I’m new to Brooklyn, I’ve absolutely loved the classes I’ve taken at YogaSole so far! Each session feels thoughtfully designed, blending asana, breathwork, and mindfulness into a rich, fulfilling experience—all within an hour. The instructors are excellent, attentive, and truly care about their students. Every class has been a beautiful and unique experience. Highly recommend!

Google
Lovely studio where all are welcome. The space is charming, cozy, clean, and homey. Teachers are knowledgeable and offer creative flows. Classes tend to be more relaxed than strenuous. High quality mat rentals for $2. Love that they have tea! Great studio all around!

Google
I have been coming to the studio for 10+ years. It was like a home to me. This is where I learned yoga, gotten through painful breakups, stress at work, pregnancy, pandemic, early years of single motherhood, Trump and so on. YogaSole always stood out as the most welcoming, kind and compassionate place. Taking a class in my case requires getting child care for my 6-year old and an Uber ride to drop her off. This morning, I arrived to class exactly 4 min late. My Uber app froze and required several minutes to reboot, which with some extra traffic around Grand Army Plaza resulted in my lateness. The new owner, who was at the reception, went on a powertrip with what I now understand is her new attendance policy and DID NOT let me in. This is not the YogaSole that I know and sadly I will not be coming again.

Love this studio! The instructors are excellent and I always leave class feeling great.

Google
I signed up for their three class new student promotion. I attended two Sunday 75-minute classes and a Tension Release class on Friday afternoon. Each class was unique and all the teachers were friendly and knowledgeable. If you get a chance try out a class, they also have outdoor offerings in the park!

This place is like a warm hug from a loved one. I practice yoga all over NYC and this one stands out for the care, quality, and vibe. My shoulders drop just walking into the place and I walk out with relaxed energy.

Google
This was my first time at this yoga studio. Such a warm and friendly vibe - really had a nice experience. Took a class with Talia Stieger there - She’s an incredible instructor - You can feel her passion for yoga in the class and yet she is so personable and caring at the same time. Hope to be back soon!

Google
I love YogaSole. The owner is lovely, the staff are so caring and you can tell how much they love their community.

Yelp
YogaSole is a wonderful neighborhood studio and I feel lucky to live just a few blocks away. I've practiced yoga here regularly for 1.5 years now and converted from a ClassPasser to a monthly member because of the consistently skilled and welcoming teachers for both yoga and Pilates, lovely practice space, and warm atmosphere. I've tried *so* many studios over the years but this is the one that finally warranted commitment!

Yelp
Every class here is good. If you are looking for a slow flow, or strength yoga class you can find it here! I have taken their relaxing class as well. It is a beautiful community studio, Bonus : some of their classes are outside in Prospect Park - those are extra special !!

Yelp
Friendly and helpful staff. Nice community of people. Yoga studio tucked into the neighborhood. Reasonable prices and are offering specials for Black Friday.

Yelp
Used Classpass to finally check out this studio now that I finally feel comfortable again to seek out in person classes again. Was grateful for a surprisingly great flow class on a beautiful Saturday morning. I guess I'm out of practice cause though I thought the sequences weren't super challenging during the session, my hamstrings were feeling it later! Lisa, the instructor, was great and watchful of participants' poses. Sunee, the manager, greeted everyone upon arrival and departure, but also melted away into the back office unnoticed. Some possible suggestions could be around temperature control, lighting, and mirrors. I'll admit I'm used to pretty dark studios located inside sports gyms previously. But I appreciated the high ceiling ventilation and mirrors to check posture those places afforded. Obviously, if that is atypical of dedicated yoga studios such as this, then I'm simply mistaken with my minor criticisms. Looking forward to taking future classes here and at other times of day to get a full sense of the studio!

Yelp
So happy to be able to take class indoors, but they also offer virtual classes. I Love this studio! Love all the positive energy that is in this space. Every time I walk in I feel like I am in a safe place. It is a no judgment zone. As they guide you through the practice They remind you to do what your body needs. They assist for any modifications and give tips for you to feel success no matter what level you are on. They also have a gift shop with items from local artists and entrepreneurs. As well as eco-friendly gifts! After class they offer tea and answer any questions you may have about yoga. Great energy from Sunee and Evalena! Namaste!

Yelp
I tried out YogaSole because a teacher of mine was doing a workshop. The space is beautiful and very calming, maybe because it was a cloudy Sunday, but I found the energy here to be comforting and relaxing. Everyone seemed to know and like each other and there was a clear sense of community. I had a great experience here and even though it is out of my way, I would return to try out another class or workshop.

Yelp
YogaSole is a great yoga studio! Hannah is a wonderful teacher. She is clear and calming and really helps me to focus in the most important ways. So grateful to be able to take classes with her! I especially appreciate these online classes in this difficult times!

Diane S.

Yelp
Yoga Sole is the ultimate in a yoga studio. Wonderful variety of classes at different levels, with more than one gentle, you-won't-hurt-yourself classes for returning yogis, older yogis and a variety of other people with a cranky back or the beginnings or arthritis. Knowledgeable teachers with yogi minds: warm, helpful, funny and did I mention helpful? Yoga Sole is much more than a yoga studio, however. It is a community. Currently offering online classes while we're in the midst of a pandemic. I can't say enough about the value of this place. It serves the mind, body and soul.

Yelp
Lovely neighborhood yoga studio with a focus on therapeutics. I felt welcomed when I arrived for the first time, and enjoyed the relaxing vibe. Each teacher has a different energy, so you really need to try a few to find who you resonate with. They have a new student special which allows you to do that.

Yelp
I felt included and supported. The session was at the right level of exertion for me and I loved being with New Yorkers again! I look forward to the next class!!!!!!!!

Yelp
This was my first yoga class. of any kind. Even though it was done virtually, the instructor was great, things were explained well & demonstrated clearly. I also posed a question via email & management answered swiftly & to my satisfaction .

Yelp
I love a yoga class that makes me feel like my life is perfect. Like I have no cares in the world, and I'm completely and utterly blissful, floating on fluffy white clouds, even when I'm inside a smelly subway station, waiting for the R train. That is what the yoga Nidra class at Yogasole did to me. I hesitated going to this place because I live in Bay Ridge but since it was Sunday and I didn't have much to do (plus I had just received my American Health Yoga Passbook which I was quite excited about), I decided to jump on the train. I'm so happy I did. I usually take pretty fast-paced Vinyasa classes and yoga Nidra was just the break I needed. The teacher was the perfect combination of knowledgeable and soothing (great for yoga Nidra) and the atmosphere was very inviting and friendly. Since it got dark early, half of the class took place in candle light which was perfect for the meditation. Needless to say, I'm hooked and will be back. As far as I'm concerned, everyone needs some yoga Nidra in their lives.

Yelp
This place is immaculate, warm, and inviting. Light (in abundance), sound (lack thereof), and smell (incense) unite to promote deep relaxation. The instructors are knowledgeable and helpful. There are a variety of classes to pick from for all levels. I just wish they offered Pilates at a time when employed people could attend.

Yelp
Yoga Sole didn't really change my life or my my dedicated commitment to physical activity. What YogaSole and Evelena changed was my view of myself and of my ability to do whatever I choose to do. Evelena gave me courage. One day she sat down on the floor next to me and said, "Okay. What is bothering you?" And I poured out my fears, the terror I felt with the pending relocation I was forced by circumstance to undergo. She listened. That is what she did and in listening and with a few comments she brought me to understand that I could do it. That nothing was so disruptive in my move that I couldn't do it and come out better by my readjustment. Well, I am now faced with another move. This will be the second since the move with which she helped me. And I am saying to myself, you can do it. You will make of the new location the same specialness that you now enjoy. I guess that is what all newness brings. Fear of what is lost and fear of what is new. But what is the same is me. It is my being that shapes my world. I don't know if this is the teaching of yoga but it is what Evelena taught me and I carry it with me where ever I go. and I am, always on the move. Thank you Evelena for the safe space, the nurturing environment and your full commitment to what you truly believe; that each one of us, who crosses your path, is special. Linda now living in chicago

Yelp
After having been to a good number of cramped and dark yoga studios with practically no natural light, it was refreshing to practice in such a bright and airy space. You can hear the birds chirping in the trees as you practice. I took one open class with Roman and an open class with Lia. Roman's style is pretty different from what I've experienced so far. I lean towards the beginner side of the spectrum and sometimes felt a little left out in his class because I couldn't follow some of the higher level asanas, but overall he was a good teacher. I feel like I got a lot more out of Lia's class, both in terms of instructions and the sequence of asanas we went through. In terms of location, if you live in Manhattan like I do, its a bit of a trek. But if you want to get away from the noise in the city and practice somewhere quiet and peaceful, this is worth the trip.

Yelp
I LOVE Yoga Sole! I was recovering from a knee injury and was looking for a good yoga studio in Brooklyn. Yoga Sole remains to be my favorite after trying out several studios in Park Slope, Cobble Hill and Brooklyn Heights. The studio is airy, clean and peaceful with full of lights and beautiful wooden floor. You practice listening to birds chirping and looking over trees by an elementary school across the street. So relaxing! I love that they offer free water and ginger candy, a nice change from many NYC studios where you pay $1 or more to fill up your water bottle. The studio director Evalena is very friendly and makes you feel at home as soon as you walk into the studio. I was impressed that she already remembered my name by my second visit! I now have taken classes with most of the teachers at Yoga Sole and they are all great...very hands-on and really nice. Each teacher has her/his own style, so you may want to take different classes to see who you like the best. In every class, you would get good adjustments and different options for poses based on your level of practice so you never feel left. Also I like that their classes are not that big. Usually, there are about 5-8 people per class; the smallest class I have been was just 2 people and even the biggest class was less than 20 people. It is really nice that you are not 2 inches away from your neighbor! Overall, a perfect place to practice if you like a laid back, friendly studio!

Yelp
Last week my husband and I tried yoga for the first time and we fell a little bit in love. We decided to try out the Tuesday night gentle flow basic class with Daniella. It was a wonderful first experience. I was a little concerned that since we had never been, it would be intimidating or that we would feel self conscious and not be able to keep up with the poses, but it was completely and totally the opposite of that. I was also concerned that it was going to be too... hippyish, but again, Daniella taught with humor and made it very enjoyable. The class flew by - when the class ended, I was shocked that an hour and a half had passed. And to boot, I felt fantastic - very relaxed, yet like I definitely had a work out.

Yelp
I love this studio for so many reasons. One being that it's not pretentious, whoever is at the front desk is always kind and friendly. Nothing is worse than walking into a studio that gives off a stuffy vibe and YogaSole is the complete opposite. The instructors all have their own style of teaching and are knowledgeable about the different styles of yoga. Each instructor has been supportive of where I am in my practice, and has given me the right amount of courage to push myself just a little bit further. For the first time in my yoga practice, I feel like I'm ready to take on inversions with the support and guidance from them. The space itself is open and on a quiet corner in Windsor Terrace. I don't even feel like I'm in Brooklyn anymore when I'm there. Almost finished with my one month unlimited pass and I already know I'll be coming back for more! Thank you so much guiding me through my practice and keeping me on my toes!

Michelle G.

Yelp
Instructor was welcoming and clear in instructions. Class started on time and every level was made to feel successful.

Yelp
I'm a recent return to yoga after a year or two hiatus, and I'm finding Yoga Sole to be a great nearby studio. They offer a wide variety of classes at times that work for me in a really airy, comfortable location. Their prices are comparable to other area yoga studios, and though there are some cheaper options, the atmosphere, the skill and friendliness of the teachers brings me back here. I particularly like classes with Evelina and Merav. They're both very supportive, very clear in their instructions and can really get you working. I also love that they offer free yoga in Prospect Park on Sundays in the summer. I'm really happy to have found this studio. I'm hopeful that this time it'll help keep me doing yoga so that multi-year hiatuses will be a thing of the past.

Yelp
I am fairly new to yoga, but have had nothing but good experiences at YogaSole. I've taken classes on many different nights with many different teachers and have found the classes to be both challenging and relaxing. Every teacher is a little different and I never know what to expect, but that's one of the reasons I enjoy practicing here so much. I've primarily taken the 7:55p Gentle Flow classes on weeknights found all the teachers to be hands-on and helpful, conscious of limitations, but always pushing students to go a little further. I too have found the prices to be fairly reasonable, especially in regards to the ten-class pass which is $135 for three months. I generally head to yoga two to three times a week, so this works perfectly for me. I also appreciate the $1 mat rental, as I have purchased my own yet.

Yelp
This studio was full of natural sun light, great people & energy. I love it :)

bevin f.

Yelp
Was so close to signing up for the unlimited yoga option they offer - but their teachers are so different in demeanor. Huge fan of Daniella and Evalena. Phil is good. Merav is so-so when dealing with beginner/intermediate individuals. Angela (same one from Bend & Bloom) is good if you like your yoga teacher to mock you, give bad adjustments and have a lack of compassion (namely for beginners) - she would be an amazing football coach - beginners steer clear all together. I'm not a fan of Jillian Michaels style yoga - some people are and find it helps them to be pushed in a jarring way. I'm not a fan of negative commenting especially regarding yoga - but I am a fan of honesty when sharing experiences. And my preference is a teacher who is calm and reassuring. I'll continue to practice with a few of the teachers. The studio is super clean and comfy. But overall - there are better studios, and though this one is close to home for me, I have zero desire to risk leaving a yoga class feeling upset because of being treated poorly by a teacher. Not why I fell in love with yoga and its community.

Yelp
I have to say I had a wonderful experience at yoga sole. I signed up for their 4 week introductory class. I tore my meniscus and was limited to light workouts. Elena was a thoughtful instructor, cognizant of my injury yet still provided a good workout and introduction to this wonderful practice. The studio was well kept and I have to say I met some lovely people during and post the workshop. I got the much needed mind and body workout.

Emily S.

Yelp
Thanks to yelp referrals, had a magical experience here attending a Gentle Flow/Basics class while visiting Brooklyn. It was easy to register for a drop-in class in the pleasant sitting room and the team was welcoming. I appreciated the option to rent a mat (the $1 donation goes to breast cancer research or something along those lines) and the access to filtered water and a spacious clean bathroom. Somehow there was just enough space in the pleasant windowed room for everyone who wanted to take the class. I got the impression that a few of the folks were regulars and knew each other, which made me feel more a part of the neighborhood group rather than less so. Ariel had a nice rapport with the group and had put together a soundtrack which enhanced the experience. One thing that really impressed me was that during one pose when my mind was drifting to future tasks, she was paying close enough attention to each student, given that there were 18 of us, to call me by my name (which I had only mentioned briefly 45 minutes earlier) and correct guessed, "Are you thinking about your to-do list?" The "Gentle Flow/Basics" class was more intense than I expected from the title so non-beginners may enjoy it very much. I just wished I had enough time in the area to take advantage of the new student or other specials.

Yelp
Amazing vibe, great staff (but my fave is Evalina, one of the owners) and a wide variety of classes to suit all yoga styles. Wonderful, supportive yoga community, from bendy teens to elderly folks. The studio is spotless and spanking new with plenty of natural light, fine equipment (bolsters, blankies, belts, etc.) with mat rentals available (the $1 goes to breast cancer). Their therapeutic and gentle flow classes are my favorites but I've also gone to restorative. In addition to yoga, there are occasional clothing swaps, parties and even meditation. And in the summer, there are free classes in Prospect Park. I can't say enough about Yoga Sole and the beautiful community they've built.
google avatar

Robert And Lauren T.

Yelp
The first reviewer wrote that Yoga Sole feels like a community, and that's my feeling, too. After going tor several months, I'm getting to know the teachers and my fellow students, and there's something about the energy of the place that helps people to connect. The yoga classes are great, the teachers are varied but all very knowledgeable and helpful to students at all stages. And the space is beautiful. I've done yoga at several studios, but this one is the best by far.

David C.

Yelp
Beautiful studio. It's a smaller space, but it has a great community. Everyone is friendly. I took my first class with Parker and she immediately made me feel comfortable. She's now my favorite teacher in Yoga Sole! The space is clean and it's well equipped with all the props you need. The classes are usually more gentle, but I feel amazing after class. It's a comfortable, friendly, and safe environment. Definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
I bought a monthly unlimited pass to Yoga Sole off of Bloomspot without ever having visited the studio before (nor have I practiced much yoga elsewhere, aside from home dvds). I'm happy to say that I've been very pleasantly surprised by Yoga Sole. The classes and instructors are great, though some I naturally like better than others as each has their own style. Everyone is super nice and inviting, the studio is a very nice space, and the classes are never overcrowded (and I go after work). My only gripe is that I'm definitely not going to be able to do an unlimited monthly pass again at their full price as it's almost double the cost of going to a gym, however that doesn't seem to be all that unusual for yoga studios so I can't hold it against them, I guess.
google avatar

Gwen G.

Yelp
I always said I would never commit to a yoga studio because it was too expensive, so whenever I needed a break from running, I'd sign up for a week of Bikram ($20), get a good detox and return to running with the occasional yoga DVD practice. But, then, I don't know, I decided to check out the non-Bikram yoga studios in my neighborhood, which led me to both Yoga Sole and Jaya Yoga. After three classes at Sole and two at Jaya, I decided that Sole was my studio. First off, the space is beautiful: comforting, serene, inviting, warm, clean. The instructors (my favorites are Phil and Evalena) are very hands-on and helpful, and they offer challenging classes. I love that the classes I've been attending are small, but regardless of that, the studio seems to have a loyal following, as it should. I still think it's an expensive practice, but I know what they charge is the going rate; however, it doesn't seem right that you pay the same for an hour class that you do for an hour and a half. Other yoga studios DO charge LESS for shorter classes. Hmmmmm.

Brett C.

Yelp
Great place - was a first timer and enjoyed the class immensely. Real comfortable, welcoming vibe. Such a respite.

Yelp
Beautiful, light-filled space, small classes, and excellent teachers who give individualized attention.

Yelp
Love Evalena and Yoga Sole! It's clean, on the corner which offers a lot of natural light, and everyone practicing makes it feel like a real community. Definitely check out the therapeutic yoga class- while running half marathons and training for a full, this yoga class makes my body so much better than if left to my own devices. I am more intone when running and in life. Thank you, Evalena!

Erin M.

Yelp
I love this studio! I live in Kensington and it's an easy, quick bus ride (the bus runs very often- don't think I've really ever felt like I had to wait long for one), or nice long walk away. I decided to try this studio for the first time when I got pregnant and I saw on their website that they have a prenatal yoga series. I've enjoyed the prenatal classes with both Latham and Sokhna, and feel like I've learned a lot, not only about safe prenatal yoga practice, but also about overall health and nutrition, and preparation for labor and delivery. The studio offers a great deal of workshops and series, in addition to their regularly scheduled classes, and I'm looking forward to the upcoming breastfeeding class. The pricing is reasonable and the owners were extremely flexible when I needed to change an option that I originally signed up for. The studio has all the little touches to help you feel comfortable and relaxed, it's clean, has a nice bathroom, plenty of tissues and water available, even healthy treats at the counter. Highly recommended!!

Tom L.

Yelp
Great Yoga studio. I have practiced Yoga at some great places in LA, Miami, and now NYC. Yoga Sole has some of the best instructors i've had the opportunity to practice with. The studio is brand new, and very clean as well! Tom

Yelp
I have taken yoga and stopped and taken yoga and stopped. Why? Well, I am one busy friggin person. Which is probably why I need yoga. I did the living social coupon here for a month. I am going back, when I get back from vacation. These people are awesome, the place is clean, and the yoga is good. I love it. you will too.

Richard L.

Yelp
I came to Yoga Sole looking for a continuation of physical therapy I'd undergone to treat herniated discs in my neck. The Yoga Sole classes have helped a great deal, expanding my range of motion, straightening my posture, and generally making me more limber. The instructors are well versed in their practice and knowledgeable about anatomy. They ask about any physical injuries or limitations, and give some individualized attention to address that condition; they are clear about which exercises are most beneficial and which are to be avoided. Once alerted to any condition, they remember and watch out for you during subsequent sessions. Once I settled in with the instructors whose classes best suited my needs, I'd usually see the same people, which gives the place a good community feel. I think I've also benefited from their focus on breathing and how it can be used to ease movement. and help you focus. The room is spacious and flooded with light, and the classes are usually small.

Yelp
Great, yoga place. The teachers are really friendly and offer different options for students of different levels, so there's no pressure to have to do something if you're uncomfortable with it. The schedule is okay, although I do wish they had more evening and evening classes available since it's tricky to come here in the middle of the day.

L R.

Yelp
While many yoga studios offer 1 or 2 donation based classes in their weekly schedules, YoleSole actually offers them at a time that is convenient for those with 9-5 jobs. Kudos to them! With that said, I LOVE their Thursday and Friday evening community classes. I walk out of class feeling so relaxed and zen, along with getting a good body workout. The space is beautiful, serene, warm, inviting, and clean. And everyone here is so friendly as well!

C D.

Yelp
I absolutely love their Restorative class. I am recovering from injuries and this class is exactly what I've needed. Slow, meditative and with lots of breathing and props. I especially like that Coriel gives various modifications for each pose, she is a great teacher!

cyn s.

Yelp
BEST YOGA STUDIO in Bklyn! Having practiced on and off for 20 years and in many studios in the area, I was not expecting to find myself totally committed to attending daily classes here. I attribute this to the amazing, knowledgeable teachers. They know their stuff and in each class I feel I get individualized, enthusiastic attention that continues to fine-tune my poses. Every teacher offers something new to discover so I recommend trying them all. This studio is a COMMUNITY GEM. I feel the teachers consistently give their all to each of us. Watch yourself get hooked!

K P.

Yelp
The classes are small and the space has great light and doesn't ever feel too crowded. The instructors are nice and friendly and often will gently correct your poses. I bought an unlimited monthly pass and it's great because as I get to know the instructors they offer recommendations specific to my abilities.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place! Who knew that this hidden gem was only a 5-10 minute walk from my Park Slope apt. I got a 30 day living social deal and it was the best LS deal I ever bought! The studio was beautiful with 2-toned wood floors, very clean, with bright light and fresh air. All of the instructors and the owner are the best, sweetest and most knowledgeable instructors I have ever had...and I've been to yoga all over Manhattan, Brooklyn, and other parts of the world! They also offer water for the guests, mats (donations go to cancer) and yummy treats. One day when I was there, the owner brought in birthday cake for one of her instructors, and one of the students..I was so impressed with the personalized touch! The best part for me was that I brought my dog with me everyday and he was bask in the sun in the beautiful courtyard. Everyone loved him and was super friendly! I already miss this place and brought my boyfriend by to show him a good Christmas gift and/or Birthday gift, so hopefully I'll be back soon! :)

Alex H.

Yelp
I'm totally new to yoga, but I'm so glad I've started here. Yogasole is wonderful! A beautiful studio, lovely instructors, and a really kind community.

Allie M.

Yelp
This is a great little studio. I feel like I learn so much in every class - you get a lot of personal attention if you want it. Its great for people of all levels. Classes are comfortable and the people in class, the teachers and the owners are super nice. I love this place it is a real community spot.

Caitlin M.

Yelp
This is a wonderful, top quality neighborhood yoga studio. A rarity in any business, these days, yogasole truly makes community and great yoga its top priorities.
