. It tastes like the black sesame dessert soup. It wasn't overly sweet either. They offer almond jelly, which I've never seen at any other bubble tea shops. It was a dollar for that topping and I didn't feel like it was worth it. Overall, the drinks were okay, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back for them.

Briana M.

Yelp
Came back like I said before, but this time ordered on Yelp in advance and the order took almost 45 minutes. My husband ordered an extra drink when we got there to wait and his came out first. Weird, right? They definitely needed to work on the service speed that day. The tea is still super good but with a long wait time occasionally?

Yelp
I'm so glad there's a Yi Fang in Portland. Their fruit teas are so good and refreshing after a meal or as a treat in the middle of the day. I love going here with friends and the seating inside is so cute, it's nice to hang out with friends for a bit and chat while waiting for drinks/drinking them. From my experience, most of my friends get their fruity teas/drinks rather than a milk tea because (I feel like) that's what their known for. And! Their mango sago is pretty famous too! Definitely check this place out if you're craving a refreshing fruit tea. :)

Paul K.

Yelp
Portland has received a Boba revival recently in 2022. It is amazing at the quality boba shops that are coming in. You know this is authenticious because the menu has both english and chinese options. Furthermore, the quality of the boba and milk tea are superb. In addition, it was open during Christmas, which means you know that this establishment passes the asian quality check. YES! Fantastic spot to grab some boba. Cute little spot to hang out in a smaller group. So please come and enjoy this yifang tea. I got the jasmine milk tea. Yummmmmy! This boba did not disappoint me in the midst of a boba drought since 2019. You should totally come through and grab a drink.

K. W.

Yelp
The best boba in Portland, hands down. The traditional fruit tea is the bomb. It comes packed full of sliced up fruit. You can control the ice and sugar levels for the drinks. Being an introvert, I love the option of ordering via a self-serve kiosk! I wish there were more locations in town, especially ones with better parking options.

Amy A.

Yelp
There's a recent bobasplosain in Portland in recent years and we're rich in boba shops! I try to visit each shop at least once to see if I'll come back and Yi Fang is definitely going on my to-go shop. Fresh and well made boba toppings and tea. Love their seasonal options. This winter I went in and got the seasonal hot ginger milk tea special and it didn't disappoint. Super cute inside and looking forward to being able to hang out with friends there!

Sophie L.

Yelp
The owner not very nice over price They rude and disrespect customer very very bad they 1 milk tea $8.5 way more then Starbucks

Katherine C.

Yelp
I've been wanting to stop in Yi Fang for a long time but there was usually a toddler or an infant in the back seat and the idea of taking them out and putting them back in the car was too much effort for a self-treat. That said, I finally made it in this week! I was pleasantly surprised at the wide variety of drink options and more traditional options like the ones I could order in Taiwan. I decided to go with the Yakult Passion Fruit Tea with boba this time. The tea had good flavor overall but I was disappointed by the boba. Instead of being chewy, it tasted like it was overcooked and had been cooked awhile ago so was soft and falling apart. Not enough reason to not return to try another one of the drink options but might be enough to not order boba even though it's my go-to add on.

Wendy S.

Yelp
Been to this yi fang a few times and the drinks have been good so far besides the green plum green tea (which was my favorite in Seattle). I ordered 3 drinks today and have waited almost 20 minutes? I asked about 10 mins ago how much longer our drinks were going to take and she said "10 minutes because the mountain tea is steaming right now"?? I think it's only right to let the customers know that the tea is not yet done and see if they want to wait. I would have ordered something else if I knew the tea wasn't done brewing. Mango pomelo sago, fruit tea and pineapple mountain tea with almond jelly are good here.

Jason V.

Yelp
I drove for 25 mins to come here just to try their Mango Pomelo Sago. It did not disappoint!! It was SO GOOD I was about to cum in my pants after every sip .. not an exaggeration go try it for yourself! I will definitely be back.

Jason H.

Yelp
Decoration inside is relaxing and simple! The employees that I have interacted with have all gone above and beyond to deliver quality customer service. Most importantly the drinks are also fantastic! I have ordered nearly half the menu at this point and you can tell all of the ingredients are fresh. The drinks are also made to your customizations perfectly. I am so happy Yifang opened in SE Portland! They have quickly become my go to bubble tea place in Portland. My favorite is the Mango Pomelo Sago as of now! All the other drinks I have tried have also been pretty good so I guess you can't really go wrong.

Kay L.

Yelp
So delicious. Best boba tea ever. Small space with a few tables order at the kiosk and they call your order. It's in a strip mall area too btw.

Kaylee S.

Yelp
small little shop and the parking situation isn't the greatest but the mango pomelo sago is worth it!!

John Victor M.

Yelp
Definitely stop by., mango passion is my go to,., if ur in a hurry just order online., plenty of options but they do run out of mango., yes I'd drive out for this

Katelyn M.

Yelp
Dude, i don't know if this lady knows what customer service is. I order a taro milk tea with boba and she asked if i had it, she looked like she knew i wouldn't like it. But the picture showed a beautiful purple taro milk tea and I've had that before so i said, yes, i like taro. So this lady brings me whole milk with ice, no purple taro flavoring, just taro root, milk, ice, boba. Dude come on! Like over 7 bucks for this whole milk drink that i normally love, but i don't know why this lady didn't say, this drink has actual taro root in it, very chunky like rice. But nope. She was just quiet n took my money n i tipped two dollars. My drink was not good. I'm sad. Talk to your customers! Come on

Jeremy H.

Yelp
If you want the worst boba experience you found it here!!!! Rude service on top of waiting 45 minutes for a phone order..... The boba tasted like chemicals.... Won't ever come here again.... DID I MENTION THE RUDNESS?!? So sad

David P.

Yelp
The mango sago drink was perfection and reminded me of the classic mango desserts from Hong Kong. We'll be back!

Ashley A.

Yelp
I liked the inside of the shop and the service. The drink I ordered felt pretty basic (a pudding milk tea) but I guess that's on me. Willing to try again tho.

Linda N.

Yelp
For my first time, the person who was taking my order was helpful! She suggested some popular items.

Kate A.

Yelp
Nice and friendly staffs. Reason for 4 stars is that we didn't like our drinks. Too bitter. However, the drinks were fresh . Usually I would give 2 or 3 stars if the drinks weren't good, but this time I think it's not fair to give them less than 4 stars because maybe their drinks just don't fit our liking.

Sharon Y.

Yelp
I'm not sure what happened but this used to be my go to place. Recently got a drink and while the tea was good, the boba wasn't really there. You know how boba had this sticky coating on the outside of it? Well, my drink was just full of the stick coating and not the actual boba which was super disappointing to me being that I was really looking forward to boba that day. Would not recommend.

Sim L.

Yelp
I've been here several times. Great value while they had a buy 1 get 1 1/2 off special but sadly the child labor they hire here lacks enthusiasm and efficiency to send drinks out if there's any more than 3 parties waiting for their drinks. First interaction ordering Mango Sago Smoothie with added boba, "okay it's going to take 10min, the sago will take an extra 5min because we need to make more." I understood this and accepted the additional time it would take however, the girl swapped out the sago and only put boba in the drink while I paid extra for the boba. When I asked about this, the other girl who didn't make my order made a lame excuse saying they normally can't do that because there is no extra space in the cup for additional toppings. Sure but why did you charge me extra and not provide me what I paid extra for?! Put the topping in a separate ramekin then but don't substitute. Second time I went and ordered an Oolong boba tea, the little guy lethargically tells me, "We ran out of small boba pearls, is the regular size okay?" I understood and accepted and everything was okay. Third time there I ordered an Oolong Boba tea again, the sleepy guy says "alright its going to take 15min is it okay?." Great fine no biggy except 15min elapses and during that time, another customer comes in asking how long his drinks are going to take and that he'd been waiting awhile. So after 15 minutes is up the boy comes up to me to tell me, "We ran out of Oolong milk tea, we can make you milk tea or another drink." Great it took them an entire 15 minutes to realize they didn't have what I wanted. Since he said they could make another drink and I wasn't feeling the milk teas anymore, I tell them to make a Mango Sago Smoothie, my other go-to. Now the little girl steps up and says, "oh we cannot make that one for you because it costs more." Really foolish & cheap move on their lack of customer satisfaction training when they already missed their mark on bringing out the drink I ordered on time and simply could not produce it. Flustered at this point, I'm like fine make me a boba milk tea. "Okay it's going to be 15min," says the boy and I'm like, "you said 15min, 15 minutes ago so how long is it actually going to take?! It is one thing to be told they don't have small boba pearls, or they need to make more sago but then another issue if they can't communicate with each other to work the recipes quickly to bring out drinks in a timely matter. I get there's a shortage of workers now but bringing on child labor evidently spells disaster as they're unapologetic, unwavering when mistakes are made on their part, and simply don't have the enthusiasm nor energy to pick up the pace and give the shop a happy vibe. Overall the drinks were good when made correctly and you could get one half off but if I need to pay $7.50 for a smoothie, expect to wait a long time or be told they are out of a topping or tea while waiting without the option to choose whatever on their menu to make up for it, it's not acceptable, I'll take my business elsewhere.

Charlie D.

Yelp
Was heading home from my brothers crawfish when I saw Yifang had opened up and decided to stop in. Grabbed a mango and sweet taro smoothie. Both were delicious. The space is inviting, simple and clean (love the blue tile floors). The workers were super nice and helped picked my order since I wanted to try new stuff. They were a bit backed up and let me know it would be a bit of a wait due to the rush but I was fine with it. I'm glad this is in the neighborhood and will be stopping in frequently.

Yelp
Take-out review for June 2021 Summary: Cute, trendy boba shop with a variety of fresh (I mean real milk, real taro, and real fruit) drinks and friendly staff. I would come here again! Boba: I felt like the boba pearls were too small for my preference, but they were fresh and chewy. Drinks: Green Plum- A hit or miss, depending on your preference. I did not like it because it had a hint of saltiness, understandable because it's from the fruit. Wintermelon- I loved it! Taro with milk- Real taro. Yes, not the powder kind, and fresh milk too! Delicious Drinks were served clean, not sticky or dripping with water. Staff: Friendly, very willing to help out with ordering. There were two sweet girls working that day and they had a positive attitude. Atmosphere: Cute, trendy, bright. The decor was cute. I liked how there was a touch screen display to order on so that you could look into the details of the menu and take your time. COVID Safety Measures: Staff wore masks and gloves. Store offered hand sanitizer. Social distancing enforced.

Katie M.

Yelp
First time ordering and I love the size of the pearls!!! And I really like how you can choose the sweetness of the black milk tea! Plus they are super generous with the jellies and pearls. 10/10 recommend!

Katy L.

Yelp
Delicious boba tea and other drink options in this secluded annex on the corner of Holgate and 82nd makes it a real hidden gem!

Mia S.

Yelp
This place has the best real fruit tea's in Portland. Most boba tea places use syrup. My favorite is the Green Tea Passion Fruit with Aiyu Jelly (if they have it)!

Al C.

Yelp
My favorite is black tea latte, 70% sugar, either regular ice if iced but as of now I enjoy the hot one, with pearls. The quality of service is top notch, high quality products and they don't rush-- call ahead for quicker pick up. Clean and cozy indoor space.

T W.

Yelp
I just ordered the fruit tea. I was there around 6:30pm. The girl who was preparing the fruit teas was using her bare hands to handle the fruit. I couldn't see if the guy preparing my drink was using gloves or not. Is it that hard to use gloves?

Thomas L.

Yelp
The boba is super soft and not hard at all. I definitely recommend the sea salt cream collection. Especially the green tea with boba!

Courtney C.

Yelp
Lovely interior and very clean! The drinks were great and wasn't overly sweet even at 100% sweetness level. My only criticism would be on their ticketing system. Seemed like their was some disorientation in delivering the right drinks to people. I'd suggest giving customers their receipt so they can know what number they are when called.

Maria R.

Yelp
Great refreshing drinks. We had the mango pomelo sago and fruit tea. Both were so so good. Glad we stopped by

Victoria S.

Yelp
Love having this fresh fruit tea spot nearby. The staff is really knowledgeable and friendly if you're unsure of what to get. So far so good! My favorite is the wintermelon latte with soy milk. Personally, I don't like my drinks too sweet at all and they get it just right with the flavor sweetness balance.

Carol B.

Yelp
I was craving something refreshing and cold to drink after a hike and decided to check out this location to get my fix and I'm so glad I did! I got the Yakult Pineapple Green Tea and the Strawberry Fruit Tea w/Cheese Foam. The Yakult drink brought me back to life (so delicious). The cheese foam was the perfect pairing with the strawberry tea. Get the cheese foam, it's so good!! The wait for the drinks was a bit long, but totally worth it for me. Customer service was nice and the interior is very clean. There is also a parking lot, so that's a plus! Definitely will be coming back!

Stephanie A.

Yelp
So happy that Yi Fang exists here in Portland! As a recent transplant, running into this familiar drink shop was a pleasant surprise. They use real fruit in their slushee drinks and their boba is always super soft.
