Sleek, modern restaurant on the Bund with a Michelin star serving elegant, contemporary Shanghainese cuisine. The food is excellent, beautifully presented, and the service is quietly efficient. The food manages to be a reimagining of traditional Shanghai cuisine - with its focus on scrupulously fresh seafood and light, lively flavours - without being overly showy or fusion-y. The sweet river shrimp were a delight, as were the fried mandarin fish fillets, the meltingly soft tofu skin appetizer, and the wagyu beef ribs. The star for us was the eel rice served crunchy in a traditional clay pot.

Well, they got their michelin star very well deserved. FANTASTIC FOOD FLAVOR IN EVERY DISH. The service is flawless, the servers are always making sure you have everything you need and no waiting time for anything at all. I was really dazzled by their services. We were 4 people and paid lass than $70 per person. That was the best part! I had to lower the stars… these people we came once and they had pekin duck, now we returned two more times and they were out of duck….. horrible

Really good cooking. The chicken soup with artistically cut tofu was superb. The pepper crispy chicken was decent too. Service was alright but the person serving our table should not keep pushing those more premium dishes. Ambience was cosy. Their specialty Chinese tea was great with the lunch.

What the restaurant did seem illegal. We saw the Michelin star and got all excited, we heard there is a good quota we need to meet from the person who made the reservation for us, so we ordered a lot of food, and wine. He told us drinks doesn’t count into the quota, so we didn’t order a second bottle. When we asked the waiter to check, we were told we are still short for the 5000rmb minimum for food orders(alcohol excluded). We only have 6 people and have a bunch of left over on the table we couldn’t finish and we really want to go back to our hotel to sleep. However, the waiter suggested as to buy a tea set to go in order to meet the minimum food requirement. None want the tea set, so we ask to negotiate with them. It took us more than half an hour and the whole group felt we were trapped there and couldn’t leave, our boss who’s paying but doesn’t speak Chinese finally asks “can we just pay them to the money they want so we can leave?” Finally they agreed to let us go by ordering another overpriced bottle of wine to go to make up for their food quota which they said doesn’t include drinks, and we originally had already ordered more than 4000rmb worth of food. Even the food was nice, we couldn’t get over how we ended up spending so much money for such a traumatic experience.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, I opted for their set menu, which showcased the restaurant's signature dishes, and every bite was a delight. The prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food, and seeing the various awards displayed on the walls, it’s clear that they are well-deserved. The location is fantastic, adding to the overall experience. The ambiance is inviting, perfect for both casual meals and special occasions.
