11 Great Sushi Restaurants On The Westside

"Located in a shopping center on Collier Road, Yoi Yoi satisfies when you want a quiet working lunch. You’ll be joined by other solo professionals and maybe a couple on a day date. But since it’s never busy (with dine-in orders, anyway), the food comes quickly to the table, so you can immediately get to work clamping chopsticks in one hand while thumbing through tasks on your phone with the other. The biggest time suck is getting through the lengthy menu. So head straight to the lunch specials, which is where you can score four maki roll orders under $20. The sushi offerings—just like the casual space, which hangs lights and fake vines from the ceiling—do well to meet the moment when you just want a quick, pleasing meal." - nina reeder, juli horsford

Do not waste your money! We had good deliver to hotel. I Love me some hibachi good but this was Horrible Horrible food. I’ll be disputing this charge! No flavor at all. It def wasn’t cooked today. Maybe reheated. Sushi rice had zero flavor. Steak and broccoli were horrible. Steak was too tough to chew. You literally could not chew it. Egg rolls had to be from night before Soup had no flavor! The fried rice was plain. No egg, no vegetables nothing. For all this good they gave two small packs of soy sauce

My mom & I have been twice now, once for lunch & once for dinner. Each time service was consistent & we had no issue with our food both times. We get the California roll, caterpillar roll, Japanese spring rolls (those could be more crunchy), edamame, mushroom soups & ginger salads. The first time we also ordered the steak/chicken habachi dinner. If you’re looking for a casual dine in experience this is the place.

Google
This food is hit or miss. The employees are lovely but the food is sub par. I always get takeout and my yum yum sauce has always been spoiled to the point where it “exploded” in the bag. It smelled spoiled as well. I say try it you might like it but just not as much flavor. And they do only give you 2 soy sauces.

Sushi is always fresh everytime I come and I appreciate the lunch deals they have. The rolls are on the smaller end but they do fill them up pretty well. Great for a quick lunch or dinner.

Pick up order. Nastiest hibachi I’ve ever had. Customer service was good! Smelled like old eggs when I walked in.

I went for a casual dinner with my brother. First off the service was amazing the staff was attentive and our food came out less than 30 minutes and it was so delicious and delightful! I highly recommend the Godzilla roll and the bento box!

Google
Benihana’s was crazy packed on Christmas day so we gave this place a try since it was about a mile away. Online website needs improvement. We had to call-in order. They did answer the phone. But the call was rushed by the woman who answered. There was a long line when we pulled up for our to-go order. We had to wait a bit for our meals. The lady who took the rushed call was friendly. The food could have been seasoned better. The vegetables were fresh. My spring rolls were good. The chicken and shrimp tasted ok. The steak tasted rubbery. This was a low-quality taste compared to higher end Hibachi meals. And they forgot the pork egg roll. They didn’t give a receipt so I don’t know if she forgot to place it in the bag or if she didn’t hear us order it over the phone. We won’t be returning.

Google
The food was great! I ordered the tempura Philadelphia roll and lobster rangoons for lunch and thought they both were great. The only qualm I have is the size of the sushi roll cuts. They were too big and name then difficult to eat. But that's not to confuse the fact that big or small they tasted great. I ordered through GrubHub and my order Cancer much faster than the expected delivery time. I definitely recommend you give this place a try.

Yelp
We went here for a dinner with friends. They had no issue accommodating the large group. The atmosphere is nice, cute and quiet. Server was kind. We really enjoyed the appetizers and sushi. My only issue was the serving portion of the main course. Most of us ordered hibachi plates and the meats were skimp. Myself and my husband ordered the pick 3, with steak, shrimp and filet mignon. I had 3 pieces of steak 3 pieces of filet and 4 shrimp to be exact. From seeing other yelp reviews I was shocked. Especially for $31.00 per plate. Overall the experience with our friends was nice but doubt we will be returning here

Yelp
We took the opportunity to catch up with a friend and we had a good time. We were seated immediately. Waitstaff was very friendly, overall. Our water glasses were always full, and they checked on us frequently to make sure we wanted nothing. The food was very good. I had a couple of sushi rolls which were expertly prepared and seemed generously sized. At the suggestion of my waitress, I tried a mango crunchy roll. I have never had mango in a roll before, and I found it was quite good. My friend had vegetable tempura and some gyoza. She seemed to really enjoy both. And the environs were comfortable, casual. Nothing overly fancy, and still tastefully appointed the way you might expect of any Japanese establishment. It was quiet and easy to converse with my friend. I would gladly go back. Holler if you're coming with.

Yelp
The service was pretty good, the ambience was solid and that fact that almost no one else was there didn't hurt my feelings, but the food itself was "Meh"and the 83 "Health Score", which included violations for "Insects, rodents and/or animals being present", would have IMMEDIATELY made me turn heel had I been paying attention at the time. Even if they clean up the zoo in the kitchen, I don't know what would possess me to return!!??

Yelp
First time visiting restaurant food was good and hospitality was good as well.I do plan to do a return visit in the near future!!!

Yelp
This place is so underrated. The sushi is so good and priced great. It was super quiet when we went seems most people do take out. The worst thing is when you go to a sushi place and it's too expensive and not great. This place is opposite... the people working there are kind as well. We got the dumplings which can never go wrong with and spring rolls to start. Not sure I'd get the spring rolls again but the dumplings were pan fried to perfection. The sushi rolls- volcano roll was great and I like they put it in a bowl because usually the topping gets all over and this contained it. The other roll was the pink lady roll, it was good not too much flavor I would've liked it with added cream cheese maybe? That would be my suggestion.

Yelp
The waiter, didn't have the decency to write down our simple lunch orders my husband ordered steak & shrimp and i ordered Salmon, he asked my husband to repeat his order 2 times, but not me. When my Salmon arrived there was also shrimp and lobster on the plate, this being my first visit I thought it came that way until I received the bill and was double the amount of my order. He had bought me the Sumi not the salmon. Food was very average service was horrible. I will not be returning My advice is make sure they write down the correct order and question the server once you are served.

Yelp
We were craving sushi and stopped by for a few rolls. They seemed like a family-owned small business, with their daughters playing at a table - it reminded me of my own childhood! The service was super friendly. All the fish that we had was fresh. We tried a few Regular Rolls and a Tempura Fried Roll (Godzilla). The tuna inside the Godzilla Roll was cooked, which makes sense looking back, but wasn't what I was expecting when ordering. Since we went on my sister's birthday, we got a free Tempura Cheesecake! It was really yummy - the outside was crispy, while the inside was warm and oozy.

Yelp
Overall 4/5: Yummy food, friendly service. Conveniently located next to my new place. We were excited to try this place out. Food 4/5: We got an assortment of food. We were just in the mood for some small plates and sushi that day. I enjoyed their crunchy roll a lot. Haven't found a lot of places that make their crunchy rolls like that. Just how my brothers and i like it. I got an egg drop soup which was great for the chilly weather. The gyoza was also great. Service 5/5: Super friendly server. She was so nice and people were touching our table every now and then to make sure everything was good. Our waters were always filled and we never felt unattended to. Loved this place, everything came out fast. Ambiance 4/5: Very casual. Nice for a easy going family dinner when you don't feel like cooking. Parking 5/5: Plenty of parking available right out front. It is located in the same shopping center as Publix so there is ample east open parking. Thank you, Yoi Yoi!

Yelp
Their sushi is absolutely delicious! Highly recommend. We are from the beach and avid sushi lovers- this is our new go to local place as a family.

Yelp
Fresh, affordable sushi! I have been searching for a sushi spot since I moved to the Atlanta area.. So happy to find Yoi yoi! Garden and avocado salad are vegetarian, no crab. The avocado maki was fresh and a generous portion. The specialty rolls are very pretty and thoroughly enjoyed. I can't wait to return. Staff was very polite and efficient.

Yelp
I got some sushi rolls and fried rice as a quick Friday night meal. From what I can see on the menu, Yoi Yoi serves a lot more than that so you would definitely have a lot of options. I, however, stuck with rolls today and am glad I did. Spicy Salmon Roll: 5/5. My staple sushi roll can't really go wrong with this one. Sunny Roll: 5/5. I loved this roll. I am a big fan of spicy food and often times rolls are classified as spicy but they aren't at all. This one absolutely was. The mix of spicy tuna, jalapeño and sriracha was fantastic. If I don't come back for anything else, I would come back for this. Fried Rice: 1/5. This is absolutely terrible. I'm not sure how you can make fried rice taste bad, but they accomplished that. Would not get this again and would NOT recommend. Overall 4 stars, would return for the rolls. Probably wouldn't try any of their rice based dishes..

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch the day after Christmas...wasn't busy and was seated immediately. Food was really good, seasoned very well. Loved the fried rice.

Yelp
I've lived nearby for about 3 years and pass Yoi Yoi frequently, but never tried it. However, one evening, I wanted sushi but didn't want to go far so I decided to finally give Yoi Yoi a shot. I went online and checked out the menu and began my order. I ordered a dinner bento box of General Tso's chicken and fried rice (which also came with miso soup, an egg roll, California roll, spring roll, and gyoza), the super crunch mango roll, and the dancing eel roll. A lot - I know lol. My order was ready in about 15-20 minutes so I rode over and got it. I walked right in and picked up my order and came on back home. When I checked everything out, it all looked really good so I was ready to dig in. The super crunch mango roll was really good - definitely my favorite of this order! The dancing eel roll was just okay. The bento box was not it though. The General Tso's chicken tasted nothing like any other General Tso's I've ever had. It just wasn't tasty. The fried rice was okay; the spring roll was greasy; I don't typically eat pork so I didn't try the gyoza; and I wound up throwing the miso soup away with trying it. Overall, I wasn't very impressed. If I'm ever pressed for sushi nearby, I may consider Yoi Yoi, but I likely won't go back.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place more. The staff are really sweet and the decor is cute and welcoming. I stopped in mid day on a Saturday. If you check-in on Yelp you can have a free maki roll or your choice! I enjoyed a glass of Pinot Grigio($7) at the bar while I waited for my order. It was nice to see sushi made fresh In house by the sushi chefs. I ordered 2 bento boxes to go($15). I tried the soft shell crab and the curry chicken. Both came with heaping amounts of rice, salad, spring rolls, a dumpling, and veggie roll. For the dollar figure you get quite a bit. However the quality wasn't great. For one there was hardly any chicken or crab in my meal. Normally I can take one order for two people. These barely had enough for one person. I also didn't like the breading on the crab. For the price I'd try them again and order something different.

Ericka E.

Yelp
My friends and I were the only guest. Completely empty, which made me worry the food wouldn't be good. Everything was really good. I didn't like the yum yum sauce though, that was my only compliant.

Yelp
picked up a takeout order from yoi yoi saturday night. it was ready on time and super easy ordering process. the hostess who rang me up was the sweetest ever. i just got a california roll and a shrimp/cucumber roll but it was great! i put gluten allergy in the notes and they even put gf soy sauce in there for me it was so nice.

Yelp
Really yummy sushi! Visited around 7:30pm on a Wednesday and it was pretty quiet. It is in a strip mall type place so it has plenty of parking which is great in ATL. I got the dancing eel roll (shrimp tempura roll topped with eel, avocado, eel sauce $11.99) and the Bingo Bango roll (shrimp tempura w/ spicy tuna, topped with fresh salmon, tuna, avocado masago and spicy mayo $13.99). Both rolls were delicious and the service was good. My partner got the chicken bento box and he enjoyed that. Overall I would return!
google avatar

Clark D.

Yelp
I ordered the Hibachi Chicken Dinner and Tuna Tataki. The Tuna Tataki was interesting. It had additional seasoning that most other Tuna Tatakis do not have. This gave it a little additional spice. The Hibachi Chicken Dinner was pretty good. The chicken needed more flavor. The vegetable portion was solid. Overall, I would order it again.

Yelp
My take out friday i really needed not wanted sushi! I decided to go to Yoi Yoi and i called and got my order to go! When i went to pick it up all the staff was wearing masks and the sushi chefs had gloves and changed for each roll which was great to see! I got lobster ragoons ( didnt taste lobster only tasted cream cheese but still was tasty) it was only $6.99 and it was 6 pieces so very good price! The two rolls i got were 1. memory roll $15 ( fresh tuna avocado roll, topped with spicy yellowtail, crunch, topped with spicy mayo and eel) then 2. Lighting Bug Roll $15 ( Fresh salmon, mango, avocado roll topped with spicy tuna crunch flakes and a special sauce) The rolls are a little on the pricey side but i think its worth it because its such GOOD quality fish and sooo tasty!!! I really recommend getting take out from here and you can call them to order!

Yelp
The restaurant was elegant and nice. I felt like it could have been under staffed but we were the only one in the restaurant. It took them a while to get our orders. Fast forward to the food, it took about 20-30 mins. Generally that's ok but not when we are the only people in there. It was four of us. The sushi was great. Also the fried rice. However, the steamed broccoli was more on the harder side, the chicken teriyaki didn't taste like it was in fact teriyaki. I like the decor in the restaurant however.
google avatar

Donnell W.

Yelp
The food here was good. The hospitality was amazing. If you want some quick, cheap Hibachi: Yoi Yoi is your go-to place. The chicken in my hibachi dinner was somewhat strange. It was those long pieces of chicken that look as if they came precut and the kitchen just remove them from the plastic container and cook it. I'm more of a fan of real cooked chicken breast that is cut after it has been cooked. The shrimp, however, looked really good. If I go back, I will more than likely try the shrimp. I also had a shrimp tempura roll, it was really good. Checking-in here will get you a free roll through Yelp. Best of luck Yelpers.

PlanetJo W.

Yelp
NO TASTE NO SEASONING! when I told the manager my order had no teriyaki he didn't do anything to fix it. don't waste your time here.

Erica I.

Yelp
Horrible food, no flavor, small portions (for the amount of money), & drowned is in teriyaki sauce. When asked about the teriyaki sauce I was informed that's how they "make all of their hibachi." The menu DOES NOT state they will be adding teriyaki sauce yet alone drowning your food in it!

Hallie P.

Yelp
The food is delicious and they are fantastic with their customers. I order from them once a week and they always go above and beyond. I was so happy to see them so busy for Valentine's Day! I highly recommend!
google avatar

Mable G.

Yelp
While on vacation, we stopped in. I ordered a dinner bento box consisting of curry eggplant & tofu. It was so delicious. Everything else was plain, unfortunately, including the sushi, but I would definitely return for their curry. It's very flavorful and just enough spice. My son had the fried rice which he thought was really good. My husband & daughter had their sushi and said they wouldn't return for that.
google avatar

Mara J.

Yelp
Came in on a slow, Tuesday night and all I can say is the vibes were weird and the quality of our meal was not worth the price.
google avatar

Lyn M.

Yelp
We were looking for really good hibachi for a date night, and Nakato was completely booked. Yelp had this place ranked 2nd. (That is the last time I trust a Yelp review.) I won't say the food was bad, it wasn't, it just wasn't really good. If it were from a food court stall (and $15) I would say it was ok, and go on about my day. But, it just was not what we were looking for on a date night. We had, Gyoza (pretty good), two nigiri each (not the best, but ok) and the steak and shrimp hibachi, w "fried" rice (cooked in butter flavored oil?? Ewww). Not great, not awful, just ok. And ok isn't really good.
google avatar

Jaclyn F.

Yelp
Delicious sushi, impeccable service, reasonable prices, and ice cold Singha..my absolute favorite neighborhood sushi restaurant!
google avatar

Kayla M.

Yelp
Great Service but the food is less than desirable. My Boyfriend & I ordered the Hibachi. He selected chicken & I selected Chicken, Filet Mignon, & Shrimp. The friend rice was not fried at all. I had to go home & recook it. The chicken was bland & the dry. The steak was over cooked. We did not try the sushi. Most of the patrons were ordering sushi so stick to the sushi & avoid everything. The wait staff was extremely nice so I'll give them that.
google avatar

Poly P.

Yelp
I used to drop by at this place when I'm off work and they never disappoint me. I dine here today since I want some sushi before going home. Their sushi is very delicious! The right amount of rice and filling. The fried rolls are also crispy but not to the point of cutting your mouth open like any other places. The staff are always nice and caring. This place is quite and nice to do light work or chill even with other customers around you. Nice place to dine!
google avatar

Maya F.

Yelp
Amazing! Just visiting a friend for the weekend. I got two rolls (quite basic ones albeit) and a seaweed salad for relatively cheap! Everything was good and the service was great. Would recommend
google avatar

Marcella A.

Yelp
I was looking for some sushi during my lunch break and this was listed as one of the closest on yelp. I ordered the general tso chicken bento box with fried rice to go and it honestly wasnt bad! It tasted about what I expected, but honestly my expectations weren't very high. The portion sizes were great, and the crab rangoon was probably my favorite, but everything was seasoned pretty lightly without strong flavor and I dont think the chicken was cooked well. I cut it open the next day to fry up with the rice and it was all pink inside. The interior of the restaurant was really nice and very clean, and the menu looked promising as far as a variety of options. The service was also great and very quick. Wasnt bad for a quick bite to eat but dont think I'll be back.
google avatar

Chloe S.

Yelp
Disappointed is an understatement. I really wanted to like this place, but it's just not it for me. I saw such a high review rating on yelp, but I'm realizing now this is most likely for their sushi and not their hibachi. They don't have any hibachi tables inside the restaurant like I was expecting (this would have been a red flag for me, but I ordered via phone). I got their lunch chicken teriyaki to go and if I had more time to drive back I would have returned it. The fried rice is not hibachi style with the veggies and all the flavor, it's just white rice with eggs. The chicken itself is mega dry with very little flavor. The teriyaki sauce is a really thin consistency with a salty flavor, it's not sweet how you would expect. The 'yum-yum' sauce is more like honey mustard. The salad was fresh, the ginger dressing is good, and my food was hot. If you have a craving for hibachi, this is not the place for you.
google avatar

Jay L.

Yelp
It wasn't exactly the steakhouse aesthetic that I'm used to but the food was very delicious! It came out fresh and the service was delightful. Will definitely return here for a quick bite.
google avatar

Jay R.

Yelp
Sushi rolls were delicious!! Spicy tuna is fresh and very good, as well as the salmon. Highly recommend coming here if you want high quality sushi.
google avatar

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
So I came here during lunch on a not so busy Friday. The restaurant wasn't crowded and the customer service for seating was pretty good. However, it appeared that only one person was serving all of the tables, so that slowed things down a bit. Nothing to cry about. * I tried the 2 roll, 1 maki roll lunch special; 2 Salmon rolls & 1 shrimp tempura roll. It comes with miso soup or a salad; I opted for the soup. The rolls were decent. They were rolled well, nothing falling out. The sushi rice was super sticky and kinda sweet. I'm not sure i've ever had sushi rice that sweet before. The cuts of Salmon were decent. The shrimp tempura was not my favorite. The sweetness of the rice made me feel like I was eating a dessert. The miso soup was standard. * Good lunch prices. The rolls aren't the biggest, but I was satisfied when finished. I would definitely come back to try some specialty rolls. Just need to not add sugar to the rice!!
google avatar

Billy F.

Yelp
I have been here twice now. Both times I have had the Tempura Vegetable appetizer and Sashimi Deluxe entree. Both times the food came out great. The tempura veggies were hot and crispy. The sashimi was wonderful and had a very buttery texture. Not chewy at all. I will say that the miso soup and salad are mediocre at best. Which is a shame because I enjoy Miso soup. I will definitely keep going there for their sashimi.

Yelp
My favorite sushi place, as well offering delivery and dine in right now, of course nothing beats the in person experience, but delivery is a great second option.

Saniyah B.

Yelp
food was mid. went with a group of friends for prom. waiter had a fucked up jaw(jump scare). food tasted like it was frozen. sushi took a long. fucking. time.

Benini B.

Yelp
If I could give more than 5 stars I would; I found Yoi Yoi when I moved to Georgia 2years ago & haven't stopped coming since. I remember finding them after they just opened up dining again. A very peaceful and lovely atmosphere & the food matches the quality of the place as well! Amazing Sushi, Lobster Ragoons , Miso Soup, Sake & More. I always order the same thing Sex on the beach Sushi Roll with 6 Pieces Lobster Rangoon; miso soup & water with lemon. My lovely waitress Elly is so sweet & has remembered me and my order! The owner is very nice as well and actively in the restaurant! I'll continue to come here & bring others as well! Yoi Yoi has my heart & stomach - Loyal Customer BeniniB xoxo
google avatar

Loyda Z.

Yelp
Fast & yummy! Their bento box is the best deal ever! You get it all in one: sushi, goiza, rice, entre, all of it!

Nelson I.

Yelp
The service is fucking horrible and they will adjust your price on Uber eats without justification to make you stuck with the cost. Be carful ordering from this store via delivery service . It's a scam
google avatar

Kimberly D.

Yelp
Visit YoiYoi. A hidden treasure . Excellent customer service . Safety standards are being observed . The food is fresh and tasty !

Kia C.

Yelp
Salmon fried rice is soooooooo good i love it here. Love the veggies and even the salad and soup. So good.

Zac A.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I have been coming here for the past 3 years, and the service and sushi never disappoints. We've since moved to Smyrna and still make the drive over to west midtown for Yoi Yoi. The owner is extremely friendly and remembers us every time we come in. Some of our favorites are the fire fly roll, the sex on the beach roll, Miami vice roll, and super crunch mango roll. That being said, you really can't go wrong with any of the sushi on the menu!

Yelp
I was craving hibachi when I landed at Hartsfield and asked my husband to meet me here. What a colossal disappointment! I picked this place based on ratings and wow, was they all wrong!! The place is not clean (my first no-no), the food is sub-par (I can't even) and the prices do not match the ambiance (which makes you think you at your Grandma's house). Awful.
