"Husband-and-wife duo Tim and Tara Dale co-founded the original Yoga Tree studio in 1999, and over the years have fully refined the offering—you'll hear modern playlists just as often as traditional Indian music, and there's a range of teaching styles on the menu, including Kundalini, Vinyasa, Hatha, and more. The studio also has a robust workshop and retreat program, plus well-respected teacher training for those who want to take their practice to the next level."

Amazing studio space and great class. This was my first time at Yoga Tree after years of a “Power Yoga” studio, and it was wonderful. Very calm, quiet and relaxing environment, no loud talking about your day in the yoga room as was at my previous studio. Instructor Jack was excellent at describing technique/ pose adjustments- I learned so much in just one class.

Yoga Tree Castro is absolutely one of my favorite yoga studios in San Francisco. The space is beautiful and very spacious even if you are in a class where there are only a few inches between each yoga mat. Every instructor is amazing and the variety of times makes it very easy to go to a yoga class anytime during the day.

Great studio for a variety of yoga. Instructors are excellent. They are mindful of different abilities and limitation and are willing to provide variations. The evening classes are always packed, which is a bit of a bummer. But it's great when there is live music.

Best classes, world class teachers and beautiful well maintained studios. In addition to a wonder experience offered to students; Yoga Tree offers the most extensive yoga teaching education out there, from the best teachers in the industry. I have taken workshops for continuing education at other studios and will always return to Yoga Tree. The quality of the education provided surpasses anything else in the industry. They are truly dedicated to the practice of yoga; while creating a space for all levels and styles. If you’ve been looking for a mindful studio to make your own or have considered a training to depend your practice or continue your education, look no further. Namaste-

Friendly place. Know the business of Yoga. Great spacious room with beautiful light. Home to some great teachers like Mark Morford and Janet Stone, Julie Locke. The people that go to this studio are far less likely to be yoga snots that you see in most of the city studios.

When I visit San Francisco for work, I typically stay in the Castro/Mission districts and love taking classes at this specific YT location. The studio is so gorgeous - the super high ceilings and giant Kali puja is so beautiful. The first time I came to this space I immediately felt at home...maybe it was Kali, maybe it was the practice. I teach alignment based yoga in Atlanta where I currently live, so I love taking the Hatha alignment classes on Wednesday nights with Max.

Convenient locations, warm welcoming facilities, amazing instructors (Julie Locke, Sean Haleen, Kerri Kelly, Dana Damara, and Lauren Slater are my faves!), and friendly staff and fellow yogis! My favorite yoga studio in SF and one of the best I've been to anywhere.

One of my favorite studios. They do a really great job of featuring other yoga instructors from out of town and it allows students to explore. Have taken classes with Janet Stone, Mark Morford, Pradeep and Dana D and loved all of them.

Yelp
THE CASTRO ROOM is my favorite yoga studio in the city: -The instructors are top notch. -the classes push you to new heights -the location is just a block away from muni -THE SPACE IS BEAUTIFUL (feels like you're practicing in a temple. ...and it has the ability to be HEATED.

Yelp
The space in Castro Room is stunning! Lofty and plenty of room to spread out and never bump elbows. I tried a class here and thought the staff were friendly and welcoming. The "warm yoga" class was exactly that - just slightly warmer than room temperature. The flow of the class was pretty slow and it was a good pace to focus on centering my attention. It did go quite over time during savasana at the end, but overall this studio is a great option for a relaxing yoga session.

Yelp
Haley's 6:15 on Tuesday and Thursdays has definitely changed my life. Last year was one of the most difficult years of my life and Haley's classes have been the most therapeutic yoga classes I have ever taken. I also have not been to the Castro room until October of last year and it is one of the best studios in the city. Perfect spot for hot yoga and meditation.

Yelp
Best yoga studio in San Francisco. I am thrilled to be back in one of the most community minded and beautiful yoga rooms in the city. This is where I began my yoga journey at the age of 50. This is how I have improved my health and mental well-being. I dropped 20 pounds, cured my anxiety, saved my fractured ankle & cured my back problems through yoga. I am a total yoga head. My favorite teachers are Jason Bowman who is an extraordinarily gifted teacher, Janet Stone, Mike Richardson, who is so experimental and kind, Rebecca Rogers & more. This is a community space with work trade agreements, new teachers, new types of classes from hard core Vinyasa to restorative to meditation to sound bath. They offer both free classes and community classes at a reduced fee. Their memberships are VERY reasonable. I love the place. Save the planet & come practice.

Yelp
Last night was my first visit in at least a decade, glad to be back for an uplifting weekly kirtan led by Jahnavi Harrison. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Best studio in the city - from location, to studio space, to teachers, to price. I have no complaints. I am so grateful for this space carrying on the yoga legacy at this location

Yelp
Ok, the Castro Room gets some extra props from me for a couple of reasons :) First, after I expressed my concerns to the owner (from my last review), I pretty much left it at, thanks and good luck. But she was kind enough to gift me a class for my time, and although it was totally unnecessary, it was a super nice gesture. And second, leave it to me to forget the Castro Street Fair was going on this past Sunday...I guess yoga wasn't a priority to anyone but me! They were about to close up shop but kept the class going for lil ol' me. I had a hard week and was really grateful for that! THANKS SO MUCH!!! Now that's the kind of service that I'm talking about that can really make the world go 'round :)

Yelp
Really 5 stars but since my quirky nature is so picky and hates the bright LED read out digital meters on the sound system right next to the stage and that is so distracting to me, ... i took one star out. However, if your teacher is Sunny Gross, then back to 5 stars, ... because she puts me at ease and nothing distracts me! ...

Yelp
The studio is gorgeous and huge. So whether you're in a small class or a class of 100 yogi types you will enjoy the warmth, space and community. I have been training here since it opened as Yoga Tree many moons ago. After it closed post beginning of pandemic, it was heart breaking for the yoga community. And now it is just incredible to see The Castro Room bring this studio back to life. My teacher Janet Stone packs the house with her fantastic teaching style, music and spiritual approach to yoga. She is one of a kind and I trust The Castro Room chooses wisely when they hire yoga teachers to join their team. If you love to be warm but not into Bikram or Ashtanga heat, and you like a variety, go check out @thecastroroom

Yelp
I love this place. Huge calm space with both ceiling boards to absorb sound and lighting that is never in your eyes when you're on your back. Lots of high windows. The teachers are excellent and their sliding scale options are a community service to the neighborhood. I go to a LOT of different studios and had to stop to praise this one.
