Yintang Spicy Hot Pot - Review - Duluth - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"Sitting adjacent to 9292 Shabu in Duluth would seem like an unlucky location. Yet, Yintang is (rightly) just as popular thanks to their $13.99/lb weigh-and-pay system, which works really well for tight budgets and quick dinners.Choose your proteins (we like the array of savory fishballs), veggies, and whatever ingredients you’d like from their buffet. Then weigh, and Yintang takes it from there, adding broth, cooking everything, and delivering it to your table or packing it to go. If you’re not a spice fan but still want something intensely flavored, their tomato broth is a good choice. Dry pot is also an option here if you want a more concentrated flavor." - Candy Hom

Google
My go to Duluth area hot pot/malatang. Love the thick potato starch noodles and the broth is nice, hearty, and with heat without being greasy like some places. Getting to choose your own ingredients is also great too! It’s nice to switch up the toppings! Oh, the marinated spicy beef is SOOO good by the way.

Google
Pretty neat place. You pick your items like hot pot but they cook and serve it to you. I’ll definitely come back when I’m craving noodles again

Mariya D.

Google
This was my first time having hotpot, and it was absolutely delicious! The selection was endless, and everything is priced by weight—$13/lbs. I had 1.5lbs of food, which included 2 servings of ramen and plenty of protein and toppings. With the large amount of options(including vegan), there is a possibility to overindulge but we all shared from one bowl! The best part is that you can customize the seasoning with Thai chilies, chili oil, fresh garlic and herbs, etc. Overall, a flavorful and satisfying experience—I’ll definitely be back!

Chad M.

Google
Food is good 👍 you can choose hot pot or dry pot. And there is a sauce bar with different choices. I did dry pot but I think hot pot would be more delicious after seeing others.

Google
Loved this unique experience. You go in, get assigned a table by the server, and then you get to make your own hotpot. You start by getting a bowl and a pair of tongs and there is a buffet of ingredients you can choose from and put in your bowl. There were a good mix of familiar and unique ingredients. I personally loved the large selection of mushrooms, baby corn and the kelp bows. There were also things like tripe, blood sausage, lamb, and fish cakes when I went. They also had a good selection of noodles, like ramen, vermicelli, rice and glass noodles. The pricing is done by weight. You choose a broth and they cook it for you in the back. They put it in a fancier bowl and get it to your table. The service was pretty fast. They also have a sauce bar if you want to add anything to your pot. You pay at the counter after your meal. The pricing was affordable compared to the large portion size, and it's a good place to bring both adventurous people and people who stick with their comfort foods.

Google
We had our first hot pot experience and found it fascinating to select fresh ingredients from a wide array of noodles, vegetables, and proteins to create our own customized bowl. Pricing is based on weight, and you have the option to choose a soup base or go for a stir-fry preparation. Once cooked, the bowls are delivered to the table, and there's also a condiment bar where you can add spices, hot chili, and other seasonings to enhance the flavors. The food was delicious, the staff was warm and welcoming, and the restaurant maintained a clean and inviting atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would highly recommend it to others!

Google
This place is totally a scam place! Guys be careful when you order from third party, they don’t give you correct amount! I ordered 1.5 pound on first one, it turns out 0.91lb(with box and sauce!!!) Another one was 2.5 pound, and it’s 1.66lb (with box and sauce!!!!) this place is a scam place. Don’t go there

Mr. J.

Google
13.99lb that's a bit pricey and there's another place around the corner that's cheaper with that being said be careful how much food you put in your bowl. My bowl was 27 dollars and I didn't have very many items in it. The base to my soup was really good and the add ons made it better. I did enjoy it and recommend but again bw mindful of the weight fet a little at a time and weigh it.
google avatar

Yelp
The best malatang spot in Duluth! There's no weight minimum to start off! They prefer cash, so if you pay in cash you get a chance to get a free drink or a very discounted drink like tea. The selections here are wonderful and anything you could want on it is here to grab. Their broth is very flavorful, but if you're sensitive to oil be aware, if you can get past it you're in for a treat! Come visit! I'd recommend, it's a favorite place amongst my peers

Yelp
I've always wanted to try hotpot, but was never sure where they would have veggie broths and I am so glad I stumbled across this place. There was a wide variety of tofu, noodles and veggies. We got the tomato broth which was all vegan and after you weigh your bowl, they take it and cook all your ingredients in it. You get a complimentary yakult to go with your meal as well. There's also a sauce bar where they have things like sesame paste, garlic, soy sauce etc for you to customize for your bowl. Loved the experience and the portion sizes are massive! I loved drinking water out of the steel cups (everything just feels more refreshing that way). Super yummy, would come back!

Yelp
I've been craving Taiwanese hot pot and was so happy we came upon this place. I love that they have more broth options than other places. The selection of food was excellent, but would be superb if they offered watercress. At $13.99 per lbs it is a bit more expensive than the other places, but I still highly recommend it. This is now my new favorite spot to get Taiwanese hot pot.

Yelp
Yintang genuinely have a special place in my heart. The employees are all so kind, accommodating, generous and most of all, accepting. Food is always prepared quickly, and they serve the entire table all at once so no one ever feels left out. Portion is amazing, food options are great and the flavor is incredible. 10/10

Yelp
This restaurant is in the corner middle section of Kroger shopping center. It's set up with open seating and you pick your items at the front checkout counter. It's like a Self serve style hot pot. Where you pick your ingredients and then you pick your sauce or broth. For the broth, they only had two flavors spicy or tomato broth. And then you can also pick your spice level, spicy, medium or mild. Or you can make the dry version almost like a stir-fry, if you're not feeling like something brothy. Even though the broth/sauce was limited. It still tasted pretty good. After you hand, pick all your ingredients they weigh your ball and that's how they charge you. It is 13.99 per pound. They give you a number and you tell them which table number you are seated at. They will cook your ingredients and bring it to your table. After you eat, you go back to the counter and pay for your meal. Which I thought was a little odd. It's probably easier flow for them to just go ahead and weigh your item and charge you right then in there without you having to go back to pay. It's pretty much like self serve so not much interaction with the waiters. Overall good concept. We've tried many restaurants that are similar concept in this one is done well. Would recommend it if you wanted something quick to eat and fulfilling without having to do all you can eat hot pot and feeling bad afterwards.

Yelp
This hot pot spot has a wide variety of toppings/inclusions that you can add to a bowl and then choose your soup base as well as spice level. You are able to customize your hot pot and pay by the weight. I was disappointed by the dry pot as it was just steamed/boiled ingredients with a thick sauce that you mix in. I was expecting the ingredients to be stir fried with the sauce.

Yelp
Grab a bowl and some tongs as you build your own hotpot. Huge selection of ingredients and the workers were not only friendly but helpful. It was my first time and it was a pretty smooth experience. Both the broth and dry hotpot were the same price and if you get to 1.5lbs and pay in cash you can get a free canned drink. After you weigh and choose your option, you sit and wait for your food. After the meal, I received a probiotic drink and paid at my table. All the ingredients were well kept and organized. I ordered the dry pot and the sauce was leaning towards the peanut butter flavor profile. I had different expectations but it was still good. My lady got the broth hotpot and said she enjoyed it. The heat lacked for her but the bone broth was so rich had depth to it. This place is very spacious and the workers seemed on top of everything.

Yelp
Really good and convenient choose your own ingredients hot pot! Its similar to others like YGF, but I like this one more because they have sacha sauce and give you a yogurt drink at the end which is a nice touch. I also personally like a few of their topping options better, like the shrimp fortune dumplings and the noodle choices. Otherwise the options are pretty standard, with beef, lamb, pork, and the usual fish balls and veggies. If your weight is over 2.5lb, they also give you a free soft drink.

Yelp
I enjoyed the food here! It was very confusing as it was my first time here. But I just looked at what other people were doing. You come in and go to the front to get a clean bowl and tongs. And you go down the line and pick what you want in your bowl. There's a decent selection of different proteins, vegetables, and noodles. I really liked the tofu, noodles, and fish balls. You add what you want in your bowl and then the staff will weigh your bowl. Then you select which broth you want. There's tomato and spicy beef. I chose the tomato and they gave me a ton of broth. The staff takes your bowl back to cook all the ingredients in the soup. You get a receipt (keep the receipt to pay at the end). After your food is done cooking, the staff brings it to your table. The makeshift sauce bar is near the doors. It's very limited and mostly just containers on trays of ice. But I had no complaints as it had all my favorite basics. I like a lot of minced garlic, green onion, sesame paste, soy sauce, and chili oil. If you are expecting a more extensive and fancy sauce bar, you may be disappointed however. Staff were nice. They gave me a TON of broth so I had sooo much broth leftover. I think it may be because most people get the beef broth so they had a lot of extra tomato broth to give me. This is a different type of hot pot, more like malatang style. If you like hot pot, this is an interesting and new place to try. I think I still prefer hot pot places where I can cook everything separately myself in different broth bases.

Yelp
-setup looked clean -friendly and VERY fast service -they give u free mini yogurt drink -level 3 was not super spicy but level 4 was hella spicy; needs better in between -good amount of toppings and price is pretty cheap -food came out quickly -would give 3.65 stars; would come again -warning: soup is a little oily

Yelp
If you love ramen and want to try new ingredients this is the place! Everything is made fresh to order! You grab a bowl and start adding the raw ingredients you want to add to your soup. The price is $13.99 per lb, if it goes over you pay a little more, so choose wisely! I pre-planned ahead I wanted a tofu seafood veggie combo. I noticed some ingredients I never tried before and was curious to try! There are over 70 ingredients to choose from. We got to the broth option and I wish they had a clear broth instead of the miso based broth, it was a bit salty. I saw there was a no broth option, which would make a great stir fry. They cook the food and arrived very fast. It was fun to search for your ingredients under the broth. Great experience, I'm not sure this can be ordered ahead of time if it was an online order. It's better to eat it hot and dine in person.

Yelp
Honestly great concept and not bad. I love how many options of ingredients they have. I got the dry pot version and the sauce and flavor was great. All the ingredients were perfectly cooked. I think it's a bit pricey for the amount of food you get but otherwise the food tastes great here. Good service as well

Yelp
Yum!! This is a great place if you want a quick and flavorful meal! I believe it opened a few months ago and i've already been a couple of times. The selection is great and the prices are fair, I usually only pay $15~ and walk out FULL. The sauce bar is small but it has all the essentials. The food comes out quick as well. It is also great to get To-go!!
google avatar

Jenny H.

Yelp
A customizable and authentic malatang experience! You can choose from a wide selection of fresh veggies, seafood, meat, and more, all $13.99/lb. The spice levels are adjustable, and you can also create your own dipping sauce at the self-serve station! Love it!

Yelp
I've had my fair share of AYCE hotpot, but this was the first time I've had it self serve. The $20 lunch special was enticing, especially when they do it any day of the week including weekends. TLDR its great value hotpot (especially with seafood), but I'd take your SO or parents to somewhere upscale for a special date. I came in 1pm on a weekday, and it was surprisingly packed. There weren't enough tables for solo diners, so I was seated with a few other people around a large party table. The appetizers were great. I had the takoyaki balls, crispy doughy goodness with little pieces of octopus interspersed. I got two orders of them, probably well worth the price alone. The meat selections were a little limited. Basically you had 3 options, lamb, brisket, and pork belly. Lamb is usually my preferred meat for hotpot, but for some reason the meat here is a bit tough? Maybe that or the cuts are thicker than I prefer. I usually like more marbled/fat content than normal, and the lamb slices they have here are a bit brittle, not the thin ribbons you expect. The brisket was a different story, probably a little too fatty for most people but had the best balance of fattiness and meatiness. The veggie selections were a bit better, a full range of different leafy greens (including my favorite chrysanthemum leaves which are hard to find), as well as frozen seafood (mussels, shrimp, etc) which you can't really beat for lunch AYCE. My only complaint is I wish they had more fish ball offerings, like stuffed, Naruto spiral, etc. They also had complimentary canned drinks available. Overall great value hotpot, but quality left much to be desired. Service was a little hit or miss, I had to flag down the waitress a couple times to order apps.

Yelp
This review is longggggggg overdue so I'm going to make this one count! For those following my Yelp journey, as usual thanks for tapping in and for those who are new to this type of stuff, keep on reading and I'll put you on some game. Where it all began for me...Arcadia, CA. I lived literally across the street from this location and my Wife was in loveeeeee with this hot pot place, this is a complete understatement when I say love! I could easily say for 1 year straight we ate it 1-2 times weekly, family of 5 meaning we spent an average of $70-80 per visit, $150/weekly, $600/monthly, $7000+ in that first year! We had so many damn stamp cards I think the owner considered just Net 30 billing us. For those familiar with the Southern Cali area, we lived in a 90% Asian city which was also surrounded by other Asian cities so saying Yingtang is a top contender is saying it all! The business model is great and straight to the point, simplicity wins. Just like at a buffet, you grab yourself a bowl, choose your meats, veggies and so on then tell the lady your spice level, that's it! Gotta love my Chinese people and how they get straight to the point of getting you from the beginning of the line to handing them money :) Fast forward to 2024, I moved to GA with my Wife...as an Asian man spending 99% of my life in Cali I knew I was doomed when it came to culture and food choices in GA, yeah yeah everyone keeps telling me how "diverse" GA is but it's all bologna. Here's the thing, I trusted my God that he was bringing me to a new state for a new chapter of my life, so I had to trust the process. Just months after moving here when we found out 7 leaves Cafe (which is literally up the street) built a location in GA! What in the holy jumping Jesus, go check out my 7 leaves review you won't believe it either! But thennnnn, thennnnnnn my Wife like many women happen to be scrolling through Instagram looking for food and how to spend their money and damn near loses her shit when she found out Yingtang arrived to GA also, what's the chances! 7 leaves was one thing but YingTang, nah that is evidence for God! For those thinking, man stop Cappin! You were probably paid to write this review, nah, I got receipts and here is one of them. I've literally attached a video of the day my Wife found out about this location, there's a dancing portion to it where she starts break dancing and actually left work early that day so we could go eat there to verify it was the same place, yes I'm not lying! Look, the food is great! The value is great! $13.99/Lb (prices are subject to change and I'll let you know when they do because my Wife will notice) the vibes are great! Staff is super attentive and nice and the owner Stephen is super dope too. Oh lastly, I get it...it's kinda intimidating being non Chinese or Asian for that fact and walk into a very "Asian" restaurant, for all the non Asians I promise you it's worth visiting, dont skip leg day and don't skip the chance of having the best hot pot in the Atlanta area. If I'm wrong just email Stephen, unfortunately I don't deal with complaints :) So my family and I have an inside joke every time my Wife takes us to eat here, our inside joke is that Stephen drives a Supra and every time he sees us walk in he goes to the back room and starts ordering parts for it because once again the amount of times we come here he is going to easily have a 900hp Supra built in no time. On a serious note, this place is absolutely worth the hype, let Stephen know his buddy Mike from California brought you and your family in, he'll treat you right cus he's never done my family wrong

Yelp
Amazing! I discovered them in San Diego and frequented both locations. I'm so happy they have a location here. Please open one in Roswell. I'll still travel the 40 minutes for this amazing food they offer. This is my perfect hot pot experience and look forward to many more! They have everything you want and do it perfectly. PS: Add skewers to the menu like Mira Mesa.
google avatar

Leilani S.

Yelp
First time eating here and it was delicious! This is a great way to make a hot pot bowl to your liking. The range of toppings available was pretty great, and with the price of $13.99 per pound is absolutely worth it! I got the beef bone broth with medium spice and it was great. Some toppings included: bok choy, fried tofu, spinach, broccoli, enoki mushrooms, beef brisket (?), bean sprouts, and rice cakes. The broth wasn't overwhelmingly spicy, but it did have significantly more flavor than the mild. Service was great too, with our server constantly refilling our (alkaline) water as needed. Yintang is sure to become part of my rotation for hot pot!

Yelp
Went here at 3pm on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch. It's located by Kroger in the old Rudy's NY Pizza location. It was empty except for one other table. It's nicely decorated on the inside and has lots of room available. I was greeted by the cashier who invited me to pick a table. The instructions are on the board overhead in Chinese, English, and Korean. The sign also says "1.5 pounds per order cash free soda". Grab a bowl and tongs, pick from the buffet, tell the cashier what base you want (beef, vegan, or dry) , weigh your bowl, and you're done. The selections are immense compared to some other places. Since you pay by weight be use caution. Some items like corn on the cob are tasty but are a bad deal since a lot of the weight is not edible. I asked for mine extra spicy since they didn't have a numbering system. The condiment bar has all the usual sauces and oils for you to make your own. I decided to mix a bit of the pepper oil (assuming it was Sichuan pepper), sesame oil, and some salt. That had a nice citrus front with an expected sesame back. Food was out in about 5-10 minutes and it was not boiling hot. No cool down time needed. The broth was excellent. Enough heat to be flavorful but not any noticeable mala numbing sensation. Extra spicy is like medium or hot elsewhere. This place is a winner for the selection and the price. I hope they last longer than the other places that moved in after Rudy's moved up the street.

Yelp
So basically it's a DIY noodles bowl. You picked whatever you wanted for your bowl. They sell by weight $13.99/lb. Drink is not come with it about $2-3/ drink You can pick the spicy level. Service is good Def will be here again
google avatar

Yelp
It's like frozen yogurt meets hot pot (but no frozen yogurt. Just the fact that you get charged by the weight so be careful how much you're adding!) It's a bit confusing when you first come in because no one is there to greet you (think they're just understaffed atm). But you'll get seated at one of the tables and then you go up to the front to grab a bowl and tongs. You do use the same tongs to pick up EVERYTHING. Not sure if this is the most sanitary. You pick whatever you want in the bowl and then they weigh it ($13.99 per lbs). You get to pick from 3 broths and they cook it in the back and bring it to you. You pay after you're done eating. There's a lot of options to choose from! Ranging from different meats/seafood to veggies and even fried egg. I definitely overfilled mine due to excitement sooo be careful. Then you get to choose from 3 types of broth: spicy beef bone, spicy tomato (this can be not spicy), and spicy mix. I went with the spicy beef bone and my mom went with tomato not spicy. Both were pretty good! Really good flavor! The sauce bar? A little lacking but I actually don't mind. They have your typical green onion, cilantro, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, sesame sauce, sacha sauce, and vinegar. Because the broth is pretty flavorful and everything just soaks it up, I feel like you don't really need the sauce but for my sauce lovers out there, it's a little sparse. If you're paying with cash, you get a free soda (not sure if this is just promotional due to just opening or forever). Not sure if I prefer this over traditional hot pot but I would come back if I wanted something in a hurry but also kinda like hot pot.
google avatar

Helen W.

Yelp
I really liked it, and they have some interesting ingredients options. It definitely opened my eyes to the fact that AYCE at other hotpot places is NOT a good deal for me. This place also seems less healthy than other hotpot places as their soups have added milk or creamer to them. Unfortunately, the vegan soup bases are all no spice level with no option to add any even though the menu says they are spicy. It doesn't affect me personally, but my friend who doesn't eat pork or beef was disappointed.
google avatar

Sophie L.

Yelp
You can choose the ingredients to add to your pot as well as the portion of it. Then lastly choose your soup base, which in my case I chose something light. It's a good spot if you are craving some sort of hot pot!

Stephanie G.

Yelp
So yummy!!!! I love coming to this place, they have a variety of ingredients and the staff are calm and patient!!
google avatar

Angela P.

Yelp
Overall the food was great, service was quick, however the process of creating your bowl needs to be reworked. You grab your own bowl and own pair of tongs, which is used to pick up the ingredients you want. This means the tongs you use to pick up raw meat or seafood subsequently gets into the other ingredients. The raw meat and seafood are also the first items in the line so inevitably everyone choosing those ingredients are contaminating the rest of the ingredients down the line. My suggested solution is having individual tongs for each item, or putting the meat and seafood last and vegetables first. Of the two broth options, the tomato broth comes with no spice level, which is confusing since the menu on the wall behind the cashier literally says spicy under the tomato broth picture. Also, the sauce bar is very limited but has everything I wanted, and the chili oil at every table was a plus.

Patrick C.

Yelp
This is my new favorite hot pot spot. You choose whatever toppings you want and then the broth and they whip it up real quick. I got Japanese ramen noodles with beef bacon quail eggs cilantro a bunch of mushrooms and other stuff in bone broth. Definitely coming here whenever I'm hungover.
google avatar

Jennifer H.

Yelp
This broth is SO GOOD! Apparently it's a chain out of the SGV, where you choose what goes in your pot and you pay by the weight. The choices are extensive, and it can feel overwhelming, but everything is good. I even was able to get some of my favorites like taro and blood cake! Service is quick and the servers are so nice and helpful.
google avatar

Yan X.

Yelp
Have beaf, lamp, shrimp and vegetables. Looks spicy, but not that spicy. Tasty. Soup can drink.
google avatar

WanWen W.

Yelp
They have an extensive selection of veggies, protein, and carbs. I ended up picking too much food. The mixed one can be a bit spicy, though we chose medium hot. And the bone broth is flavorful and not salty at all. Services is attentive.
google avatar

Qiang W.

Yelp
It's Very good taste, will back again.i love it. The new store has a clean environment and is very delicious. I will come again.
google avatar

Anthony Z.

Yelp
Pretty good hot pot spot. Fully customizable with a buffet bar with lots of fresh meats and vegetables. Individual portions and they cook up everything you pick out in the back for you. You get to choose your broth options and spice levels. First of its kind in Duluth, so props to them! They had some issues speaking English but I was able to communicate well enough with them. Soup was delicious and flavorful. Super affordable and you can just pick out exactly how much you want to eat. Will probably be back whenever I'm in the area.
google avatar

Kat S.

Yelp
Easy self service bar with lots of options to choose from. Everything tastes fresh and the pricing is very reasonable at $13.99/lb. Just have to be mindful of how much you have in your bowl before getting weighed lol. They even give you a stamp card for each visit with the weight of your bowl and after 10 lbs stamped, you can redeem a free 1 lb meal. Definitely recommend trying this place out!

Yelp
Great food and convenient location. The food is fresh and soup is above par. This is the first time we visit the newly opened hotpot location. One thing we like about the food, is that you don't feel thirsty afterwards, which is a good sign.

Yelp
New restaurant in town and is a very popular street food form. The soup is rich and have different choice of spicy levels.
