This place was an absolute treat for Chang Fen dishes! I ate this when I was in China years ago, and this one is just as good, and is packed with delicious ingredients. Our group tried nearly every rice roll on the menu. All of them were tasty and super fresh from the steamer. I liked the shrimp, beef, pork, and chinese sausage toppings. Be sure to add egg all over your rolls, or add extra meat! Make sure no matter what you order, finish it off with the "dough stick rice noodle roll" which is crunchy, soft, steamy, savory, nuty, and sweet! Service by Sasha (sp?) was quick, recommendations were on point, and food hit the spot! Definitely would come back again.

Great authentic Cantonese Cuisine. Wait wasn't too long however worth the time spent. Got their Lo Mai Gai (sticky rice Chinese sausage, braised pork, wrapped in lotus leaves) Curry fish balls, and a BBQ pork rice bowl with sweet soy sauce, and what appeared to be a popular dish rice noodle rolls with pork, shrimp, and green onions which was beyond our expectations of deliciousness. You can order that in many different styles. Those rice noodle rolls on their own was amazing! Very delicious and would love to come back here with the family again and try other items on their menu. Your wait time could vary 30+ minutes. Place was clean, organized, sanitized, offer friendly and professional service.

Rice roll is good but I wait a bit long due to a large the take-out order by someone else. The portion of the beef offal is small, though tasty.

The zhou is delicious, paired with youtiao of course! The changfen is made beautifully and the flavor options are varied. Service is quick and efficient. I love having breakfast here.

Beware of their suddent demand of "Cash Only" Policy. This store shows all the credit card signs at entrance indicating they are accepting card transactions. Nothing tells you that this is a Cash only restaurant. Yet after you dine and check out their only waiter will tell you they only accept cash. So if you are in a group that spent $100+ and not prepared then it is a very bad experience. We do not want to waste our time arguing but simply will not come back again.

Customer service here is poor but the food here is amazing! Had the same exact shop back in Guangzhou! Won’t be coming back though because the service is 😰

I came in for lunch. It is CASH ONLY, which I thought was strange considering the pandemic. Each chang fen was about $8 to $10. I got the shrimp and beef, shrimp and pork, and beef brisket. There is a outdoor seating area. The service was not good and not very friendly. When we were done with our food after eating outside, they wouldn't take our trash. The food was good, traditional Chinese flavor, but I wouldn't come back.

Yelp
It was my first time eating at Yin Ji Chang Fen, and I enjoyed trying so many dishes! I had congee, Chinese doughnut sticks, changfen (noodle roll), and fishballs. My favorite was the Shredded Pork and Gold Preserved Egg Congee because it's a perfect medley of textures and savory flavors in every bite :) Added a little chilly oil to spice it up! My next favorite was the Marinated Beef with Chives Noodle Roll. It's almost like eating the Cantonese Beef Chow Fun in a changfen (noodle roll). A satisfying way to eat it for sure! SaSa was also very friendly and attentive to our needs - very hospitable! Thank you! Definitely will come back again!

Yelp
I was so excited to finally get to try this chain from my family's hometown of Guangzhou. We came in at 10am and there were some people, but plenty of seats. We ordered the lai wan congee (aka sampan congee), fried doughstick (youtiao), shrimp and chives rice noodle roll, and braised beef brisket. Everything was hot and delicious. The congee had fish, and some slices of charsiu? in it, w peanuts and thin threads of ginger. We both really liked it. The doughstick was crispy, but i wish it was bigger like back in the day, they come at least twice the size. The rice noodle roll had very thin noodle, which is pretty hard to do. The shrimp were tiny though. We saw the next table order braised beef brisket and it looked good so we did the same. It was very flavorful and tender. I haven't been to the original chain in Guangzhou, but generally the shrimps are supposed to be big and meaty.

Yelp
The overall service was satisfactory, with no major complaints, and the food arrived quickly. Opted for the veggie cheung fun (steamed rice noodle roll), but it fell short of the flavors I've experienced at dimsum places. Additionally, the pricing here was on the higher side. Although I was eager to enjoy a vegetarian-friendly cheung fun WITH a filling, it seemed predominantly composed of raw shredded carrots. Enhancing the dish with a more diverse mushroom selection and the inclusion of baby corns or bamboo shoots would be an improvement. The filling consisted mainly of sliced shiitake, carrot, and, I believe, napa. Also, the pricing of a Hong Kong milk tea was really expensive so I walked to Chicha after instead and theres also Tan-cha next door. On the plus side, the menu does seem authentically Hong Kong style. My HK native husband was excited for the hot lemon coke. The seating area was spaced out enough thus leaving room for a stroller, making it family-friendly for those dining with children.

Yelp
Specialty Chang Fun restaurant? Count me in! Their Chang fun had such amazing texture- it was thin but had that je ne sais quoi. It almost as good as the one in Flushing, NY but they have much more varieties of flavor here. I was expecting the typical umami sauce like at dim sum places so their milder sauce took me aback. I'm guessing it's because they want the ingredients to shine, which it really did. To order: They give you a menu picture, a pen, and a scratch paper. Each menu item has a number, which you write on the scratch paper and hand to the waiter to order. Got the: 1) pork & shrimp Chang fun: 9/10 - Delicious and lots of ingredients - shrimp was a great texture, I only wish it was a tad bit bigger 2) The fish rice noodle was amazing: 10/10 - the fish was very soft and tender and just falls apart in your chopsticks. - They also seasoned the fish really well with white pepper - would get again and again 3) beef stew Chang fun: 8/10 - looks like their beef stew is very popular because they have many items with beef stew and I watched him scoop some from a large vat 4) egg Chang fun: 8/10 - great, I mean, It's eggs in rice noodle, what else is there to say? 5) chicken Chang fun: 9/10 - one word: scrumptious 6) Preserved egg and pork congee: 9/10 - the theme of this restaurant has been amazing texture- and this congee had exemplary texture - it was perfectly thick and had lots of ingredients - it comes with some chopped veggies and cilantro- I only wish there was more cilantro - there's white pepper on the table if you want to add any Can't wait to come back again. They get a bonus in my book for playing 90's HK films on TV, lol.

Yelp
Definitely what I would call a hidden gem in the 626. The best thousand year egg porridge, beef/shrimp rice rolls, and rice paper wrapped Chinese donuts. Everything I've tried tastes so much better here than it does at other restaurants. It's become sort of a tradition for me to order all of these either to dine in or take to go. They do prefer you pay in cash, but great thing is they also take venmo. Parking is a breeze as there is plenty of parking in the garage.

Ashley H.

Yelp
It was very expensive for what it is. For the two of us, it was ~$40 for a quick lunch. We had the porridge, the rice roll with Chinese donuts, and the Chashu rice bowl. I do think the Chashu was very good, but I still don't know if it was worth the price. Porridge was good but definitely not $13 good. Rice roll was fine, I would probably not get it again though. Overall, I don't think I would go back. They also do not take credit cards, but you have the option to Venmo or Zelle.

Samantha W.

Yelp
We love this place. It's fast, simple and tasty. They have a bunch of different steamed rice rolls & congee. The congee is consistently good, nice texture and seasoning. The steamed rice rolls are fresh and yummy. Love the corn one. The Chinese donut okay the first time. But most recently it was super good, fresh and crisp.

Liza M.

Yelp
[allium-free vegetarian/vegan review] I thought this would be similar to the yin ji chang fen in the bay area but it is compeltely different. The menu looks different and there was a lot of cross contamination. Very limited options to begin with. Service was excruciatingly slow. Tables were left filled with plates long after the customers had left. Seemed like the waitstaff did not want to be there.

Johnny H.

Yelp
Love the porridge and chang fen! Milk tea is alright (not boba shop level) Worth a visit!

Jeff Y.

Yelp
After my big canto foodie friend always raving about this place (apparently is one of the big name brands in Canton), I was super sad when I went to the store in Rowland only to find it permanently shutdown... Needless to say, was soo excited when I stumbled upon this location in San Gabriel! And boy it did not disappoint even with my high expectation! It may not have the best ambience but the food was definitely on point! Ordered a Beef Congee, the house special Beef and Shrimp Chang Fen, and the the Pork Kidney Chang Fen. All are probably the best I've had. Definitely will be back to try more varieties!

Amy Y.

Yelp
I love steamed rice noodle rolls (cheung fen), so I really wanted to like this place, but I was disappointed in the rolls because I felt like I've had better at dim sum places. I did place a to-go order, so not sure if that had an impact, but I consumed this within 15 minutes of getting my order. I walked in to place my order about 5 minutes after the restaurant opened. The place is super casual. It took them about 15-20 minutes to make my order. The guy taking my order was nice and even let me have extra sauces for my to-go order. The sauce comes on the side if you place a to-go order. The actual casing (the noodle part) was thin and tasted not bad, but it was super oily, and this was before I poured the soy sauce on it. I also didn't love the filling of the some of these rolls. I felt like some of the filling inside the roll didn't taste like it was made with fresh ingredients. Nothing really stood out to me, but if I had to pick a favorite, I'd say the shrimp and chives. I really don't recommend the fish and chives one...that tasted really fishy. Also, as heads up, the dough stick roll (which I normally like)...the dough stick was crispy and airy, but it totally disintegrated from its own oilyness after 30 minutes.

Yelp
I came into this place to try authentic cantonese food and I really enjoyed the food. I got the 蛋肉肠粉 (egg & meat chang fen) and a cup of Hong Kong milk tea. The service was extremely friendly and prompt. The restaurant itself has a "hole in the wall" vibe, which is what I like because these are the places known to have great food. Overall, it was the perfect place for a quick and delicious lunch.

Katie C.

Yelp
Cash or Venmo ONLY. When you walk in they'll seat you and give you a scrap piece of paper with a tiny pencil for you to write down which item number you would like to order. You then hand it to the server. Service is quite slow and you do need to wave down your server if you need something. If you love steamed rice rolls, definitely give this place a try. Silky smooth with a slight bounce and chew. They do not skimp on filling. I ordered 2 different steamed rice rolls and neither of them disappoint. Marinated Pork and Shrimp with Chives- Marinated pork was extremely tender and smooth. Shrimp was fresh, had a nice crisp firm texture. Dried Shrimp and Green Onion- Dried shrimp added an umami flavor that paired with the slightly sweet soy sauce. I don't recommend their congee if you prefer a smooth consistent texture. The congee had some rice grains and some grains stuck together. Other parts of the congee was quite watery, this created a lumpy texture. It was almost like throwing in cooked rice into a pot of premade congee. I did not like their Ham Chin Peng. It was fried too long leaving the outside hard and crunchy. It was also quite greasy. I prefer my Ham Chin Peng to be crispy on the outside with a soft and fluffy inside.

Yelp
Came here for late breakfast/early lunch since we were craving Cantonese dishes. Food was pretty good and the restaurant is pretty small

Yelp
Super delicious!!!! Was uncomfortably full. Almost fell asleep driving afterwards because it was too delicious.

Yelp
What a dissatisfying experience. (3/10) HongKong Style Frozen Milk Tea/ $6.25 - The tea isn't rich, tea's fragrant is weak, most importantly it's almost $2 more expensive than the hot tea when the temperature was just a little bit cooler than room temp. Totally scam on the $2 extra when it's not as "frozen" as advertised. And when I confronted the waiter about it, he said there's no ice available since COVID, and told me everyone is getting the same when in reality it's just blatantly false advertising. (2/10) Ham Chin Peng/ $5.00 Weak flavor, no fragrant (不香), greasy. Most importantly the texture of the food should be soft on the outside and fluffy on the inside, but their version is hard rock on the outside and clumpy doughy on the inside, it lacks the sweetness, savoriness, and the fragrant of the sesame seeds when it's done right traditionally. (3/10) Curry Fish Ball/ $7.75 It's cooked. But seriously, $8 for 8 small pieces of fish balls. It's probably size of a quarter, way too expensive for what it is. (7.5/10) Shrimp w/ Chives rice noodle Roll $9.45 This was actually not bad. Reasonably priced. Decently flavored, good texture, the shrimp is relatively fresh. Good, good. (4.5/10) Dough stick rice noodle roll $7.50 Even thought the Chinese dough stick is probably one of the better ones I've had in LA, meaning it doesn't have a weird oily scent (which many restaurants has), it suffers from being just a little bit too hard on the shell. You feel the hardness at the very end of the bite, it's not crunchy, it's hard. And although the sauce on top is pretty decent, it can be a little thick and get tired of at the end of dish. Personally, I'd rather have a little bit more of the peanut sauce on top. Last but not least, service. (3/10) The waiter was a young gentleman, but he gives of a "I don't really care about this job attitude", no eye contact, lazy tones. And when he serves the fish ball dish, he just kinda dropped it on the table, you can see the sauces rocking in the plate almost spilling out. Overall, if you just want the rice rolls, and the rice rolls only, and you can overlook the bad services, it's probably worth a visit. At your own risk. ( PS: of course, just like many Asian restaurants, they're cash only.)

Yelp
This is another hidden gem! We found this restaurant by accident and it was so good! We were a bit hungry but not ready for dinner, so we ordered a BBQ pork rice noodle roll for snack. It was so good that we ordered more food to try. Their congee was so smooth and flavorful; their bbq pork over rice was very authentic. We are definitely coming back for more. In my personal opinion, this place has the best rice noodle roll (chang fen) and congee!

Mike T.

Yelp
The Hong Kong style frozen milk tea is a straight up scam. They charged close to $7 for a cup, so I was expecting it to be served in a bowl with a bed of ice as shown in the menu. It wasn't, and I'm highly disappointed. I visited this chain in Toronto and when I ordered the milk tea, it was served in a bowl of ice so that the milk tea stayed cold without diluting the content. The chang feng is decent but overpriced. Our breakfast costed us a little under $100 for 5 people and we walked away hungry. Service is nonexistent, atmosphere is uncomfortable and I just can't recommend anyone to come here. I felt scammed, so dine at your own caution and remember to bring cash. I would recommend Mr. Champion in Arcadia instead

Yelp
When I visit Yin Ji Chang Fen, it's not just about their signature rice noodles; their beef offal dish is a must-mention too. The beef offal, meticulously selected and expertly cooked, melts in my mouth with rich, savory flavors in every bite. Paired with their exclusive homemade spicy sauce, it's a delightful mix of stimulating the taste buds while preserving the authentic essence of the dish. Each visit to Yin Ji is a culinary celebration. This place is not just about delicious food; it's about a passion for food and a commitment to quality. Whether it's their rice noodles or beef offal, each dish leaves an unforgettable taste, making me look forward to my next visit.

Yelp
Came here for a quick breakfast. This is pretty much a hole in the wall kind of place, but looked interesting enough to try. Ordered bbq pork roll, shrimp roll, and dough stick rice noodle roll (roll with Chinese doughnut). The noodle rolls were all made fresh and very thin and silky, but the sauce was a little on the bland side and the meats weren't that great. The bbq pork was a little dry and the shrimp was okay though. The best roll was the one with the dough stick. The dough stick was very crispy and made a great contrast to the silky rice roll. If the sauce had a little more flavor, it would be better. With that said, I would still come by and grab a quick breakfast if I didn't have time for a sit down breakfast, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get this.

Amy Y.

Yelp
This place was recommended by someone due to its authentic guangzhou style chang fen (rice noodle roll). Its located in a little eatery/shopping plaza. Seems very popular to locals because it gets busy. We ordered a few dishes to share and try out. -Braised beef brisket ($10) - chunky meats in a soupy based that you can put onto your rice. It was very flavorful. The meat was tender and moist. - Dough Stick ($3) - basic dish to get and eat with your jook. It was crispy and yummy. It's usually bland tasting but perfect when you dip it in the jook. - Lai wan congee - there were peanuts and lettuce. Savory with a crunch (peanuts). An item to order for breakfast. - Marinaded Pork and Beef with chives Noodle Roll - interesting that you can crack an egg on the top of it. The rice noodle was very thin. Sweet and savory flavor from the sauce. - Curry Fish Ball - The owner was generous and gave us some HK style curry fish ball to try. Not overly spicy with the curry. The fish ball was soft and chewy. Pricing was decent. The food was fresh and tasty. Service was great. Very welcoming.

Yelp

Yelp
They didn't have exactly what I was looking for but it was close enough. With me living in the Midwest, I'll take close enough. I got the R11 with some curry fish balls and a hot milk tea. I did not like the milk tea at all. It tasted like it was made from soy milk; I hate soy milk. I drank a fourth of it before pouring it down the drain. The food was good, but it would've been even perfect if I got plain noodles with the sauce from R11 and plain fish balls. Very expensive for what you get.

Elissa E.

Yelp
Great porridge and rice noodles! We go here often for breakfast and never disappointed

JoJo C.

Yelp
This place is gonna be a no for me. I don't hate it but I didn't like it either. There was nothing special and pricey for the portion. + Dough stick rice noodle roll: the Chinese donut was way too doughy, it was more like a bread than airy, crispy texture + Beef brisket stew with rice noodle roll: the rice noodle roll was fresh and thin, very flavorful + Peanut butter toast: I ordered this thinking it was the peanut butter french toast but it was just a toast with crunchy peanut butter spread. This was my fault though cause I didn't read carefully + Lai wan style assorted congee: The congee was made fresh, decent amount of ingredients but the taste was pretty bland + HK style frozen milk tea: Disappointing, it was served with no ice nor ice bucket to keep it cool. It was served in almost lukewarm temperature + Lemon tea: This looked and tasted more like lemon water than lemon tea One thing I noticed is that they serve everything (besides the congee) in to-go containers. They gave us to-go box lids as plates and the food came out in the container. I think it's smart that they did it this way, customers can just take the containers if they have leftovers.. but I do find it very wasteful.+

Yelp
I had the B2 BBQ Pork and Egg with Rice and Hong Kong Style Hot Milk Tea. Both were delicious. Their chili oil is good too if you like spicy.

Yelp
Yin Ji Chang Fen does specialty rice rolls, but for the price, it didn't really feel worth it. 3 rice rolls for two is sufficient with a drink. Our friend tried the rice bowl. Rice Roll, Beef Brisket (13.45) - you get 5 small pieces of beef and the roll is drizzled with a beef noodle-like broth. The beef cuts were extremely fatty with barely any meat. I was left wanting more especially for this price. Rice Roll, Pork + Shrimp (9.54) - they use small shrimps; there were probably 3 or 4 of them with a good amount of pork. The picture made it seem like the meat was on top, but they're actually wrapped in the roll. It's different from what you would get at dim sum since they were cuts of pork as opposed to ground meat. Same with the shrimp. Pretty good and worth it more than the brisket - I'd skip that entirely. Rice Roll, Chinese Doughnut (7.50) - nothing you can't find at dim sum for cheaper. Though, they use THICK and girthy doughnuts. It was actually pretty good and you get a sufficient amount to share with two people. The beef rice bowl (13.45) - was also pretty expensive, but my roommate liked it. He also got the milk toast (5) which was sweet and spongy. The hong kong style milk teas hot and cold tasted as expected. Good amount of sweetness. The venmo payment is funny - i made sure to include my check and table number in the description just in case.

Yelp
NASTY AWFUL FOODS DO NOT BUY HERE! 8/14/23 @11am ordered from Grubhub , opened the bag saw the foods and I need to reorder from other places . JUST LOOK AT MY PHOTOS I don't know what else to say. All foods threw to trash can and need to buy again. VERY ANGRY

Abby D.

Yelp
Very good comfort food that reminds me of home! Excellent service with extremely friendly staff. All items on the menu are delicious. But my fav other than the congees gotta be the 珍珠雞. I'd definitely come back whenever I'm in town!

Anson F.

Yelp
Great Service with Good food, very traditional Chinese style! BBQ pork with egg rice bowl~

Chanson H.

Yelp
This place really hit the spot. All the rice rolls were pretty good, and the porridge didn't skimp on the meat and ingredients. You write your order down with the provided piece of paper and pen using the item number on the menu. Food came out quickly and was satisfying. We ordered two porridges and two rice rolls. It was a filling and healthy meal. Although the door has all the credit card logos posted, and they work with all of the delivery apps, the waiter insisted that they are cash only.

Will A.

Yelp
Highly recommend this place for authentic Chinese food. They also have a great homemade spicy sauce which you can ask for if you like spicy!! The drinks are great too, I had the hk milk tea, friend had the lemon ice tea. Both great. It's also open quite late on Sunday which is handy. Very friendly, Chinese decorations on the walls.

It was my first time trying steamed rice roll and I must say this really hit the spot! We got the sweet corn and beef and shrimp rice roll and both were extremely delicious. I did prefer the texture from the sweet corn more but the beef and shrimp had lots of flavor. Would def come here again!

Yelp
Great rice noodle rolls. And the best part is that rice noodle is quite thin thus rendering the rolls lighter... it ain't easy finding rice rolls past the regular dim sum hours so this place is a gem!!!! And the hey have one in NYC too!

Yelp
this place is just OK. The thickness of the rice noodle is average, I tend to like mine thinner. The congee didn't have much flavor, so I added chili oil to it, there also wasn't a ton of meat in there. I would've preferred more. this is definitely one of those places where you go if you're in the mood and nearby but you don't have to seek it out. The cruller was over fried, so extremely crunchy - watch out!

Yelp
I rarely give 1 star reviews, but when restaurants are charging you different prices than the price on the menu, I'm not a happy camper. I'm not sure if the menu prices are outdated or what, but they charged us $1 extra on two things. We didn't notice it until after we left the restaurant or else we would've complained and gotten this corrected. My mom and I came by for lunch around 1 pm on a Saturday. First thing we noticed when looking at the menu was that lots of apps/snacks weren't available and that prices are handwritten for every single item instead of being printed. We had big dinner plans later and were hoping to share share one rice noodle roll with 1-2 apps, so it was disappointing so many apps weren't available. We ordered the R5, marinated pork and beef with chives, which is listed on the menu as $7.45, and added extra rice noodle for $2. The rice noodle roll was okay but because we added the extra rice noodle, it was quick thick. Portions were smaller than expected for the price. When I went to pay, I thought the price listed on the receipt ($12.42 with tax before tip) was higher than expected. After we left, I looked more carefully at the receipt in the car, and turns out they charged us $8.45 for the rice noodle roll and $3 for the extra rice noodle. I've attached my pictures of the menu and the receipt. I've had Yin Ji in China and loved it there, so I was quite disappointed by the deceiving menu prices here.

Yelp
This place was an absolute treat for Chang Fen dishes! I ate this when I was in China years ago, and this one is just as good, perhaps better as it is packed full with delicious ingredients! Our group of 9 tried nearly every rice roll on the menu for dinner. All of them were tasty and super fresh from the steamer. I liked the shrimp, beef, pork, and chinese sausage toppings. Be sure to add egg all over your rolls, or add extra meat! Make sure no matter what you order, finish off meal with the "dough stick rice noodle roll" which is crunchy, soft, steamy, savory, nuty, and sweet! Service by Sasha (sp?) was quick, recommendations were on point, and food hit the spot! Definitely would come back again!!

Yelp
Nice service and authentic Chang Fen. And I got a free lemon tea from the restaurant :)

Yelp
The service was fast and friendly, and the prices were reasonable. A great place to enjoy authentic Chinese cuisine.

Yelp
Small hole-in-the-wall place with delicious cheung fan. Went with a group of people and ordered a majority of the rice noodle dishes. Safe to say this place is great. I'd recommend: -Shrimp w/ Chives -BBQ Pork -Beef Brisket Stew -Dough Stick (personal favorite)

Yelp
Great little mom-and-pop congee (rice porridge) and dim sum place! So glad we ran into this little gem. We stayed at the Hilton San Gabriel. Had a hunkering for some dim sum to help with a slight hang over, so we needed a dim sum place that was going to hit the spot (you know what I mean fellow drunkards)! We looked on Yelp as usual, and found big popular places with 1000+ 4/5 star reviews. We had to choose one, but couldn't decide b/c of all the raving reviews. Some even said to anticipate long lines. We got in the car, drove out of the hotel parking garage on our way to one of these highly Yelped places, but as soon as we exited the parking garage, this little gem of a place was right in front of us this whole time, and yet it never made it to Yelp's top reviewed dim sum places so we never even considered it. We decided to give it a shot since it was literally right outside our hotel. We could've walked and it would've been faster LOL!! Soooo glad we tried it. everything was superb. Congee with century egg, rice noodle wraps with chicken liver, sticky rice wrapped in banana leaf...all were amazing. Oh and you must try their house iced tea! Yelp needs to do a better job of making sure places like these are featured b/c we could've missed all the yumminesssss from this little gem.

Yelp
The food quality was below average. Ordered 2 types of rice rolls, that was mediocre. The porridge was tasteless and so thick. The milk tea tasted like it came out of the instant packaging. And worst of all, the curry fishballs expensive & tasteless. We were just in their Vancouver location & had such a good experience there. I believe they are just using their name and defiantly not the same recipe. Very disappointing.

Yelp
Cash only! Thank goodness I chose to bring cash just in case of this situation! I was strolling in this area and wanted their morning breakfast items! Rice noodle roll for the win! Hot sauce was different with minced garlic and hot chili red peppers! Yum! First time experiencing this type of hot sauce! Usually it's just chili peppers! Other Cantonese speciality breakfast and lunch items available! They didn't have coffee nor coffee tea when I came by for takeaway! I didn't have enough cash for it anyways! Bummer.

Yelp
My family is from Guangzhou and my dad tried this place and LOVED it, so I wanted to give it a try as well. He said this is a chain in Guangzhou and that the flavors are very similar to the one he had back in China. This was my experience: Curry fish ball: 2.5/5. Cooked correctly and had a good bounce to the texture. Flavor was not great. The curry sauce was meh and it didn't permeate throughout the ball - tasted like it was poured on top at the last minute, not marinated. It was also fairly expensive at close to $7 for 8 balls. I won't order this again and you shouldn't either. Beef and shrimp rice rolls: 4/5. Authentic would be the right word. The rice roll was super soft and delicate, very slippery in the best way. The beef was super tender - most tender beef I've had in the 626. Sweet soy sauce that you pour on top was also perfect in terms of balance. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 was because it was just missing a little something to bring it to the next level. Char siu rice: 4/5. Char siu was pretty good - nice fat to meat ratio, flavor wasn't too sweet, great to eat with rice. The vegetable they include is regular lettuce and I wish it was choy sum instead. They also do not coat the rice with much sauce so it can get a little dry. The egg was cooked to perfection. I would say this dish was ALMOST there but needed a lot more sauce. Overall, it's definitely an authentic place and I would come again to try another rice roll and their congee. I don't know if they mention this anywhere but they asked for cash, not credit, when I paid.

Yelp
Very delicious. I go there every time I go to San Gabriel. People there are very nice!

Yelp
Small authenic cantonese style cafe located conveniently in San gabriel across from the 99 ranch. Service was friendly and quick. Coming from a restaurant owner myself. Food was authentic and well prepared. It's definitely a go-to spot when you are in the area for a delicious and authentic Chinese breakfast. Pi Dan congee, yu tiao and Cantonese milk tea was all great. Nothing I didn't like . You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Great food! Really enjoyed the pork and thousand year old congee. They use lean pork and it's super soft and flavorful. All the Chang fun is also excellent! Very fresh rice roll and flavorful inside. I recommend the shrimp and chives as well as the fried cruller roll. Curry fish ball and lotus leaf wrapped rice were also very tasty. All the food arrived quickly and service is friendly and fast.
