"A lively noodle-focused spot that elevates communal, fast-casual Asian cooking — described as what might happen if a larger chain suddenly started to care about quality." - James Hansen

Went today and very happy to find this vegan option, the tofu and vegetables noodle soup. The food was served incredibly fast. Big portion, lovely seasoned and not oily. The staff was very kind as well. Will come back!

Really nice out of the way noodle bar. Staff were friendly and there was a nice general atmosphere. The portion sizes were good and for a reasonable price. Better than a chain restaurants.

Bitter Stir-fry The rival of this restaurant is the Chinese Canteen. I can understand. We are not in Asia. It's inevitable to adjust the menu to western taste. More chicken than pork options. Or worse, have to swap the original recipe, pork is replaced by chicken. But there are problems in the stir fry ho fan. It tasted bitter. It's the result of putting soy sauce too early while stir frying. It tasted bland. I think the chef only put dark soy sauce for colouring but forget to put soy sauce for saltyness. As a reminder, dark soy sauce(colouring) and soy sauce(saltyness)have different functions. Also, the stir fry was too oily. It is more oily than other Chinese restaurants in Cambridge. Had the same problem like I had experienced in the Chinese Canteen too. I felt very dry and thirsty after eating Yippee for the rest of the day. It's the symptom of consuming food with MSG. But the environment was genuinely clean and tidy. The staff was nice. Hopefully the stir fry will taste better next time so that I can adjust the rating.

I ate there and the service is top notch. The ladies waitress are welcoming and very friendly and the service is fast and good. The atmosphere is nice and the food very good. The restaurant is clean and you can see the chefs cooking! I’ll come back, don’t change anything!

Lunch Time Meal Saturday 30 December 2023 My sister had invited a friend to the restaurant, to eat with us and as it was her friend's first visit to Cambridge, my sister explained to her friend that both of us eat there regularly, and have done so for a long time, so as we all arrived, we went in and were seated. We all ordered as a starter three dishes of spicy squid, which was stir fried, in light tempura batter with fresh garlic, chilli, and spring onion, and three large prawn crackers. Our Mains were three dishes of Yippee Noodles, with thick noodles, fried with prawns, roast pork, chicken, onion, and bean shoots topped with Yippee sauce. Our desserts were Banana Fritters in sesame seeds, with vanilla ice cream and syrup. We all enjoyed our meals very much. particularly my sister's friend, so much so that she said that the next time that she comes to Cambridge, she will bring her husband.

The restaurant is conveniently located near centre with street parking around it (free after 6.30). Atmosphere was very warm, staff are welcoming and the restaurant looks bright and clean. Definitely a great first impression. Food was great too. Stuffed tofu and lemon chicken was really tasty. The noodle broth had great flavour and the noodle dishes tasted really good. Although the seafood noodle was slightly blend. It would make a great spot to eat when it’s chilly and raining. Definitely would like to visit again to try other dishes!

Stepped away from the craziness of the main shopping street of Cambridge to this quiet location just a few hundred meters from the main shops. Walked passed many times but never been in. Was not disappointed, I had the crispy noodles which was a generous portion. Wife had the beansprouts and tofu, egg fried rice and plain noodles, all was good. I thought the Chicken satay portion was a bit small for the price. That aside, all the food was very good, served nice and fresh by friendly staff. Would definitely go back.

Yelp
This place is really good! It gets a bit crowded at night but there is a good amount of seating. The prices are OK. The service can be a little slow. Definitely worth putting on your list.

Yelp
Great casual place that has some great noodles ! I had the Fried Beef Ho Fun that was spicy, and it had good wok breath - meaning they had wok hot enough to cook the dish properly. I also had the Yippee fish cakes for appetizer, and that was okay - accompanying sauce was slightly bland, but that was fine. The Sesame Banana Fritters came with Vanilla Ice cream, and a sugar syrup, which having something similar in the States, I would suggest pairing the bananas with coconut ice cream with no syrup, but I still finished it, so it was good. I would definitely go back - I was by myself this time, but it's also good for groups too! I like it better than Dojo, haven't tried Wagamama yet.

Yelp
Perfect beef noodle !!!! The beef is Asian beef not the dry, dark England beef!!

Yelp
The environment is very clean and comfortable. But the noodle soup and the fried noodles are very plain. And the price is a little bit high for such quality of food. Not recommend if you are looking for good food.

Yelp
Haven't been here for ages so it was good to return. Fried rice with beef and ginger.. Fried rice with beef in black bean sauce...same menu. Same deliciousness. All freshly cooked and served with attention. Yippee!

Yelp
I have always walked past this restaurant on King street, but never really fancied going in for a meal until a friend recommended it.She was quite hyped about it, so my expectation was sky high. Great atmosphere I have to say and the food, boy! how fresh. I decided to go for the beef in black bean sauce against my friends' persuasion to try the noodles in broth, apparently, it is the best in cambridge she says. That was after the beatifully prepared starter offcourse. The shared starter and main totalled approx. £12 each. The staffs were very polite, especially the good looking bar guy,Im sure the ladies will notice him, atleast my friend couldn't stop smiling at him (she'll kill me!). A great place to eat as a group due to the quirky style of bench seat and an environment that encourages chatting, what i mean is:it's not too posh with waiters dressed in black and white who give you the look if you laugh aloud. Romantic dinner? I'll say no. I gave it a three star rating becuase the main was not extraordinary, the started though was fantastic. Overall verdict:Fresh food A+

Yelp
Good for Cambridge. In fact, I'd say it's the best noodle bar in Cambridge. Not too expensive but with good quality ingredients. Much better than WagaMama or Dojo. You should definitely give the Chinatown Roast Duck a try. If you are going to go for a soup I'd try the Beef Ho Fun. The broth is beefy and hearty. The problem with some of Yippee's other soups is that the broth can be a bit bland unless you add the chilli oil they give you. For dessert they have these delicious fruit ice creams such as pineapple ice cream, served in a pineapple!

Yelp
Imagine Wagamama without the corporate feel and you've got Yippee. The dishes are similar to Wagamama and the table layout the same although it is a bit smaller than the Wagamama in Cambridge which is a plus. There are a good mix of soup style dishes as well as the dry noodle noodle dishes. Can get very busy, particularly on Thursday and Friday evenings and into the weekend so it is worth coming early. It's also nicely tucked away a short stretch from the main shopping area though so it does not get so much passing trade on shopping days and only those who walk that little further will find it. Well worth a visit if you can find it and worth the wait even if busy.

Yelp
A pleasent place for a meal, but the two occasions I visited I found the vegetarian selection disappointing, without the spice and range of other, similar restaurants. The giant prawn crackers are fab though, and the atmosphere is great. Meat eating friends swear by it, but be prepared to be a little limited if you don't eat chicken etc.

Yelp
Being a fan of noodle bars this is a favourite of mine in Cambridge. It is in a great location on Kind street next to some of the best pubs in Cambridge and offers original asian food. The giant prawn cracker is truely giant, the lightly battered squid as a starter is amazing, so are gyoza's (little fried and filled dumplings). The portions are very generous and prizes reasonable. We come here again and again and again!

Yelp
We eat at Yippee at least 3 times a month. There are very few places in Cambridge that serve such fresh and tasty food as efficiently as Yippee do. The staff are always welcoming and helpful. I highly recommend the spicy squid, beef and black bean rice noodles, roast duck and tom yum. A great place for an informal group meal, but equally good for two or just one. Excellent value and independently owned by a local. The only downside is that it can get a little noisy in peak times from the clanging of the woks from the open kitchen. On the plus side, I think having an open kitchen more than makes up for a little bit of noise - Yippee clearly have nothing to hide. When the staff aren't busy, they clean - no standing around boring everyone about their weekend just been or the one coming.

Yelp
I had lunch here on a cold and rainy day and it was just what I was looking for! The spicy pork noodles were outstanding - a delicious and filling bowl of ramen with great flavor. The service was excellent as well. I can't wait to come back and try the won-ton soup.

Yelp
Perfect blend of of Asian infusion. The menu is broken down by major headings (rice, soups, wok fried noodles, etc.) and very easy to read. I've had almost everything on the menu and nothing disappointed. Each dish has its own distinguished flavour. The seating is tight but well worth the adjustment. The staff are welcoming and provide a great customer service. Prices are affordable and the serving sizes are more than enough. Love this place!

Yelp
Lovely noodle bar on King Street. Seating is arranged along communal long benches and tables placed vertically throughout the restaurant. Not the place to go for a lingering intimate chat but perfect for fast service, great menu and eavesdropping onto other diners conversations. The food is really yummy but the drinks list is even better. In addition to sake and a selection of beers the juice bar offers a variety of fresh juices including a cocktail of ginger, cucumber and carrot - honestly, much nice than it sounds. The food is all prepared fresh on site and arrives to your table with incredible speed. Reasonably priced and well worth a try.

Yelp
This minimalistic noodle bar is a student favourite, and it's not hard to see why. Serving as something akin to an independent Wagamama, Yippee also offers canteen-style seating along benches and a range of oriental meals that are served with Japanese-like efficiency. The atmosphere is good and the prices are reasonable. The portions are generous and lunch deals are also offered. This is a good option if you're looking for a quick, but substantial meal.

Yelp
Had lunch here today - the signature Yippee Noodles were superb as always, as were the giant prawn crackers which are a sight to behold. Another friend had the duck and loved it. The food it always very fresh, with the vegetables enjoying just the right level of crunch. Service was a little too brisk today, but they were extremely busy. Atmosphere is always great, in a kind of real, honest, noisy way. One of my fellow diners observed how reassuring it is to be able to see the kitchen so clearly. Yippee is highly recommended to anyone wishing to get great food, and avoid the cookie-cutter experience of a chain restaurant.

Yelp
Austere, but nice atmosphere. Serves a diverse range of "asian" dishes which are consistently pretty good. I would be there all the time if the prices were a bit lower, but they are reasonable for Cambridge

Yelp
Good noodle bar. I had one of the pork ramen soups with mushrooms, red onions, red peppers, and spinach in a chicken broth. It was quite tasty; at first I found the chicken broth bland, but had decided that I really liked it by the end of the meal. The service was speedy and pleasant. I want to check out the other noodle bars in Cambridge first, but I'll be back.

Yelp
Lovely food, fast service. Lunch times are busy but you can still enjoy a good meal and not be rushed. Love there deserts.

Alan C.

Yelp
The restaurant is clean with good service! Just the food is not really Chinese style.
