Yelp
TLDR; overpriced for a "resort" that is NOT maintained, has skeleton staff, broken amenities, and an owner who does not care about the guests.
My daughter and I came all the way from California expecting a once-in-a-lifetime retreat, but the expectations were far from met. For the very high priced stay, the experience was entirely underwhelming - especially compared to other "top resorts".
Upon arrival, we were very disappointed. The resort looked like a ghost town. There was nobody there to greet us or help with bags. There was one woman sitting at the front desk to check us in, however she failed to tell us any pertinent information (namely, the WiFi code, that breakfast was included, the hours for amenities, etc.). I went to bring the bags in, but struggled to open the door while maneuvering the cart in from the frigid winter air. Nobody made any effort to help - the woman at the front desk just sat and watched me struggle, even though there were no other guests waiting in line. Upon arriving to our room, my daughter tried to get on the WiFi for an important work call, at which point we realized that there was no information on how to access the WiFi or even how to call down to reception. My daughter used her phone to go to the website and found a reservations phone number listed there. I called this number, and the reservations agent listed three possible multi-digit extensions for me to try. On the second attempt, I finally got a hold of the woman at the front desk. She told me to come down to the lobby to take a picture of the WiFi code. Seriously? I then asked if it would be possible to get a mini fridge in the room for medicinal purposes. She informed me that it would cost an additional $25 per night, which I agreed to. After waiting an hour, I called back down to remind her that I had requested a mini fridge. Have I mentioned there is nobody else staying at this resort? She told me that she would check to see if there were any available. Excuse me? An hour ago, you had told me you would send one up. Finally, another 20-30 min later, a housekeeper arrived with a mini fridge. At this point, we decided to check out the amenities. We passed through the locker room, where we were appalled to see that FOUR of the seven toilets were "out of order", THREE of the five sinks weren't working, the mineral hot tub heater had broken and was now a "cold tub", and the reception area sign had not been kept up (see attached photos). Needless to say, the place has NOT been maintained. These complaints were just the beginning - the WiFi did not work, the gym equipment was broken (and quite honestly, a safety hazard and liability), the room was never cleaned during our stay, COVID signs have not been taken down, the carpets are stained throughout, the trails are not maintained, there is NO golf course as advertised, and the yoga mats and blankets are not sanitized or cleaned. We later learned that these issues were not a result of us coming during the off-season. The maintenance staff has been fired, there are two housekeepers total on the large property, and there was no manager present for us to speak to. Apparently, the owner was on site, but he refuses to speak to guests.
I will say that the few staff on site were quite pleasant, and the Neti Kriya and Gong Immersions were enjoyable. It is horrible to see the potential be completely overthrown by the management and lack of maintenance.
We feel taken advantage of. They sell the experience as one thing (with golf courses, fresh juices, hot tubs, and top service), but this is a lie given the current situation.
