Jonathon Yao's Favorite Places to Eat in the San Gabriel Valley - AFAR

"A Taiwanese teahouse that blends the island’s abundant fruit flavors with traditional teas, using locally sourced fruit and teas imported from Taiwan to craft signature drinks like ai yu jelly lemon tea. The mango pomelo sago cooler—a mango- and pomelo-flavored smoothie topped with tiny sago pearls—is a recommended specialty that showcases fruity, refreshing Taiwanese teahouse flavors." - Mae Hamilton

Authentic Taiwanese style tea place ! I really enjoyed my winter melon lemon tea with aiyu jelly. I customized it with half ice and half sugar, and it turned out perfectly balanced. The tea had a subtle hint of winter melon, which was nice. The matcha latte with aiyu jelly and red bean was equally satisfying. Opted for 30% sugar, and it struck just the right level of sweetness. Both drinks were refreshing and well-crafted. Also ordered the Yifang egg pancakes. The texture was great—the inside was slightly bouncy while the outside had a nice firmness to it. A tasty and fun addition to the afternoon tea.

My love of tea happened years ago in Taiwan. Yifang brings me straight back to that moment! Every visit warms my heart and sends my taste buds to Taiwan! For me Yifang is the standard for all teas and bobas and the bar is set so high. They use fresh fruit, organic sugar cane and all natural ingredients. You can tell from the flavors that your drink does NOT come from a flavored powder. I usually visit their Irvine location but I was in San Gabriel so I stopped in. It is a small store, like the Irvine location. You can order from the kiosks or from the employee at the front. The service is very pleasant and helpful. While they are not the fastest, because they are not mixing powders, the couple more minutes is well worth the wait! This place was booming and everyone was more than happy as they walked away with their order. I ordered: Lychee green tea with lychee jelly Yakult peach green tea Brown sugar boba matcha latte Taro green tea latte Pineapple with almond jelly I say if you are near a Yifang location give them a go! They may be where your bar is set too!

My son was craving a boba drink. Based on reviews this place has "good reviews" which is why we decided to give it a try before continuing our errands. We ordered a strawberry iced latte with boba and a banana black sesame latte. When we got our order my sons drink didn't have boba and I told the guy and he said I didn't ask for actual boba when I did because that's what my son specifically wanted. I decided to leave and not make it a big deal. When we got in our car, we decided to try our drinks my sons drink tasted okay nothing amazing that we would go back for and my drink tasted like old banana if that makes sense. I would not recommend this place.

No sign outside the store so you might park at the wrong plaza. It’s in the the smaller plaza. Parking is very difficult. We got green tea with aiyu jelly. I think they could’ve added a bit more jelly. The fruit tea was mainly just the tea with a subtle flavor. Still pretty good. It’s one of their signature drinks. Their drinks aren’t as sweet as other places so I do enjoy it more. They do get busy so be prepared to wait a bit.

Stopped by en route home after work while searching for nearby boba places for quick takeout. This shop is found inside a busy strip mall along with lots of other food shops. Parking: *** - can be crowded since it's always packed in the strip mall - parking lot isn't that big with two rows making a U on entry and exit Service: **** - fairly quick - order from the counter and they take credit card - drinks came out under 10 minutes and there were 2 customers ahead of me Ambience: *** - small shop with side benches for waiting Drinks: *** - I tried their After 6p boba milk tea special: BOGO for $7 and change - good pricing though * VERDICT : 70% sugar was not enough even compared to other boba places reduced sugar tastes better - they give you SO much boba - like 45% off the drink was boba - probably to get rid of boba after 6p? I'll probably go back to try out other drinks to see if there's any quality change.

Wow, fantastic Chinese drink place! I visited the store in Taiwan, and it was ok. But, this store, it's amazing! Their brown sugar milk drink was amazing. And their macha boba is the best macha drink I have in US! Their boba is very soft and little chewy towards the end. It is the best Chinese drink place in LA! 🔥👍🥰

Got pearl black tea latte, half sweet. It's amazing. I prefer my drinks to be less sweet so half sweet is the perfect amount. The pearls are smaller than normal (between standard boba and mini boba) for some reason, but it has a nice flavor to it. However it took over 30 minutes to get my drink. I understand that it's a soft opening so it was really crowded.

We had Yifang Taiwan Fruit Tea for 3 consecutive days while we were in LA for the long weekend. They were located a couple of blocks from our hotel. The Mango Sago really hit the spot! I also tried the Mango Pomelo Sago, which had bits and pieces of the fruit in the drink, and it's non-dairy. It is very refreshing on a hot day or any day, really! We also tried the egg pancakes, which is kind of like an egg waffle with filings. It's only available between 12-9 pm. It was a nice snack/sweet treat, but it got a little soggy by the time we got back to the hotel. Service is quick. You can order in-person or use their kiosk. I ordered from their website for quicker pickup. The parking lot is small and shared with few other businesses, so it's always full. You may have to double park, run in, and grab your drink.
