Yunnan Rice Noodles Are Trending in SGV Right Now | Eater LA

"A build-your-own spicy Taiwanese hot pot concept where diners select ingredients from multiple bars and then have the assembled selection weighed for pricing—an assembly-and-weigh service reminiscent of self-serve frozen-yogurt spots." - Jim Thurman

Custom make-your-own individual hotpot. A neighborhood staple for me. Grab anything you want from the ingredients bar, put it on the scale, pay per weight, and choose a soup base. I personally always get the house special bone broth at extra spicy. It's not that spicy and the flavor is just so good. 😋👌🌶️ (ps, there's even a sauce bar!)

Google
This place is right by my grandma’s favorite bao spot. So let’s see if they’re pretty good eh or ew. It’s a malatang spot and I came with my friends. Doesn’t seem like it had as much variety as other spots I’ve been to. They did have a sauce station too so I got me a butt ton of garlic. The food came out fast and I got their beef broth which was decently savory. The noodles weren’t cooked all the way through tho and everything else was just ok. Overall this place eugh.

I Was invited by my co-workers to YinTang Hot Pot, we when in the morning at 11am ,the place was empty so we had the place to are self lol so we were enjoying are time , we got are plastic bowl ,started selecting are ingredients and placing It in are bowls , I liked the idea that we can select are own ingredients to are own hot pot, once your done selecting the ingredients you go to the front and they will weight your bowl and charger you by the weight , they will ask you if you want your hot pot soup non-spicy, medium spicy or spicy. Once they take your bowl , you go make your own sauce they have a few sauce selections for you to mix and make your own sauce. Like that you can enjoy it with your hot pot, I know there's a people that wouldn't know what ingredients to mix to make theor sauce, so they should have to a few pre-mix sauces just incase the customers just want to get a sauce quick. But the experience on making your own sauce was good for me. I will recommend you guys to come by and try it out , especially of you like hot pot 😏👌

This restaurant offers a great variety of vegetables, some seafood such as shrimps, sliced fish, fish tofu. Sliced beef and lamb. You pick your foodstuffs and soup base. The food is charged by weight, $13.99 per pound.

Google
A very different kind of hot pot where there is no flame or stove to boil your pot. Simply choose your veggies, meat, and noodles from the counter and bring it to the cashier for weighing. The cost is $13.99 per pound. If the bowl weighs 1.5 lbs or higher and if you pay in cash, you get a free drink (can soda or tea). The server will take your bowl to the kitchen and cook your meal, and bring it back within 5-10 minutes. I like this instead of the traditional hot pot where the whole pot is a preset menu, no customization. This new create-your own hot pot gives you more option of what you want in your bowl, similar to those ayce hot pot restaurants. What I like about this restaurant is that it's similar to an ayce restaurant at $13.99 per lbs instead of a fixed cost. If you want to eat light, just pick what you want, and your bowl will be prorated. I like this business model. By the way, the beef broth is so flavorful and delicious. They also offer a tomato both. You have the option to customize your spice level for your broth. Loyalty/ rewards card is available. If you're not offered one, just ask for it. Buy 10 bowls, get the 11th free. I forgot to get 4 stamps for our last visit. Be sure to yours stamped. This is our new hot pot place to go now. We'll be back soon. There's a parking in the back. Street parking is also available on Garvey or the adjacent street. Enjoy your hot pot/ bowl.🙂

Google
There was a line to dine in. We probably waited 20 min. The soup is OK, but not as flavorful as some of the other hotpot places I’ve been to. I asked for spicy, but it wasn’t very spicy. The ingredients are fresh, and constantly restocked. I probably won’t return. Our friend got rice, and it was very very mushy and soggy. Service is Ok depending on who you talk to. One guy in particular was having a bad day.

Google
Order 2.5 big bowl . The soup and temperature is good. I misunderstood that the place has hot pot on the table. They cooked for your ingredients with their soup base. Fresh food and not need to loss a lot of food in Ayce. Eat whatever you can .

Google
Simple delicious and fast dining option. You grab whatever you want, they weigh it and you pay for it, cafeteria/self serve yogurt style but for hot savory food.

Yelp
Can't beat the price! $13.99/lb and they take the bowl off the weight. Packed, but quickly got through the wait. Parking right in front of the place. Looks like there might be a way to get in from the back. The number one soup base mild was great, very little numbing but great flavor. The beef and bacon were great. I'll be sure to get double the yam noodles and veggies next time. But avoid the tied noodles. Good musicals level, hard surfaces and open hair make the sound carry from other tables. The chairs are comfortable. Service is quick and helpful. Guy was hussling trying to clean tables, floor was a bit dirty. Bathroom was dirty. Will be back!

Yelp
I am a malatang enthusiast so I've been looking for new spots to try all over 626. Yintang was a very solid spot. I judge the place based on the depth of the soup flavor and the bone broth was amazing! I got medium but it wasn't that spicy so I will try spicy next time. The ingredients were fresh and had a good selection, as well as a full sauce bar. I especially loved the mochi tofu thing and quail eggs! Service was overall fast and nice.

Yelp
I was in the area for work so I wanted to get this spot (I frequent the one in Irvine) and I'm a little disappointed :( the menu is different compared to Irvine. I normally get the original malatang or tom yum and the one they have here is beef broth base and hot/sour soup which wasn't even sour. Also, they give HALF the amount of broth that Irvine does. Broth flavor is ok. Selection of meats & veggies are the same. Irvine gives our wonton chips and also has a bigger menu with appetizers... I think I prefer there better. Can't complain about cleanliness & service - quick and efficient!

Yelp
Solid Malatang place! Came here on a Saturday night and it was pretty packed. You gather your own ingredients and they weigh it for your price. Solid selection of sides and noodles but only two options for meat. Soup bases were also good. We were able to try all of them since we all got different bases. They have the typical beef broth flavors but also have a vegetarian one and dry one! Great place to eat if you're vegetarian. For spice I don't like mala so I got their medium which was perfect. Definitely will be coming back! PS. They do have a restroom but it's a small one located in the back exit.

Yelp
I do not know why I have never tried this place as it seems to be around for a while now. Our friend introduced is to this being major fan of hot pot but we always went to AYCE. This is pretty much similar concept although not an AYCE or old fashion way of eat as you cook. So this concept may not be enticing to the old fashion hot pot goers. A positive is for people who prefers to cook everything at once and slowly enjoy and those who do not care to eat too much yet love the variety, this place is definitely for you!! They go by wt per lb at the end. My only other downside is I hopes they had more soup options such as blander options especially when im used to dipping my selections with blander soup base: their soups are quite heavy and flavorful where there is no need to dip any sauces but it defeats the purpose of a true hot pot. But heavy soup plus sauces is a bit overwhelming but speaking for myself as I do see many love the overly abundance of flavors. Owners if you are seeing this, if you can please consider 1-2 additional blander soup broth options that would be amazing!

Yelp
First time ever having malatang soup. What a great experience! It's similar to hot pot style soup but it's not AYCE. Rather, you pick as much ingredients you want ranging from meats, veggies, etc. Then, you're charged based in the weight of what you've selected. Lastly, you select what style of broth. Went with the spicy beef broth. The deep bold flavors are so different than any other soup I've had before. Definitely recommend YinTang!!!

Yelp
My FAVORITEEEE malatang place (and I've tried a lot of them!!!) Yintang never does me dirty and their soup is rich and really hits the spot. Medium spicy is perfect where there's a slight kick but it's still completely drinkable (and I have a spicy dipping sauce on the side) In comparison to other places around here, much less greasy compared to YGF where it's loaded with chili oil and has wayyyy more flavor than Big Way where it's bland/watery. Zhangliang I just didn't like the peanut paste they were slapping on and the soup base wasn't hitting... so anyways Yintang my love. The variety is really nice and pricing is super reasonable. AND there's a huge lot in the back so easy parking! Just go in from the back entrance instead of walking all the way around the lot. They also have a stamp card where it's every 10 POUNDS get 1 pound off! Not every 10 visits!!! So if you're loading up your bowl you actually hit it pretty quickly and they're always really good at telling you hey you qualify for the discount and will go ahead and apply it for you. Also if you hit 1.5 lbs (or was it 1 lb?) and pay cash, you'll get a free beverage (soda or green tea or plum juice) Also they have the PERFECT japchae sized glass noodle where it doesn't disintegrate into the soup and it's my absolute fav. They also have the thick wide glass noodles here too btw if that's your thing. Just lots of love for my favorite malatang place!!!

Yelp
Good for vegetarians as well since they have tomato base and veggies. BE careful when you grab because it might not look like alot but it will be. But at least you can take home leftovers. If your bowl ends up over a certain amount I think you get a free drink. They have a variety of items that you can add onto your bowl. Free for all so you pick and choose what you like :) Service was really good. They ran out of beef and when I turned to ask they went and refilled it right away. I guess beef is popular. You can pack sauce Togo in their containers.

Yelp
Wow. Wow. I walked by this place about a week ago when I was heading to t- kebab and it looked great. Fast-forward to this week, I finally got to try this delicious and comforting hot pot restaurant. The place was packed when I first walked by as it was today. However, the wait was not too long and we got to get our own bowl and choose whatever ingredients we wanted then the bowl gets weighed ($13.99 lb) as we choose our broth. My friend and I both got the number one (medium is not spicy but had moments of mouth numbing which is fun) and it was quite delicious. You get to make your own sauce with all the yummy aromatics, chili, oils, etc. and that was just perfection. It was a very good deal for what you get and we took the broth home to continue the enjoyment. So nice for a cold night. It's more of a self-serve type place however, they do make your soup for you once you choose all your ingredients. You get left alone to enjoy yourself until you're ready to get more or pay. The restaurant ambience is great for families, friends and those dining alone. Music is at a good level and seating is far enough away from others. I'm a big fan!

Yelp
TLDR: Plan how much food you want, and then nearly HALF it. You can always grab more, but you can't put it back - though you can to-go it. At ~$15/lb, you can expect to spend around $30 for a very large bowl of a build-your-own hot pot. Great concept, pricey experience. Thankfully, their broths aren't as heavily flavored, so it's easy to adjust to your preference. Note: Whether the bowl's weight counts towards the weight is unclear. Would have liked more clarity on this or if it was "averaged" out. - - - - - - Parking at YinTang is fairly easy either on the street or in their small parking lot at the back. YinTang is your classic build-your-own hot pot experience, with a wide selection of items from veggies to meats - and of course, sauces. Everything was as expected, including their sauces - love the garlic, sesame and onion combo! Once you finish loading up your bowl with your ingredients, you have a small selections of broths. My favorite of those was the tomato, so I always get the tomato broth. Ingredients wise, there was a fair amount. What's unique is you pay AFTER eating (vs before at some places), and it is approximately $15/lb. There was no pre-taring to exclude the weight of the bowl, of course. Overall, I ended up with nearly 1.97 lbs of food despite not being too hungry. My eyes were wide. Stuffed? Surely!

Yelp
I love this chain! It is a build your own hotpot restaurant where you get to grab all the ingredients you like in your hotpot and they will add a broth of your choice. Never disappointed at a yintang. Particularly, I liked how this yintang had a scale right before you give your bowl to the cashier. This allows customers to see exactly how much they bowl weighs which can be useful! I did notice they don't have a curry soup broth at this location, wondering if they ran out or each location just decides which to offer. Anyways, I ordered the classic spicy beef broth. I love the wood ear mushroom and their popping roe fishballs! They have quality ingredients and I appreciate their variety when it comes to meats, veggies, noodles. They also have a sauce bar where you make your own dipping sauce and that is amazing as well! I Always enjoy me some comforting hotpot and this hits the spot every time! This location has plenty of seating and parking in the back lot. Would definitely come here again whenever I am in a hotpot mood hehe!

Yelp
This is my favorite DIY hotpot place!!! They have such a wide variety of veggies and meat. The soup base is also really tasty! Service is usually fairly quick here too. I also love that they have a diy sauce station, free of charge and you can even take some to go! Would recommend checking this place out if you haven't been!
google avatar

Kimberly M.

Yelp
Love the food here. They have a great variety for your soup from fish balls, mushroom, beef, lamb, Chinese cabbage, sausage and so much more. The soup base is yummy and taste like a miso tonkastu base and your can choose your spice level. I just do to think at 13.99lb is a high price point. You can easily serve yourself too much when they give you a big bowl.

Yelp
my friend recently introduced me to this restaurant and i was a bit hesitant because i was under the impression that they used szechuan for their spice but i was completely wrong! the second i stepped into the store, an amazing beef scent hit my nose & i knew this meal was not going to disappoint. after reading the instructions, i learned that the restaurant charges per pound (~$13/lb). they also allow you to weigh your bowl prior to paying. we were promptly given a table and went straight to the bar to select our hot pot items. they had three large serving areas filled with many options to choose from. from tofu to beef to taro and even fish cake filled with mochi, this place had it all. after selecting my items, i handed my bowl to the cashier and sat down at my table. there were 4 different soup flavors to choose from + 6 different spice levels. my bowl was delivered to the table in about 5-8 mins & it was steaming hot! the broth had a lot of flavor. my only complaint is that my tofu skin wasn't cooked completely & was still a bit hard. other than that, everything was cooked and delicious. i highly recommend this restaurant to anyone interested in hotpot! 10/10 amazing!

Yelp
As a picky eater, this restaurant is like heaven to me as you get to select your own ingredients and essentially build your own soup bowl. I always get the sweet potato noodles, beef brisket, sausage, squid, quail eggs, bak choy, taro knots, and mochi fish cake. They have a wide variety of protein, noodles, and vegetables to choose from. You build your own bowl (like buffet style), and then, they charge you by the pound ($13.99 per pound). You have the choice for your ingredients to be cooked as a stir fry, in tomato broth, or beef broth (could be adjusted to different spice levels). I love their spicy beef broth, and their tomato broth always hits the spot and tastes very healthy. They bring the food to your table when it is finished cooking, and you pay at the counter when you finish eating. There is also a sauce bar with a lot of ingredients as well, but it is frankly not needed as the broth already has a rich flavor. They also offer stamp cards so that for every 10 pounds of food you order, you will be rewarded with a free 1 pound bowl! The waiters are very attentive towards each table and very kind. Food is prepped quick, and it is quite clean and spacious inside. I've never had to wait for a table, but I will say, they do get busy during dinner times on weekends. Overall, I love this place!

Yelp
Not the traditional jazz cat, haidilao, or the ayce types of hotpot's but still one of favorites. You grab a giant bowl. It's self serve so you gather the ingredients you want and they charge by pound which is not too bad. You'd be surprised how little it weighs even though you put so much food in the bowl. Then you choose a broth from 4 different ones and choose the spice level. My favorite is spicy hot pot broth. Very chill place to hang and eat if you want some warm soup belly.
google avatar

Alicia L.

Yelp
Compared to other restaurants with the same concept, it's not my favorite, but it's also not bad! They have the standard selection of ingredients and service is always really good. I find that the ingredients aren't prepared as well (look really frozen or large tough stalks on vegetables) as other spots, or sometimes don't look as fresh. Otherwise I really like the dry mix pot here because it's more peanutty and flavorful than other dry mix pots that are just spicy. What I don't like is that anytime I get noodles with my bowl, they are overcooked and mushy, which doesn't normally happen at other spots because they probably put it in later rather than all at the same time.
google avatar

Airi G.

Yelp
I love the concept of Yin Tang since it's so customizable. You grab a bowl and start putting in your desired toppings which range from vegetables to fish to meat to noodles. You just have to make sure you eat with your stomach and not your eyes because you pay by the pound and each pound costs $13.99. After you finish building your bowl, you go to the cashier, choose between dry pot or broth, and pick your spice level. I went with the spicy hot pot beef broth with medium spice. I loved the broth. It wasn't very spicy to me though but it was still delicious. It was pretty empty since we visited on a Friday at lunch so everything came out relatively quickly. The only unfortunate thing was that the space had an off-putting smell.
google avatar

Teagan T.

Yelp
This is a great place for people of their various diets. Everything is laid out and being able to pick what I want in this massive bowl that's almost too large to hold if you have anything else on your person other than the personal tongs. Way better idea than sloppy buffet style sauces spilled everywhere. They wipe it up but you know that counter is sticky. Authentic flavors right down to the self-serve MSG shaker- if what's in the broth wasn't enough. Which is all drinkable, as advertised. Unlike other hot pot places, you get your own Andre-the-Giant sized bowl with steaming hot broth and all your favorite things. For a vegan broth, it was delicious and I paid for it hours later feeling that extreme aridness. From what I understand the meat selections are not as good as their Rowland Heights location which were of better quality with less fat-fillers. Speedy service and fresh ingredients. But part of me is afraid to touch the leftovers. Mostly just the amount of MSG in just a cup of broth at most. I do look forward to trying their other locations and see if there's any difference.

Yelp
This spot has become one of my go-to malatang places in the area. The setup is simple: grab a bowl and tongs, then head to the buffet-style bar where you'll find just about every hot pot ingredient imaginable. You pick whatever you want, and they charge by weight ($13.99/lb), so you can go light or heavy depending on how hungry you are. Once you're done picking your items, bring it up to the counter where they'll weigh it and let you choose your soup base. I always go for the spicy bone broth it's rich, a little creamy, and packed with flavor. I tend to overdo it and grab too much, but no worries I always ask for extra broth and save the rest for later. Some of my favorite must-haves include the thicc sweet potato noodles and all the veggies. Don't forget to hit up the sauce bar too I always load up on garlic, then end up smelling like it all night (worth it). Pro tip: if your bowl is over 1.5 lbs and you pay in cash, they'll hook you up with a free drink. I usually take mine to go so no pics yet but next time I'll try to snap one before I dig in.

Yelp
We came in Friday night. This place is decently sized. Not too small but not a super large restaurant either. There is parking either behind or on the street. We were seated right away as it wasn't busy. There is a sauce station and then topping next to it. It was a really easy process. You just fill up your bowl with however much you want and then hand it to the front counter for weighing. You get a bracelet with a number. After it's done cooking they hand you your food in a big bowl. I was SUPER full at the end. I also felt like it was pretty worth the amount I paid. Everything I put in my bowl was delicious! This was my first time here and DEF not my last!
google avatar

Ophelia N.

Yelp
Build your own concept and they charge $13.99/lbs. The food and broth were very tasty, ambiance was decent, and service was efficient. I would come back to dine again, but would not load up on fish cakes next time lol.

Yelp
solo date with myself & it was very chill and easygoing to order. the hostess explained how everything worked & i chose the ingredients i wanted in my hotpot. (it's 13.99/pound) my favorite part had to be the sauce section because it's fully customizable, so don't forget your make your own sauce, it's the best part. service: amazing!!! parking: free parking in the back lot ambiance: a VIBEEEE, tons of a tables
google avatar

Helen L.

Yelp
Tried YinTang for the first time which is like Malatang. You build your own "hotpot" bowl without the hotpot part. The process: Pick your choices of protein, veggies, carbs, etc. and soup type, then the staff will cook/boil it and bring it to you. They charge by weight which I believe is $13 or $14 per pound. They have a very small sauce bar where you can create a sauce to your liking to go with your bowl. It was good and they had a nice variety of items to choose from. Would come back. There's 2 or 3 locations in SoCal for YinTang specifically.
google avatar

Christine H.

Yelp
I finally tried this self serve hot pot restaurant that was recommended by my cousins. It's like a buffet where you choose all the ingredients that you want inside your hot pot. There is a lot of variety of fresh vegetables, tofu and bean curd items, fish balls, fish/beef/lamb slices, and noodles. You place all ingredients into a plastic bowl and then they weigh your bowl. You then choose which broth or dry stir fry style you want. And within minutes, you are served. You also have the opportunity to make your own dipping sauce at a station beside the bowls. In case you get too much, like I did, ask for a takeout container. The restaurant has plenty of seating, mainly with tables for 2-4 people, but you could easily push a couple of tables together for a bigger party. There was music playing but it wasn't too noisy. Dinner was great!

Yelp
Soup base is delicious! I love this place as it is affordable and can meet anyone's budget. Stations seemed to be clean.

Yelp
Came twice in 1 week lots of options for hot pot + sauce bar. Price is great at $14/lb (cheaper than Boiling point and normal hot pot places). We've been getting the tomato soup base and it's delicious, super fresh tomato taste (no tomato chunks but they have tomato's as one of the options to add to the ingredients if you want). My new go-to soup/hot pot restaurant and it's served really quickly as well! Curious to see how the dry pot tastes as well, sounds delicious but don't know if it's very oily.

Yelp
I PERSONALLY love the hot pot here! It's the best BANG for your buck FRANCHISE in the SGV! The service is very good and they only need to add the broth and bring your hotpot to the table! The ambiance is vv casual and family friendly! Tip: if you pay in cash, you get a free soda! Parking is free and in the back! :,)) Try it out and let them know that you saw my review

Yelp
This is probably the best malatang in Irvine! The store is very clean and tidy, and there are many kinds of dishes. They all look very fresh, especially the meat slices, which are very bright red and feel very safe to eat! I highly recommend the tomato soup, which is rich in flavor, sweet and sour, and I am willing to drink a bowl of soup alone! The service is also very good! I think I will go often
google avatar

Rosemarie L.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I love Malatang because you can pick and choose what items you want and just pay by the lb. For $13.99, you get a good variety of fish balls and veggies. I loved that they offer fish ball with roe-- something i rarely see offered at malatang or shabu. Sadly, there were only beef and lamb option for protein when we went (not a big deal). The beef ended up being too fatty for my liking but overall a good experience! If your bowl is over 1.5 lb, you can get a free soda of your choice!

Yelp
I was disappointed to see they dont give the free crispy wonton strips. Still really yummy! I love that it's by pound and you get to choose the amount you want. I love the flavor of the soup (signature).

Yelp
Great food and service. Pick out what you want. Weigh it at the counter. Pick your level of spice. Wait for them to bring it to your table. Pro tip: Pay cash and they will give you a free drink. You can pick a can of coke or sprite or you can get a cold tea. Malatang here is my wife's favorite as we've tried other places, but this place is best one around according to Malatang Master wife.

Yelp
BEST PLACE EVERRRR and I'm not capping. - basically its buffet style and it's charged by weight 13.99 per pound. and tbh u can def get a lot for 13.99 I got around 5 pieces of meat and hand ful of veggies and lots of fish cakes and it was under 13.99. so the meal is totally worth. not to mention the broth is so unbelievable gooddd. tbh I don't handle spice that well but I got medium and i felt pretty okay. the broth was so flavorfulll and creamy it reminded me of tonkatsu ramen broth but with numbing spice. totally recommend coming here!!

Yelp
Came in with friends and family for late lunch today! Was great service very nice waiters and food was great as well. Interior was very clean and had great options. I think it was a little pricey though. Not sure how the weight for price works. But overall good. Definitely recommend for 626.

Yelp
I'll admit I had pretty low expectations about this place. The concept of building your own bowl and charging by weight seemed like a setup for disaster. I didn't like the added pressure of making a meal that was good and affordable. Luckily, tho I filled my bowl with meat and cabbage. I really wish they had udon noodles tho. The broth was good. I think all 5 of my party enjoyed the meal. So this was a very pleasant and enjoyable place. The staff was friendly enough also. I'll be back here when I'm in the mood for soup filled with meat.

Yelp
This hot pot spot is a DIY dream with an amazing selection of toppings. I loved the chewy rice cakes and mochi fish balls. The dry pot was peanutty, perfectly spicy, but a bit too saucy. The real star was the tomato soup --rich, comforting, and impossible to stop drinking. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
I love this spot. It's the closest to dry hot pot I can find that resembles dry hot pot in NYC. YinTang has become my comfort food spot. My sister even knows, when I'm craving something and want delivery, it's this spot. I do believe you get more bang for your buck going in person and choosing your items, but the lazy in me doesn't mind delivery, just that I don't always understand the English translation of some veggies. I find that the dry hot pot flavor is always consistent every time I order (I've lost count) and food always slaps. I do know once in a blue moon, they'll be out of the dry hot pot option. Overall, love this place! And if you haven't had dry hot pot before and enjoy mala flavors, give it a go!

Yelp
There are multiple YinTang Hot Pot locations but this one is less crowded. This was my first time here so I was a bit confused at first on what to do. The instructions are located on the sides of the wall but essentially you pick up a bowl, grab tongs, and place whatever ingredients you want in it. There's a myriad of food options, from noodles to fish balls to meat. Just note that they charge based on the pound! it's pretty affordable and you do get full. There's three different soup bases you can choose from. Since I can't do spicy that well, I feel like the tomato beef broth didn't taste too good. Overall chill environment and service is quick since they just give you the broth and have all the ingredients cook in there. They offer stamp cards too for discounts after 10 visits.

Yelp
Came here twice and what I like about YinTang is that they have a very flavorful broth and a good selection of ingredients for $13.99 a pound with a vegan broth option! When you arrive, you can park for free on the street or in the back. The staff well tell you which table to sit at marked but letter and numbers. For example table C5. Then you go to the bar with soup items and grab a bowl with tongs and load up on items for the hot pot. Veges are in the beginning and the meats toward the end. They have lots of noodle types, tofu, seafood. Then you bring the bowl to the register where they weight it and tag the bowl with a clip. They give you the matching number bracelet. The bracelets really remind me of the locker keys for Korean spas. You pay at the end after eating at the table and just wait for the piping soup to come out. They have spicy tomato soup or bone broth. The vegan option can't be spicy because apparently the spicy stuff in the back kitchen isn't plant based but you can spice your own soup with the chili oil at the table or the sauce bar. The sauce bar you DIY your own sauces. What I feel is missing is some type of citrus ponzu sauce but oh well. They do have a sichuan pepper oil which is nice. It's hard to stay under a lb! With tax and tip it's around 25 a person.

Yelp
First time for the by the weight pick your own hot ingredients. $15 per lbs. you get a big bowl and fill it with veggies, tofu, meats, seafood balls noodles etc.. Three choices of soup bases, tomato, beef and veggie option. They weight the bowl give you a tag and cook the bowl of ingredients. There is a sauce bar with the usual Chinese hot pot condiments. The flavor is ok, tried both the beef and the tomato. Definitely the tomato soup base was better at this restaurant. Also, I've seen other stores with a wider selection of ingredients which would make the bowl more interesting. Pluses, you can customize a smaller individual hot pot bowl. Price is definitely good. Minues, limited choices of soup bases. Actual meats and seafood are limited. Minimal interaction with the staff. Quick personalized hot pot.

Yelp
There's a big parking lot outside which made parking convenient. I personally like getting tomato broth, and it was very flavorful. One big bowl ($30 worth) was enough for 2 people to leave VERY full. They provided bowls and also a free soda can if you pay in cash! I would recommend getting here before 9pm because they close earlier than the listed hours. Overall, hearty food at a good price point and a great place to catch up with friends! I would recommend

Yelp
only ~$14/lb!! Lots of street parking near by. I feel like this place has the most selection in terms of veggies and different food for the malatang. It was so yum and plenty of seating inside. Would def come again!

Yelp
This soup is spicy! I got the non-spicy and the lingering flavors are peppery and spicy. I enjoy being able to pick your own ingredients and that meat is similarly priced to cheap veggies. I didn't get enough beef so make sure to get more since it shrinks! I got less than 1 lb of food and was full. I appreciated getting slices of veggies. I wouldn't be able to ever finish 1 full yam from 99 Ranch and liked picking and choosing a little bit of what I was craving. The soup was beefy and had a medicinal Chinese quality to it. It was tasty. The minus star is for the sauce ingredients. I can't put my finger on it, but they are missing something. I can make a better hot pot sauce at HaiDiLao but, of course, there are more sauces.

Yelp
I've always loved cart noodles from Hong Kong - a concept where you can have a bowl of soup noodles and put any ingredients you want in the noodles. While having different broths and ingredients from cart noodles, YinTang Spicy Hot Pot offers a very similar concept. Despite its name, I would not really consider this place a hot pot place. When I think hot pot, I think of a stove with boiling water, ingredients given table side, and then we cook our food ourselves. Instead, at this restaurant, we can pick a selection of vegetables, meats, and so forth, select a broth type, and then the entire bowl is prepared for you. The order at this time is $13.99 a pound. I got a little bit of everything, including eggs, spam, hot dog, tofu, beef, and lamb. I used instant noodles to really get the Hong Kong style effect. I asked for mild broth. Even the mild broth was just a bit too spicy for me, but the dish still reminded me of cart noodles from Hong Kong. Everything tasted amazing. I would definitely come back.

Yelp
Big fan of hot pot. Best part coming here for me is I get to choose what I want to eat in my bowl of hot pot soup. The soup base options were original, spicy, soupless, and tomato. I always opt for original beef broth. There's a very good selection for vegetables, meats, noodles, etc and a sauce bar. This place charges according to the weight of your food. Food comes out fast. And they have stamp cards for every 10 lbs, get 1 lb free. There is free parking in the back parking lot. If you pay by cash, I think you can get a free soda.

Yelp
Hot pot by the pound! Love this place. The meat broth at medium spice is perfection. I'm looking forward to trying their tomato broth, but I just can't resist getting the meat broth since I know how much I like it. There's a decent selection for you to customize your bowl. It's so easy to grab too much, but just take your leftovers home. I worried about soggy noodles and over cooked meat/ veggies, but it's still delicious 24 hrs later. I try to aim for less than a pound so I can finish it in a sitting, and it's a really filling meal for less than $15. It's fast casual: get assigned a table, build your bowl at the buffet, take it to the register to be weighed and cooked, get your ticket, take a seat, and the server will bring it to you. Take your ticket back to the register when you're done eating and pay. There's a self serve sauce bar, but the soup is so flavorful that I never use it. Don't forget the stamp card!

Yelp
|[ g r e a t v a l u e ]| Not bad and great value! Big bowl to add whatever ingredients, with ample amounts of veggies, seafood, some meat. I'm a huge fan of seafood and fish filet for hotpot and I like that I can choose how much or how little of each ingredient to add. Pay and they'll bring the bowls when it's ready. The soup was decent enough but the main thing I like is the customization and portion. Decent hotpot for decent prices. Also like that it opens late. Typical Asian restaurant seating/ambiance.

Yelp
The hot pot here is sooo delicious. It's always so clean and they have so many options to create your own hot pot to your liking. I love the medium spicy broth. This hits the spot on any day. It's one of my favorite lunch spots since I work in the dtla area.

Yelp
My mom and I came when we were craving hot soup but not hungry enough for hot pot. We liked how this place measures by weight. That being said, it's $13.99 per pound with a .5 pound minimum purchase. If you exceed 1.5 pounds and pay with cash, you get a free soda. There were many options for veggies and noodles. There was also a good amount of other protein add ins such as spam, sausage, fish, quail eggs, and fish balls. We do wish there were more options for main meats though. They only have lamb and beef. In total, my mom and I paid $56 before tip for about 3.5 pounds. I got the medium level spice and it was a comfortable level to eat at. I have a pretty high tolerance for spice and my mom even higher. She ended up getting the spicy level and she said it was a little too spicy even for her. Overall, the meal was decent. Not much to write home about but a solid place to cure a hotpot craving. Our eyes were definitely a little hungrier than our stomachs realized and we had to take the rest to go. This was the first time we visited so we were a little lost but you essentially grab one of the big bowls and a pair of tongs and you have free reign over how much and what you add to your soup. They only have one type of soup with varying spice levels. Their sauce bar is kind of small but honestly it has everything you need to enjoy your meal. There is a decent amount of seating inside and it was not hard to find a table. Parking is street parking but they also have parking in the back.
