Yo Sushi’s Conveyor Belt Japanese Restaurant Chain to Serve Less Sushi | Eater London

"Once defined by its orange conveyor belt and sushi focus, this chain has steadily removed sushi from its branding—dropping sushi from its logo, scrapping the signature orange conveyor, altering its written styling, and hiring creative agency Pablo to completely overhaul the brand with the explicit aim of making customers forget it was ever known for sushi." - James Hansen

I recently ordered takeout from this restaurant during my short lunch break and was very happy with my experience. The staff provided friendly and efficient service, and my order was prepared promptly. The sushi was fresh, flavourful and beautifully packed. I would recommend this restaurant since I found it to be excellent value and delicious!

I order from here probably average once a month and I am never disappointed. The fish tastes fresh and soft. The rice layer is thin on the rolls, they give an amazing portion for the price and the ratio of each item inside the roll is always great. They always follow my special instructions. This is my favorite place to order from.

Google
Very friendly staff. We were greeted right as we walked in. Service was very prompt which made me question the freshness of the food. However, even that surprised me as the rice was fluffy and the fish tasted very fresh. They have a wide variety of rolls and other menu items to choose from so theres definitely something for everyone. The prices were also VERY reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you're getting. Will definitely be going back again.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Yo Sushi is seriously the best and freshest sushi I’ve ever had! The rolls are packed with generous ingredients, so fresh, and absolutely delicious. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, which makes the whole experience even better. This will definitely be my go-to spot for all my sushi cravings and I’ve heard the poke bowls are incredible too, so I can’t wait to try them next time. Thank you, Yo Sushi!

I’ve been coming here for years. Recently I’ve been ordering the same order on uber eats every week for well over a month. Quality is amazing every time, big pieces and they even listen to the uber requests. Some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. Price is worth it.

We ordered from Yosushi because the price of their kaisendon caught my eye. It's only $8.5. At first, I thought the portion wouldn't be very big, but it was surprisingly good! They served 12 pieces of different kinds of sashimi, including salmon belly 🤤 (which I forgot to take a picture of). Each piece of sashimi was quite decent in size. ❤️‍🔥 We also ordered the seaweed salad and a rainbow roll to meet the minimum order amount. The portions were so generous that the meal was perfect for two of us. 😋 I think they mainly focus on take-out orders. There isn't a lot of space for eating inside.

YO Shushi has became one of my favorite places for take out. I ordered another 80-piece sashimi sushi roll plate. Quality of food is static and order was ready on time. Staff is friendly as usual. This was at least the 3rd time we ordered the 80-piece plate. Everything in the plate is so well organized. I have a comment that if the owner or the chef could consider having the green dragon roll replaced by black dragon roll or any other dragon roll regularly, it would make it more interesting when someone orders frequently that you will see something new instead. After awhile, we ordered 100 pieces of sashimi sushi roll plate this time. In compare with the 80-pieces, there are more sushi and roll but not sashimi. There are still 3 pieces of Hamachi. Price for 100-pieces increased from $62 to $70. I guess it should have more good quality sashimi instead. The food is fresh and ready on time. Nevertheless, it is still good for the price. I would still recommend. Today, we ordered a platter with 80 pieces of sashimi, sushi and roll. It was ready on time. The platter was really good at very good price. The services was good as usual. I asked for extra ginger and was given to me at no question. I would highly recommend this sushi store. Although it is not a big store, the food is fresh and service is always pleasant. In the 80 pieces platter, I found Hamichi which is my favourite. You can hardly get Hamichi from other sushi store on part tray. You should try YO Sushi and no other 'sushi takeout place to go. We ordered a 80-pieces maki platter. At time of pick up, the platter was not ready. It took another 10 minutes to get done! However, since I was waiting at outside of store, they delivered to outside of the store when it was ready. I think it is very important to maintain a good standard of services as positive memories would also remain in people's mind. The maki platter tasted really good. The rice could be softer that would make them even better. The price is good for sure and I am glad that YO Sushi has a location in Mississauga so that we have another choice for good sushi at a good price. I would try sashimi next time and stay tuned.

Google
Truly an underrated spot for sushi in Mississauga. The quality was good and the prices are at a reasonable range. The sashimi was great value for what you pay for and the Philadelphia Roll had a good ratio of salmon, avocado, and cream cheese. The place has sitting in option (casual setting) but seems to be more of a takeout spot. This plaza has a lot of free parking spots so there isn't much of an issue to get here.

Yelp
Ordered for delivery. The presentation was enticing and the quality of the food was not compromised. Miso soup was flavourful and was still warm. The sushi/sashimi platter tasted fresh and sweet.

Yelp
It's Saturday night and my family decided to try out Yo! Sushi while they're still running their 15% off grand opening promotion, when you pay with cash. The restaurant is of decent size, with some dine-in seating (about five tables for four and two tables for two). Seating is similar to the tables and chairs you'd find in a mall food court but I appreciate that it was pretty spacious between tables and didn't feel crowded. My family and I went around 6:30 pm and we were the only table dining in but there were about 3-4 takeout/Uber pickups while we were there. Service was friendly. We immediately got offered menus and green tea, where they came multiple times during our stay to refill. We ordered: 60 pcs assorted sushi and roll platter ($49.99), Philadelphia roll ($4.99), and spicy salmon roll ($5.99). Overall, very affordable, especially with the grand opening promotion. My family and I were stuffed and in agreement that we could have done with just the 60 pcs platter amongst the four of us. The quality was good, not above and beyond, but the ratio of filling-to-rice was quite good and rice was made well (not too wet and not too dry, meaning all sushi and rolls held their shape when handled). Freshness was there as well. The Philadelphia roll was really well made in terms of the ratio of all their fillings; but I felt the spicy salmon was lacking some spicy mayo for that heat. I'd have to say my favorites were the unakyu (sushi version with unagi), the yam roll (crunchy and had a delicious sweet sauce), and the Philadelphia roll. They were also decently generous with ginger and wasabi. Oh, almost forgot to mention that they start you with miso soup which is included with the meal. It didn't taste the most authentic and could have been more flavorful but I appreciated that it came out piping hot and had a good amount of seaweed and mini tofu inside. Washrooms were spacious and of average cleanliness. No automatic taps or paper towel dispensers though. The restaurant itself was kept clean and tidy. Their wall art is also really cute and fitting for the place. Tons of free parking in the plaza.

Yelp
LOVE getting the Deluxe Chirashi Don! Fresh seafood and pickled veggies - chef's choice of items. If you're lucky, you'll get some uni (sea urchin) in your bowl! Service is fast and courteous. I like ordering via food apps and then pick-up in person. It is a VERY small shop! Mostly for pick up orders. There are only a few tables for dine in.

Yelp
Definitely would order again! Located minutes from Square One. We ordered through doordash and it was worth the wait. If you're craving sushi, but can't go far, this is the place to try. What we ordered: Sushi Sashimi Platter Sashimi Platter Futomaki Rolls Menu / Taste:5/5 ASSORTED 40 PIECE SUSHI ROLLS & SASHIMI $35 - We ordered a platter of sushi and sashimi for two people...they totally underestimated us and gave us 4 chop sticks for the entire order. It came with 12 pieces of sashimi, including two slices of fatty salmon. I never had fatty salmon before and this was amazing! The other pieces of sushi was standard but quite delicious. You can taste how fresh the sushi was and it's definitely worth the price! ASSORTED SASHIMI $16 - we were hoping this platter would come with more fatty salmon. It did not, however we love how thick the sashimi cuts are and every bite was delicious. If you ordered as much as we did, this was enough for two meals for sure! FUTOMAKI ROLLS - $11.99 - these rolls are vegetarian friendly. It comes with egg, cucumber, avocado, mushrooms, and radish. Nice balance of salty and sweet

Yelp
Ordered another amazing meal here - this time, we went all out and ordered a 100-piece sashimi, sushi, and roll platter, a 50-piece sashimi platter, toro sashimi, uni sushi, a salmon avocado roll, and an unagi appetizer. Damn! Honestly, the sashimi, sushi, and roll platter stole the show. There was an excellent assortment of sashimi, and they didn't skimp out on the rolls! I feel like most places just give you filler rolls, but I genuinely enjoyed all the maki given here. The only one I didn't like was the Philadelphia roll - the cream cheese came out a bit too strong in Yo!'s variation. The sashimi was good, and I was pleasantly surprised at the toro. It was super fatty and fishy, and indeed melted in my mouth! I found the uni sushi to be decent; much better than its sashimi form (the rice helps balance its fishyness). What I love most about all nigiri / maki is that the restaurant makes it with minimal rice, and the rice is good! I've had too many issues in the past with rice falling apart, being too wet, acidic, etc. - but this one is just right. I hope they keep up their quality and excellent customer service! I called in and texted with a question, and they were VERY kind to make an accommodation for me - without me even pushing for it.

Yelp
Located near Square One, Yo! Sushi proves to be a relaxed yet professional haven for sushi lovers. The combination of great value and high-quality food makes it a worthwhile visit. Despite our Friday night outing, the restaurant was pleasantly uncrowded. While seating options are limited, Yo! Sushi thrives as a takeout spot. The chirashi don, boasting a delightful array of seafood, left me satisfied, while my friend's salmon don looked equally appetizing. With a solid 8.5/10 rating, Yo! Sushi is an overlooked gem that promises a delightful dining experience.

Yelp
So far so good I'd say! We ordered the 40 piece platter, black dragon roll, orange dragon roll and the spicy salmon roll and overall it was just alright. I heard a lot of positive feedback from friends and so I had a pretty high expectation. The freshness was there but part of the issue was the rice was slightly undercooked which made the sushi and rolls less enjoyable. I also have to say that the unagi (eel) on the black dragon roll was underwhelming as the fish did not fully cover the sides of the specialty roll. I usually order black dragon rolls and I have never seen the unagi not cover the entire roll. I did also find the salmon piece slightly smaller than what I am use to on the orange dragon roll. I did enjoy the spicy salmon roll which is a basic maki and was also included unexpectedly in the platter (definitely a plus!). Looking forward to trying different items like their sashimi bowls and I also want to try the platter with their squid (ika) sashimi!

Yelp
As I lay here, contemplating my life choices, the only thing tethering me to this world is the AMAZING 80 piece platter I got from here!!! This place is brand new & offers AMAZING prices for their quality sushi. We got an 80 piece platter to go for only $52! So that in itself is already a huge deal. When I went in the pick up, they had a few seats but it's mainly a takeaway business. They were a team of two and the owner was so friendly! She gave me two miso soups and said she just started this restaurant! She also asked me how much soy sauce and I said 6. She then told me she'll give me 6 chopsticks too (I was too ashamed to say this 80 piece platter was only for two very hungry people....) and she gave us miso soup too! We got the platter and I think I body slammed this when I got home. The quality was great - so the value was even MORE than what we imagined. I actually think I found my new favourite go-to sushi! All in all, they got a new loyal customer now - super friendly staff and great, quality and value sushi! Two tips: 1. They only accept cash! 2. If you think you could finish an 80 platter with just two people. You are very wrong and will sit on your couch as I am contemplating life.

Yelp
I'd say, good but not GREAT. Price is good, considering how many pieces you get. A 40-pc maki platter, as per photo, was $28. For some reason ALL the platters were cash only, but you're still charged tax. After ordering, it took a good 20-min for the platter to be ready. So if you're ordering a platter/more than just a coupla rolls, it would be faster if you order ahead of arrival. Sushi was fresh. However, it was fairly generic tasting. Rice could've been seasoned more. There really wasn't a taste to the rice. I usually order maki 'cause I like variety and the taste of the seaweed. However, there wasn't even 1 hosomaki roll, i.e. rolls with seaweed on the outside. All of them were rice-based and at least 2-4 rolls were California rolls with either a sauce or a crab topping. That's the same thing to me. I wouldn't be opposed to ordering again from them, but I'd definitely ask why they charge tax on cash items! P.S. One of the sushi chefs had his mask around his chin while preparing the food. I know it's not easy to wear all the time, but people can see you!

Yelp
It was a little dark out, sorry for the pictures. Great place, good sushi for a great price!! My SO and I love to order their maki roll platter with 40 pieces. Its customizable so if you dont like something you can take it out and add a roll youd rather have instead. Wait times are dependent on how busy they are. It ranges between 25 minutes and an hour for the platter we order.

Yelp
First of all, during a pandemic I'm really trying to go out of my way to support local restaurants and this is definitely a little mom and pop shop in a small plaza that is growing in popularity. I'm writing this review after ordering take out multiple times now, and each time they have not failed me. I really appreciate consistency in sushi and this place really takes the cake. For the price and the quality, I don't know any other place in Mississauga that can beat them! Their platters are not filled with the average cheaper California roll variation -- nope, there are spicy tuna rolls etc. The price per piece is also unbeatable. I was initially actually surprised at the prices because I would've easily been charged 1.5x for the same platter at another place! Sushi is also super fresh. What's unique about this place is truly the quality for the price. Usually chirashi dons at your typical sushi restaurant will not come with uni. I was super surprised to even see it listed as part of the variety in their chirashi don! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. You won't regret it! You can order ahead for pickup on Ubereats to save yourself some time. BUT BRING CASH for their platters!

Yelp
Yo! Sushi has replaced our local take out sushi joint lately. I was always concerned about the freshness of our normal place. We do not have that same worry at Yo! Sushi. Everything seems very fresh and well put together. We often order the poke bowl and a sushi tray to share. The poke bowl is rather basic compared to others we have tried recently, but they do have a lovely selection of interesting sauces to put on top. There isn't a large selection of sushi. We do wish there were hand rolls available. Even still, the maki rolls we order are large, uniform and well put together. Very fresh tasting, no complaints.

Yelp
Note: This place prefers cash for takeout on larger items. This place is so good it's inspired me to break my yelp hiatus, solely to talk about this place. Summary: A very recently opened restaurant that has replaced the old Sora sushi with a new more modern looking restaurant. Prices are amazing, food quality is fantastic, and platter selection cannot be beat. The food quality is fantastic. Of all the recent places I've been to, this is one of the few places that offers Uni (sea urchin), as well as high quality tuna. Another twist is that they even offer these luxury items in their chirashi. I've ordered multiple platters from them at this point, and their selection is amazing. I had expected the normal spread (California rolls in abundance, with cheaper sushi) but instead was greeted to multiple spicy rolls, 4 deluxe rolls and more for a price I would never have expected. On that note, their prices put all other a la cartes to shame. Specifically towards platters, I have never had a spread of that quality for that price. A platter priced at $50, would easily run 75-100 in other places. Their tradeoff is they ask for cash for these orders. Ultimately this is a great place for takeout, if not one of the best in Mississauga. Definitely worth it.

Yelp
This is a very new sushi restaurant that we had to try out in Mississauga. We actually visited this restaurant twice, back to back in 2 days and ordered the same items. On the first day, we ordered 2 of their deluxe chirashidon bowls, beef tar tar and their famous yo! sushi roll. Their beef tar tar was just meh. It was basically a couple of raw beef slices that was tossed in with soya sauce or something with not much flavor. Their yo! sushi roll was excellent though! The texture and taste was on point. It consisted of salmon, cuttlefish and avocade topped with spicy fake crab, and fish eggs. Highly recommend you order this roll. Next onto their deluxe chirashidon bowl. Despite the uni tasted not very fresh, overall the bowl was very good for the price point you are paying. The red spotted prawn tasted very sweet and all of their sashimi tasted fresh! Unfortunately, when we went back the following day to order the exact items, their chirashidon bowls were not so fresh this time around which was very disappointing. Their once red spotted shrimp became brown spotted shrimp. What used to be very soft and delicate tasting fish sashimi became hard and sinewy. I was gonna rate this restaurant 4 stars but there is definitely a consistency issue here. Overall, I would recommend this place. If you happen to catch it on a day when everything tastes fresh, then you will be happy. If not, then consider yourself unlucky.

Yelp
11/10 best sushi I've had in Mississauga. They use good quality, fresh ingredients while remaining reasonably priced. Friendly staff too!!

Yelp
I came to the Sauga during Covid time for a business trip. However not wanting to dine in at a restaurant I decided to give this a place a go for takeout soosh. Man.... oh man....was it delicious. I decided to go with 5 rolls. Seeet yam, unagi, spicy salmon, dynamite and one of the dragon rolls. Everything was fresh awesome in texture and beyond tasty. Price vs value was great! Totally worth returning back. I called in an order and it was ready in 30 min. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Yelp
Wow super impress this will be my new sushi spot Forsure, there definitely not many premium places I definitely love that their sushi is so fresh and reasonably price for premium usually pay an arm and leg for uni and Toronto, the charashi bowl was 18$ what a steal
google avatar

Monica L.

Yelp
This place is pretty small only has a couple of table for dinning. Great for take out. The fish is fresh and very affordable.

Daniel Y.

Yelp
Great family run restaurant. Freshly made and super tasty. Happy to support a new local business.
google avatar

Bernie C.

Yelp
They have a wide variety of sushi at very affordable prices. All the rolls are $5 to $6 which means you can get an assortment of rolls and not have one large roll of the same thing for $10. They have around 10 vegetarian items and I really like their seaweed salad and yam tempura roll. It has a good cruch. Also, my family has ordered the sushi platter and it seems very reasonably priced. Definitely check them out.

Herman W.

Yelp
The poke bowl is pretty good and fresh, but they didnt listen to my requests by taking away edamame, and giving me soy sauce instead of the mayo and sesame sauce. I hope there will be less errors made when i visit next time. PS. they called me back and said they will send me free food next time I go visit them. Thanks Jenny for that! I enjoy the poke bowl :)

Yelp
I saw YO!Sushi from across the plaza at The Alley and checked their menu online - called into the store and ordered a chirashi don ($15). Went inside after 10 minutes (clean space) and picked up my order with no hassle. The chirashi don was advertised to come with vegetables but really only had 1 lettuce leaf and some shredded turnip (?) HOWEVER - the fish itself is phenomenal. Each piece was fresh and thickly cut. They also added in more "premium" slices such as fatty tuna and scallop that aren't seen in other restaurants for a base chirashi don. I'll be back when I'm in the area!
google avatar

Mika T.

Yelp
Yo Sushi is located in the Wholesale Club plaza and is definitely a hidden gem! Got the 40 pc platter and the Yo! Roll (I really recommend this) which came to about ~$60. Will definitely be back.

Aaron T.

Yelp
The best sushi restaurant in Mississauga. The sashimi is very fresh, especially their salmon. Unlike some sushi restaurants in Mississauga that serve defrozen sashimi, you can definitely tell that the sushi at Yo didn't get frozen before being served.

Neuritis F.

Yelp
Wow this place is a hidden gem. Excellent quality sushi and sashimi at even better prices. This is my go to sushi restaurant now. Take out orders are always available on time.
google avatar

Jason N.

Yelp
Always consistent and nearby with reasonable prices. I love their dynamite and green dragon rolls.
google avatar

MaryJoanna V.

Yelp
Love their Orange Dragon roll and Hawaii roll. Never disappoints. Would like it if the place did substitutions on their platters. Not everyone likes all the different types of sashimi or sushi. Accommodating would be great. Not like they would lose in doing so and would probably gain more customers if they did.

Sogol T.

Yelp
Sooooo fresh and delicious every time, weather it's delivery or in restaurant! The quality is always wonderful. Highly recommended!

Monica E.

Yelp
I ordered a 40 piece assorted roll platter and it only came with a variety of at most 3 different very basic rolls and no nigiri. Very disappointed as I expected more variation.

Jill S.

Yelp
I've been ordering from here via Uber Eats almost weekly since covid began. I'm a salmon lover and I can't get enough. I usually order the salmon family and a lunch of salmon lover sushi. The fish is always fresh and thick cut. Portion sizes are generous. The rolls even still taste fresh when I have them for lunch the next day. 100% recommend.
