Classic Taiwanese Diner Old Country Cafe Closes After 33 Years in SGV | Eater LA

"I noticed You & Me Dining replaced Super Kingfu Master; the sit-down Taiwanese restaurant, formerly in Diamond Bar, serves Taiwanese favorites such as three cup chicken and pork intestines alongside many Pan-Chinese items." - Jim Thurman

Google
Really excited to try out this highly recommended and popular store. We focused on traditional Chinese breakfast as it's one of the few choices in town, and I think it's pretty decent. The service in the front was friendly and prompt but the service at the table and overall process can be improved. I really liked the salty rice roll, the baked breads were pretty good. The salty Oyster omelet was ok but not spectacular. Tip1. Double check the delivered items. We made a few additions, the counter lady happily added them but delivered items do not always matches our options. Tip 2: try to find a place to sit first, get the number on the table and use it to order with QR code or at the counter. The process is either you get a table, and order at the table, or you order at the counter, they give you an order number, you sit down and they deliver based on the order number. This process works well in general. The process breaks down when things are busy during weekends, since you find your own table, one time, it was frustrating to find/fight to get a table some times. Another time, we were able get a table but could get anyone to clean it up for us.

Delicious Taiwanese breakfast and pastry options including fresh soy milk, purple fan tuan/rice rolls and super flavorful radish cake with garlic sauce. I loved that they also have many frozen dumplings, sun cakes and pastries and more too grab and go. Extensive menu with many authentic Taiwanese eats! Highly recommend!

Google
Best daikon radish cake I have ever eaten in my life. It was piping hot, crispy on the outside, almost gooey on the inside. It was clean, easy to order, and pretty much everything was delicious. We also had purple rice role, salty soy milk. Would definitely go back.

Google
I love their breakfast rice plates. That Taiwanese sausage hits the spot! And the sweet tofu pudding just brings me back so many good memories from the Philippines.

Love the Taiwanese style breakfast food here! Really good quality! The staff is super friendly too!

Google
Specializing in Taiwanese breakfast and light bites, a good place to satisfy your Taiwan food fix. Plenty of free parking and friendly staff. A large dining area with several tables. Ordered the cold peanut milk drink ($3.45 regular) which was good and creamy, the salty soybean pudding ($4.50 regular), and purple rice roll ($6.75). The only letdown was the purple rice roll was super dry. Every bite sucked out your saliva and would have to take a sip of drink with each bite to get it down. Even though the roll was dry, I recommend and would return to try their other offerings!

Google
The food was greasy and not light enough. I would like to point out this bowl of salty soy milk. It didn't taste greasy at all. It was very unpalatable. The children didn't like it either, so we gave up after trying it. It was unpalatable. It was an unpleasant morning. To sum it up, the food was too greasy and the soy milk was not tasty.

Google
Yi Mei Restaurant – San Gabriel, CA ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Picked up breakfast takeout for the family from Yi Mei, and it honestly felt like we were having breakfast back in Taiwan. Everything we ordered was on point. We got the salty soybean pudding with a Chinese donut, salty rice roll with egg and sour pickle, beef sandwich with sour pickle, Chinese pancake with eggs, and a Taiwanese tamale. My personal favorites were the salty soybean pudding with the donut and the Chinese pancake with eggs. Both were full of flavor and had that comforting, familiar taste we were hoping for. Their garlic sauce and chili sauce are also worth mentioning. They go with everything and really bring out the best in each dish. If you’re in the mood for traditional Taiwanese breakfast or just want something warm and satisfying in the morning, Yi Mei is a great option. Fast, flavorful, and full of nostalgia.

Yelp
Parking is tough, there's a small lot shared with apartment people, a cafe / bar + daycare, and some postpartum care place. You can tell Yi Mei used to be a barbeque place, with all the vents above each table! We went on a weekend morning, the place was about halfway full. We did not have to wait. I really liked the turnip cake. It's not too oily and you can really taste the turnip. The rice roll was solid too. I like that the youtiao in it wasn't too hard and in my face while chewing. I also like that they cut it for you lol. The servings were pleasantly big for the price. Unfortunately we didn't try a lot of items, but I am going back to try others to update my review.

Yelp
Good Taiwanese breakfast option on a budget! Salted rice roll 10/10 A savory and salty taste with pork floss, pickled radish, and Chinese donut. Highly recommend getting the crispy option for the texture. Good equal portion of filling to rice ratio. Daikon cake 8/10 Crispy and comforting and it's not too bland. Best with the garlic sauce that they have at the self serve area. Salty soy milk 8/10 This is a savory dish with salted soy milk and Chinese donut. The pork floss adds more texture and saltiness which is really yummy altogether. Pig ears 7/10 These are good and the portion is okay. The marinate is nice , not too salty nor sweet but def needing some spicy sauce. Quick service and lots of seating for friends and family. There's a shop in the front where you can purchase individual items. Small shared parking lot with other businesses.

Yelp
Context: We came with a group of 7 on a Sunday for lunch. We arrived around 11:30am and were able to get seated right away! Stewed Pork Rice - 4/5 - The rice is soft and fluffy! The meat had a good amount of fattiness and decent flavor, but I would have liked for the meat to be even more flavorful. The cabbage and carrot were steamed well and weren't mushy, helping me feel at least a little bit healthy. The pickled cucumber was nicely sour to balance the fairness of the meat. Personally, I would have liked for the cucumber to be spicier but really liked them nonetheless. Cold Soybean Milk (Sweet) - 5/5 - Perfectly chilled, pleasant and present soybean flavor without being over bearing, and literally the perfect amount of sweetness! Taiwanese Tamale - 4/5 - The sticky rice is well spiced and fragrant! There were only a few pieces of meat that were a bit on the fattier side, but that also helped keep the dish from being too dry! Chinese Donut - 4/5 - exactly as expected! nice and chewy, ever so slightly on the oily side but definitely one of the better Chinese donuts we have tried. Pairs super well with the cold sweetened soy milk. Green Onion Pancake - 4/5 - really good, crispy outside and chewy inside, good amount of green onions. But like the Chinese donut, slightly on the oily side. Overall, really great Taiwanese breakfast spot. The food came out pretty quickly, especially the stewed pork rice and soy milk.

Yelp
Parents come here all the time to get their Taiwanese breakfast fix. Rice roll / fan tuan (4/5): fried dough inside not that crispy and rice on the outside is staler than my liking. Flavor is good though. Pork belly sandwich / gua bao (5/5): this was SO GOOD. The bun was nice and soft. The pork belly was tender and well seasoned. Matched with the sour n' sweet pickles and the crunchy peanuts made it a perfect bite each time. Would go back for this. Beef sandwich / niu ro juan bing (4/5): filled with lots of beef slices. Good balance of pickles vegetables. Soy milk / dou jang (4.5/5): standard soy milk. Can adjust by adding sugar or salt if you'd like. Curry pastry & radish pastry (4/5): not bad good flavors. Egg omelette / dan bing (4/5): not bad - maybe better fresh when still crispy. Parking was easy - just out in front. Service was quick - we called ahead of time and places an order.

Yelp
Yi Mei is a decent place to go for a Taiwanese breakfast. You walk on, you might get seated by the cashier on front, but other than that, everything is self searching. You may order through your smartphone, or you may also use a tablet in the front as you walk in. You sit on your table, scan the barcode and start ordering whatever you like on their menu. I enjoy eating their fantuan, which is a wrapped roll of rice with a fried egg, a youtheo (fried Chinese donut), dried pork floss, and whatever else you would like inside the fantuan. A note that the Chinese donut is not sweet... but it's delicious when you eat it with a fantuan or with porridge. Other stuff we've tried are the turnip cake, tea eggs, chicken and/ or pork steak with rice with preserved vegetables, minced pork with rice with preserved vegetables, and their soybean milk both warm and cold. Everything tastes good as the food here is flavorful as it's cooked fresh after ordering. These few food line items listed are usually our go-to order items. But imo, I prefer chicken over pork, and cold soybean milk over the hot one. Their beef noodles seems good as quite a few people ordered it. It just seems a bit too heavy for breakfast even though it's a soup order. But we plan to try it soon. Lol. I like Yi Mei for breakfast. It fulfills my Taiwanese food cravings every time. They open early and close late in the afternoon. It gets quite busy at times. You may park on the front lot, or drive downstairs in the parking structure. One question I can't seem to answer myself is, do we tip? Everything is pretty much self service except for a server bringing you the food. What's your thoughts?

Yelp
Great place to stop by if you are craving Taiwanese breakfast. My wife and I splurged a little bit because we don't have a restaurant like this back home. Ended up getting the green onion pancake, daikon cake, beef roll and sticky rice roll with sausage. All of the dishes were great, the highlight for me was the sticky rice roll, it was really well made, authentic, and delicious. Wasn't expecting that much from the beef roll but surprisingly it was also one of the better dishes we had. They packed a lot of beef in there! Restaurant is located in a small plaza and was really nice and clean. Plenty of indoor seating space available and good service as well!

Yelp
Such a good spot for traditional Taiwanese breakfast. Portions are huge and shareable. Salty rice roll is my go to! Soy milk so tasty and a classic. Also rec the green onion pancake--perfectly crisp and not too greasy. XLBs are okay to go without--have had better elsewhere. Enjoyed the cabbage and pork dumplings though! Service is quick and efficient. Beef rolls are also really good with great flavor--expect lots of beef in the roll! Overall pretty well priced. Ambiance with ample seating (may have a short wait if it's a busy time!). Clean, bright space. Appreciate the ample sauces at the sauce station.

Yelp
Great place to check out if you are craving authentic Taiwanese breakfast. We ordered the Salty Soy Milk (size L), Purple Rice Roll (+Green Onion Egg), Chinese Donut, Sesame Flatbread, Beef Roll, Oyster Pancake, and Soy + Peanut Milk. The Salty Soy Milk was savory and curdled (like tofu bits) with green onion and pork floss. Purple Rice had a nice sticky texture and would recommend paying extra to add the egg. Unfortunately, there was barely any green onion so would not pay extra for "Green Onion Egg" - not worth it. Chinese Donut was nice and crispy. Beef roll was tender and flavorful - highly recommend. Soy + Peanut Milk was lightly sweetened and went well with the Chinese Donut. Will definitely be back when in the area or craving Taiwanese breakfast!

Yelp
I think I found one of my favorite breakfast places in SGV. In an unassuming building that is shared with other businesses and an apartment complex, I would never have guessed this hot Taiwanese brunch spot. The highlights for me were the hot soymilk with peanut and wonton noodle soup, both were fresh, aromatic, and comforting as a Sunday brunch day. Highly recommend checking this place before 4 pm!

Yelp
I've been missing Taiwanese breakfast, so we decided to check out this place! However, I was pretty disappointed by everything we got. baked bread and you tiao (1/5): the bread was super super dry and i've never been a huge fan of you tiao. they both lacked any significant flavor. i also wish you could add cabbage or peanut powder to the bread which would be a great taiwanese touch. egg pancake (4/5): i think this was the first time that ive had dan bing, but i enjoyed this dish. i thought the eggs were cooked well and the actually pancake/bing was perfectly thin. I appreciated the scallions in the egg as well. green onion pastry (1/5): i really didn't like the pastry because everything was soggy/mushy. it was probably due to being in the display warmer for too long. the green onion inside was just okay. overall, i wouldn't come back. there's a good amount of seating and food comes out quickly. there's a sauce section where you can self serve which i appreciated. parking is available in a garage below the plaza and at the plaza itself.

Yelp
We arrived within an hour of when Yi Mei closed for the day and had our choice of any table. We ordered at the counter and the food arrived as it was prepped, with the chilled options arriving first. Utensils and water are self serve, so we helped ourselves as we waited. They make their soy milk in house and it was delicious and refreshing. We were happy with their simple Chinese pancake with egg, and the pork belly sandwich was larger (at least the bread) than I was used to and came with pickled vegetables, cilantro, and sweetened ground peanuts for a tasty contrast. 2% discount for cash payments.

Yelp
Fun, Fresh, and Surprisingly Spacious -- Yi Mei Hits the Spot! Stopped by Yi Mei around 10:30am and loved how chill the vibe was. The place is nice, clean, and super spacious -- no shoulder-to-shoulder chaos here! You seat yourself, scan the QR code, order and pay right on your phone... honestly, efficiency goals. Food also came out one dish at a time every few minutes, so you never felt rushed but never waited long either. They even have a little sauce bar on the side with soy sauce, vinegar, chili, and more -- as a self-proclaimed saucy gal, I was thriving. I ordered seven things (yes, seven -- no regrets) and each one had simple, clean flavors that made it really easy to savor everything in its own way. Food Rundown + Ratings 1) Daikon Cake + Egg -- $7.50 (7/10) Good texture, tasty, and the egg adds that extra flavor boost. Solid start! 2) Green Onion Pancake -- $7.75 (7/10) Chewy, fun, and satisfying. Nothing wild but enjoyable to munch on. 3) Beef Roll w/ Green Onion + Egg -- $14 (6.8/10) Still not beating my fave at 101 Noodle Express, but this one had nice beef flavor. The roll was a bit thick, but the crunchy green onions were a great add-on. 4) Leek Fish Dumplings (10pc) -- $10.50 (6.8/10) Didn't really taste the "fish," but the dumplings were still decent and worth trying once. 5) Sweet Purple Rice Roll -- $7 (8/10) My FAVORITE of the day! A chewy, sweet-savory fan tuan moment with textures for days -- purple sticky rice, pork floss, crispy youtiao, little pops of pickled veg... everything balanced so well. Would 100% get again. 6) Cold Soybean Milk -- $3.25 (8/10) Smooth, lightly sweet, refreshing. Simple but so good. Overall: Yi Mei was a fun and easy experience with fast service, friendly staff, and plenty more on the menu I still want to try. I'll definitely be back to continue my little Taiwanese breakfast adventure!

Yelp
Was with my mom who wanted some Taiwanese breakfast. Drove out here from the South Bay, which was quite a haul however it was well worth it. Had soy milk, fan tuan, beef roll, and green onion pancake. My mouth is watering just thinking about it right now. I know it's a chain, but we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Service was quick restaurant was Spartan but clean. Will consider going out here again if in the San Gabriel Valley.

Yelp
I've never been to this plaza honestly, but first time here because of Yi Mei! Plenty and easy to park in the structure. We came around 10:30am for Taiwanese breakfast and boy it was busyyyy. Luckily there was seating open. You order at the cashier and seat yourself when they hand you a number. My friend ordered this salty soybean soup, and this beef "sandwich' that I wasn't sure what it was called, but she ordered in Chinese haha. We also got the purple rice roll, and two soy bean drinks. We also shared everything. The food is plentiful for two and quite filling. Prices are very reasonable here for Taiwanese breakfast! Food was solid. I would say the service here is a bit unorganized, if you're a first timer here, you may be confused on how this establishment works. Especially since it's a bit chaotic in there haha. Overall, great experience! I'm glad Yi Mei here is thriving.

Yelp
This is a must for Taiwanese breakfast lovers. The salty rice roll and fresh soy milk are spot-on classics, while the beef roll and scallion pancake are perfectly flaky and flavorful. Try the curry puff for a savory-sweet treat and the cabbage pork dumplings, which are tender and juicy. Plenty of seating (though gets busy around 11am) and convenient parking make it easy to enjoy a casual breakfast or brunch. A solid spot for anyone craving authentic Taiwanese flavors!!

Yelp
This is hands down one of our favorite Taiwanese breakfast spots in the SGV! It's always busy on weekends, but we've never had to wait long. The tables turn over quickly, and service is pretty efficient. Our go-to orders are the salty soy milk, turnip cake, and egg omelette -- comforting and consistent every time. We used to go to the Arcadia location, but this San Gabriel one is definitely cleaner and more spacious, which makes the experience even better. For fun, I actually hosted a blind taste test with a group of friends (10+ ppl), comparing items from four different Taiwanese breakfast places -- Yi Mei was one of them. We tried two classics: turnip cake and green onion pancake -- and Yi Mei was the clear winner for both! Perfect texture, flavor, and that nostalgic Taiwanese breakfast vibe done right. I haven't tried their noodle or rice dishes yet because I'm always in a breakfast mood when I come here... maybe next time! If you're craving authentic Taiwanese breakfast, Yi Mei is a must.

Yelp
Yi Mei in San Gabriel is my go-2 spot for Egg Omelette ($7.50), Sweet Rice Roll ($6.00), and Iced Soy Milk ($3.25, $1+ for L). Their online order option makes it a cinch to place your order, pick up, and go. There's plenty of parking (underground parking and street parking available), and pick up is fast and easy. I give their food a 7/10 (breakfast only), as I haven't tried any of their lunch items. Service is 9/10 as you're greeted with a smile once you walk in despite how busy they are. Head's up: They do close at 4pm so dinner options are unavailable. The restaurant is clean as they're one of the newer Yi Mei locations in the 626 area. Highly recommended! Can't wait to try their lunch soon!

Yelp
I was craving taiwanese food and came across this place and it was really good! I called in and got the sausage rice for to go. It tasted really authentic, came with two sides, and the portion was big and definitely had leftovers. They have lots of options and I would for sure come back to try more.

Yelp
I came here for lunch again, even though it is a breakfast spot. Everything was okay. QR code order, grab your own napkins and utensils, etc. Asking for extra plates for sharing, or can take some time to reach a staff. Purple rice roll is was delicious. Still heavy though. They are known for their rice rolls though, and pickles. It made me fall in love with rice rolls again from my 1st experience here. This is my 2nd visit. Dan dan noodle was unexpectedly very spicy. Too spicy to eat. Texture was nice but taste wasn't enough for me to torture myself that hard on it. Cucumber seemed old. Beef roll was very meaty. It's okay. Spicy wonton. It's only good cause of the chili? I'm not a huge fan but it's not bad for many less picky people. We ordered different dishes this time. So my previous review will also explain what I thought to avoid, and try for me.

Yelp
Pulled up to the San Gabriel spot for the first time--vibe's a lil diff from the Chino Hills one. You can either order old school at the counter or just scan the barcode, super easy. We went with the scan and voila--everything's on there, from customizing the meal to cashin' out on the app. Super clutch. Found out this location got rice rolls with that crispy Chinese donut inside--straight fire. The pork roll? Also bomb. Only thing, when trying to get water, it is up. Worker needs to check the self service 'sauce counter' time to time...

Yelp
I am continuing to leave more reviews here with more updates on additional items and notes to myself about any new favorites discovered here because I am so over the moon with this clean and delicious place :) again, the Taiwanese tamales did not disappoint and I love them so much that I am definitely now considering buying their frozen batches in bulk, and I am probably going to walk out with like 10 of them next time lol. New items I tried were their little pastries up front, I tried their curry pastry on the top (zOMG) and their Lwo Bwo Sh Bing on the bottom (I don't know how to say it in English :( but it's the one with the turnip/radish/white carrot strips inside). I did not really care much for the Lwo Bwo Sh Bing and would not order it for myself again personally (it wasn't bad and was pretty good/decent for a small Lwo Bwo Sh Bing, very flakey and a good amount of soft flakey crust, but I think I just personally prefer a different taste/texture in a pastry), but omg the CURRY PASTRY, was to die for. It was basically the twist on my childhood diamond bakery version (which I always wished had way less bread and way more filling) reincarnated into the ultra super version of what I always wished it would be more like. Oh!! Gosh, now I am motivated to learn how to make some deep fried curry dumplings that taste like that at home now. Finally a Taiwanese curry pastry with more filling. Love it. I also tried their pork mushroom bao and their vegetable pork bao. Both tasted like how you would expect a standard smaller version of those baos to taste (because they are not the big/larger juicy kind), and I realized I am much more fond of the mushroom pork version than the vegetable pork version (again, the vegetable pork version wasn't bad and was how you would expect a standard small one to taste, not extraordinary but not bad at all either, but I just like mushroom pork flavor a lot better since they have very different flavor and texture profiles). Next I will probably try their dumplings :) I'm excited. To be continued hehe

Yelp
One of my favorite places to grab fan tuans (rice rolls) to-go! Growing up in the Bay Area, rice rolls (using white rice) were only offered on weekends, so I was definitely surprised to learn that Yi Mei sells different kinds of rice rolls on a daily basis. Ever since my first time here, I have been coming back whenever I'm craving Taiwanese breakfast! These rice rolls are massive AND delicious! Inside the rice rolls, you'll notice a crispy youtiao (fried chinese donut), pork floss, and some pickled vegetables. Since the rice roll is dry (no sauce inside), I'd recommend pairing it with Sweet Soy Milk. Hands down the perfect meal! When I eat this in the morning, I will tend to skip lunch because it is so filling. If you're on the fence and can't decide between the purple rice roll and the regular rice roll (using white rice), I'd recommend trying both! In my opinion, the purple rice roll has a chewier texture because it's more glutinous and dense. Will definitely come back in the future for a sit-down meal and try other breakfast items!

Yelp
Ordered ahead on their website and no issues picking up! The fan Tuan is great and good ratio of rice. Add the egg I wish they gave chili oil. I liked the daikon cake a lot and the sweet cold soy milk and Chinese donut. Friends really liked the beef roll too.

Yelp
Everything is good!!! I was in Heaven. They have condos/apt above the restaurant and I am so jealous they get to come to this place whenever they want! They are famous for their Chinese breakfast. Their menu is super broad, but we ordered just about all my favorites. See pictures! Place was nice, clean, more modern then most restaurants like this, and fast. They have free water and a mini sauce station. My recos from what I got: Salty version of the Sweet rice roll Sweet or salty soy bean drink/soup. The salty one comes with a larger bowl option, I got that and took the rest home! Turnip cake was the best! We ordered three plates (it was too much) but you can tell how much we loved it. Others we loved: minced meat on white rice combo, fried chicken popcorn and pork chop taste the same, just choose based on the meat you like and cut. Can loose with either! Service: you order with QR code, they bring the food to your table. Self serve water, sauce and utencils.
google avatar

Yelp
I really really hate their menu ordering. It's supposed to be hassle free with limited interaction, however the layout of the menu and set up is not user friendly at all. It is confusing if you are using it the first time. The lady that is in charge of the cashier has the grumpiest face ever! She looks like she has beef with you. You help yourself to the condiments available out in the sitting area. If that's the case, do still you tip??? I ordered their beef noodle soup which is pretty good - meat is simmered to tenderness where it melts away in your mouth. Turnip cake is fried to the texture do a hash brown and the crunch adds crispyness to it ----not at all like the version from the dim sum cart. It's 4 pieces but they took a regular slice and slice it in 1/2. I came here 3 times already and all of the visits are eh.

Yelp
Loveee going here for brunch with my girls ! Service is very quick and easy to order through the app. I loveee their soy milk ! You can get a hot bowl to share or individual ( hot/cold). The milk is not tooooo sweet. Their signature rice roll is also so good and customizeable! I highly recommend !

Yelp
First time visiting this location, it's much bigger with lots of seating compared to Monrovia. You order at the table by scanning the QR code, food came out quickly. We enjoyed the beef noodle soup, pork feet rice, fried dumplings, pork chop rice, fried chicken rice, sausage rice, meatball & cold sweet soy milk. Will definitely return to try more items on the menu.

Yelp
Found my new favorite spot for Taiwanese breakfast!! I ordered a purple rice roll and it made for the perfect savory breakfast. It was massive (basically the size of a large burrito) so I was able to nibble on it throughout the day. Everything on the menu here is really affordable. They have a bunch of prepared bakery items for sale as well. I will be back to try their daikon cake next!
google avatar

Ichika G.

Yelp
I did a pick up order. The online price and in store price is the same which I love because sometimes restaurants change prices for online orders. It was one of my first times trying a Taiwanese food. The rice roll was ACTUALLY big!!! Some other review said she kept munching on through out the day and she wasn't lying!!! When I went to pick up there were 5 people in the door area and they were all Chinese. That's when you know the place is legit! Pick up was smooth and ETA on website was accurate. All the food was great except one thing I ordered which is Taiwanese meatball? The jelly and the sauce wasn't for me. Also peanut drink wasn't my favorite either but tolerable. The triangle rice "tamale" was good. Beef roll was phenomenal. Salty soy milk was so flavorful!!! I'd like to go back and try more.

Yelp
I was really craving Taiwanese food and am so glad that we planned to stop by here when we were in the area for the Huntington Gardens. We got a cold soymilk, dan bing, fan tuan, and the oyster omelette. The soymilk tasted pretty watered down to me. The dan bing was ok - I was searching for the sweet sauce that usually comes with it, but I didn't find it so they must have been out. The oyster omelette was decent and had good flavor. If we're comparing to the quality of food you can get in Taiwan it's pretty on par, but the fan tuan was the highlight hands down! I will be coming back to try their other dishes!!

Yelp
I was craving Taiwanese breakfast and this place really hit the spot. My family and I got the egg pancake, daikon cake, rice roll, beef noodle soup, and minced pork noodle to share. Everything was good except the noodle dishes. The beef noodle soup had wayyy too much cumin and no other flavors and the minced pork noodle had too much white pepper. I'd stay away from the noodle dishes. It's all self service here- you order on your phone and grab utensils, sauce, and water by yourself.

Yelp
Stopped here for a delicious breakfast with a friend early on a Saturday morning! Got here around 8:30 am and there were plenty of seats. Food is reasonably priced and generous portions. The radish cakes, beef roll, and purple rice roll were my favorite. By 9:15 am the dinning area was filling up so I do suggest arriving early for a variety of seating options and a less crowded environment.

Yelp
I was really craving taiwanese breakfast and was recommended to check out this place. This restaurant is located in a plaza so there is a small parking lot, otherwise there is street parking on the main road. There's ample seating inside, and it wasn't too packed when I came around brunch time. Purple rice roll (4/5): This was good and definitely really filling. The portion is big, so I personally couldn't finish it but I thought the dish itself was good. I think it would taste good if it had some sort of sauce since it's really carb heavy and dry. So sauce could possibly help balance out the texture, but I don't know what sauce would go well with it. Chinese donut (5/5): This is probably the best chinese donut I've ever had. So crispy on the outside and pairs perfectly with the soy milk. Soy milk (3/5): The soy milk on its own is not my favorite, but paired with the chinese donut was amazing. The milk comes in a bowl so it is a lot if you're just using it to dip the donut with.

Yelp
Yi mei is my go-to for fan tuans and turnip cakes. First time at this location, but the restaurant was pretty spacious. Parking lot wasn't full when I came around 11 on a Sunday, but was packed when we left an hour later. Fan tuan: sticky rice wasn't too hard, and it had the perfect amount of pickled vegetables, pork sung, and oil bread ratio, 5/5. Daikon cake: oily, but flavor never disappoints. It was crispy and delicious, 4.5/5. Popcorn chicken plate: The chicken was crispy and the minced meat was well flavored. Portion was decent, 4.5/5. Salty sesame bread: I wouldn't buy this at this location again. It was oily, hard, and double fried, 0/5. Everything was good, besides the salty sesame bread today. Service was friendly and quick.

Yelp
Yi Mei is a safe and affordable option whenever I'm craving some comfort Taiwanese brunch/breakfast foods or a rice roll in particular. The area is always really clean and there's convenient parking. My favorite is the rice roll, I don't think I'll ever visit without getting one. You can't go wrong with anything here. The crunch from the corners of the Daikon cakes is pretty satisfying.

Yelp
Food was good, service was extremely bad. Other customers were brought utensils and plates while we were not. We ordered the pork belly bao and it came with items that we did not ask for, refused to refund us the food but also did not fix the order.so we essentially paid $6 for nothing and we could not even get the money back. Horrible experience

Yelp
Was craving Taiwanese breakfast food and found Yi Mei. The parking lot only has a handful of spot in it so it can be hard to find parking if you come on a weekend. I came between lunch and dinner on a weekday and there was still only 2 open spots available. The inside is pretty spacious and there were only a few people inside. The only drawback I found is that I found the service a bit nonexistent. I wasn't sure what to do when I stepped inside but after a few minutes someone came to the front and told me I could either order with them or sit down and order from the table. I used the table mobile menu to order Hot Soy Peanut Milk, the Purple Rice Roll, Egg Omelette, and Beef Sandwich. The food didn't take long to arrive but while waiting you can pick up utensils and sauces from a side bar. Everything was great and filled my cravings. I'd definitely come back to pick some up to go.

Yelp
Everything is self-served, as you walk yourself to a table, order on your phone by scanning the QR code, pick up your own utensils and water, and pay on the phone when you are done. We did not order the best food items. The salty soy milk with Chinese donut has a sour taste to it, be mindful if you are not use to it. The egg omelette is egg wrapped in flour skin, it is quite salty. We also ordered boiled pork and leek dumplings, the most normal item of all. Ohhhh please don't order their iced "watered down" soy milk, for $3.25 you have a cup of drink that tastes a hint of soy. The environment is LOUD. If you are looking for a casual and relaxing time with your friend, you are in the wrong place as you'll have to scream to hear each other.

Yelp
Felt like I was eating a home cooked meal. The beef roll was my absolute favorite and was really rich in flavor and texture. Pairs well with the chili sauce and/or garlic sauce. Everything else was delicious as well. Felt like "Anton Ego trying Ratatouille at Gustav's"

Yelp
Wonderful food. Clean and comfortable dining area. Good service even though mostly self-service.

Yelp
I thought the food was decent and had a good amount of seating. Of course it's not exactly like Taiwan but was standard for the area. Also they really tried to find us a seat during Saturday lunch and were quick to bring out food. There parking up front and underground. Overall I would say it's a solid place for Taiwanese breakfast foods.

Yelp
The food is my childhood memory. The only disappointment is my stomach is not big enough. I wanted to order every single thing on the menu.

Yelp
Prepare for large portions. My favorite is the egg roll here and you can add the Chinese donut stick inside. Also love their turnip cake with egg. I wish they would also add cheese or corn like they do in Taiwan. I like this location because it's sit down too. The one thing I'd skip is the xiao long bao (soup dumplings). They had a thin skin but pretty much all broke when trying to eat them even with a spoon the the flavor of the inside is very bland

Yelp
Definitely NO, TERRIBLE QUALITY OF FOOD, we both had bad diarrhea after eating the Turnips cake w eggs; the store told us they're using the alternative eggs, awful

Yelp
I came here for Christmas morning breakfast and it was a great experience. You sit down where you can and you use the QR code on the tables to order. Once you pay, they deliver directly to your table. The service is super efficient & quick. My favorite was the daikon pancakes with egg. It has lots of texture instead of just soggy like how it's usually served. There's lots of Taiwanese breakfast items. It's also an amazing price. We got so many dishes & it only cost $100 for 5 people. Definitely would come again.

Yelp
It was easy and fast. Friendly and fast service. I ordered my food online, arrived in 10 minutes and it was all ready. I ordered a hot soy milk right when I got there and someone brought it out immediately (remember to add your own sugar, because I forgot). The omelette with pork sung cannot compare to four sea though... this omelette have more egg than pork sung but the garlic sauce made everything good. The sweet rice roll that I had was amazing! Interior was filled with sweet stuff (I usually order the salty one). So this was good for dessert, maybe next time I'll order salty if I want it as a meal.

Yelp
Food - 4/5 The rice roll with pork floss is so good and probably my favorite thing off the menu. Everything is so reasonably priced for the amount of food you get. Service - 4/5 Quick service. Food made to order. Ambience - 4/5 No frills spot with a few tables.
