"Peckham’s first dedicated yoga studio opened on the second floor of the Bussey Building one year ago and has gone from strength to strength, pulling in a local crowd who don’t want to travel far to get their fix (especially if your studio is only two floors up, ahem!) Launched by Emma Arnold and Sean Hitzelberger, the studio offers a range of classes from meditative Yin to stimulating Yogasana or dynamic Vinyasa Flow, and everything else in-between. It’s a great space, filled with natural light from the large warehouse windows, to unwind and take a breath in this busy city. A personal favourite of our studio are Katy Bateman’s classes." - Studio A4 E+F
"Yoga is big in London (as it is everywhere), but there are few places we have enjoyed practicing more than Yogarise. Held on an upper floor of a South London warehouse, classes are large, but the experience feels incredibly intimate. This is no run-of-the-mill Ashtanga. Classes are taught to music that stretches from classical and instrumental to traditional Indian. The yin class, taught by Emma Peel, not only focuses on stretching out the hips and lower back but is a meditative experience unlike any we’ve had. Peel recites poetry, the music seems to ebb and flow with the stretches (which you hold for up to five minutes), and the room smells comfortingly—never overwhelmingly—of incense. Mats, blocks, and blankets are freely provided, and the relaxation area, filled with art house magazines, herbal teas, and works by local artists, is a space you could spend hours in."

In mid-June, while visiting my daughter in Peckham, I attended a Hatha Flow class with Lydia. Apart from seeing my daughter, it was the highlight of my time in England. Lydia gently led participants to find their grounded space, to move in ways that benefitted body, mind and soul and to simply allow goodness to arise from within. Lydia's calm demeanor and gentle voice provided optimal conditions for a wonderful experience. I highly recommend Yogarise, in particular Lydia as a yoga teacher and I am considering to participate in on-line classes with Yogarise studio in Peckham.

I have been going to this class for some time
- I really enjoy the way the class focuses on small details which look really easy but turn out to be very demanding. Becky is a very insightful teacher and makes every class interesting and different.

I'd like to point out first and foremost that the four stars of this review have nothing to do with the teachers - every class I've been to has been great and all teachers are really amazing at what they do.
My criticism is mostly of how the studio appears to be run.
I've been going to Yogarise on and off since I moved to the area in 2019, and more regularly since 2022. Over the course of the years, the classes have become more and more crammed-in - just yesterday, I went to a class that had 33 people in it (I counted), which is simply too many to enjoy and fully execute your own movements. The teacher did her best to compensate, but it is the studio's responsibility to make sure everyone has space to practise.
I also find it curious how the lockers haven't been fixed or replaced in literal years, but buying ten new reformer machines seems an investment the studio is willing to make. The mind boggles. Regarding those machines: they make an awful lot of noise so good luck trying to focus on your breathing when there's a reformer class going on next door.
I do understand that small businesses are hard-pressed these days - but it would be nice to see a bit more consideration of the overall experience in this studio.

I've been to many Yoga classes in the Queens Park location but last weekend I went to the first Yoga for Writers mini workshop with Anna. That was quite profound, I am looking forward to the next ones. Also great to finally go to Yogarise Peckham, great local vibe in there!

Beautiful space! Found it via classpass, will definitely try other classes and teachers. Change rooms have plenty space, lockers, air dryer
The studio itself is full of light, so good for a morning yoga!

REALLY DISAPPOINTING - Brought a class pack and only got to use one session so it cost £30!!
I recently brought their introductory pack for 3 Reformer sessions, but didn’t get an email confirmation so couldn’t find when the expiry was. I’ve emailed twice as I wasn’t able to book any sessions so must have missed the expiration. I’ve never had a response to either of my emails!! Even more frustrating is I get daily marketing emails so they clearly have great access to my emails! INFURIATING and disappointing to consider themselves a community organisation

Really great reformer session, the only downside is there is no mirrors. All other studios I have visited are full of mirrors, where you can watch your form which I find beneficial. I hope that Yogarise will do similar in the future.
Other than that, the studio is great! Thank you!
