"The unassuming canteen attached to the long-standing Indian YMCA mouthwatering dishes are on display from self-serve, all-you-can-eat buffet trays showcasing local dishes from across India’s culinarily diverse 29 states. The affordable prices (ranging from just £6.50 for breakfast to £13 for lunch and dinner), make it as much of a favorite among local office workers as the students lodging there. Favorites among patrons include chicken korma and biryani, while Thursdays are dedicated to South Indian dishes like sambar, a spicy lentil soup. Freshly prepared home-style curries (the Kerala fish curry, egg curry and butter chicken are popular options), tandooris, onion bhajis, and dhal offer a filling feast for the senses. Rice and condiments, as well as drinks such as coffee and Chaas, a refreshing herb-infused yogurt drink, are complimentary. The canteen, located on the building’s ground-floor Mahatma Gandhi Hall, is a central hidden gem for many Londoners, situated near Fitzroy Square and just a three-minute walk from Warren Street Station. Established in 1920, the hostel is a hub for the young Indian diaspora community in London, and offers a rich culinary and cultural space for British Indian history. It’s OK. The food is tasty and authentic, but it used to be a real bargain. Now £20 at the weekend and it is a self service canteen where you even need to clean your own trays. Sadly not quite the hidden gem it used to be, although the outside terrace is a lovely shady spot on a sunny day.

YMCA Indian London offers a delightful experience with great food and a warm atmosphere. Situated in the heart of the city, it's easily accessible with excellent transportation links. The friendly staff creates a homely ambiance, attracting a diverse crowd of students and professionals. Overall, a fantastic spot for delicious meals and a welcoming vibe.

It is a very centrally located hotel within walking distance of 3-4 tube stations. The facility is a old facility but is comfortable. The living quarters are not fancy like 5 stars but comfortable. Ideal for those on a budget. The plus is that they serve Indian food morning and evening. Lunch is paid for. Food is authentic Indian and tasty and also unlimited. Its a good place for a short stay. Most of the other residents will most probably be India students and Indian tourists. I would recommend this place.

Didn't stay at the hostel but went for food. It was delicious and seemingly authentic, waitress didn't knkw what veganism was at first but once explained they were able to accommodate. Prices are dirt cheap so reccomend if on a budget.

I stayed for one night in a single room with attached bathroom last week. Considering the reservation fee (nearly 110£), I expected a nicer room. The room was clean but the furnishing was basic. The food in the restaurant was very average and I don't think it tasted very good. It reminded me of mess food from my hostel days as a student. Agreed it is conveniently located in London, but even then, I have stayed in better hotels in the city for a similar cost. It is good for students studying in UCL, but I don't think it is up to the mark for professionals.

Very noisy at night. Food was horrible - rice and sauce, practically no veggies and chicken was mostly bone. Rooms were as you would expect and reception staff friendly enought. All in all bring ear plugs and pot of noodle with you if you stay here.

This place is ideal for Indians as they provide all Indian authentic meals. Its a set menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The guests will be given breakfast and dinner in their package and lunch can be purchased. The food is very good and practically unlimited. The rooms are basic and comfortable - do not expect 4-5 star type of accommodation. This is a budget accommodation in the heart of London with almost all meals. The location is the best. Its walking distance from 3 tube stations ie. Warren street, Great Portland Street and Goodge street. Further down you will get Euston Square, Tottenham Court Road and Regents Park tube stations. Therefore almost 6 stations close by. All amenities and shops are close by. Its a good place for a single traveller for 2-3 days. Just don't expect the sky.
