I came here 2 nights in a row while on business travel! My first night my waitress Sabrina gave excellent sushi roll and wine recommendations! My new all time favorite roll is “City of Trees” - the lemon sauce is amazing. All the fish so fresh I was very surprised and pleased. The all you can eat deal is amazing if you want to try a few things. I sat at the sushi bar around 5/6 on Wednesday and Thursday and it was a great experience! Abbey was my server on Thursday and she was very attentive and kind as well!! I definitely recommend that time frame as it fills up fast!

Yoi Tomo is hands down our favorite sushi restaurant in Boise. We’ve been coming here for years, and it never disappoints. While we’re not sushi connoisseurs, we absolutely love the variety of rolls and flavors they offer—there’s always something new to enjoy. We usually do the all-you-can-eat menu and even keep a running list of our favorite rolls in the notes section of our phones so we don’t forget what to order each visit! It’s been fun to watch Yoi Tomo grow over the years. What started as a smaller restaurant has expanded into a larger space with plenty of seating, making it even more enjoyable to dine in. The wait staff is always friendly and welcoming, and if you’re willing to come during off-peak hours, you can usually get a table without any wait. We love having this gem in downtown Boise and fully expect to keep coming back for many years to come. Highly recommend! 🍣

Just can't go wrong with sushi here! Movie themed sushi rolls make it easy to remember your favorite rolls (Inception, Pretty Woman, Dante's Inferno, Avengers, Incredible Hulk, Man on Fire and Oceans Eleven just to name a few excellent choices!). All you can eat is pretty awesome if you're hungry. What makes it even better is have never had bad service! Typically pretty quick and the servers know the rolls hands down! Make sure to either get on the wait list if going during a peak time but recently expanded helps the wait. Definitely worth trying if you've not!

Best sushi we had so far and we have tried many places. Our server Alexis was really nice and her recommendations were top-notch. They do have a long wait time but we also came on a Friday night so very understandable. We loved the Lion King, Last Samurai, Ten Ten rolls. The appetizers were also fantastic

OMGG this place is just hands down sooo great! Service was so great! They're very friendly and attentive and gave lots of recommendations ♡ there was so many choices to choise from but everything we ordered was so yummy! The place also looks very aesthetic its like Im eating at downtown Japan! ♡ i definitely recommend and our server Sabrina and Sean was great I recommend this place and we will definitely be back!

I genuinely don’t understand how this is rated so highly!!! I was excited to try it and we are so disappointed. The sushi is not good. It looks great. But the taste is not there. Our server was amazing. We got seated quickly and served quick. But we won’t waste another dollar here. Maybe because we came on a weeknight? But never again! Added to our “do not go to” list. I only got a picture of the noddles that were TERRIBLE!!! They tasted more of a bbq flavor and smelt awful. I was so thrown off by the smell and taste of the noodles I forgot to take pictures of our sushi.

One of the best places in the treasure valley area to get AYCE sushi. The appetizers are included in the AYCE. I usually get about 2-3 rolls here. Would recommend going with 2 first and seeing how full you are from there. This place does get busy some days so I recommend getting on a waitlist on yelp.

Pretty good sushi! The all you can eat is the way to go. I really enjoyed the nigiri, but the rolls were super popular among the other customers. The rolls are very non traditional and creative. Service was excellent (thank you Alexis). The ambiance is comfortable. Definitely would return.

This sushi spot in downtown Boise was absolutely out of this world. Even on a busy weekend, it was completely worth the wait. We put our name on the list and waited about an hour and a half for a table, and honestly, we would do it again without hesitation. The location is perfect, right in the heart of downtown Boise and surrounded by shops, restaurants, and all the fun energy the area has to offer. While we waited, we walked around, explored the stores, and soaked in the great vibe of the neighborhood, which made the wait fly by. The service was good, though not exceptional, but that was understandable given how packed the restaurant was. With that many tables in a section, it is hard for any staff to deliver top tier service, and they still did a solid job keeping things moving. We ordered the all you can eat option, which was the best decision. It allowed us to try all of the top rated rolls, and every single one was fresh, creative, and incredibly flavorful. The quality far exceeded our expectations for all you can eat sushi. If you are looking for an unforgettable sushi experience in Boise and do not mind a wait, this place is a must try. The food alone makes it more than worth it.

This place is absolute perfection! From the ambiance, service, value, and food. Everything is so good. I highly recommend it. I got the all you can eat option and ordered tempura shrimp, tuna nigiri, miso soup, and seaweed salad. I also ordered the anger management roll which is their most popular roll. I see why because it was so good. It's located downtown and there is a parking garage right next to it where you can park. They also have outdoor seating for people watching and enjoying the great weather.

This review is based on a to-go order. I have to say the food was delicious, I got the Rainbow Roll and another one I forgot the name but it had mangos, cream cheese and pineapple sauce. It was incredible, I will definitely have to come and sit down to eat next time. Only negative was the hostesses were not very friendly they barely talked to anyone and when they did it was short one worded answers. Kind of disappointing for somewhere that looks extremely busy all the time.

Food was decent but the service was horrible. My partner and I decided to do the all you can eat menu. We barely even got our moneys worth because we were only given 3 rounds in 2 HOURS. Also not once were our waters filled, and just to top it off, our small orders were messed up 3 seperate times. Won't be coming back.

My sister and I were going to an event the Morrison center tonight so we wanted to have dinner somewhere close to it. Yoi Tomo sounded like the perfect place to get our night started. We did arrive before the chaos started. Walked in and got sat right away. I love the vibe of this joint! It's busy with customers, food is being pushed out left and right and employees hustling to their tables. The decor is bright and fun, makes the tone of your dining experience light and fun. It also makes me happy to see local joints staying busy and prosperous! Michelle took care of us tonight. She's very sweet and cute. Drinks were started while we looked over the menu. I did look at home online but after going over the menu in person, I thought I knew what I wanted. That changed, everything sounded so good! They have too many options so it was hard to narrow it down to one roll. I ended up ordering some miso, inari and the Anger Management roll. My sister ordered the Blade Runner roll and some Katsudon. We wanted to share a little of everything. I love love love their miso here. It's hot! It's salty! It has bits of nori and tofu! And they give you a beautiful helping of it. It is so good! The inari was delicious. It's not overly stuffed with rice but I did remove some of it. I just like a little rice in it. The Anger Management roll was tasty! It does have spicy crab in it but wasn't spicy at all. I love the sauces that they topped the roll with. I think next time I'm going to add cucumber to the roll to add some extra texture to it. The Blade Runner was fresh and clean tasting. The outside pieces didn't really have the garlic butter taste to it. But once you got the middle pieces, the garlic butter was prominent. The ebi on the roll was so fresh. It was definitely a good roll. The katsudon was crunchy and savory. It came with a side of sauce that added extra flavor to it. Honestly, it would be so much better with curry sauce. I'm going to see if that's an option next time. That would be killer. Sara ended up finishing our service tonight. She was sweet and got a birthday dessert for my sister. I wanted to start my sister's birthday weekend off tonight as well as our planned event. She got a nice scoop of red bean ice cream with a cutie birthday candle. Sara and Michelle did a great job taking care of us tonight. I have come to the conclusion that most sushi joints in town don't add a lot of acid to their sushi rice. I'm very harsh at rating sushi due to working at a sushi joint for over 15 years. But, I have to let it go expecting that kind of acidity. So, just judging the kind of sushi they serve, it was really good! The seafood was fresh. The sauces were savory. The rice was prepared perfectly. And the miso was fabulous I will have to try their all you can eat next time. Some of their appetizer options sound tasty. What we had tonight was fantastic. I look forward to coming back trying some more rolls from this joint.

This might be the best AYCE Sushi place I've ever been too. I wanted steak, but the husband was in the mood for sushi, and that never happens. EVER. So, I was like "I can have steak tomorrow". And that's how we made our way to Yoi Tomo. We arrived later than we should have so we had to rush dinner (Which lead to a plate of leftovers and ordering more than we could have) BUT it was was all great, and we will 100% be back. If you do go on a weeknight- there was almost none of the wait times everyone warns about. I get why it's a hit. The formula is pretty simple, most of the rolls have the same ingredients with just a different sauce or set up to make it "different enough" that it's not the exact same bite in each special roll. We got 7 rolls, and that was definitely too many for the two of us- but we got Iron Man, Tomb Raider, The Rock, GI Joe, Black Panther, Spicy Tuna and Ten Ten. I have to ask for no avocado, and they happily obliged. We also had the shrimp tempura, and that's another winner. I want to come back, spend a longer time, and not order as much (or come with people so we can try their items) but I definitely will come back, especially for the price- just don't over order like we did or you will end up paying for your extras.

Best sushi restaurant in Boise, of all the ones I've tried. The atmosphere is great, there are so many rolls to choose from, and the food is fantastic! I've also never had a bad server. The Hercules is my new favorite roll! The scallop is soft and melts in your mouth. So good! Please keep it on the menu!

The only sad part about coming here is the wait time, if it's a weekend night good luck. You most likely will have a wait time of over an hour. However, once you're seated the food comes pretty quick. All you can eat sushi is definitely the best bang for your buck. I do really enjoy the service and sushi here and would recommend!!

You add yourself to a waitlist on yelp, and can't wait inside to be called. It's a small location, but it's also cold outside. The staff up front is relatively rude and doesn't seem to want to be there. When it was our time, we waiting in the lobby and there's quite a bit of chaos in there. The interior is small, packed, and poorly organized. The tables are ok, not overly clean. Our waitress was good. She was quick, but she was handling the entire restaurant on her own, and she was running around a lot. The food was a disappointed. The Korean ramen lacked all flavor, and seemed like a packet of Maruchan noodles. The sushi was ok? It lacked flavor or originality. It seemed like grocery store sushi. I did not try the tempura we ordered, so I can't comment on that. Maybe that's the magic meal. I would not come back.

This is a family favorite sushi restaurant in Boise. You can't beat all you can eat. The rolls are big and flavorful. A lot of options. Great appetizers. Something for everyone. Good unfiltered sake too.

Full Montey, Mad Max, & The New T-Rex roll. Awesome !! Actually there are a lot of great rolls to choose from the Valcano, sixth sense, & anger, management are a few more of my Favorites. The jalapeño bombs are the bomb.. The service there is a hit and miss. Sometimes it's great. sometimes it's not so great. I think they get a lot of turnover on servers.. The Sushi always makes up for any lack of service. We've seen Yoi Tomo expand four times now. That should tell you all you need to know.

My favorite sushi place to come eat. Give yourself an hour grace period to wait cause there is always atleast a 40min-1hour wait here especially on weekends. The service is always spot on, friendly and efficient. Any family that visits out of town we bring here and walk around downtown while we wait (they give you 10min to get back to the restaurant or your table is gone, whole party also needs to be present) my favorite rolls are The French Kiss, Zootopia, and the Avengers roll! (All super light and fresh) I also love the Captain America as a heavier baked roll! The inside is a bit small BUT everything else makes up for it! Bathrooms are always clean! (Appetizers are included in the AYCE)

Came to Boise to visit some family again and this is still the best sushi I've had even compared to LA standards! 32.99 for all you can eat and let me just say, please go this route because their sushi is INCREDIBLE! Servers are always very friendly and it may take a while to get seated or wait on the waitlist, but it is absolutely worth it and truly the best sushi in Boise!

Not all avocado rolls are created equal- that's what I learned at Yoi Tomo. I rarely get to eat at a sushi place because of my food allergies, but this place was so accommodating! Staff was super friendly as well.

Any place that has people 20 deep waiting to get in for lunch has to be good, so excited to try it! We sat at the sushi bar, were served immediately and had 3-4 special rolls for lunch. The fish was fresh, the presentation excellent and service was impressive. For the quality you get, pricing is super great. Why did I wait 6 years to eat here, no clue...easily the best sushi spot in Boise and the Treasure Valley! Go, and if you're hungry, they have all you can eat.

Super accommodating to a shellfish allergy we had in a group, making sure that there was no accidental contamination or other mix ups. Having an all you can eat deal for $33 makes it so that you can try the more expensive or exotic rolls with no worry, and we definitely got our moneys worth! There was a bit of a wait time, as the restaurant is always pretty packed full of people with the smell of delicious sushi reaching out to the street, so make sure to join the waitlist through Yelp ahead of time.

Review update!! We've been back multiple times since our first visit. We probably won't be back. Service was great, idea is great. Actual AYCE is lacking. So much sauce and the combinations of rolls are all nearly the same just changed a bit here and there. It just was not worth the wait to get sub par flavors.

I have eaten at Yoi Tomo many times, and it's always been good. So good that I decided to order takeout of their Don Katsu. First red flag was when we arrived at the suggested time and the takeout box was cold. When we got home I opened the box and was met with burnt bits of breading. Maybe 25% of it was edible, including the rice. There's no email to contact, and no "please rate your experience" on the receipt so I have no way of contacting them for a refund or any other way of fixing it. If you decide to spend your money here, do it in person. Don't waste your time with takeout

It was okay. All you can eat for $34. Eat 3 rolls and it's worth it. Service was good. Nice lively place in downtown with ample natural light.

Best sushi in the Treasure Valley. Fast service, good sushi and the All You Can Eat is such a great value! We ordered edamame and jalapeño bombs for apps, Red Snapper and Seared Tuna nigiri, and the Pretty Woman, Fast and Furious, Zootopia and Anger Management rolls. All delicious! Can't wait for our next visit.

Went on a Tuesday night, line was out the door. Such a big building that makes it take a long time to recieve your order. Cant imagine what this is like on a Friday/Saturday night. Nice staff though. Food is more catered towards people who like the fried/baked options for rolls, not very many fresh ones. Only sushi spot around that is ok which makes it kinda worthwhile, and people in Idaho dont have much to compare to

Place was hopping for a Wednesday night. Good service. The food was surprisingly good for being an all-you-can-eat type of place. Prices were reasonable.

All You Can Eat Sushi Heaven! I love a good all-you-can-eat sushi spot, and this one really delivers. The fact that appetizers are included? Total game changer. The rolls are not only delicious but also super fun -- they're named after movies, which adds a playful twist. My go-to is the Gladiator roll, hands down. I went with a friend this time, but I can't wait to bring my husband and kids next -- I know they'll love it too. The staff is wonderful, and everyone made us feel right at home. Pro tip: try to go around lunchtime if you can -- it gets pretty busy during dinner hours!

I enjoyed a quick little stop in to Yoi Tomo during my visit to Boise for work. The hosts seated me quickly (I decided to sit at the bar as I was dining solo) and my server was right on top of getting me drinks right away. I got the regular menu first but then when I was ordering and mentioned needing gluten free food my server brought me back a different menu that had been marked with all the gluten free items which was very helpful! I ordered nigiri which each came with three pieces which was unexpected as usually you only get two with nigiri. I also ordered a multi-dish roll with lemon and avocado. Everything tasted fresh and had good texture. The portions of wasabi and ginger they gave me were spot on, which again was nice as often times restaurants will skimp out on those things. Overall I had a really nice, easy experience here.
